Best Restaurants in Downtown Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Who doesn’t need a night at the Ritz? Executive chef Quinn Bullard recently joined AG, the steakhouse at the Ritz-Carlton downtown. Alongside steaks, Bullard has added light and bright seafood dishes to the menu. Think hamachi crudo with a blood orange aguachile, cold-smoked scallops with corn puree, and oysters with a peach mignonette and Champagne gelee. You can now add foie gras and lump blue crab Oscar to the black Angus steaks. Be sure to grab a pre-dinner martini at the Lumen Lounge at the hotel." - Henna Bakshi

The 16 Best Downtown Atlanta Restaurants

"If you're dressed up for a show, you’ll stand out at Margaritaville. So march your suede steppers into Atlanta Grill, the signature restaurant at Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking down at Peachtree Street from your patio table or sitting in the dark, leather-boothed dining room, you’ll be greeted with formal salutations and presented with five water options. An assortment of seafood and satisfying sides (including a skillet mac and cheese we’d consider staying overnight to try again) are available, but the headliners are the steaks, ranging from skirt to a 36-ounce tomahawk so tender the meat falls into the chimichurri sauce on its own." - demarco williams, juli horsford, nina reeder

AG At The Ritz-Carlton Review - Downtown Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"The most memorable downtown meal might be on the second-floor patio at Atlanta Grill, the signature restaurant at Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta. From your perch above Peachtree Street, you can look down on all the pedestrians who aren’t being greeted with formal salutations and pampered with five water options. You can also choose a table inside the dark-wooded chamber, where you’ll be surrounded by chardonnay-sipping solo diners at the bar and couples giggling about the day over wagyu meatballs. By the time your table is topped with skillet mac-and-cheese and a 36-ounce tomahawk so tender the meat falls into the chimichurri sauce, you'll have already convinced yourself to extend your stay." - DeMarco Williams

Amazing experience! Perfect Anniversary Celebration. Jennifer gave us such a great welcome, kept in touch while we had a drink at the bar, suggested/took a photo with the awesome chandelier and had a surprise for us! Their private booth was all set for us with rose petals and candles! Arnold anticipated every need, made great recommendations and continued to make our celebration so special! Great food, excellent wine and drinks. Special celebration dessert. Oh what a night!

We had the PLEASURE of being served by Vanangel who was the BEST server we have ever had in our life. Our food was delicious. Bless him and his family and we will recommend to everyone we know.

Consider another breakfast spot. The Avocado Toast was somewhat ‘ok’ but the portion size is super tiny. 4 bites and it was gone. In my photo, it’s less than half the size of the butter knife. 1 egg and maybe 1/4 of an avocado. This is a small child’s serving size. The prosciutto was brown, (turning bad) see photo bottom between the egg slices. It should be pink/red like the pickling on top under the lettuce. The service was slow for only having 2 customers in the entire restaurant. I wasn’t impressed so I got a breakfast sandwich from the coffee bar in the lobby and went on with my day. The other days, I got breakfast elsewhere.

Top notch service. Our server, Vangel, created an incredible environment, and was very professional. Best experience at a steakhouse, and we were taken care of very well. Our food came out a little late, and they took care of our entire meal!! It was not necessary but the manager placed a high importance on creating a good experience. 10/10 would return, they made an anniversary very special. They brought out candles and rose petals as well as continually wishing us well. They also offered to take our photo. This type of experience and kindness is not seen very often, these days. Thank you to our host Jenifer, server vangel, manager, and the other man who helped make it a perfect night.

We always take our daughter somewhere new for her birthday so that she gets to experience different states, culture and travel. This year we traveled to Atlanta. We started looking at places for her birthday meal and she fell in love with the desserts! I booked our meal, left a general message that it was our daughter’s 13th birthday and she was excited to dine at their restaurant. We arrived early but the hostess already knew our names and addressed us with a wonderful welcome. She walked us to our table and explained that the restaurant had reserved their VIP booth for her. It was very nice and offered such an elevation on the night. We had absolutely the best waiter who had the bar staff create a mock tail for my daughter called the “Cinderella”. It was certainly fit for our little lady! She loved it. My wife had a house whiskey sour and I had the smoked old fashion. I’m a huge fan of whistle pig and they had a single barrel that they curated with the distillery. Both were wonderful. We found the meatballs starter really delicious and then marched onto our main course. My wife had the lamb. It was so good that she was picking up the lamb and eating straight off the bone. Clean plate club for her! I had the aged strip. The cook was perfect, the season was spot on. My daughter had the seafood Alfredo and she ate everything to include the tomato’s. That’s high praise because she is a little picky and not a fan of tomato. We finished off with the desserts. WOW factor!! I had the Limoncello and it was perfect. Not too sweet, not too tart and the tart crust was just hard enough to give it great texture. My wife had the mocha affogato which was perfectly balanced. But, the show piece was my daughter’s dessert The “Atlanta Peach”. A work of art on a plate. The “peach” was beautifully crafted with a sinful inside. Somehow my daughter let me have a small bite and I was absolutely lucky that she did! What an amazing overall experience. Thank you to all of the staff.

My wife, my daughter, and I all stayed at the Ritz Carleton this weekend. We went to breakfast and dinner here multiple times. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. In a world where fine dining and food is everywhere, the difference is made in the service and people that work there. At the beginning of our trip, we dealt with Jennifer at the front stand. She is beautiful, out going, and kind. She was flexible with my family, friendly, and made sure to get us taken care of. We had breakfast here on the first day, the service and server were so kind and friendly. Food was A+, as expected. We ate dinner here twice. The first night, we were in a bit of a rush, so things didn’t go perfectly for us. Anthony, in management is a professional, and made sure that we got take taken care of. I can’t say enough good about him, he takes pride in his restaurant, and you can tell he really cares about his customers. We chose to come back the next night, as our schedule wasn’t so hectic. I spoke with Ella at the front reservation desk, and she made sure that we would have a reservation. These guys roll out the red carpet. Tom was our server on our last night, I would say they gave us their best server, but everyone we dealt with here was so kind and friendly. He was very professional, gave us amazing recommendations, and made us feel like family. The meal was A+, and the dessert was even better. Anthony was on point as well, and made sure our meal was perfect. Amazing team, amazing food, and friendly service. I recommend the Waygu meatball appetizer, the filet steak, and brownie ice cream for dessert. Thanks again for giving us the VIP experience, and treating us like family, all the way from Utah.

Had such a magical experience at the bar. Matt took excellent care & is clearly a true provider of hospitality. Everyone else is the space was also engaged & friendly. Couldn’t recommend enough especially for solo travelers!

Google
Amazing experience at AG Ritz Carlton! The team got us a private room for our dinner which gave a perfect ambiance. The service was on point and couldn’t be nicer. The food was amazingly delicious, we shared a few appetisers and would recommend the meatballs with the slices of bread. Same for dessert, we shared and would recommend the toffee cake. The ritz chocolate cake was too heavy but tasty.

Yelp
When traveling down south, the proper gentleman will quench his thirst and satiate his hunger at a steak house, perched on the second floor overlooking the street. Well we were not proper, but we decided to come anyway! It was a classy place with great service. The food was tasty, too. But it will be pricey and you will have small portions...still worth a visit if you are near the Ritz. Try the filet mignon and the house made peach sorbet! One of the most memorable aspects was hand selecting your own steak knife!

Yelp
We were staying at the hotel and decided to have a team dinner here. Overall a very nice experience. The server was very attentive made aure we had everything we needed. He was well aware of the menu and the wine list. The food was very good and the restaurant has an old school steakhouse vibe. If back in ATL I would definitely stop by again.

Yelp
We stayed at The Ritz for New Years Eve and while our stay at the hotel was as wonderful as one would expect for The Ritz brand, this was one of the most unpleasant dinner experiences. We were excited to acquire a reservation to celebrate NYE because we did not want to go out and we thought that was a good sign. It started with a phone call asking about a corkage fee.. we were told we could bring our own bottles of wine and that the fee was $35/bottle. No big deal as we were happy that bringing our own bottles was not an issue. We also confirmed with the hostess before she left for the day. It is important to note that a member of my party wrote down the name of both people that he spoke to. We were seated in The Distillery which was nice and sort of private as another party was seated next to us. We provided our waiter with three bottles of wine and before he poured our glasses, a manager approached my friend that made the reservation and instead of speaking to him outside, he spoke to him at the table in front of everyone. He explained that not only are you not allowed to bring bottles that they currently have on their list, but the max is only two bottles. We were told no such thing and furthermore, how are we to know what bottles a restaurant has on their menu in advance? My friend has Ambassador Titanium status and handled the situation very well by not only providing both names of the employees that we talked to but that neither person told us there was a max of bottles or provided us with a prior wine list. After everything, the manager agreed to let it go, as we were able to provide names and times of said conversations. To say his approach was tacky is putting it mildly. After the uncomfortable situation, we started with a seafood tower, that was lacking in so many ways, I can't even go into detail. We ordered the halibut with truffles, seafood fettuccine and the tomahawk steak medium rare. The halibut was delicious, the pasta was too al dente, but the seafood was good and the tomahawk was downright awful. Upon first presentation, our waiter sat down a well done steak with no explanation of the sauces that accompanied the steak. We had a word with him and it was sent back. The replacement was a rare steak. It was cooked on the outside, but the inside was so red, it looked almost raw and with food poisoning was on our minds, it too was sent back and we declined anything replacement. We dared to dine here for breakfast for two days and that is the only reason AG is getting two stars instead of one star. The AG breakfast sandwich with chicken apple sausage instead of Tasso ham was simply delicious as was the cinnamon brioche French toast, and both salmon and classic eggs benedicts were also very good.

Yelp
Exceptional experience. The atmosphere is classy but not pretentious, just a classic feel to it. Service was amazingly attentive but not intrusive--our server gave genuine recommendations that proved to be well-taken (no tack of just pushing some item they need to move like you unfortunately see at times). Of course, the fare is most important at any restaurant (though I'll definitely give or dock points for quality service and atmosphere). And the meal did not disappoint. Started with cocktails, including an exquisite smoked old fashioned prepared tableside--rich, deep flavor with the smoke giving the perfect accent as opposed to overpowering the drink. At our server's recommendation, I ordered the Berkshire pork chop special--one of the best chops I've had. Tender, well-seasoned, beautifully cooked...this needs to be on the menu. Most of my cohorts ordered steaks of various cuts (always a good move at a steakhouse...), and everyone raved about them. And don't skip dessert. I mean it, get one to go if you're out of room. We admittedly over-ordered a bit, but it was worth it. My person all favorite was the Atlanta Peach--a unique little dish, quite tasty (assuming peach flavor is something you're good with, of course). But all were excellent. I look forward to returning next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Great restaurant, lovely ambiance and service. Had the Caesar salad and added steak it was great and split French fries and the broccolini which were both good. The broccolini is not overdone and is served just with onions and seasoning which I liked. Ended with the warm brownie which was good but didn't blow me away. Would recommend this place

Yelp
Tom was such a fabulous server from start to finish. The incredible hostess seated me in such a fantastic booth even though I was dining solo but plenty of space during an early dinner. Forever grateful to her!! Such a beautiful intimate setting and outstanding food and cocktails. Highly recommend the salmon and smoked old fashioned.

Yelp
I was skeptical about the menu being small but the food was delicious. I had the seafood pasta and my husband got the filet. Perfectly cooked and tender. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The ambiance is lovely. If you're looking to pinch pennies, don't come here. But I won't complain because it was worth it!!

Yelp
I came here for a work dinner with a colleague and it did not disappoint! We wanted a place to sit outside since the weather was perfect and the hostess was very nice and accommodating. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options which are all very nice and there is a nice bar seating area as well near the entrance. I ordered a filthy martini and it was made very well! The bread service is delicious and comes with a variety of delicious options. I ordered the oxtail tortellini with a side of Brussels sprouts. The tortellini was filled with so much flavor and the Brussels were sweet and savory. I recommend this spot for anyone who is in the area and looking for some delicious food!

Yelp
I'm so disappointed in our family Christmas dinner at AG this year. The scallops in my seafood dish were lukewarm, smelled fishy and had a strange metallic taste. It was inedible and sent back. Although I refused a replacement seafood dish, I was given their broccoli cheese soup as a replacement... because I don't eat beef or pork and didn't want more seafood or any chicken. Honestly, I was happy to not eat anything else and simply accepted it because it was insisted. I didn't eat it. My husband's steak had much fat and gristle... so much so he used his napkin to spit out gristle with every other bite or so. He too was disappointed. He didn't complain or send it back. He just ate what was edible. Two stars because our daughter enjoyed her meal and although service was slower this time, our server, Vangel, was very accommodating and professional as before. He's simply the best! Sadly , we won't be returning next year for what we thought was a new Christmas tradition.

Yelp
This review is based on dinner and breakfast. Breakfast & Dinner- Both times- We were just a walk in. Hostess was not very friendly in the night. Hostess in the morning was great and friendly. Both our waiters morning and night were nice and very good. Place is classy and very nice. Steak- was great (New York Strip) Fries- awesome Chicken- was tasteless Sweet potato purée- good but less than a portion for a baby. Bread - sour bread is fresh and nice Tomato Soup- my wife and I both disagree- whether or not it was good. So we give it a 4 out of 5 Breakfast Wife did French toast- that was really good I did the buffet- Pancakes were tasteless Cafe con Leche- outstanding Pastries- delicious Eggs- were just ok Bacon- very good Potatoes- very tasting Cereal- not very good- tasted old I have no pictures of breakfast, but a decent experience.

Yelp
Decided to have dinner here and really enjoyed every bite we took. This restaurant is inside the Ritz Carlton and it shows. Started with the Canadian oysters and crab claws and they were on point. Then we each had their burger and omg it's one of the best burgers I've ever had. Feel free to build it to your taste or order it as is. It's so tasty and I recommend medium. Service left nothing lacking and we are thankful for a great time.

Yelp
10/10. This is a premium restaurant attached to the Ritz, so of course the service is great and the ambiance is elevated. However the food doesn't have to be good and it most definitely was. The filet was cooked perfectly and the chicken was juicy and well paired. Bread varieties as served before the meal and I especially liked the cornbread

Yelp
Wow! Amazing food was excellent steak was cooked perfect. Hands down some of the best Mac and cheese I've ever had, steak had great flavor. Sat at the bar and service was great, loved the inside very calm feeling and warm, food was amazing, would definitely go back. Highly recommend.

Yelp
It took almost 2 hours to get our food. My chicken dish was overcooked and tough. It was barely edible The puree and vegetables were cold. This was very disappointing especially because it is the Ritz Carlton after all! Needless to say, we will not come to this restaurant again.

Yelp
The service was exceptional. The food was very tasteful. I'm in love with their drinks. Upscale and classy. I will be returning.

Yelp
I loved coming here during our stay at the Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta. I loved the breakfast menu and the service. We also had Thanksgiving dinner here. The service and the food were great. I really enjoyed the special Georgia Peach dessert.

Yelp
Great steaks at this establishment, and the ambience was impeccable the utmost in style. I must admit that the atmosphere is that of your low light classic restaurants. The service was superb and timely. Perfect fit for any special occasion and set in one of America's finest hotels, the Ritz Carlton. The one take away is that the menu could be a little more extensive.

Yelp
Service: perfect, checked up on us at all the correct times making sure everything was perfect. Ambviance: quiet and romantic: everything we could wish for. Food: amazing. We each got an entree: me the ribeye and her the salmon and both were incredible. Dessert they tried to make it extra special with lots of rose peddles all over the table with an amazing peach dessert.

Michael B.

Yelp
All time terrible service for a "fine"dining establishment. Waited 20-25 minutes for service in a mostly empty restraint while waiter was behind bar talking to two colleagues and watching football game, then got the wrong order. Paid and left with food uneaten and wine undrank. Miserable experience. Impressively, nobody there is even aware of or attuned to customer behaviour or experience as they just talk to themselves. Off to Chic-Fil-A to actually eat

Yelp
I have to say before I write this, that I really wanted this not to be true for the Ritz Carlton, and the Atlanta Grill. There were 5 of us, looking to have dinner in Atlanta after a day of sightseeing. We had been in town for tech conference the previous week. So we arrive at the the Ritz Carlton and were greeted by two female hostesses and a male in his late 20's mid 30's (who I learned later was the manager of the restaurant). We asked to be seated and we were asked first if we had a reservation and when we replied no, we were told that they didn't have table inside that would accommodate our party of 5. We expressed that we really wanted to sit inside and we were told that all tables that would accommodate us were spoken for. One of the hostesses, who happened to be African American made it really clear that we couldn't be seated...and the manager said that he would make every effort to get us seated, despite the tables big enough to accommodate us being taken. We were okay with waiting as we were hungry and really wanted a decent meal. Now from the time we walked up to the hostess podium, we knew immediately that there was something not quite right about this whole situation. So the fact that we were a group of 5 people of color, 4 women and one male...we were dressed in casual clothing...as we had just spent day of sightseeing around town...humid Atlanta! So after about 10-15 mins, the manager came and got us and told us he could now seat us...now we walk through the restaurant to our table and I will say that there were MANY open, vacant tables and the restaurant was quite large. So we follow the manager to our table, which happened to be ALL the way in the back and it was the only table that was enclosed and had curtains...so not only was it secluded it was also DARK! Did we feel like we were put "in the corner in the dark, and way in the back"? Hmmmm! So the waiter comes over and he introduces himself and it just felt condescending! Now I will give him the benefit of the doubt, he was Dutch and sometimes the culture difference can be different. So we were deciding on what we wanted, a waiter comes over with bread and drops it on the table...now there is a difference between placing a dish on the table and dropping it, so that the bread sticks fall onto the table. Now not only did he drop it, a breadstick falls off and he starts to walk away and I had to ask him to replace the one that a fell on the table...he responded as if I asked him for his first born! We ordered drinks...one of our party wanted a drink that had cognac, now I don't know but I have been to a few bougie places and they always tell you what kind of cognac they have and give you a choice. We were at the Ritz Carlton, wouldn't you think that would be true here too? They brought her drink and the house cognac was Remy...she didn't care for it and sent it back. Assuming that Remy was her choice...she wasn't happy. Anyhow...it didn't get better with the wine, so let me just stop there on this one. We ordered our food...and thank God...the food was good...let me say that we were all annoyed by this time and so we probably should have left, but I was starving and wanted to eat. Two of us ordered meals and the others ordered mac and cheese, and one didn't order. Food came and thank goodness it was amazing, so the one star is for the food! I am writing all this because it doesn't matter how good the food is, if you aren't treated well. We all deserve to be treated well and not be made to feel like we are worthy of sitting at a table in the open and not hidden away like we were dirty or something! Or since we were all black, like we didn't belong there! It was definitely a feeling we all felt... We ate and we paid the bill, we tipped as we normally would...and on the way out, I asked to speak to the manager. So the young man we met at the beginning came out. And so I told him what our experience was and I hate it when you are telling someone what our experience is, that they try to tell you that they don't mean for it to be that way...I just told you what it was! So I have to just say that we were treated like we didn't belong, or that we couldn't afford to eat there....everyone at the table was a professional...3 of the 5 were software engineers...but we definitely felt like what they saw first was color! So the manager asked me what they could do for us...and so my reply was..."I didn't tell you all this for you to do anything but to do better...this is the Ritz Carlton, and you should do way better than this!" So I hope that this isn't anyone else's experience, and I have to say I was very disappointed that in 2022 in Atlanta, GA...this still happens! And I didn't bother taking pictures of the food!

Yelp
Visiting from New Mexico. My fiancé and I wanted to have a fancy dinner during our stay and we found AG! We were able to make reservations and got seated right away. Our waiter, Vangel was amazing. He has been at the Ritz for over 20 years and he was so so friendly. He had such a great energy that was very welcoming. We ordered the dozen seasonal oysters as our appetizer. It came with a classic mignonette and horseradish. Tasted fresh and better with the mignonette. I ordered a medium rare New York strip loin with a Cajun rub and It was delicious. The meat was tender and juicy. The rub was a savory but sweet aftertaste and it was cooked beautifully. My fiancé also ordered a medium rare New York strip loin special of the night, which I can't remember what came with it but he said it was one of the best steaks he has tasted. We ended the night with a peach mousse dessert that Vangel had brought out. Overall a night to remember!

Yelp
Ugh. Worst experience ever. First slowest service ever. They have very few gluten-free or dairy-free, or vegetarian options. When asked to accommodate my food allergies, they argued with me and messed up my dish twice. Do not eat here.

Yelp
No street entrance, we had to enter via Ritz Carlton valet area. Cute & casual. Everything was tasty and reasonably priced. The service was great, everyone was polite and attentive. Heads up the bathroom is a far walk from the restaurant.

Yelp
Came in for breakfast, had the shrimp and grits and mimosas! The serving size was perfect and the gravy in the shrimp and grits was delicious! I just wish they had bottomless mimosas ;) . Great service too!

Yelp
Came here for lunch. Had a really really good tuna melt. The ambiance was pretty cool - like a classy tavern. The service was ok, by Atlanta standards

Yelp
Thank you to our server, Arnold! Great food and service. All the sides, my steak were perfect.

Yelp
Went this past weekend to have dinner with a girlfriend to catch-up and the service was great! The hostess and server were so nice even though we were the last table to come before closing. Drinks and food were also amazing! Get the Duck Medium(chef recommended) with red wine sauce and Mac and cheese!

Service at AG is 5/5. Our server, and everyone we interacted with, were the definition of southern hospitality. Food was good but not mind blowing. I had the fillet and it was a standard fillet. I got the potato gratin on the side and it did not have an exciting flavor. We ended the meal with the apple cobbler which was nice, but did have a bit of a burnt flavor on the crust.

Yelp
My friends & I got lucky tonight when a reservation suddenly got cancelled. It was a very long day, & we just wanted a really good meal. Needless to say Atlanta Grill exceeded our expectations. I got the New York Shirloin (medium), & it was absolutely delicious. In addition, the staff was nice & timely and the place was spotless. Will definitely swing by again if I am in Atlanta again.

Yelp
Cute furniture inside, good service, but be warned that the Caesar salad literally comes with an actual anchiove on top of it! Chicken sandwich was just ok.

Yelp
Here for the Eagles concert. Visited this steakhouse. Was not able to get reservations online but we were lucky enough to walk in and get seated. Interestingly the restaurant was pretty empty. The food was excellent. Had the prime ribs and filet mignon. The steak was melt in the mouth mouth watering. The house salad was one of the best salads I have ever had. The bread was crusty and fresh. Desert was wonderful . Service was incredible and our waiterArnold was absolutely the best.

Yelp
Fantastic service, excellent food, and a cozy yet classic atmosphere make this a wonderful dining experience. We came here for my daughter's birthday dinner, and the staff really took great care in making her feel special. They gave us some complimentary grapes and bread to start, which were both fresh and super tasty. Our entrees were exquisitely prepared and served piping hot. I got the bronzino, which was fresh with crispy skin on the outside and moist on the inside. The accompanying veggies and mashed potatoes were some of the best I've had and really added to the dish. My wife had the chicken which was flavorful but a bit dry at one end. The chicken tenders were great; both of my kids approved them. We finished off dinner with a complimentary dessert of ice cream and brownies. My daughter was skeptical at first since it seemed so plain, but as soon as she tasted 1 bite she couldn't stop eating more; it was that good! We had a great time and I whole heartedly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for an amazing dining experience.

Yelp
We came for breakfast after staying the night in the Ritz. The service was a little slow but everyone was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast potatoes were really good - nice and crispy with good flavor and I enjoyed my eggs as well. The omelet was a hit as well!

Yelp
Came here for breakfast early one Sunday morning during our stay at the Ritz. There were only a few guests dining at the time. Staff was friendly. We were seated inside and after a few minutes, we decided we wanted to sit outside. Our server accommodated our request with no issue. After our server found out that we had just gotten married, she brought two complimentary mimosas to our table with a congratulations. We ordered the following: Eggs benedict with smoked salmon Pig and Grits Coffee Being attached to the Ritz, we had high expectations and unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. Although the food looked very appetizing, it lacked flavor. Our meals were very bland. I am a bit sensitive to salt and I could hardly taste any in my pig and grits. Overall, the food was just OK. The prices were reasonable. Service was wonderful.

Yelp
Came here for an intimate Valentine's Day dinner. The quality of service is what I would expect at a Ritz property. The wait staff was attentive and quick to respond. It wasn't crowded considering... COVID. I was surprised that the menu was limited but not prix fixed for the holiday. It was modified for the ridiculous number of children in town for a cheer competition. I was never bothered by the cheer competitors but I'd want a dress code for this type of resturant especially on valentine's. I'm a sucker for a good steak and I've had dreams of this tomahawk steak. I had the tomahawk with no additional sides. It was accompanied by a summer squash melody, grilled zucchini, and roasted cherry tomatoes with some type of puree. The tomahawk comes with all sauces. My favorite was the chimchurri and a close second is the AG Steak sauce. The steak was perfectly cut off the bone and sliced in perfect cuts. The presentation was a huge butcher block. My partner had the grilled salmon and risotto. I didnt get to try it because I was stuck in steak. The salmon looked perfectly flakey. I suggest getting it medium in lieu of medium-well done. The iconic AG Peach dessert was amazing. It wasnt huge but after eating 32oz of steak sharing the dessert felt right. If you're coming for dinner, valet your car for free. Your wait staff with validate the parking.

Yelp
I definitely like the restaurant it self. It's located on the second fl of the Ritz and they do offer free valet parking. The restaurant practiced good social distancing with dividers. The hostess was such a sweet woman and had the cutest glassses with pearls on them. Lol now onto my favorite part of these reviews.. THE FOOD The birdie 16$ - this drink was super spicy. It tasted like there was chili powder in it but it was actually Fresno peppers. The grapefruit soda was not present as far as flavor. I'm in between on if I would recommend. If you don't like spicy don't get this drink Beef tartar 20$ - to sum it up it tasted like corn beef but it was service with bread and was actually really amazing. This was probably the best thing they had on the menu. Bone in Filet Mignon 65$ - I ordered this medium and it was sadly over cooked and was lacking flavor. Was not a fan of the spooned red wine sauce on the plate. Kind of a let down honestly Seared Sixty-South Antarctic Salmon 37$ - It tasted like a salmon. The common theme at this restaurant is a lack in flavor. Grilled asparagus 10$ - the best thing next to the beef tar tar. Cooked perfectly and seasoned amazingly. Dessert - Indulge 10$. The caramel cheesecake mousse was just not good. The graham cracker sea salt icecream was very enjoyable. The jack daniels bread pudding was just okay. The macaroons were amazing It's unfortunate because the reviews seem to be pretty good overall but for me I would not recommend. The lacking of flavor makes it not worth it. Pair that with the lack of signature drinks it's just not a place I could see myself wanting to talk about.

Yelp
I expected to be WOW'd for breakfast here but unfortunately it was very underwhelming. We waited a little over 50 minutes for our food to arrive. We had a three person party and order two banana pudding french toast dishes and one pancake dish. Although there were multiple tables that sat down after us that order pancakes and few other dishes we were told multiple times that our food would be coming but it did not. Furthermore, when the french toast dishes finally came out and then we still had to wait another 5 minutes for the "rushed" pancakes which happened to be very undercooked. You could tell since the pancake batter still was runny on the inside. They were able to make new ones which took an additional 8 minutes. We were comped for the pancakes but at that point we were over the experience. The dishes did look good and they did not taste bad however we were just confused on the timing and issues.

Yelp
Not enough kind words for the jewel, tucked inside the infamous Ritz Carlton Hotel. The ambiance truly set the tone for a high class, breathe-easy dinner. Deep woods and dark tones made for intimate conversation. The waiter, "Z," has been there for 10 years and truly mastered the artistry of hospitality. He kindly walked us through the menu, romancing the dishes and flavorings. After our wine decision and presentation, he offered us a complimentary sherry-based crab soup, which was argumentatively the best we've ever sampled. Our food was timely and perfected in plate and palette. I tempted into the Waygu beef, which allowed me the freedom to cook it on my personal salt block. Z walked me through this process and certainly added to the moment witH his great flair for conversation and personality. We also indulged in the crabmeat ribeye, which was a sensational medium rare. To round it out, we finished with the raspberry cheesecake, and Z even garnished it with strawberry ice cream. To say we'll be back is an understatement.

Yelp
I love the Ritz and I was so excited to have brunch at AG while visiting Atlanta for a solo weekend trip. It's located on the 2nd floor and as I was walking up, I noticed there were 3 tables available on the outdoor space. 2 were tables for 2 and 1 was a 4 top. I went upstairs and stood at the hostess stand... waiting.... for 8 minutes. After 2 minutes I looked at my watch. After 4 minutes I went and stood inside the restaurant and waiters just looked at me. Even the bartender gave me a glance. It was clear I was waiting for the hostess. No one helped me. Finally she came out (8 minutes later) and I asked if it was still brunch hours. It was. I asked if I could please have a table for 1, preferably on the outdoor terrace. She told me it was completely full. I asked her to please check, I had noticed a few open tables as I was walking. She went outside, apologized, and told me she'd seat me. She proceeded to ask me my name several times (between other questions) so she could type it into her computer. She kept forgetting she had already asked my name. I wanted to tell her that IT DIDN'T matter, I just wanted to sit for brunch. As I sat outside, 15 minutes passed. I'm not joking. 15 minutes. No server came by, no water, nothing. There were plenty of waiters walking around and I tried to flag them down several times. Nothing. I AM NOT A QUIET PERSON. I was prepared to have a $100 brunch to myself. With blood orange mimosas at $20 a pop and me = ready to have at least 3-4, I can't tell you HOW SAD I was when I finally stood up, gracefully told the hostess "Please, when you newly seat someone, alert the waiter". And left. I will never be back, and ah, Atlanta, you are on my list of places to travel to monthly. In an establishment that prides itself (and in my experience, always proves itself!) on service, I was so disappointed. However, if you ever want to feel like you have the super power of being invisible... come here.

Yelp
I can't begin to tell you how amazing this restaurant is, from the beautiful ambiance located inside the Ritz Carlton, to the most delicious food. I had the filet mignon, my friend the New York strip loin, we shared the whipped mash, Brussel sprouts, and received the yummiest complimentary tomato soup and bread and wow the famous peach dessert as well as the flourless chocolate cake, beyond. But honestly besides the food and ambiance, our waiter Vangel made the entire experience. He was so unbelievable warm, kind, knowledgeable about the food and also being new to Atlanta, he provided us with recommendations and fun facts about various areas. He truly made our dinner an unforgettable one. We'd come back just to see Vangel again! Thank you for the most amazing night!

Yelp
Although the new hostess proved herself to be overly concerned with people unlike herself, with my party and another party of people I did not know, the experience was great. Our server, Tom (?, I'll correct if I'm remembering his name wrong), turned a majorly negative start into one of my top three amazing customer service experiences. We were there on the 4th of July for my BF's Birthday. He was uber friendly, attentive, and had wonderful personality and suggestions. The manager (GM?) who came to check on us was also very nice and extremely helpful. He was truly concerned with us having a positive experience and it showed. SN: We ordered a Tomahawk steak. I'm pretty sure the chef thought we didn't know what one was supposed to look like because the one that came out was the size of a Delmonico at STK. A bit disappointing but allll of the food tasted amazing. I loved the brussels sprouts. We all agreed we would happily return!!!

Yelp
My friends and I stopped by to have a nice meal, but we were sadly disappointed. The presentation of the food was great, however everything lacked flavor. I got some seafood pasta and I didn't enjoy it that much. The seafood tasted somewhat fresh, but I couldn't finish my plate. I also order truffle mac and cheese and I didn't like it one bit. The service and the venue was the best part about the experience. I wouldn't suggest coming here.

Yelp
On a business trip in Atlanta and decided to join a group of coworkers at AG for dinner We were seated promptly and greeted with immediate service. We began with wine: the server bought us several to try before we decided and cocktails - everyone was a fan We tried the oysters which were fresh and shucked perfectly and while the rest of the party enjoyed steak ( judging by the clean plates they were liked) I had the Hamachi which was good but maybe could use a tad more heat. The sides were great especially the sprouts but be aware that portions are cup sized though they said they were family style Bread pudding is a must for dessert!! That we loved. All in all, great service, wine selection and food. Would visit again when returning to the city

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant but food is not good, ridiculous portions and expensive . My husband ordered the cornish hen because he loves them and I don't and he makes amazing steaks on the big green egg. He ordered caesar salad and the lettuce was mostly the ends and no anchovies to be found. I ordered fried green tomatoes and they were cold. My entree was scallops, 3 over corn for $39. My riesling wine was warm. But the cornish hen was a joke. 1/2 and shriveled up and dried out with nothing else on the plate. He sent it back and got nothing. So disappointing.

Yelp
We ended up here because dragon con attendees had taken over every other restaurant in the area and this was one of the few places without an hour wait. We were seated and waited for a while to be acknowledged by a server. Our server did bring drinks quickly once he took our order though. The menu was a bit small - I ordered the pimento chicken biscuit and fries, it was pretty good but definitely over cooked. The fries were amazing though! They do have a brunch buffet that sounded good before we arrived! The reason for three stars was the slower service and the cost - this place was pretty pricey considering the quality and quantity of the lunch. $20+ for a sandwich or burger is a big much for the quality.

Yelp
I had a light dinner here with friends before attending a convention. The meatballs and She Crab Soup were very good. I look forward to trying out the rest of the menu another night soon.
