Modern Mediterranean cuisine with a Californian influence served in an upscale space with a bar.
"The Hebrew word for “dad,” this welcoming spot in the upscale Bal Harbour Shops is ideal for an elevated Mediterranean meal. Famed starters like crispy short rib hummus, whipped feta with crushed pistachio, aleppo and urfa pepper, and hamachi and charred avocado with coconut cream, lychee, jalapeño, and lime vinaigrette are fabulous openers. Follow those up with sweet potato latkes, slow-braised lamb orzo with currant, or grilled cauliflower with medjool dates. Be sure to leave room for dessert: sticky date cake and vanilla bean panna cotta with orange blossom ricotta seal the deal." - Alona Martinez
"Aba is a Mediterranean restaurant in Bal Harbour that’s a good option if you need to refuel during a shopping spree. Originally from Chicago, their menu has more hummus and spread options than your local Milam’s—like the spicy lamb ragu hummus that perfectly balances rich ragu with creamy hummus. They also have heartier dishes like shawarma-spiced skirt steak with horseradish labneh. The interior is decorated with more fake foliage than a Jurassic Park theme ride, and it's a fitting power lunch spot for the Bal Harbour crowd." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino
"Nestled inside upscale Bal Harbour Shops, this pretty Mediterranean known for dishes like avocado. Hummus with lobster, shwarma prime skirt steak frites, and Aleppo-roasted halibut offer a fun take on frosé called the ‘Go Freezy on Me’ cocktail, made with lo-fi amaro, passion fruit liqueur, grapefruit, and lime." - Alona Martinez
"This elegant Mediterranean inside Bal Harbour offers gluten-free brunch, lunch, and dinner menus. Dishes include spicy lamb ragu hummus with gluten-free crackers, whole grilled branzino with olive and anchovy tapenade, and grilled cauliflower kebabs." - Dara Smith, Alona Martinez
"Chicago-import Aba, created by Top Chef alum CJ Jacobson and executive partner Marc Jacobs, offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu with dishes such as carrot and sunflower dip, everything Jerusalem bagel with smoked salmon spread, hamachi, and shawarma-spiced skirt steak. The 250-seat restaurant in Bal Harbour shops features olive trees, climbing ivy, and vintage lighting, including original Parisian street lamps and gold Moroccan fixtures, adding to its chic and airy atmosphere." - Juliana Accioly, Olee Fowler
