Housed in a restored 1920s firehouse, this Southtown icon reimagines Italian-American classics with handmade pastas, a sharp wine list, and design drama. The San Antonio Express-News lauded its menu and sense of place.

Before coming to San Antonio, I checked out several places to eat near the hotel where I was staying. And I'm glad I chose this one. My friend and I decided to eat outside, which was nice, but despite it being a busy evening, our food didn't take too long to arrive at our table. The food was great, and our server was sweet and funny. I'm no fan of spiders, but I did like that the restaurant decided to decorate the outside with them, lol. Go check this place out!

Good was good but not excellent. The atmosphere throws me off though. They could have done something so cool and unique with an old fire house. However, the only connections to the fire house are the name and a picture on the menu. The restaurant is filled with super modern fixtures and glass sculptures. Very strange.

I drove 2 hours from Austin to San Antonio to see Shakira and she canceled the concert. I was really upset and found this restaurant, and I am so glad I did! My experience was amazing; dining here truly made my night so much better. All the food was fresh and delicious. The highlight of the night was the Burrata appetizer! I look forward to coming back just for it. I also had the chicken parmesan which was very good and a very large portion. My friend had the prosciutto pasta and said it was great. Also, I would like to mention that Charlie was a wonderful server. The restaurant was busy and he was on top of all the little details.

Every dish we tried was amazing. Wacey our waiter had great knowledge of every dish and made some great suggestions for us. The beef tartare was my favorite appetizer. I recommend trying the Rainbow trout and Ricotta Cavateli. Friendly staff. Thank you for a nice experience.

It is an open space, low lit, vintage atmosphere with a air of romance. The service is impecable and the table setting elegant. The food is fancy and well made. My order, the raviolis stuffing was tasty but would not brag about it. The green beans were the tastiest of the dishes.

Battalion has been another restaurant I’ve heard a lot about but don’t know why I never bothered to try but glad I did! Soooo good but I’d def recommend a reservation. My wife and I tried a little bit of everything and there wasnt a single bad dish. We loved everything but our favs were def the meatballs and cacio e Pepe though. It’s become one of our fav Italian spots so we’ll def be back.

Wow, the food at Battalion was AMAZING. Sorry we don’t have pics, but we took a group of 10 for a college graduation dinner. Appetizers included dumplings, lasagna side (it was spicy), and meatballs. Just wow on those and honestly, you could have just eaten appetizers they were that good. Drink menu was fantastic. Main courses were chicken parm, eggplant parm, lamb chops, pork tenderloin, sides (green beans were a bit salty and beets were amazing) and everything was a 10 out of a 10. Our server was obviously a pro at big tables as well. It was just a bit loud because it was an old fire house, but the tables were spaced nicely apart. This place is a 10 out of 10 for sure.

Went there to celebrate Vday and was very pleased with the food. It’s an old fire station and you can see the slide down poles. I would go back. Very good. Service was great as well. Not very romantic but very cool.
