"As a follow-up to their first property in Ayutthaya, across the river from the UNESCO-protected historical park, Sala Hospitality Group chose a quieter location downstream from the old Siamese capital. The peaceful Sala Bang Pa-in is on a small island accessed via a curving red footbridge, and in a refreshing departure from the norm — note the nearby Summer Palace with its ornate spires and decorative pavilions — the architecture is modeled after that of a down-to-earth local village. To be fair, there’s nothing humble about the hotel’s sleek guest rooms with polished concrete floors, spa-like bathrooms, and dazzling nature views.
