Came here with my son for the miami spice lunch. The place is located inside the beautiful St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in Bal harbour. It has a gorgeous, beachy vibe with gorgeous decorative touches throughout. Mainly white with blue splashes here and there, with lots of pleasant details, real quartz on the table tops (beautiful), pretty pressed beach vibey serviettes, even the hostesses dress all matched. I asked her "is this a uniform what they give you?" and she said yes!
The service was impeccable, each dish came out promptly after each course, but without rushing us. Please note 18 per cent service charge is included but it was and is well deserved.. also if you eat here you can get your car validated for 15 instead of the standard price of 45 dollars.
The food was high spec Greek. I have been to Greece several times and I would class this as Posh Greek food. All the dishes were outstanding and definitely legit Greek!.
They bring fresh bread and tzatziki complimentary to the table. We ordered the pumpkin watermelon - delicious! and also their squid ink fava and crispy calamari. this was amazing - the squid was so tender and soft it literally melted in your mouth! YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS DISH!!
For mains we ordered the baked salmon. The salmon was wrapped in a grape leaf, which sat on top of orzo in a tomato sauce with olives, capers and fresh herbs. Also a good solid dish. We also had the lamb pot pie, which was extremely tasty.
Then the desserts - we ordered their pear cake - which was lovely and moist with a nice cinnamon kick to it. It also comes with a delicate coconut sorbet. The sorbet in my opinion could have been more coconutty, but it was still delish. We also had the baklava, which was the BEST I have ever tasted! (and I have had a few, givn I have been to Greece a few times) it was not dripping in honey sauce like so many places, making it over sweet, it was PERFECTION it came with a vanilla type ice cream, but it had a slight different taste to it, which my son and I could not pinpoint. So we reread the menu once we had left and it was called a Masticha ice cream. I googled it, and this is what it is.....Mastika is a liqueur seasoned with mastic, a resin with a slightly pine or cedar-like flavor.
Now I love photography and take lots of pictures, BUT the dessert was SO good, I forgot to take pics...(that speaks for itself)....
Star dishes for me were undoubtedly the squid and octopus starter and the baklava.
