"A massive harbourfront cultural regeneration converting 40 hectares of reclaimed waterfront into museums, galleries, performance venues, green space and public art. Early openings include an expansive Art Park with lawns, varied tree planting and bike-friendly paths that already attract picnickers and casual recreation; the park will host Freespace, a flexible performance venue with a black-box theatre and outdoor stage. The masterplan aims to create one of the world’s largest arts precincts, stitch new cultural facilities into the waterfront and provide open-air programming that showcases the island skyline." - Chris Dwyer
