I visited Baking with Ish on the day I was getting ready to fly out of LAX. I had been getting instagram recommendations on my feed for a few months (even though I don’t live in CA), and I’m glad I decided to put this place on my list to check out before I left. I got the ube sesame bun and the cheese and ube pie and both of them were fantastic. I wish I lived closer so I could come back and try more items, to be honest everything on display looked unreal. Wishing the best for Ish and team, you’re making some really amazing stuff.

Love that the pies and pastries are super fresh. Grabbed the blueberry corn muffin wrapped in banana leaf and it is the best muffin I’ve ever had. Not too sweet, super soft (big plus that it was warm when we got it), and there were random bits of banana chunks that made it such a wonderful surprise. I asked my husband to pick another one up the next day and I can’t stop thinking about it!

Bought their ube sticky bun (not pictured) near closing time and got an ube brioche for free! Both were so good, especially warmed up, we haven't been able to stop talking about them! Not too sweet imho, as the bread balances out the frosting really well. Looking forward to going back to their Blossom Market Hall location again soon.

Eat here! It's freakin' delicious. Everything we've tried is great. Today's highlight, the corn beef pandesal. The ube jam that came with the ube cheese pandesal and brioche was really nice; think it had some salt flakes on top. We've also ordered one of their whole pies, the mango sticky rice one. Seriously, eat here!

I have been a big fan of Baking With Ish since they opened in Blossom Market Hall. It’s always such a treat to grab something delicious, uniquely flavored, and beautifully decorated from the pastry case, all the while knowing you’re supporting a Filipino-owned small business! Well, I am an even BIGGER fan of Ish and his works of art after I recently placed a catering order for a party. I ordered an ube cheese pie, key lime pie, and a few dozen cookies (ube, sprinkles, pinipig chocolate chip, blue corn chocolate). Everything was so delicious — you could tell the ingredients were of high quality, presentation was awesome, and communicating with Ish back and forth to finalize and then pick up the order was easy. My guests were so impressed and some even said the cookies were some of the best they’d EVER had — and they’re a tough crowd to impress! I will definitely order from Ish again for future events, and in the meantime will continue to patronize his bakery at Blossom Market Hall. We’re so lucky to have such a great bakery in the neighborhood!

Seriously! He had Ube Sesame buns, Mango and Sticky Rice pie! Spam and cheese scone! Can you say sold out in 2 hrs!

Google
A deliciously sweet addition to grace the blossom hall food hall! Ish's signature pies, breads, expresso buns, cookies, cakes, are always in small batches, and has something new and in season everytime I stop by! You can taste the love and passion of these modern Filipino inspired desserts that anyone can enjoy. I will say the pies are a must! I've liked everything so far, and though the price may be a bit steep for some, know that you are supporting a small bakery with big taste! A friend introduced me to his decadent desserts, and I've been hooked since! I strongly suggest following the Ish Instagram page (bakingwithish) to see the latest updates and any new flavors he's concocted. They close relatively early, or until they sell out, so come early, grab a sweet bite, and be delighted!!

Delicious, incredible, perfection. Nothing is too sweet, everything is perfectly fresh. The pie crust is crisp and flaky and so lovely! Also, Ish is so nice!

Yelp
My sister was the MVP and got delicious pastries and adobo pie here! P.S. Sunday's are Ube Day at Baking with Ish! Everyday Bun-Ube Black Sesame with Meringue- one of my favorites out of the desserts! Very soft and moist. I couldn't really taste the black sesame, probably masked under the ube but it was so good. It's also not too ube so it's not overpowering, fairly light. Ube Donut- It was good. Great texture, soft. Ube Brioche Bun- Least favorite. A little dry, but still good. Ube Cheese Pie- My other favorite! This is rich so definitely share with others. It was really good, definitely resembles like a cheesecake, the richness and decadent. (not pictured, I forgot about this one until after we finished haha) Ube Custard Pie- Wonderful pie! It has two layers of ube-ness. Not too sweet, really good! Adobo Pie- It was good! The rice and meat, very lovely. The pie is fairly flaky.

Yelp
We came on a Sunday morning before opening. The place is welcoming and wheelchair-friendly. The food is absolutely artisan-level. We ordered the ube roll, ube cheese bun, egg and cheese pastry, and ube empanada. The ube bun was fresh with warm cream cheese on top, which I think was lemon flavored. Gooey and moist. We were the first to try the empanada. I am not a fan of ube at all, but Ish manages to make it special. The service was quick and fast and Ish and his husband are so kind. The ambience was quiet because we were the first to arrive, but it does get busy especially since there are other stores in the hall. I recommend getting there early to beat the amount of people. The prices are extremely fair considering the time and effort it takes to make the pastries and all the ingredients are high quality. It was $10 for an ube roll if i remember correctly and around that price for the other items. 10/10

Yelp
This is definitely a must-visit if you're a fan of cookies! I'm not usually into pastries, but one day my boyfriend was drawn in by the delicious and beautiful pastries behind the glass. He decided to try the Ube cookies, and let me tell you--they were AMAZING. The texture was perfect, not too sweet, and the flavors were absolutely delicious. Now, every time I stop by Blossom Market, I have to grab two. They're crinkle cookies, so I'd highly recommend them if you're looking to try something different. Honestly, they're way better than mainstream cookie spots like Crumbl or Insomnia. The owner, Ish, is also very kind! I stopped by once to get cookies, but they were all sold out. Without hesitation, he gave me some brownie crusts on the house! It's literally the best part of brownies, in my opinion, so I was super happy.

Yelp
Everything they make is perfect! Their baked goods not only look great, but taste better! Very creative treats! Service is a bit slow, but I didn't mind waiting because the owner seemed so focused on making his baked goods look perfect. The attention to detail is obvious. The store is inside the Blossom Market place, so it can be busy at times. I got the black sesame ube bun and the spam tocino scone. They were both to die for! I will definitely go back for more!

Yelp
This is a Filipino bakery with southeast Asian flavors. I tried a couple of pastries while browsing the food hall, and man, everything was delicious! We got an ube mochi cookie as well as an egg and cheese brioche bun. The cookie was light and crispy on the outside with a chewy interior- perfect! I thought the egg and cheese brioche was to die for! The brioche was fluffy and light with a slightly salty/garlicky flavor and layer of cheese and egg- YUM! I can't stop thinking about it. I saw a cake in the counter that was made with fish sauce- super unique. I would have loved to try it if I had room. It seems like pastry selection changes regularly, which is great. I'll definitely come here again when I'm back in the area!

Yelp
It was my first time in the area in a while and I am glad to try Blossom Food Hall. I tried out AK Fresh Roast and Baking with Ish. AK Fresh Roast was a 7/10 in terms of quality and taste. I liked the presentation of the drinks and overall cleanliness of the store front. I got an egg custard vietnamese coffee which the coffee was more like a light roast then a medium or heavy roast. I could not tell if there was a layer of egg custard since it tasted more like regular coffee foam. The drink itself was $6.50 and came out to $7.17 total with tax. The cup size looked like a grande size at Starbucks. Baking by Ish blew my mind with how good and new the pastries were. Maybe I'm biased as a Filipino American but I would rate Ish's baked good as 10/10. You really get a generous serving in each slice and the price is really fair. Like everything nowadays, $6 and up seems to be the norm in pricing. I got the ensaymada for $10 and the blueberry pie for $10. Total price with tax came out to $22.05. Yes $10 per baked good is more than the $6.50 drink from AK Fresh Roast but you get more food overall from Baking by Ish. The cost of labor and attention needed to present the baked goods nicely is loads better than a simple coffee drink that takes less than five minutes to make. Overall, if I had to choose between Baking by Ish and AK Fresh Roast, Baking by Ish outperforms in every aspect.

Yelp
Still in love with this little sweet spot. I can't even recall all of the items I've purchased over the months but every single items has been sooooo damn good. Most recently popped in for coffee at the next door kiosk and duh, picking up pastries from Ish is a must! Last two visits I've picked up: - Yuku donut - Ube Coconut Bun - Peach Puns I was taking the pastries home to share with the fam so I was provided heating instructions. Reheat rec: Air fryer 350° for 5ish minutes. Spot on instructions. All the pastries were sweet, gooey, and overflowing with flavor I've come to expect. You really can't go wrong with any item made at Baking With Ish. I'm sure I'll be popping in sometime next week for a new treat.

Yelp
I have not came to this location at all so I cannot base my review on the location itself. BUT however, I can review on their ONE DESSERT that has BLOWN MY FREAKN MIND! This dessert was brought to one our Company Potlucks for Thanksgiving and boy was I so thankful that it was there. It called... drumroll please.... UBE COCONUT PIE! It was the PERFECT consistency and ratio of UBE goodness to coconut madness. The pie crust was not too flakey but just right. And just the right amount of shaved coconut beautifully crafted in the pie. ISH, who are you? You are a filipino God send and should be oh so proud of this creation.

Yelp
Love that food halls are popping up and are becoming a thing! Located inside Blossom Market Hall. I really wanted to like this place as so many others that have reviewed it did. Egg Omelet Brioche - was soaking wet of grease/oil.. I sadly did not like it. Tomato was just wet and no flavor. It was topped with flaky salt which helped a little. Not sure if there was some sort of citrus squeezed over top, but entire pastry was not coherent. Coconut Corn Pie - you can really taste corn with an after taste of coconut. Pie crust was not my favorite, felt dense and slightly burnt but flaky. Ube Meringue Pie - very very sweet. I now see why meringue pies are usually with a citrus. I had to remove the meringue top as it was way too sweet paired with the ube. Ube pie without the meringue was much better. Chocolate Espresso Cake - was what it was, ordinary. Cake was moist. Pumpkin Chocolate Cookie - tasted more like oatmeal and cinnamon. Missing pumpkin seasoning. Texture was good, ooey gooey soft.

Yelp
Baking with Ish is located in the blossom market hall, alongside with other amazing small businesses ! This is a cute little Filipino inspired baked goods shop. We ordered the egg cheese brioche + the ube cookies -- SO FIYAH. This is the place to go if you have a sweet tooth like me xD the ube cookie litcherally melts into your mouth !!! sweet and soft yet a bit crunchy The egg cheese brioche was saur yummy too -- I lovvvv the oil the business owner garnishes on top. It tastes like a lemony rosemary garnish ¿ I love supporting smol businesses and Baking with Ish serves quality baked goods -- Filipino style :-) I need to come back soon to try more of their goodies

Yelp
Came late morning on a weekday to the blossom hill market. Large parking lot next door but also wasn't busy at all. A bunch of sweets were already available and more were being made on the spot! 7/10 Ube Custard Pie $10 - crust was pretty dense and not much to it. Ube custard was very light in flavor, good consistency and sweetness. The white fluff was very rich and creamy. Helps with the slightly dry crust. Overall pricey and would not get again but perhaps rather try other items.

Yelp
BEST SCONE EVER. I have dreams of this spam and cheddar scone. The problem I have with most scones is that it can be really dry, but not here! It's got a crisp exterior while the inside is wonderfully delicate and fluffy. The cubed spam offers the perfect amount of saltiness to the hint of sweetness of the scone. (Ish told me he puts a little honey in the batter, genius). Aside from the scone, I also adore the blue corn banana nut tea cake. The texture has a pleasant bounciness to it, the perfect chew. There are many other delectable treats available, but you def need to come before noon since a lot of them sell out. As for service, Ish and his helpers are so sweet and personable. They sure do a great job at upselling because I always just come for the scone, but I end up walking away with other goodies like their mango sticky rice pie (AMAZING BTW). I also loved that I was able to have a little chat with Ish about baking, he's so friendly and open to talking about his processes which I really appreciate as a fellow baker. The quality is always consistent and nothing is too sweet, which makes them so palatable. Dangerous, but absolutely worth a try.

Yelp
I found Ish's social media months ago but never had time to stop by. I finally got the chance and he did not disappoint! His baking is so good we came back the day to try more items. I love the experimental aspect in his goods. The fish sauce in the apple pie was on point and the shrimp in the chocolate chip brown sugar cookie was so unique. He's the sweetest business owner; extremely personable and accommodating. If I lived closer I would be in trouble, but the trip from DTLA saves me a lot of calories. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next! Thanks Ish

Yelp
Favorite bakery in the San Gabriel Valley. The staff is friendly, including the owner Ish. This place is located inside the blossom food hall. Plenty of seating and clean bathrooms. I love that the hall has other options as far as food and drinks also. Ube black sesame seed muffin - 10/10 if you want something sweet but not over-ally sweet. The brioche bread base is so fluffy and light mixed with the ube. On top is a fluffy meringue with black sesame seeds. I recommend getting this warmed up so it's nice and warm. Brioche egg and tomatoes - 10000/10 oh my gosh it's so good I'm drooling while typing this. It's brioche based with an egg cracked on top, cherry tomato medley, some kind of light oil and a garlic flavor. It is a MUST TRY! So light and simple but perfect. Definitely crave this and come for this item specifically.

Yelp
I've had the pleasure of visiting Baking With Ish on many occasions to try out such delicious pastries! Ube Cheese Pie - This was the first item I ever tried, and I always have fond memories of it. I remember thinking it'd be a weird combination, but taking a bite, it put a smile on my face because I actually liked the flavor combination - creamy without it being too sweet. Also, the crust for the pie has to be acknowledged. The crust was buttery and crumbly, and it made me think that the crust was made by a master baker (which of course Ish is!). It was SO GOOD! Ube Cookie - Great ube flavor, and the texture is crispy, soft, and chewy. I could eat a whole jar of it and not feel guilty at all. Sticky Buns - I've so far noticed a couple of flavors on rotation, and have been able to try both the black sesame and pandan flavors. The buns are soft and the sauce is sweet and sticky, and is made extra decadent with the pillowy meringue on top. Overall it can get on the sweet side, but who's to say cheat day doesn't exist? Baking With Ish is located inside Blossom Market Hall right next to AK Fresh Roast. You can also place an order online (www.bakingwithish.com) for seasonal whole pies and cookies. I highly recommend visiting for high quality and unique desserts and pastries.

Yelp
Every single time you come here you're going to be super impressed by the array of beautiful baked goods that Ish has each week. Each one is carefully thought out and I'm constantly intrigued by his flavor and ingredient combinations when I drop in. So many times, places will have nice looking stuff but then the flavor doesn't match that. That is not the case here. I honestly feel like the flavor meets or somehow surpasses the visual because I constantly want to share bites with friends and it sounds corny but it's almost like a taste and texture adventure each time. Ube, peach, caramel, tea infusions, bananas, breakfast pastries, it has all been delicious. Every.single.one. Ish is also super kind and always coming up with new ideas, so please be sure to say hello and do yourself a favor and try a couple of items. Thanks for reading!

Yelp
I discovered this bakery about a month ago on an Ube Special Sunday, and what a wonderful treat it was! I tried their ube roll with meringue topping and it was one of the best desserts I've ever had. I have since been back and have tried other goodies, like the ube cookies, ube cupcakes, and most recently the ube everyday bun. The baker is so friendly and explains each dessert so you'll know what to expect with each treat. You can tell how much detail and thought he puts into his baked goodies. Hands down this is one of the best local bakery gems for all things ube.

Yelp
This place is located inside the Blossom Market Hall. What a nice addition to this place and when you get your coffee next door at AK roast you can head over to baking with ISH to try his fabulous bake goods. We got the ube cheese pie and it was delicious just perfect pairing on the cheese and ube filling. I also got the pandan bun and that was packed with flavor but we ate it before I was able to take a picture. I will sure be back for more of the bake goods they have to offer. Really nice people and staff.

Yelp
After seeing and reading all the delicious sweets .... I had to come try it for myself! I'm a huge ube fan. Located inside of Blossom food hall, they are towards the Mission Dr entrance. On a Saturday mid-morning, they didn't look like they were open. The items weren't really out either .... They only had their ube cookie, part of their ube pie and two more other things. When inquiring about their selection, this was all they had since they were closed the day before and are baking that day. If I wanted their full menu, I would have to come back tomorrow. The unfriendliness and lack of eye contact was duly noted and I felt I was interrupting his setup instead of helping a customer. Maybe this guy was having a hangover from Thanksgiving holiday, who knows. But definitely not the friendly hospitality that's been shared on Yelp. Also, why even bother to open if you only have a few items for the day? Well having made the drive, I figured I'll try their cookie. The ube cookie was very good. It was moist, chewy, fluffy and sweet. I'm glad that turned around the bad experience. However I may not come back due to the unfriendliness of the worker/owner. I really dislike bad reviews so this will be a neutral review, good cookie neutralized the unfriendly attitude.

Yelp
I first found out about BAKING WITH ISH from instagram and seeing all the goodies he kept whipping out just made me more and more determined to drive out to land-locked San Gabriel. And it was totally worth it!! His Filipino-American iteration of the traditional pumpkin pie was absolutely sublime!! It's called UBE PUMPKIN PIE. We tried to order this pie for Thanksgiving but it sold out quickly! I am not surprised. The use filling is very good; the pumpkin part was delicious AND firm; the crust is perfect. The UBE CINNAMON ROLL was soft, fluffy and had an awesome frosting. UBE FRUITY PEBBLE COOKIE is amazing. It is chewey, large and full of flavor. The BROWNIE is rich and fudgy. Ish is so friendly and helpful. His creativity is exceeded only by his flawless technique and execution. So that the flavors are well balances with the tried and true baking techniques that allows for perfect baked goods consistency.

Yelp
We first heard about Baking with Ish on KCRW being interviewed at the Farmers Market getting fresh seasonal fruits to bake a peach mango pie. So we knew we had to try it when we came to Blossom market. Man, these baked treats are so worth the calories and a trek to the SGV! As someone who don't like fruit pies, I relished the peach mango pie. And as someone who especially loathe pie crusts, I savored these! Oddly, in the best way possible, the pie crust reminded me of a sweet version of crispy fried chicken skin both in texture and smell. Buttery, light, and flaky/crispy. The fruit filling highlighted the seasonality of the peaches and mangos, sweet but not cloyingly sweet and tart, with a hint of savoriness. We also got a generous slice of the fruit and merengue cake, which we also devoured. I would further elaborate on how good it was but I've ran out of descriptive adjectives and a picture is worth a thousand words. So the cake tastes as good as it looks!
google avatar

Christelle I.

Yelp
One of my favorite baker/bakeshops in SGV area. I used to buy pastries from 85 degrees and paris baguette until Ish started selling in Blossom. His pastries NEVER disappoint. Some of my go-to are: the donuts, brioche, banana muffins/cakes, and cookies. On special occasions, I love the pies and the cakes. Service is always good. Ish works in the morning on his own and gets help towards around noon till the afternoon. He's BUSY. He's very nice. Please don't be afraid to ask him for assistance or any help. On weekdays, you may be lucky to get the choice of your pastries after 12 pm. But on weekends, try to get there early around 9/10 am to get your choice of pastries; anytime after 12 pm, you may miss the best sellers and weekend specials.

Yelp
Every item they had on hand was fresh and delicious, the service was kind and quick. You can tell the level of care they put into their baking and it makes me want to come back to see what else they'll come up with!

Yelp
ISH IS A BAKING WIZARD. His baking is so unique, delicious and extremely satiating, I'm happy he is in sgv

Yelp
Thank you to this incredible establishment for exposing me to a wonderful way to enjoy Nutella. I had the pleasure of trying an incredible pastry made with Nutella and black sesame seeds that was light, fluffy and delectable! In addition to the sweet treat we enjoyed we also had a savory breakfast croissant with egg that hints of garlic that was perfection! Kudos to the Chef and his assistant for the wonderful service and beautiful selection of enjoyable delights.

Kim G.

Yelp
Some of the tastiest and most unique baked goods I have ever eaten. Ish is a pastry genius with the flavors he puts together. I had the Ube cheese pie which was off the charts. Ube filling with a layer of condensed milk and a flaky crust. The Ube roll was so good - Ube jam filling, black sesame, and a merengue frosting. I am so impressed with the creativity, quality, and overall superlative flavor profiles!
google avatar

Yelp
Newer spot at the Blossom Food Hall. It replaced the boba shop. I've been waiting for this place to open because on IG all the pastries look incredible. We tried the Ube Cheese Pie which was amazing and this other pastry that was a special that day - it was supposed to a mochi cake but it tasted nothing like mochi and the texture was not even close to it. I would pass on that one next time. Other than that, everything else we've tried has been spot on.

Yelp
For the second year in a row, I have bought multiple pies from Baking with Ish for Thanksgiving and his ube pumpkin pie always wins for best pie at our gathering. (And the competition is stiff - Proof Bakery, Fat and Flour, Village Bakery which also are amazing!).... Ish's pies are so special because he only uses the best ingredients like a heritage grain (Tehachapi Grain Project) for the flour - it makes a difference for sure in his perfect pie crusts. And the other reason his pies stand out is because he puts his own Filipino American spin on his baked goods- using the highest quality ingredients. Plus they are all beautiful and stylish! This year I tried his bibinkga sticky rice pie which had a thin layer of dulce de leche at the base. It's unique touches like this that make his baked goods a special treat. Recently I tried his savory baked goods like the chicken empanada and it was the best one I've ever had due to the perfectly flaky crust and savory filling with a hint of sweetnes. Can't wait to see what else pops up at this bakery! Finally, the location can't be beat. You can get an incredible pandan ice coffee next door to ish's bakery and enjoy it with his desserts. Blossom Hall is a gorgeous food hall with easy parking.

Yelp
Excuse my language but HOLY Sh** ! Why hasn't anyone told me about this place before ! I'm usually not big on pastries. But since I was there I couldn't resist staring at the beautiful carbs and sugar. Here's what we got - Chicken Empanada: delicious and flaky - Earl Grey Bun: this bun was heavenly! I wanted to go back for another, but it took all my willpower to walk away. It was the perfect amount of sweet. Ish has hands of gold. I can't wait to bring my girlfriend, who usually avoids carbs. I know this bakery is going to be her new exception!

Yelp
Cute space at the back of Blossom Market Hall, I came here because I am a fan of the grain that they use and was curious about the blue corn cookie. However I've made it out twice but atlas only on Sunday when Ube is their main offering. The first time I got the ube cookie and it was spectacular, perfectly delicious cookie with great textures, crave-able even. Made me more excited to come back to try the reg cookies. The second time I came, they had balloons up celebrating their one year anni, which was festive and cute. But the cookie was so different in flavor and texture, it was weirdly soft - everything, nothing like the first time. Perhaps it was a bad batch? Service felt indifferent each time.

Yelp
So happy to have finally visited. Ish is amazing and so are all of his pastries!! Banana Bread Blueberry Scone Ube Bun Citrus Tea Cake Ube Cookies All were delicious with yummy flavor! Definitely a go to spot for fresh homemade pastries!

Yelp
They have a good variety of pastries where it's not too sweet. The best thing is that the menu changes often, which means there's more to try every visit. Definitely will come back again!

Yelp
Heard so many good reviews about this place, I had to check it or should I say taste it. The verdict is OMG so Delicious. I'm not kidding. Everything we ordered was flavorful. My taste buds had awoken. The service was great as well. The owner was super sweet and I thanked him for bringing the filipino desserts come to life. The area were this gem was located is in a food hall with other good eats. I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
I tried their Ube Mochi cookie and it was really good! Very chewy and I tasted the ube flavor. A little on the pricey side, this cookie was $4 but it was definitely worth the try. They had other pastries too, like an Ube cheese pie cake which seemed interesting. Definitely need to give their other pastries a try the next time I visit the Blossom Food Hall.

Yelp
A beautiful display and even better taste. I had the ube cheese pie with a coffee and it was pure heaven. Prices aren't cheap, but worth it to support a small business and such artistry. Can't wait to go back and try something different next time.

Yelp
Been coming here for a while. Everything looks amazing and so far all the pastries I've tried are amazing. Was never into ube until coming here. It's addicting and Ish and the other people working are very nice. There's always been a line when I've gone which is nice as it gives me time to decide what to get.

Yelp
I came to Baking With Ish one week postpartum when I was craving sweets, and have no regrets! I love desserts that have a spin on Asian flavors, so I was delighted to see pastries with ingredients like ube, tea and black sesame. My favorite dessert so far has to be the Ube cake! Can't wait to try more! :)

Yelp
Don't go when it's opening time, he's not ready and will ignore you bc he's hyper focused on getting things finished. Don't go when it's 3 hours to closing bc he will only have a few cookies or items left. Try your luck in the middle of the day. Maybe he won't ignore you and the products will be ready.

Yelp
I bought the Ube morning bun, yuzu doughnut, and banana muffin which were all fantastic. I LOVE how everything had just the right amount of sweetness and the textures were great too! I was too early to get any slices of pie but I'll look forward to visiting again to get some!

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND the pies! I've tried the ube/earl gray and espresso chocolate chip cookies as well as the ube and mango sticky rice pie. I came just before he closed today and I'm so glad I got to try the mango sticky rice pie. Ish has great customer service and you can tell he uses quality ingredients in his baked goods. While the pie slices are on the pricier side, I now see how it's justified because of the quality ingredients and because he wakes up in the wee hours of the morning to bake these fresh himself! Give this small business a try! Especially if you love ube and Asian-flavored dessert pies!

Yelp
I have been a big fan of Baking With Ish since they opened in Blossom Market Hall. It's always such a treat to grab something delicious, uniquely flavored, and beautifully decorated from the pastry case, all the while knowing you're supporting a Filipino-owned small business! Well, I am an even BIGGER fan of Ish and his works of art after I recently placed a catering order for a party. I ordered an ube cheese pie, key lime pie, and a few dozen cookies (ube, sprinkles, pinipig chocolate chip, blue corn chocolate). Everything was so delicious -- you could tell the ingredients were of high quality, presentation was awesome, and communicating with Ish back and forth to finalize and then pick up the order was easy. My guests were so impressed and some even said the cookies were some of the best they'd EVER had -- and they're a tough crowd to please! I will definitely order from Ish again for future events, and in the meantime will continue to patronize his bakery at Blossom Market Hall. We're so lucky to have such a great bakery in our neighborhood!

Yelp
Probably one of the best Filipino bakers in SoCal. Their menu has different items every week and with most flavors coming from the Philippines. I can't visit without coming out with at least 3 cookies and come kind of pie/cake. I ordered their Uber Coconut pie for Thanksgiving and best know I will never have anyone else's pie for the holidays now. Like Marie Callender's who? My mom and aunt both enjoyed the pie as well and described it as "not too sweet" which is the highest compliment I can get whenever I bring in desserts. Ish has great service and takes time describing their work. I'd follow them on IG just to confirm store hours and see what treats they have for the day.

Yelp
Baking with Ish makes the most delicious desserts! I've preordered a whole peach mango pie and have gotten his ube cheese pie and ube pumpkin pie. You can really taste the freshness and the great quality ingredients he uses in his desserts. Besides great tasting treats, Ishnoelle is such a nice and sweet individual. He's located inside the Blossom Market in Alhambra and right at the front entrance. I don't understand the reviews made on how much his desserts cost. His prices are clearly displayed, and no one forced you to purchase it. Yes, prices are on the higher end, but you get what you pay for. If you felt like you paid a lot for the desserts and it tasted like crap, then ok and leave your review, but don't give a low rating due to price and then say it tasted great.

Yelp
~~~UBE SPINS ON CLASSIC BAKED TREATS~~~ WATCH THE EPISODE: FIELD DAY² BLOSSOM MARKET HALL (YT:@BULGOGIBOMBER) When you just want all the pie fillings in one go, then get the Everything Pumpkin Pie! Layers of pumpkin, apple, ube, and nuts inside, topped with a beautiful dollop of whip cream that shimmers. This eye-candy just adds to the flavor experience! And try out the Ube Mochi Cookie. It's "Ube"-r soft and yummy!
