New Restaurant Openings NYC: April 2025 | Eater NY

"A Park Slope pasta destination from a local group that also owns Terre, offering inventive pasta dishes with playful, esoteric names such as 'To Go to Bed With the Chickens' (chicken, goose, and rabbit ragu), 'The Night Is Still Young' (linguine with black garlic purée), and 'You Can’t Keep a Chickpea in Your Mouth' (chickpea gnocchi with blue cheese)." - Emma Orlow

Be Pasta - Review - Park Slope - New York - The Infatuation

"Be Pasta comes from the people behind Spes, Have & Meyer, and Terre. Check out a pasta-forward menu with things like fried tortellini, alongside a bunch of Italian natural wine. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

Wow! From the moment you step into Be Pasta, you are wrapped in an intimate atmosphere that perfectly captures the essence of Italian culture. Our server, Frederico, was the highlight of the evening; he treated us like guests in his own home rather than just customers. While the portions are intentionally modest, every bite is delicious. When enjoyed over several courses, you leave feeling perfectly satisfied. We were so caught up in the experience that we spent over two hours lingering over wine, yet we never felt pressured to vacate our table. Whether it’s a date night or a special anniversary, I cannot recommend Be Pasta enough

From the menu, to the service, to the food, what a unique and thoughtful place. The outdoor seating is so lovely and heated (!) but very cramped. The service was excellent, the waiter took the time to explain the idea of the restaurant, the menu, and each dish. The food was outstanding, the pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces were complex and delicious, and the wine selection is great.

The cutest restaurant😍 it’s on the pricier side but it def seems like quality ingredients. I think they said things are from Italy and other places. Serving size is smaller than most restaurants. Every bite was so good! Service is good and I love that they include pasta in all the dishes. No rain on that - cannoli like app (3). Loves how you could taste everything and it was so good! Also so unique! To go to bed with the chickens- so good… I was so surprised at how good it was! I’ve never taste anything like this… so delicious To buy in a closed box- also really good (clams) another dish where you could taste everything and also so good and unique. I def want to try everything on the menu. Can’t wait to go back

Dining at Be Pasta was nothing short of magical. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed like old friends by the incredibly warm and charming host, Francesco. The atmosphere transported us straight to a Michelin-starred trattoria in the heart of Italy — except we were right here in Brooklyn! The food? Absolutely divine. Every dish tasted fresh, vibrant, and thoughtfully prepared, striking that rare balance between indulgent and healthy. The pasta was clearly made with love and top-notch ingredients, and the wine pairing? Perfection. Every sip elevated the meal to the next level. We were a group of four friends and enjoyed a full dinner experience — apps, mains, wine — all for around $300 total, which felt like an absolute steal for the quality and care that went into every detail. Wishing huge success to this local gem. Be Pasta is an experience I can’t wait to repeat — and one I’ll be raving about to anyone who’ll listen.

This place is absolutely amazing! The entire team is from Italy, and the pasta was likely the best I’ve ever had outside of Italy. Our waiter, Francesco was super attentive, and personable. I’d highly recommend this place.

Beautiful little place! Perfect for a date. Lovely cocktails, wide selection of Italian wines. Great staff and service. Salad was very fresh just a bit under salted. But the vegetarian linguine was delicious and the desert (Essere alla frutta) superb.

Google
Phenomenal spot. So inventive and interesting! Every dish was delicious, but the brussels sprout carpaccio and the 3-meat ragu were DREAMY. The salad was so beautiful and the perfect start to the meal. The gnocchi was feather-light and so tasty with a beautiful deep orange blue cheese shaved on top. If you are worried about having pasta in every course, don't give it a second thought. Even though pasta is the star here, the food doesn't feel heavy or starchy. There is so much vegetable goodness that you leave feeling like you've had a healthy AND delicious meal. My only suggestion would be to offer a teeny bit of bread to sop up the delicious sauces. The hospitality here is second to none. You can just feel the love that the owners have for their work, their customers, their employees, their food - all of it. We can't wait to come back!

Absolutely phenomenal! This place is going to be the new gem in Park Slope, Brooklyn. They’ve connected the traditional concept of Italian cuisine with innovation and a no-waste food philosophy. I had the salad with fresh seasonal vegetables served with spirulina and fava beans, a seasonal soup made with revitalized vegetable broth; crispy 'pennone' with buffalo mozzarella; pasta with a slow-cooked ragù of goose, chicken, and rabbit; and for dessert—straight from an Italian '80s vibe—spaghetti ice! The ambiance is warm and welcoming, with a cozy, authentic Italian feel. The service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. Whether you're a local or just visiting, do yourself a favor and eat here. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
I almost feel guilty leaving a not-so-good review because Be Pasta tries hard to create a unique experience.... But it just doesn't work for me. SO much verbiage accompanies every single dish that it's a bit exhausting. For example, there's no wine list available; you *have* to order wine via an extended conversation about your emotional mood. Every single piece of food requires three paragraphs of explanation about the unique sourcing of ingredients, the preparation and what's important to them (the cook, sommelier and host). The "Neighbor's Grass" salad ($26) was accompanied by a 5-minute explanation of every ingredient ("20 vegetables and herbs"!) and preparation ("each vegetable cut by hand, not machines"!), but honestly, it just didn't taste all that good. In the end, the food was not worth all the verbiage and high prices.

Yelp
Be Pasta focuses on presenting various forms of pasta in all their dishes, and describes itself from a union between the chef (Chef Andrea), a sommelier (Alessandro), and the host (Daniele). We made sure to make advance dinner reservations, and we started off with: +You Are a Piece of Bread - a bread basket from Runner & Stone bakery, served with EVOO +Save Both the Goats and the Cabbages - prepared with brussel sprouts carpaccio, anchovies Canale di Sicilia, capers 'intingolo', and steamed Fregola pasta For our mains, we tried: +Like the Cat and the Fox - aka, 'come il gatto e la volpe'; prepared with egg tagliatelle felicetti matt, whipped code sauce, beluga caviar, squid ink, and chives oil +To Take Fireflies for Lanterns - aka, 'prendere lucciole per lanterne'; prepared with homemade pheasant angolotti and arroso sauce +and, the To Go to Bed with the Chickens - aka, 'andare a letto con le galline'; prepared with filippo drago tumminia durum wheat ancient variety, busiata, in a ragu of goose, chicken, and rabbiet If you're into checking out their natural wines, Alessandro will provide recommendations and great pairings. Staff friendly and welcoming; the interior of the restaurant is bright, and I loved the pretty tiles. Be Pasta also provides a 'Zero Waste' menu, in which nothing goes to waste in their kitchen for a better environmental impact, and is also part of a network to support the 'recovery of each ingredient' in the kitchen! +pasta-focused items +friendly service

Yelp
It's worth checking out but the whole experience was a bit off from the spinning wine wheel drink menu and the over the top food descriptions on the main menu. Plus, it's insanely overpriced.

Yelp
It's all pasta. But why the fuck is it the best thing I've had in months? If you dont try be pasta you can suck and egg. This place kicks ass

Molly S.

Yelp
This was easily one of the best meals I've ever had. The food was outstanding. So innovative, creative, delicious, authentic, and fresh. The salad contained over 20 vegetables from local farmers and was like eating a delicious multivitamin! The service was like nothing I've experienced before in the best way. You can tell every employee loves sharing the food they make. They make you feel like you're the only customer there even if it's a full house. They hand select wines to go with your plate, help you pick a dish based on the vibe you're going for, and genuinely wants to make the meal a journey and intimate experience for each customer. You can't go wrong. The restaurant itself is beautiful too! Best meal ever.

Yelp
Love love love Be Pasta! I almost didn't want to review because I don't want it to become too hard to get a table. Great addition to park slope!
