"Housed in a restored colonial building and repeatedly voted the top hostel in Rio and Latin America, I liked the super convenient location with a metro station at the end of the block and Lapa's nightlife just down the road. The super friendly staff organize nightly events, making it a social spot for meeting people and partying; the extensive buffet breakfast and evening happy hour help you save money. Many rooms have three-bed-high bunks (so try to avoid those), though all have privacy curtains and individual lights and sockets; the water pressure is excellent but the Wi‑Fi isn’t always reliable, so it’s not ideal if you need to work on the road." - Matthew Kepnes
