Añejo Review - Hell's Kitchen - New York - The Infatuation

"Añejo Tequileria is one of the best restaurants in New York, assuming you’re either 1) on a diet, 2) looking for a second dinner, or 3) just had your stomach stapled. We say that because while it's pretty good, the food here isn't really the focus. The menu is actually quite short - there are many more pages of tequila options than there are things to eat. We found that to be a bit odd for a Top Chef-helmed restaurant. Añejo is the brainchild of season who-knows-what contestant, Angelo Sosa. He was the guy that didn't win, but the guys hated and the girls loved. Or maybe the girls hated him and the guys loved him. Who can remember anymore. You get the point. You also might remember Angelo from the first establishment he opened after his stint on the show, Social Eatz, which has since closed...probably because of the Z. We liked that restaurant, and there are some things we like about Añejo too, even though its food offerings are a bit limited. As we said earlier, what is on the menu here is pretty good. But they also take the “small” in “small plates” really seriously. We almost had to start a new category called “Perfect For: Tiny Servings” for this review. So if you come here starving and looking to stuff your face with Mexican food until you can’t walk, know that you’ll have to order just about everything they offer, and are likely to end up with a bill as big as the one you get from Time Warner Cable every month by the time you're done. But if you’re just looking for a couple good tacos and a killer tequila selection, this is your spot. And the margarita that the Village Voice called the best in NYC last year? Yeah, it’s pretty damn good, and you’ll get more than three sips out of it. The rest of their tequila-based cocktails are worth trying too. The only problem that we have with Añejo other than the price/food ratio is the space itself. It’s always full and the crowd is usually attractive, but the tables are so tightly packed that every seat in the place might as well be at a communal table. That's good for creating a lively atmosphere and a few opportunities for eavesdropping, but you don’t have nearly as much space as you’d expect to when you’re spending $14 on a plate of two tacos. Particularly all the way out here on 10th Avenue. Añejo could be a great neighborhood hang if they dropped the prices a bit and got rid of a few tables. As it is, this is a better place for drinking than eating. Food Rundown Guacamole The most disappointing thing on the menu. It’s little more than mashed up avocados, and the chips are under-fried and dripping with grease. We have a little trouble recommending a Mexican place with such boring guacamole, but the rest of the menu is good enough that it makes up for it. Salsa Selection Añejo charges $8 for a sampling of three different types of salsas, served with the same under-fried, greasy chips. Skip these too, and go straight for the tacos and tamales. Tacos Some of these were fantastic, some were unimpressive. The fantastic ones were the pork and shrimp. The unimpressive were the fish and short rib. They were both a little dry, and there was one tiny strip of fried fish in each of the fish tacos. More like a fish stick taco, am I right? Tamales The chorizo tamale was excellent. The sweet corn provided a nice contrast to the chorizo, and it was covered in cheese. We’ve never complained about that. Rabbit Mole A perfect example of how seriously they take their “small” plates here. There was so little meat on this plate that “baby bunny” would have been a more accurate than “rabbit”. That said, the mole sauce was great - a little hot and a little sweet and the meat was nice and tender. Just give us some more of it." - Sweatshorts

17 Tequila Temples With Outstanding Agave-Based Drinks

"Any venue naming itself after the aged tequila better deliver on the brown agave. Luckily, Hell’s Kitchen’s Añejo, decked out with Day of the Dead-style murals, has a respectable list of dozens of tequilas, separated by their highlands and lowlands origins. The flights provide an introduction to hard-to-find spirits. There’s an additional location in Tribeca." - Paul Schrodt, Eater Staff

"Exposed wooden beams on the ceilings and plentiful bar-height tables and chairs make this a cozy, yet lively hideout on frigid nights (both the Tribeca and Midtown locations are decorated in the same warm, rustic style). With plenty of small plates like guacamole, ceviche, and tacos, the menu is all about traditional Mexican cuisine. In keeping with the theme, the beverage program offers a long list of tequilas, which can always be ordered straight. "

I recently visited a fantastic Mexican restaurant with a warm, inviting atmosphere and excellent service. The staff was attentive and friendly, which really enhanced the experience. I particularly loved the cauliflower taco—flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The shrimp empanadas were another standout, crispy on the outside and deliciously tender inside. However, the octopus was a bit too tough to chew, which was disappointing compared to the other dishes. On the plus side, they have a great happy hour menu with great deals. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience, and I’d definitely return!

Google
Good spot to grab some Mexican food. The location, the staff, and price are just perfect. We went by with the family and had a great time. I’ll give this place another shot because of the staff and service! They were amazing. The food was a bit shy of what I expected but the drinks were amazing. Both ceviche were lacking the kick but that’s the first time I’ve had ceviche from a Mexican spot so maybe that’s how they do it. Keep up the good work guys! I love how cozy the venue feels, you can identify where you are just by the design.

Tom Rush

Google
Very delicious, excellent service and unbelievably great food! The cauliflower tacos (recommended by our great server) were a huge flavor surprise, so well done! I cannot wait to return, highly recommended.

Google
Loved it great atmosphere, they where great with my service dog. Loved the skirt steak, my friend J.LO has nachos and some red wine we were happy. I have. Rottweiler Service Paramedic dog. Thomas was our waiter he was amazing so sweet and he loved my dog too.

Google
Got a shrimp taco. That was good. The chicken platter dish was very basic. The rice had less salt, the chicken thigh skin was chewy. The dish overall was very dry with no extra sides given on the table. Ordered hot salsa and chips. The salsa was more like an orange hot sauce. The chips tasted stale and were a bit raw and hard. Overall wouldn’t recommend the place for food as such.

Robert Murphy

Google
Great Mexican food here and a great lunch menu. The restaurant is beautiful inside and outside. The food was all fresh, cooked properly and flavorful. Would return anytime. Special call out to the chips and salsa— amazing!

Neal Rush

Google
Incredible spot for real genuine Mexican food. Everything was freshly cooked and so so tasty. The pork belly was the highlight for us. Absolutely incredible. Staff were also incredibly helpful and efficient. Really really recommend.

Scott Adam

Google
Amazing happy hour! Had the pork yucca fries which were so delicious and topped with plenty of pork, and the chicken empanada, which was perfectly crispy. My only gripe is they serve 3-sips-and-they’re-done margaritas, lol. Great atmosphere too. Definitely recommend!!

Yelp
My mother and I went to this restaurant because we needed to get something to eat near our hotel before seeing a Broadway show. The service was OK. We ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer, and the salt on the chips were not evenly distributed. Some chips were bland and tasted still, while others tasted like an entire bottle of salt was on one ship. My mother and I ordered tacos, and they were some of the best tacos that we have ever had. In my opinion, the tacos alone make up for everything else that we either did not like, or were indifferent different about with this restaurant. The tacos alone are enough of a reason to visit this spot!
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
The service was good. But the food was flavorless for mexican food. The octopus was well cooked but it didnt have any flavor. The margaritas seem like they were not shaken before pouring them into the glass.

Yelp
We were on our way to another restaurant in mid town when we passed by Añejo. Must have been fate that the other place ended up closed for Labor Day, because we came back and had a great meal. We came in around 5:45 and they had no problem getting us in and out comfortably before our show at 7. We started with the Salsa quatro sampler, followed by the Pork belly tostadas and Carne arrechera. The white sauce and the salsa verde were my favorite 2 salsas of the bunch. I highly recommend the carne arrechera. The beef was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the pickled vegetables that came with it were tasty too. I don't normally find the side of rice and beans interesting enough to finish, but they were delicious here.
google avatar

Shemesh Y.

Yelp
We came for happy hour. The A/C was blasting to the point we had to put our jackets on! The sangria was good; empanadas were not very special (but were inexpensive too, so..); queso fondido was nice and cheesy (but quickly got too cold and tough as it was so cold inside the restaurant), and th loaded yuca fries were delicious and refreshing. I love a good Happy Hour

Yelp
Everything was super flavorful and fresh. Staff was speedy and attentive and the atmosphere very charming. Good value for the money spent on food; a definite stop for foodies.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Overall food was good and bottomless brunch with chips and guac plus an entree was $55 so is a good deal. The actual drink was not the best and was on the more sour side (I got the margarita). If you're looking for high quality cocktails look else where but if looking for good food and a bargain you're at the right place!
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
Had a get together with coworkers for happy hour. Food was delicious and the drinks were good as well.

Yelp
The pork belly tostadas are so freaking delicious. The chef is literally brilliant! The yucca fries perfectly cooked wherever I order them they're usually undercooked not here though. We also had the corn tamales with chorizo sauce and a poached egg really good dish too nice look small full bar friendly staff!

Marissa C.

Yelp
Date night here with great flavors and great service. Brussels and chorizo was our favorite. Corn dumplings were also good. A very good experience here.
google avatar

Yelp
of course, I found this place on Yelp, it was so cute inside. It's in hell's kitchen, which is my favorite part of the city lol the margaritas were okay, could've been stronger my opinion, but of course that's just my personal preference. The service was really great. Everyone was so nice, the food was really good. My friends will definitely want to go back, especially to try the margarita and tequila flight. The brussels sprouts were so good! And the rice and beans were delicious.
google avatar

Janvi G.

Yelp
The food was okay, not too great. Had the cauliflower tacos which were alright. The chips and guacamole were really good though. Also comes with a lot of spicy sauces which was nice.
google avatar

Jenny P.

Yelp
Food: standard guac, great salsa cuatro! Habanero salsa and salsa verde had good amount of substance - not too liquidy or watery. Great flavor. Chips were a tad too hard on my teeth but maybe just my aging teeth...still crunched on them and enjoyed. My colleagues had tacos, of which they raved - one from SoCal near Baja said it was decent which is a high praise. I had the shrimp empanadas and they give you 3 minis yet stuffed and cheesy and delish Service: no frills, friendly Ambiance: no frills, clean, casual
google avatar

Janice H.

Yelp
The pork belly tostada app was good, but not sure if it was large or tasty enough to be worth the price! Churros were also solid but it's hard to mess that up. Everything okay here, nothing bad, but there's definitely better places in the city.
google avatar

Frank G.

Yelp
The tacos are packed with great ingredients. The margaritas are top-notch. The guacamole with housemade chips is great. The place is always packed for a reason.
google avatar

Sheetal K.

Yelp
The food and service was great! A little dark inside but that seems to be the vibe. I didn't mind it! The food was great! The goat cheese guac was different in a good way! Had the mushroom quesadillas and they were able to modify some dishes to accommodate the kids which we appreciated! Totally would recommend this spot!

Yelp
Service was great and friendly! Cocktails were strong and delicious. Food lacked a little bit of depth but average.

Yelp
A wonderful place to grab some bites and a drink with friends, a date or even solo. I stopped in for dinner while waiting to meet a friend later in the evening. I chose the chicken empanadas, corn dumplings and chips and guacamole. I elected for the Anejo margarita to round out my meal. The empanadas were my favorite. They were doughy, flavorful and satisfying. There was a nice smattering of sea salt on the outside which was a nice surprise and added to the overall taste. The corn dumplings were also very good, there were 4, some with meat and all very good. The sauce underneath was a nice accompaniment to them. The guacamole was great to smother on the empanadas and dumplings for extra flavor. Service was attentive and nice, not intrusive. Cute place and definitely recommend.

Yelp
Small quaint Mexican restaurant with awesome food and hitting drinks. Had rhe pleasure of having dinner before seeing a show nearby. Started out with drinks a charro old fashioned that had me feeling nice of rhe 1st sip. Definitely strong flavored and well made. On the menu it has beer battered fish tacos but I prefer grilled fish and I asked server if the kitchen would be able to grill the fish instead of frying it and she said yes and the grilled fish tacos were superb !!! Decided to add to dinner some Brussels sprouts and they were so good. To top off an all ready FANTABULOUS meal tried the Tres Leches cake and it had the perfect hint of coconut and sweetness. Definitely would recommend Anejo for the ambiance, great food and drinks. Trust me your gonna love it !!!

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled across this place before a show at the Pershing theater and what a find!! We loved everything about this place; vibe, food, drinks, friendliness of the staff, AND a bomb a** happy hour. The cocktails were absolutely delicious, even the espresso martini had real espresso in it. The spicy tequila they make in house was delish but very spicy so he asks if you want mild, medium, or hot... be honest lol The nachos were probably some of the best I've had, and a great portion. The tacos were fresh tasting and everything had such great flavor. Would definitely come back!!
google avatar

Yelp
*Updated Review* It has been years since visiting, but it is still a solid choice for margaritas! We did the margarita flights, and it was a great way to try different ones. We didn't order food, but the menu looked great. Reservations are recommended if dining in. We sat at the bar. I found the bartenders a tad standoffish. They didn't really engage. I would visit again though.

Yelp
Im so happy I stumbled into Anejo after the first 3 places I initially tried to have a bite had 0 tables & long waits. Thankfully not only did Anejo have tables but there was no wait! The restaurant itself is small to medium sized but typical for NYC. There is a full bar that you can sit at & a few different sized table choices. I want to say its tapas style but I could be wrong but the portion size of most of the items gives that vibe. I tried the fish tacos which were pretty good. The fish was perfectly golden fried. Sadly there were out of the shrimp ceviche so I tried the Tuna Ceviche & it was decent. For drinks I went with the Mezcal Margarita (i think) & it was SPICY but I love the smokiness of mezcal. I also tried the dessert Espresso Martini & I have to say it was the best one I have had! Perfect blend of espresso, vodka & cream. I would have had another if the bill wasn't over $230. I would for sure go back!

Yelp
Ate here with a friend before going to see a show on broadway. We had no problems making a last minute reservation and were promptly seated. Beautiful space and music. Waitress was attentive and gave us good recommendations! The pork belly tostada was sooo good-- I also enjoyed the shrimp tacos and the churros. I had a mojito mocktail which was good but I little on the tangy side. Guac and corn were average.
google avatar

Cheryl M.

Yelp
Guacamole was good but the salsas weren't what we expected, more like sauces. We shared the beef and chicken tacos and they weren't great. I didn't finish the beef one as it was pretty bland. The host brought us a complimentary tequila shot so we really appreciated the unexpected nice surprise.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food, great staff! Had a party of 30 and all details were coordinated well with Liz. Thank you !

Yelp
Great restaurant, great food , good combination for tapas, we ordered tacos, amd empanadas and good service, love this place

Yelp
Great spot for a Friday happy hour - drinks and snacks. The blanco margarita with spicy salt was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. What's better than chips and salsa - FOUR different salsas! Tacos and nachos were both fresh and flavorful. Portions were perfect. Amanda was an amazing waitress; attentive and super friendly! Our group of 3 lucked out without a reservation for happy hour, but it got pretty full by time we left around 6:30 so definitely consider a reservation for dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered: Blanco Margarita (HH price ~$8) Traditional Guacamole (HH price ~$8) Tomato Chipotle Fundido (HH price ~$7): melted quesillo cheese, chipotle sofrito, and warm corn tortillas Nachos (HH price ~$8): crispy corn tortillas topped with black beans, melted cheese, salsa, and guacamole 2pc Fish Taco (~$17): beer-battered mahi mahi, poblano slaw, and lime aioli on flour tortillas 2pc Beef Birria Taco (~$17): tortilla crisped in birria oil with slow-braised short rib, salsa arbol, queso chihuahua, onions, cilantro, and consommé for dipping Aya's take: Picture this: it's the first warm day of the year and you & your friends decide to stop by for tacos & margaritas around 5:30pm on a Friday. Happy Hour is still going on (M-F 3pm-6pm) and you start ordering half the menu. The food on the Happy Hour menu is pretty solid. Everything we got was delicious with the Nachos being a major highlight for me. The Margarita is definitely smaller than their usual and was sloppily made. It's like each one I ordered was "less pretty" than the last. Just because it's Happy Hour, doesn't mean you serve something totally different than expected. Both the Fish & Beef Birria Tacos were delicious. I like that you can choose between 2 or 3 tacos per order, but each taco coming out to ~$9 is a bit outrageous even for NYC's standards. All in all, I had a great time at Añejo. It wouldn't be my go-to spot for Mexican but it was a good try with a decent Happy Hour selection.
google avatar

Yelp
I need to start off with: food was amazing!! The service was quick and we were able to move our table inside and enjoy the ambiance. It was dark but still well lit, and people were gathered by the bar as well. We were greeted by a waiter who provided recommendations for entrees and appetizers. I personally ordered the Beef Birria tacos and the flavor was great. I was entranced by the seasoning used in the soup as well as the tacos. A must order for taco lovers!! Furthermore, portions were great for their price. The bean and rice on the side was essentially its own meal, but we were some hungry eaters last night. Only one downside, the chips were a little hard. But the salsa and guac options it came with, made up for the hardness.
google avatar

Evon S.

Yelp
Small restaurant with nicely presented dishes. I would recommend this restaurant for happy hour to grab a nice bite and drinks. The food was good and the service was friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Anejo has been on my list of places to try since moving to the Big Apple. I HIGHLY recommend going during lunch as it's way less busy. They do a great lunch special for $16 where I got a burrito, chips & salsa, plus rice and beans. The braised beef burrito and it was really good. I was also impressed with their different types of salsa. The mild was good but the spicy one was GREAT! The servers were really good as well, and made sure we were stocked with plenty of water and drinks throughout our meal. The posh dining area inside the restaurant was modern and very eye-catching with amazing decor.
google avatar

Holly W.

Yelp
Great food and friendly staff! Me and my family had the chicken enchiladas verde, corn dumplings, chicken empanadas, and beef birria tacos. Everything was really tasty and delicious!

Yelp
The food is good but not very authentic in my opinion and is also a bit on the expensive side but the restaurant is very nice and centrally located.

Yelp
Great places. Love the guacamole with chips and their tacos are sooooo gooood! Amazing atmosphere, waitress and all the staff were so friendly and amazing. Romantic vibes insides.. slow lights for a wonderful atmosphere. Really a great place..congrats

Yelp
Yummy cocktails and food was delicious. Friendly staff who were accommodating to our last minute larger party

Yelp
Went here post Saturday Matinee. Easy walk from Broadway Show. Funky, fun vibe. Lots of exposed brick, large bar, high and low tables, indoor/outdoor seating, large windows. Not a big place and they comfortably make the most of the space. Make a reservation. The food was yummy! Yummy! Yummy! Started with margaritas, guac and homemade chips. All good and recommend. My friend had enchiladas (she loved it). I had tuna ceviche and a squash side dish. Omg - the tuna service was fantastic. A week later and I can't stop thinking about it. Delish!!! We shared churros for dessert - came with three dipping sauces. The churros were small, crunchy and yummy. Different and still yummy.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday evening for dinner with a reservation and we were seated quite quickly. The space was super packed and pretty loud so I'd recommend calling ahead if you can and to be prepared for that sort of ambiance! Our server was super friendly and was more than willing to help us with the menu as well as make recommendations for sharing dishes as well as just overall requests for water and extra chips. Our food came out in a reasonable time as well and we weren't left too hungry or thirsty! The corn (esquites) was really fantastic. I love the concept of corn and cheese and other spices so it made it really delicious to eat, especially when it had just come out and it was still warm. I'd eat this one fast though as it cools down quite quickly! I enjoyed the salsa and guac combo. My favorite salsa was the white one which had some sour cream flavoring. The red orange one was pretty spicy just as a heads up as well while the green was tasty as well. The guac had a good mix of ingredients which made it overall feel like a very good, diverse dip overall. The tostadas were pretty delicious and well balanced flavor wise, I would just say that it wasn't worth the price. The dish itself was really yummy and the pork belly was cooked well so i was glad I tried it, I just don't know if I would order it again. Overall, really great dinner and we left feeling pretty satisfied. Thanks, Anejo!
google avatar

Daniel M.

Yelp
This place was disappointing. First of all, the lighting is terrible. I was using the lighting from the kitchen to see my menu. And I had to use the flash from my phone to see my plate when I received it. The portions were small for the price we paid and the food was mediocre. Two simple flavorless tacos for $16. Ahi ceviche that was sweet for some reason and didn't taste like ceviche. Drinks were great. The service was alright. Neither good or bad. Wouldn't recommend this place to be honest.
google avatar

Yanina L.

Yelp
Very nice neighborhood restaurant with tasty Mexican specialties and margaritas. Friendly service . Food is tasty and reasonably priced especially lunch specials. Margaritas a little bit pricy in my opinion. $15 for premixed margarita is little bit pricy I think. Overall nice experience.

Yelp
Añejo is definitely a cut above the rest. I've been to many Mexican/TexMex style resturants but Lord knows, I haven't come across one this good in a minute. Añejo should never change their formula. It was clear from the crowd that Añejo is a neighborhood favorite and this is especially true for the brunch crowd. The restaurant was buzzing with folks and the energy of the restaurant was electric. It's exactly what want for a festive/lively brunch. One could imagine that regular dinner hours are just as fabulous. I say again, everything and I mean everything was superb. At this point, I must point out their sorel sour cocktail and the pork belly appetizer. I could imagine having these two items in heavy rotation at least once a week. I picked Añejo by chance because it was on my NY Resturant Week list but didn't realize NYC RW is not offered on a Saturday. In spite of this, I decided to go with it and I'm glad I did. Añejo certainly impressed me on many levels. The service, food and ambience hit all its marks.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
Nice ambiance.. salsa verde and the spicy pineapple guacamole and chips were tasty.. my entree, not so much. I ordered the seafood enchiladas and although I'm not a fan of fish, the description said it was shrimp and scallops which I enjoy. However, they were fishy and at first bite, I considered sending it back due to odd taste. There were also potatoes which were mushy .. combination just wasn't that great. The Paloma bad margarita were okay but nothing to rave about.
google avatar

Allison S.

Yelp
The chips and salsa and guacamole were awesome. So flavorful. Guac is chunky and fresh. Chips are thick but definitely home made.
google avatar

Shu Jin S.

Yelp
The food here was good, and the service was also great. The ambiance was ok -- it can get extremely loud and you'll find yourself yelling to hear someone from across the table. My only warning to female diners is to KEEP AND EYE ON YOUR HANDBAG. I had the table that was closest to the kitchen and hung my purse on the back of my chair. When we were nearly done with our meal, I realized (too late) that my handbag was stolen. Someone had walked-in, pretending to wait for the restroom, talking on the phone and walked right out with my whole bag. My friend sitting across from me didn't even notice. The restaurant manager said "this happens all the time". Is the food good? Yes. Will I ever dine here again? Likely no. But if you do find yourself here, keep your belongings on your lap, or strapped to you. Better yet, choose a table that's tucked into the center, making it harder for thieves (who are getting away with these crimes, even at nice restaurants) to steal from you.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 6 people for 6pm Open table didn't have any more spots, but I called and they were able to give me a reservation. Side note: Happy hour is until 6pm I got the guacamole and salsa combo. The guacamole was fresh, and the server was really great about replenishing our chips! The chicken empanadas were so fresh and crispy and the salsa verde for dipping was delicious My friend had the wild mushroom quesadilla and stopped eating her tacos because the quesadilla was so good and she's rather eat that Carne asada was cooked perfectly and well seasoned The duck carnitas enchiladas was with shredded duck. I couldn't really taste the duck flavor, but it was satisfying We got a pitcher of margaritas for $60 and four of us got two glasses each from it.

Yelp
When we walked up to the restaurant we could smell the deliciousness wafting our way. Great Mexican restaurant with an excellent staff. We sat outside for the city feel. Highly recommend the chicken Al pastor and the cauliflower tacos!

Yelp
Anejo is such a gem!! I was in town for work and grateful to have found this spot near Times Square that didn't feel too touristy. The ambiance was very cozy and open air which was perfect for the spring day, and our service was amazing. The food was great but the cocktails were on point!! I got the fish tacos which I enjoyed, but based on what my table ordered, it seemed like the pork belly tostadas and the beef birria tacos were hits most recommended for the future!! I loved how the tostadas were bite size, so they had all of the crunch but less of a mess than a regular tostada! Everyone enjoyed their margaritas and sangria, as well! I personally got the Mendoza and LOVED IT! I don't typically enjoy tequila, but the Prosecco and passion fruit played so well with it and made for an amazing dry cocktail! I had two and would order another if I'm ever back. Highly recommend both the restaurant and cocktail! We got a reservation for 5 at peak dinner time a day ahead of time with no issue, and it appeared they were taking walk in's.

Yelp
What an amazing experience. The tuna ceviche was fresh but with a kick. Pork Belly Tostadas are to die for. Ask for Lily as your server. She makes the best recommendations.

Yelp
Really wonderful place with some great food and good service. Came before a 9:30 showing of Dune to enjoy some dinner and of course flan. I had heard that the flan here was to die for and it's my favorite dessert. I unfortunately wasn't able to really enjoy food bc I had just received my booster and wasn't feeling well, but wasn't going to let that stop me from having the flan. Everyone's food was great. The table had the salsa/guac chip app. It was great. Chips were thick and great for scooping. Salsas were also fantastic with some mild and some spicy. Everyone's tacos were great, both for our eyes and stomachs. The flan was a bit of a miss for me though. It came warmed up, which was the first time I had ever gotten a hot flan. Maybe it was bc I had never had a hot flan, but it didn't feel right. I feel like the gelatinous consistency works better at room temperature of a bit chill. It also had some cheese on it, that I didn't care for. That said, I thought the flan itself was great and the tequila was wonderful. I've had lots of flan, mostly regular, coconut, and some other varieties, but this tequila was probably my favorite. I think this flan would be an all-star for most people. Everyone had a great time and the service was solid. We sat in the outdoors enclosed area which worked out perfectly. It was nice to be away from the more busy inside. We were worried a bit about temperature, but it was actually quite comfortable. I should also mention that the restaurant was very thoughtful in the resolution of our dinner. Totally unexpected, but very kind. Will def be back to enjoy some tacos!

Yelp
My partner and I ate here twice in one weekend. The first night we ordered the El Pastor pork tacos and the guacamole and salsa. The food came out quickly and we enjoyed the flavor of the tacos. They were full of meat. My partner really enjoyed the salsa. We went back for brunch the next day and had the morning tacos, Brussels sprouts, yuca fried and tres leches cake for dessert. The waitress comped one of the morning tacos as she only out in one order (very sweet gesture). Everything was delicious and nice portions. The brussel sprouts had too much sauce though. But EVERYONE should try the tres leches cake... TO DIE FOR!!! The wait staff was amazing as well.

Yelp
great bottomless brunch! the french toast was delicious and def the best veg option for brunch- i would recommend getting only that for your food option with drinks if you're vegetarian
