"Chicago native Henry Cai’s father worked in Chinese restaurants, and thus Cai is a student of the game, picking up cooking tips from a variety of chefs through the years until he launched a pandemic to-go-only restaurant. 3 Little Pigs is a Chinese American wonderland with porky fried rice, dumplings, barbecue pork, and fried chicken sandwiches. Cai has moved his restaurant a few times, and now it’s next to Maria’s Community Bar in Bridgeport (there’s also a River West ghost kitchen)." - Ashok Selvam, Eater Staff

"This Bridgeport spot uses thin slices of tender meat that practically disintegrate in your mouth, leaving behind the telltale pleasant tingling of sichuan peppers in their Chinese-Chicagoan version of a beef. The spice is amped up even more thanks to the addition of chili oil-soaked giardiniera and a side of hot pot broth in place of jus. It’s not traditional, but like opposable thumbs and Roombas, the hot pot beef at 3 Little Pigs Chi is an evolutionary marvel we didn’t know we needed, but now can’t live without." - veda kilaru

"3 Little Pigs has come long way from its original DM-over-Instragram-to-order business model. Now, you order via kiosk at their permanent Bridgeport home, and get their char siu, pork fried rice, and lemon pepper fried chicken without wondering if you were left on read. And if picking up their incredible, dinner-only hot pot beef sandwich becomes a dine-in situation, 3LP also has a very nice, secluded patio." - john ringor, adrian kane

"Getting some of the city’s best Chinese food from 3 Little Pigs Chi used to involve ordering over Instagram and waiting for the chef to respond, or, most recently, eating in a cupcake shop. But now you can walk right into their first very own brick-and-mortar in Bridgeport and get their pork fried rice, char siu ribs, and crab rangoon without needing a social media account." - john ringor, veda kilaru, nick allen

This place has been on my list for a while and finally we made the visit for lunch. 3 Little Pigs is a tiny space with bench style seats in the window and maybe three tables for parties of four. The food is made fresh and when the restaurant is packed you can expect a wait, but in my opinion it was worth it. I had the chicken with pineapple and it was abundant and delicious. My husband had the chicken sandwich and he said it was ok, the size was great but he wanted a little more flavor. Next time maybe he'll request a sauce or something. While cooking the food the restaurant got sued smokey and needed to have the door open to air it out. Like I said it's small and the food is made fresh to order so these things are to be expected. This isn't a place I would recommend for atmosphere, but if you want filling Chinese/American cuisine, it's worth checking out for sure.

Great neighborhood spot in Bridgeport, right next door to Maria's. I got the Original Hot Pot Beef and the Salt & Pepper Chicken Sandwich. Both are excellent. The Hot Pot Beef sandwich is juicy and the chicken sandwich has an excellent crunch. Highly recommend both meals. Looking forward to returning.

My friends and I were excited to finally try 3LP and went to dine-in at the Bridgeport location. We ordered salt & pepper chicken, orange chicken, the spicy chicken sandwich, and the hot pot beef. We loved the Italian beef inspired sandwich, overflowing with giardiniera and great dipped in the au jus. I enjoyed the nashville hot and chili oil smothered spicy chicken sandwich which had a nice heat and tasted a bit buttery as well. The sandwiches came with curly fries that had a nice texture. The salt & pepper chicken was crunchy with a great salty umami flavor. The orange chicken tasted classic and we appreciated that it didn't taste really syrupy but had a light sweetness from oranges. The chicken box came with vegetable noodles/lo mein which we didn't really care for, just standard noodles without much flavor so we would like to try the fried rice next time. The char siu pork was fine, personally we are not pork fans though so ymmv. I would get the chicken or other items instead! The interior is simple and straightforward, with some tables, but I would definitely recommend dining in so you don't lose any of the great texture from the food! The staff was sweet and cut our sandwiches for us when asked. Bring water because they didn't have any available.

The best char siu in the city. Smoky and sweet and melt in your mouth. The salt and pepper chicken sandwich is easily top 5 chicken sandwich in the city and the hot pot beef is the perfect blend of Szechuan and Chicago. The orange chicken, fried rice, and Rangoon are also legit. Basically everything here is amazing and if I lived by here I would eat this every day.

I spent forty dollars on an order that came cold and had an extremely small food portion, and I was really disappointed. What I received looked the portion was extremely small for the price. I even took a picture of it in the car to show how tiny the portion was—definitely not worth forty dollars. The food was cold, the taste was completely off, and it didn’t seem like it was even properly heated. I didn’t enjoy any part of the meal, tossed the meal

This Bridgeport chinese “fast casual” eatery is amazing. I understand that Chinatown is just a “stones throw away” but on my way to 3LP, I noticed many chinese run businesses, not just food places. Nonetheless, this small corner shop has massive flavors! Their spicy hot chicken sandwich is a banger!! Super crunchy and flavorful, hot oils and jalapeno slices compliment this messy sandwich. Comes with curly fries that are prepared to order. Fries perfectly hot and salty. Their teryaki fried chicken plate is amazing. Probably the best I have ever had. The crunch on this chicken is fantastic but the meat is soft and juicy. The garlic noodles is a good accompaniment to this meal. I will need to try their many other items if they are as good as these items.

the Lemonade. It was just right. However the STAR at this place is the pork. I strongly recommend Orange Chicken and Pork combo with garlic rice. Worth every penny. Met an owner. He was really cool to talk too. Next location to drop into is in Hyde Park. Gotta have the Spicy Chicken.

Sadto report... The rice was dry, the chicken was also dry and tough to eat. The BBQ pork had no flavor. The crab rangoon was good, nice sweet taste.
