Italian sandwich shop with quality meats, cheeses, and breads
"When it opened, Alidoro was everyone’s new favorite underground Italian sandwich spot. Now they’re in underground malls, and we wouldn’t be surprised if they start setting up kiosks in Whole Foods soon. For the most part, Alidoro sticks to the basics: prosciutto, sopressata, fresh mozzarella, etc. Sandwiches top out at $15, and they come in all sorts of combinations. Somewhere on the menu you’ll find your sandwich-equivalent of Cinderella’s glass slipper. Most people do takeout at this location, but they do have a few small tables." - kenny yang, carlo mantuano, hannah albertine, bryan kim
"Find an outpost of this cult-favorite Italian sandwich shop on the rink level of Rockefeller Center, toward the back near of the concourse near Blue Bottle Coffee. The menu offers hot and cold options like cheesesteaks, breakfast sandwiches, and more." - Melissa McCart
"If you eat Subway once a week, we want you to know there are better options out there, such as the counter-service spot Alidoro. You can build your own Italian sub here with ingredients like burrata, fennel, and olive paste. Or, you can get one of their house creations with names like Marcello and Fiorello. Whether you’re in the mood for prosciutto, speck, or mortadella, you’ll find something that sounds good." - bryan kim, will hartman, hannah albertine, kenny yang
"If you work around Bryant Park, pick one day of the week to be “Alidoro day” and slowly work your way through the long list of hot, cold, and breakfast sandwiches at this outpost of a beloved Italian sandwich shop (the original location is in Soho). There’s plenty of seating, and on days when absolutely nothing but a fancy cheesesteak can improve your mood, they have one—with both black garlic mustard and truffle cream on it." - bryan kim, neha talreja, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah
"Alidoro is selling their extra virgin olive oil to the public for the first time ever, and 20% of the profits go directly to World Central Kitchen. They’re also partnering with Off Their Plate to donate and deliver sandwiches to hospital workers at NYU Langone. You can learn more about both initiatives here, and place an order for regular pick-up or delivery on their website here." - hannah albertine
