"A grand Munich hotel that now features a polished new wing designed by Axel Vervoordt, where spacious rooms favor natural materials and a muted palette—think Valverde stone bathrooms, antique wooden furniture and linen-covered sofas—offering a deliberate contrast to the building’s traditional, opulent areas; the owner has plans to extend this modernisation throughout the property. Amenities include a plush private cinema seating 38 on oversized sofas that screens English and German films in their original languages, and a seventh-floor spa whose pool looks out over Munich landmarks such as the Frauenkirche and the neo-Gothic town hall.
