"A standalone snacks-and-drinks offshoot right next door to the high-end Corridor 109, Bar 109 reads as the natural extension of this bar-focused approach." - Eater Staff
"Opened in July at the front of the restaurant, this companion bar introduced Baik to the neighborhood with a casual menu of bar snacks—think a fried fish sandwich and a wagyu hot dog—executed with the precision of his fine-dining background. It also serves as the portal to the tasting counter; diners enter through the bar before moving into the main experience." - Rebecca Roland
"Settling into this dreamy minimalist room feels like the place to be in 2025; even with my diminished alcohol tolerance, I’m loving what Chef Brian Baik has built in Melrose Hill. Massive windows face Western Avenue just south of Melrose, and ahead of his full restaurant Corridor 109 later this year, Baik and Night On Earth’s Kayla Garcia (former lead bartender at Chicago’s award-winning Kumiko) are serving thoughtful drinks and snacks. Order updated classics like a Boulevardier with Legent bourbon, Campari, oolong tea, and a touch of orange while lo-fi beats fill the room, and whatever you do, get the wagyu hot dog — juicy and dressed with Dijon and pepper relish — plus the fried fish sandwiches. Both are among the best versions in Los Angeles and make perfect bar food." - Eater Staff
"This moody cocktail bar in East Hollywood is the more casual offshoot of Corridor 109, the forthcoming Korean-leaning tasting menu restaurant that we thoroughly enjoyed when it was a Chinatown pop-up. At Bar 109, look for inventive cocktails such as a strawberry clarified milk punch and an oolong boulevadier, and a small snack menu with smoked fish dip, shrimp cocktail, a fish sandwich, and a fancy hot dog." - cathy park
"The area around Melrose and Western is stocked with great restaurants—Bar Etoile, Etra, and Kuya Lord to name a few—but less so places to drop in for a nightcap. Bar 109 changes all that. This dark and sultry spot is ideal for night owls who aren't ready to call it an evening quite yet, with fantastic cocktails that sneak in sophisticated twists, like the curl of white kelp salting the gin martini, or grassy oolong tea smoothing out the boulevardier. High-end tasting menu counter Corridor 109 is opening behind the bar soon, but the short seafood-y menu available up front is worth putting your second stomach to use—even if you already ate, you're going to want that incredible fried rockfish sandwich finished with thick tartar sauce cosplaying as egg salad. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Brant Cox
