"This is one of the hidden gems in Ithaca. Difficult to find but worth the hunt, this beautiful little building and the winery it houses has been a labor of love for owner Frederic Bouche. He greets you at the door, a one man operation, and gives you the history of his family's winery in France and a tour of the process for creating his "Meleau" or port, as it would be called if trade agreements did not prohibit the use. He makes both a red and a white from local grapes processed to juice by one of the area vineyards, adding honey to provide more sugar to the fermentation process. Stop in and pick up a bottle for a picnic, but don't be in a hurry, you'll leave knowing far more about port wine than you did going in." - St. John Design Group
