"The area around Melrose and Western is stocked with great restaurants—Bar Etoile, Etra, and Kuya Lord to name a few—but less so places to drop in for a nightcap. Bar 109 changes all that. This dark and sultry spot is ideal for night owls who aren't ready to call it an evening quite yet, with fantastic cocktails that sneak in sophisticated twists, like the curl of white kelp salting the gin martini, or grassy oolong tea smoothing out the boulevardier. High-end tasting menu counter Corridor 109 is opening behind the bar soon, but the short seafood-y menu available up front is worth putting your second stomach to use—even if you already ate, you're going to want that incredible fried rockfish sandwich finished with thick tartar sauce cosplaying as egg salad. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Brant Cox
