Park Chalet Garden Restaurant - Review - Richmond - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"When it’s nice out, Park Chalet is an ideal day drinking spot. This place feels like a backyard party, with lots of lawn chairs to sit in and plenty of beers to try, all of which are brewed in-house. The beer garden also backs up to Golden Gate Park, which you and your friends can take a walk through after a few drinks, or use for an overly enthusiastic game of adult hide and seek." - Will Kamensky

What’s Open on Christmas Eve in San Francisco and the Bay Area | Eater SF

"The restaurant will open at 11:00 a.m. for lunch, with the last seating at 8:00 p.m. A la carte menus will be served all day, in addition to an $85 per person four-course menu with festive items like grilled beef and bone marrow bearnaise and smoked beat puree. A good option for out-of-towners; lunch will provide the best views though, as the sun sets early." - Ellen Fort

The number one reason I picked this place is the somewhat easy parking compared to anywhere else in SF (I went with a group of 5 with one elderly) The experience turned out pleasant. - Seated near the window with later sunset view and also near a live music band (check their schedule online) - Foods and drinks suit my family taste: not overly seasoned, good portion. - Service is fairly fast considering this restaurant is hustling bustling. Waiter is very kind. - Recommend booking near sunset time so you can just walk right down stairs for the scene. Will definitely come back.

Beach Chalet Brewery & Restaurant offers the perfect combination of great food and stunning ocean views. We enjoyed a half dozen oysters to start, and they were fresh and delicious—the perfect way to kick off our meal. The grilled Branzino was a standout, cooked to perfection with a buttery, delicate flavor that melted in each bite. We also shared a side of savory mushrooms, a shrimp and crab cake that was absolutely killer, and some local beers that were the ideal refreshment alongside the meal. The crab bisque was rich and flavorful, and the crab carbonara turned out to be a hidden gem—creamy, packed with crab, and incredibly satisfying. With breathtaking views of the ocean and a fantastic lineup of dishes, Beach Chalet is a must-visit when in San Francisco. Can’t wait to go back!

I brought a friend here for her birthday. I thought it would be a lot better. Service was OK not great, took a long time to get our drinks. I had a 11am reservation and had to wait for them to clean and set a table, not very professional if you ask. Now the food was pretty good, though my friends sausage was cold, but didn't want to complain about it. I may go back and try something else.

Google
God I would love to give 5 stars, everything was incredible! The food was obviously a little overpriced but still very delicious. Amazing sourdough bread, I had the crab melt which was beautiful and the view and seating was also top tier! BUT for a Brewery … the beers don’t taste good at all, we tried 3 different ones. Part was probably that the carbonation was too little. Overall great experience, next time wine 🤣🙌🏽

My wife and I hosted our wedding dinner reception at Beach Chalet, reserving one of their private rooms called The Cove for 35 guests. This restaurant holds special meaning for us—it’s where we had our first dinner date—so it was the perfect spot to celebrate. The event coordinator, Kirsten, was incredibly attentive and helped us plan every detail, from the table setup to a custom-curated menu. The food was outstanding, and the oceanfront views—especially at sunset—were simply unbeatable. The staff went above and beyond to make our evening special. They allowed us to bring our own speaker for music and dancing, and the service throughout the night was thoughtful and seamless. Carlos, the manager, was especially friendly and accommodating. He made sure everything is well organized and runs smoothly. He even took complimentary photos of us and our guests with his DSLR and shared them afterward. We had a wonderful time and wholeheartedly recommend this place for private events.

Google
I had a wonderful experience here, where I met up with a friend and her partner. There was plenty of parking, and even without a reservation, we were seated right away. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the menu had a great selection of food. We split an appetizer and ordered a few entrées—the short ribs with mashed potatoes were excellent, especially on a cooler night. The highlight, though, was the breathtaking view. As the sun set, we had the perfect view of the ocean, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. All in all, it was the perfect setting for great friends, good conversation, and delicious food. I’d definitely return!

Google
Visited this location for the Fourth of July! 🇺🇸 The offered a decadent menu of home style American barbecue staples of glazed fall of the bone barbecue ribs, brisket, sausages, and chicken. The macaroni and cheese sides and holiday inspired cocktails were the cherry on top. I definitely recommend this spot, it is dog friendly and offers great music and a chill vibe.

Google
A nice dog friendly spot to get lunch in Golden Gate Park. The location at the edge of the park and across the street from Ocean Beach is hard to beat. The food is a bit pricey and my “tuna melt” was not what I expected. Open face is odd. They did bring a small water dish for our dog which he appreciated

Yelp
Beautiful building, great atmosphere and good service. Just make sure you get a window seat. The other tables that are not a booth are uncomfortable and too small but it is good if you're on a date you will be nice and close!

Yelp
Restaurant upstairs was closed to public. We ate outside in the back, near the bar. Heaters should be available during the winter season. The food was good but not exceptional. Small portions. Over priced.

Yelp
This place warms my heart with their delicious comfort food, soothing live music, beautiful wreaths and Christmas lights strung throughout the restaurant. When you come here, you'll receive warm friendly service with a gorgeous view of the sun setting at ocean beach. Definitely top off your meal with a perfectly smooth creamy cappuccino and tres leches.

Yelp
This is our annual go to place for that time between Christmas and New Year. We always have a good time and the food is always good. This year however, they hit it out of the park. To compare, just a week prior we went to fancy FARM in Napa, and the Beach Chalet was 10 out of 10 in comparison. The drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic, were strong and flavorful. Whether it was their Bloody Mary with pickled greens, or their alcoholic perfectly spiced eggnog, or the non-alcoholic lavender lemonade. Double eggs were wonderful, oysters had the correct flavorings to go with them and fresh, brussels sprouts were perfectly roasted and not over buttered, and roasted lamb chop appetizer with pomegranate glaze was absolutely to die for. The muscles came immersed in the most delicious, mildly smoky and creamy liquid that we continued to dip our bread into long after the muscles were gone. Truffle fries were crisp and delicious with just the right amount of truffle and grated cheese. Main dishes were perfectly prepared, whether it be the cioppino, the Ahi tuna burger (perfectly grilled Ahi steak that remained moist and a lovely natural color inside), flat iron, medium-rare steak with fries, seafood, pasta with neatly cubed pork, roasted chicken (simple, but well prepared and beautifully plated). To top it all off, the desserts were fabulous, especially Tres Leches, which came extraordinarily moist with a lovely unsweetened, whipped cream, kissed with a touch of spices. The service itself could've been a bit snappier, the restaurant was bustling with many tables filled with families, joyful celebration of being together. The Christmas tree was lit in. The music was soft and pleasant. Our waiter was attentive and well deserving of his tip .

Yelp
3 stars for the food alone, but rounded up to 4 stars for the view of the ocean and nice atmosphere. Our large party was placed in the light filled corner. The view from the second floor was really nice. The food is alright. The Brussels sprouts, calamari, fish and chips were okay. The clam chowder was acceptable. The food quality and freshness could be improved. If I could take some of the fresh seafood & recipes from Hog Island Oyster Co and put them at this location then I'd be here all the time.

Yelp
This place was better than I expected! I thought it may be a little touristy but it was so beautiful and we had a great time. The atmosphere and location was nice! Our server was kind and prompt. We got a beer flight to taste all of their beers, which was fun, and it was super reasonably priced. The truffle Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. I'm always hesitant for Mac n cheese because it's often disappointing, but this one was very good. The calamari was tasty too! Our main dish was fish and chips, which was average in my opinion, but everything overall was quite enjoyable.

Yelp
I took my wife here and had a great experience! Great first impression made a reservation online super easy and staff was constantly checking on us thank you.
google avatar

Yelp
Park Chalet in the back has a patio where you can bring your dog. Nice to have a place to eat when your dog with with you rather than leaving them in the car. Calamari was meh. A little dry and chewy. Good if you're really hungry but not the best I've had. Service is slow.

Yelp
Beach Chalet is a wonderful place to enjoy a delicious meal and the sunset. Enjoyed dinner with friends last night , they have a great selection of crab entries with crab being in season along with a super selection of Pilsner and IPAs. Attentive service was provided by Joel who manage our party of five very well. Make sure to stop in soon !

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Saturday and had no wait! All the food came pretty fast, loved the fries and omelet, hubby loved his hash. Beignets were a little on the sweet side, but surprised with how many it came with! Overall pretty decent brunch! Honestly just love not having to wait

Yelp
We brought some visitors here for lunch because the location is unbeatable and the murals in the lobby are so interesting. Note - the food was not the main attraction, although our lunch choices were good. We sat by the window in the room at the far end that had a party of some of the noisest people I can imagine. Not sure how they managed to eat with all the shrieking and talking, but we were able to ignore them for the most part. We had an interesting waiter - a bit ascerbic in his comments but we enjoyed him and he did a good job. I had the smoked salmon plate which was very good although the whipped goat cheese seemed like plain cream cheese. The mussels in the cream sauce was a major hit, and fish and chips were tasty. Overall, it was a fun place to stop on a beautiful day. I'd give a 3.5 if I could, but given how much visitors enjoy the experience, I upped the number!

Yelp
It's definitely a tourist trap, but a good spot to bring friends and family from out of the area for drinks and the view of ocean beach. Especially after a long journey through Golden Gate park! It is especially colder on this side of SF, so check the weather before you come, because there can be a difference of 10 degrees. Ha. We came for some drinks after a stroll through Golden Gate. Service sucked. Our waitress had a terrible attitude and never offered to refill Our waters or even or cocktails when she saw they were empty. She asked us 5+ times if we wanted to Order dinner and we had to tell her 5+ times that no, we're STILL here for just drinks and apps

Yelp
I love that Beach Chalet has been a staple in the Outer Sunset for years. The space is gorgeous, especially the green house space on the ground floor, towards Golden Gate Park. The second floor window views to the ocean is worth going here for dessert or coffee. The menu at Beach Chalet doesn't have any frills but the food that they do cook--they do it well. You'll always leave satisfied with your meal, whether it's brunch, lunch, or dinner. Service is perfect. The bartenders and servers are professional. Recommend coming and trying their food once! It's a great brunch location if you're coming from a morning hike at Lands End or dinner after a day on the beach or park.

Yelp
Beach chalet is one of our go-tos for a nice meal with a view! There's a parking lot and street parking. Good cocktails and meals with good portions. Depending on the time of day it can definitely be busy but try to get seated by the windows for a nice sunset view during dinner. We got the calamari, lobster roll, and carbonara and we could barely walk out of the restaurant since we were so full. The vibe at Beach chalet is simple-- date nights, family dinners, group outings with live music. Will definitely be back sometime soon!

Yelp
This place is soooo fun! My friend wanted to check out the brewery (yes they make their own beer inside of here!) We came for a beer and a quick bite. I ended up having a glass of their Mirabelle sparkling rose but found out if you get a beer, they give you a glass to go! So I got a beer too hah! The burrata was delicious. We knew the place would be pricey, I mean, it's SF and look at the view and location, but it's an experience more than anything, and we enjoyed it! P.S. I need to go back for another beer and take home glass

Elyse O.

Yelp
Food was fantastic. Had the lobster roll and salmon dish. Both were delicious and would return for them. Our server Joel was very attentive and had fantastic recommendations. Will 100% be back!!!

Yelp
Bland expensive food, drinks were meh. Atmosphere was pleasant with a nice beach view.

Rochelle W.

Yelp
Try to get a seat by the window. On a sunny day the view is awesome. My friend and I both had crab sandwiches. They were pretty good. We've been once before and really liked our lunches. Just can't remember what we had. The service is ok. A great place to go for lunch before the beach.

Yelp
When my friend suggested lunch here yesterday Good Friday I was somewhat hesitant. Why? Their inconsistency in food & service. It had been so long since I'd been here that there's a check in counter on the ground level now. She was a little brusque. Reservations? Uh no. Downstairs or upstairs? We said Beach Chalet. She called upstairs and said party of 5 "walk ins". Once we went upstairs we were warmly greeted. We were led into the smaller dining room. Now the five of us are all locals but we all wondered the same thing. Was this room always like this? No matter. Same great views. Another thing we pondered over were the metal chairs. If you know San Francisco you know there are microclimates. By the Pacific Ocean it's cold and windy. The chairs made us shiver like we were outdoors. Food wise. Hubby and I both ordered cheeseburgers with fries. Our food was delivered hot to the table. Cooked to order. Being a microbrewery we also ordered draft beers. Hubby got the twin IPA. I got the stout. Friend got the Pilsner. All hit the spot. Friends ordered: * fish and chips * steamed mussels * Dungeness crab melt We had a great server with a good sense of humor. 4.0 stars food, beer & service 3.0 stars ambiance due to cold metal chairs and the brusque first point of contact encounter.

Yelp
Talk about unwelcoming. From the moment we walked in, it was obvious with how they treated us as opposed to those who they know or even perceive as tourists. We weren't given the standard waiters with the white shirts. In fact, they ignored us. We had alternate staff who couldn't be bothered with our business. When we asked the staff for an extra plate, he pointed to the small bread plate on our table. They do NOT provide bread or butter, by the way. I had to practically beg them to give us a regular sized plate to share the pasta. The Dungeness crab pasta ($31) was so bland that it wasn't worth it. It's like a watery tomato on top of overcooked noodles with some crab on top. The crab and lobster sandwich ($32) was fresh, but the bun was soggy from the mayo, and the slaw was awful. The crab melt ($28) was okay flavor wise, but the salad was very bitter and underwhelming, and the crab melt was literally ONE slice of bread with some crab on top. It was such a small portion via a real sandwich with two slices of bread and more crab. Rip off. There was a bug in my water, and after trying to flag down 2 waiters, I finally got someone to switch out my water. The waiters just didn't want to serve us or the other table that were locals. I think they wanted tourists or regular customers in their click. Everything seemed to be an effort here. I highly doubt that this place would survive had it not been for the view of the ocean. Our whole table hated the service, or lack thereof, and their underwhelming marked up dishes with an automatic SF tax. I don't mind paying for the workers tax, but they didn't even want to serve us, and ignored us. A huge skip this place for our entire table.

Yelp
Barely any crab in the crab cakes and I was not a fan of the vegan risotto. The risotto was more like a quinoa and had a curry flavor that I was not expecting. I would not order them again. The only dish I enjoyed was the fried calamari. Ambience and service were great.

Matt B.

Yelp
The staff is extremely friendly, and Max and Ben in particular are not only creative bartenders but great hosts. Happy hour here is a blast. The location is of course spectacular, with stunning sunset views. Be sure to visit Friday evenings to hear Jennifer Murphy's jazz combo.
google avatar

Curt F.

Yelp
When in the Bay Area the Beach Chalet is a must. Try to book a table for around Sunset so can get an amazing view as the sun going down. The food is decent and the quality is perfect. The service was spot on. Parking on the weekend can be a little tricky with the beach right there.

Jack S.

Yelp
Disappointed that the upstairs host declined to seat us in a nearly empty restaurant at 3:00 because we weren't having "dinner". Downstairs staff was much friendlier and welcoming. The three stars was splitting the difference between zero for upstairs and 5 for downstairs. Cass (downstairs waitress) saved the day. And BTW, the upstairs restaurant was still almost empty when we left.

Yelp
Everything is top notch! Our favorite! Whether brunch or dinner, whether catching up with friends or romantic date night. Checking out waves or sunset. This is the place to be. Staff are all accommodating.

Yelp
FRI 12/6/24, 2:30pm;Beautiful sunny day, hostess very pleasant, party of 3 to booth table with fantastic view; two fish and chips, two beers, one Coffee. My order: sea bass. Sorry, didn't smell fresh, what believe they did : long defrost, then overcooked. Smell was very much not fresh. Will never repeat. DRR ALSO, A suggestion to the server: place dish in front of guest, with entre, gently, not as was done; almost throwing it down. Why is San Francisco loosing so much business. That is one reason.

Kathie A.

Yelp
I've been eating here for years! Always a good meal and a good drink! Nice view of the ocean also
google avatar

Yelp
My first time here for lunch , the food is ok, I enjoyed the shrip&crab cake very much, very tasty & health salad with a mushed avocado burried under the salad under the crab cake itself! I didn't like the chowder, something wrong with it, zero taste and consistency is very off, I found it very liquidy not like the chowder I have seen in the past, I wish I order the tomato soup. The service very nice especially the front desk gentlman is very nice and profetional, also the service is very fast if that is important to you. The ambiance is very loud as more people get there for lunch. The customers as very varied by age and mostly seniors for lunch. The view is breath taking , for that I will come back if I am around but next time will stay away from the chowder.

Yelp
More restaurant than brewery. Great fish now. Ocean view at all tables reservaations accepted

Yelp
[This review strictly pertains to the prime rib dinner available on Mondays.] Sadly, this is easily the worst prime rib dinner I've ever had. I ordered the Chalet cut, and it arrived cooked just as I'd asked. So far so good! The meal also includes a caesar salad, baked potato, yorkshire pudding, and gravy. Salad = Straightforward, appetizing enough with a reasonable amount of dressing, though bordering on almost a little over-dressed. It then went downhill fast... Prime rib = Cook temp/doneness was great! However, the piece was so gristlely and flavorless. Each bite was shockingly bland. Gravy = Why was it so sweet?! Baked potato = As bland and the prime rib. The gravy was awful and distateful to me, and the sour cream couldnt make up the flavor deficit. Creamed spinach = No evidence of any seasoning. Utterly bland! Yorkshire pudding = Fine, if not a little overly baked and dry. The others our party enjoyed their meals, so I don't know what happened here. Would not order again or recommend.
google avatar

Jessica T.

Yelp
Beautiful views, good food, but the service was really, really slow. If did not seem that they were short staffed (three different servers in our section) but took forever to place our orders, forever to get our food, and eventually we waived down someone to get the check after sitting at a cleared table for quite some time. Not cheap either, but you are definitely paying for some gorgeous views.
google avatar

Audrey A.

Yelp
Located on the second floor with a stunning view of Ocean Beach. The scenery was definitely a highlight! Unfortunately the food didn't quite match our expectations. While the fried calamari and the bread were enjoyable, the other dishes fell flat. The seafood deviled eggs tasted off, and the filling of the Maine Lobster and shrimp roll was served too cold, which was disappointing. Overall, the atmosphere was lovely, but wish the food matched it.

Yelp
My husband and I were pondering where to eat after the doctor's appointment in the morning. Well we ended at Beach Chalet. Driving to Ocean Beach and seeing the beautiful waves crashing on the shoreline was definitely a nice ride. We arrived in between the menus of breakfast and lunch. We decided to wait for 10 minutes to be seated for lunch. We got the table by the window with the view of the ocean. The sunny weather contributed to our Fridate. We ordered VFW Blonde for brew drinks. The taste was similar to Blue Moon for which we liked. For starters, we had the Brussels Sprouts. We enjoyed the light spiciness and tangy seasoning on brussels. My husband had the Fish and Chips. A three-piece portion of fish but small than before was served. He liked the hot beer battered rock cod fish though but he noticed the fries were not crispy enough. I ordered the Whole Grilled Branzino with herb stuffing and sitting on Paella rice. It was delish. For casual dining, this is a good place to dine with the view of the water. We don't mind coming back.

Yelp
We just finished thanksgiving dinner. What a horrible experience. At these prices, I expect more. They couldn't even get a prix fixe menu right. Service was crap. It's obvious they were understaffed. The waiter clearly mis-counted the number of folks at the table when he took our order, as they were short one plate for the salad/soup course and the entree. He then retook our order for dessert. My son got his risotto well after everyone was eating. We ended up moving empty plates off our table, and grabbing silverware from the table next to us. The fish -- which I had -- was dry as a bone. I assume they had cooked a ton of fish earlier in the day to make service easier. When I complained to the waiter, I told him I either wanted a freshly cooked piece of fish, or the risotto if they could not fire a new piece of fish for me. It didn't come as a surprise that I got the risotto My wife also had the fish and hers was dry as well. A few folks at the table had turkey, and they also noted how dry it was. We were charged for bread? Seriously? After screwing up so much, they couldn't at least comp us bread? On the plus side, the desserts were not bad. Of course, those are meant to sit around for hours at a time. Drinks were pretty good, although it was a pain getting those ordered. Overall, a bad experience and a total ripoff. Will not be going back.

Yelp
Great view and food makes a place wonderful such as this. My party and I went in the afternoon right before the sunset and oh boy was it amazing. The food and service were superb. The view from the window seats topped it off! Parking was easy to find for the location. I would recommend the branzino with the chorizo on the side. Waiter was very knowledgeable with the pairings and even offered some solid combinations.

Yelp
Update 7/24: We came in for brunch to enjoy the Crab Benedict again. My fiancé asked for extra hollandaise. I didn't have any of it but he managed to get through at least half of the small gravy boat. Unfortunately, 3 hours later, food poisoning symptoms set in so it was a terrible evening. @Beach Chalet kitchen, until you improve your food safety standards, we won't be coming back for a while...

Yelp
Extremely slow service. Food was average but high priced. I was not impressed. The only reason to go here is for the beach view. The drink was tasty but not too strong. The calamari was very good. Crispy, buttery and tender. The Brussel sprouts were 100% better tasting than they looked. Some mild kind of vinaigrette sauce along with nuts. The butternut squash soup was flavorless and gross. I asked the waiter 3 times for lemons to go with my water. He was not attentive at all and had too many tables to properly care for each table. The host was downstairs and another host upstairs so it was a bit confusing at first. HEALTH SCORE NON-CRITICAL VIOLATIONS: Standard not met: FLOORS, WALLS AND CEILING: BUILT, MAINTAINED AND CLEAN Time to be acknowledged 5/5 Time to be seated 3/5 Return value 1/5 Customer service 2/5

Yelp
The food was fantastic. It was a late company holiday dinner. The ambience is wonderful. You can see right onto Ocean Beach, which is always fabulous day or night The waite staff were impeccable very kind and courteous. Didn't mind when we asked for extra plates for the tables there were at least 12/13 of us. Now to the food, we had a choice of appetizers, crab cake, ,poke, brussels sprouts, Barata cheese Pork chop. Short ribs, salmon, roasted chicken all very good and presented. Beautifully thank you. Beach Chalet Management for whiskey samples and fantastic wait staff.

Yelp
This is an update: Food remains good at this place, the view is gorgeous, spectacular on a clear day which it was on this day that I visited. Our server seemed busy and preoccupied, wore a don't give a sh*t face, but she was efficient and courteous enough. Maybe she wasn't having a good day, but it sure felt uninviting. I hope things went better for her as the day wore on. Nonetheless, this remains a gem of a place as part of my regular rotation.

Yelp
Chalet take 2 and action! This will be our 2nd time visiting Chalet (our first was at Park Chalet w/ our dog; check my review out on park chalet!) This time it was for a special occasion. My anniversary! We booked online a reservation for two, upon arrival we were seated on time. Around this time (Dec) there are lots of holiday decorations that add the ambient lighting needed for a romantic vibe. You also get a great view of the ocean, overlooking the pacific ocean. Ambience+XmasTunes+view= Success. We started with their holiday special drinks. Each one uniquely flavored, and yes they are worth every penny! 1) I ordered a bourbon hot drink called Yuletide Glogg, I highly recommend this drink. There is an old saying that hot alcohol soothes the body and mind. I would agree this holiday drink i've had in ages. Mulled wine+ bourbon! 2) She ordered Eggnog Martini, this drink is also wonderful. Vanilla Vodka + Eggnog! We ordered an appetizer and soup to start with. This was served fairly quickly with the drinks, Enough time to eat it and wait for the main course! 1) Brussel sprouts: Love these sprouts! We had them before and cannot get enough of it. Roasted garlic and toasted almonds scattered on top of their savory caramelized onion sauce. 2) Pacific Clam Chowder: Clam chowder in sf is a must have. I would recommend going with this if you are not sure what to get. They serve it with smoked bacon with little bits of house crackers spread out. The chowder has a perfect texture of creamy and liquid. I would say it's not heavy at all. 3) Whole Grilled Branzino: This fish is so good! Served w/ garlic chorizo rice and greens, we enjoyed every bite. There was none left over after everything. 4) Fish n Chips: Standard yet I love it! Usually places are heavy with the batter on the rock cod, leaving small slices. Beach chalet is the exact opposite. Rock cod lightly battered, wasn't oily at all, and the fries are not steak cut, they are thin! Decent sized slices I might add, for a total of three. All in all this was a great 2nd entree to share with the main Branzino. Service: Excellent staff overall, our server kept checking in on us and also removing old plates. Very friendly. Food came in time, we felt like everyone cared! We will be coming back :)

Yelp
Food has gone downhill. Service was so slow, they only had 1 guy working for a section with 15 or so tables and it was packed for lunch. View was the reason for the extra star.

Yelp
We had a fabulous dinner and our waiter Joel was so polite and kind - service was amazing and the view was spectacular.. we got to meet the general manager Ivor and what a handsome Irishman who was delightful to meet.. If you want a nice dinner go the Beach Chalet and watch the sun go down and sit in Joel's section

Yelp
The food, service and view were all awesome. Appreciated the quick service and catering to our hunger. One can stare at the ocean and appreciate the seafood platter.

Yelp
You're paying for the view of the Pacific. Food's very basic and ltd. Drinks are good. Prices are stiff. The sunny day we visited (right after Christmas) the place was packed. The staff (except the hostess) were bustin' their behinds, but were still friendly.

Yelp
Took my GF there for her birthday. It is a lovely historic building. They got us window seating. Service was courteous. Food was good.

Yelp
Food was sub par at best. And the cost $$$. Steak over cooked, more mayo than lobster on the lobster roll. The only thing that was really good was the bread.

Yelp
A bright, if even brisk, day on the coast of the Bay Area is a magical thing. Views, joggers, doggos and eucalyptus trees dot beautiful beaches for as far as the eye can see. And from the road you might miss it if you blink, you see an unassuming parking lot abudding an unassuming building. The full glass windows on the 2nd floor hint at opportunity. A neighborhood staple and the perfect location to bring out-of-town friends to showcase why San Francisco really is a beautiful city, the Beach Chalet brings charm to all levels of the experience. Be sure to make reservations, especially for brunch, because folks are coming for chonky bloody's and even chonkier portions of hash. The service is fast and full of smiles. The dishes hit the spot, but the magic really is a window seat with the views. Don't blink.

Yelp
Just tried to enjoy a quiet breakfast overlooking the ocean and the host won't seat me explaining that window seats were restricted to larger parties. It was 10:25am and the dining room including the window tables had almost no customers. As a native San Franciscian, I gave been seated by the window by myself numerous times in the past and enjoyed the wonderful corned beef and coffee. Obviously, the owners don't need the revenue and would rather accommodate tourists so I will take my business elsewhere. I strongly recommend you do as well. In the hospitality industry, those 1st few moments of interaction between the customer and the employee become a lasting first impression. One that I shall share to all in the future.
