"Pasta aficionados will find paradiso in this petite and casual restaurant-turned-enoteca, set on a busy but bucolic stretch of Rockridge’s main artery. Boasting an impressive passel of regulars who frequently park at the bar to chat with the owner in Italian between bites, Belotti dabbles in the traditional cuisine of Piemonte.Envision such hearty dishes as brasato—braised beef with mushrooms served over polenta and finished with a nebbiolo reduction. House-made pastas are also a major attraction here, including the heirloom grain spaghettini in a tomato sauce with creamy burrata. But more unexpected dishes excel as well: try the delicious butter lettuce salad with lemon and pine nuts, or the decadent tortino, a spinach flan with egg yolk and truffle." - Michelin Inspector

Where to Eat and Drink in Rockridge | Eater SF

"Chef Michele Belotti, born and raised in a small town northeast of Milan, brings his love for simple, heartfelt cuisine of his homeland to Rockridge’s vast Italian scene. Honoring traditional methods and using local ingredients to craft an approachable menu where his homemade, soul-warming pasta is the star, standouts include the casoncelli, his mom’s Lombardian-style stuffed pasta with beef, prosciutto, pork shoulder covered in sage brown butter sauce. Belotti also churns out a small selection of impressive entrees, such as the 13-hour slow-cooked suckling pig. You can also now take out fresh pasta from the botega in Piedmont." - Clara Hogan

The Best East Bay Restaurants That Are Open for Takeout and Delivery | Eater SF

"This unassuming Italian spot in Rockridge is the king of fresh pasta in the East Bay, thanks to the talents of chef Michel Belotti, whose rich, egg yolk–intensive pasta dough is the restaurant’s stock in trade. The restaurant is offering its full menu for takeout from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The more casual, takeaway-oriented bottega on Piedmont Avenue is also open for takeout and delivery via Caviar." - Luke Tsai

Google
TLDR: great service and amazing food We sat at our reservation at 11:05 and loved the simple menu. Our server was helpful with recommendations and we ordered an appetizer, three entrees and two desserts. The lettuce salad they were nice enough to split into three separate portions and it was tasty with the pine nuts. The entrees were great, I loved my stuffed pasta and my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed her mushroom pasta. My friend got a gluten free pasta with bolognese and she also enjoyed it. Dessert we tried the chocolate pasta and it was very interesting, nothing I’ve tried before! All in all, a great experience and fair prices

We visited Belotti to catch up with friends over lunch, and we all absolutely loved the food. Since we had our dog with us, we opted for an outdoor table. Despite the chilly weather, the heaters kept us warm. We shared three different salads, each one a delight. Everyone chose a unique pasta dish, and we sampled each other's plates—every single one was delicious. Of course, we couldn't resist dessert, so we ordered three varieties, all of which were excellent ! The panna cotta and tiramisu were particularly outstanding, possibly the best I've ever tasted. The staff were friendly and welcoming as well. Highly recommend!

Google
What can I say other than they've been doing perhaps the best pasta in the bay area for years now. Always busy, always amazing. I'll keep coming back here as long as they're around.

Google
We've been coming here since they opened, and it has always been consistent. Some of the best homemade pasta in the Bay Area and will rival anyplace in Italy. Great wine wine list and great service. Highly recommend!

Really delicious Italian food! The pastas are each fresh, flavorful, and unique. Absolutely recommend a reservation.

We came to dine here for our anniversary. The service was mediocre. I had told them we came to dine for our anniversary, but they never communicated this to our server. We were sat at the bar even though we had a reservation. Additionally, the wine selection was not great. It was so bad we went out and purchased a Bottle of wine. My wife is a vegetarian and there almost no vegetarian options k. The food was overly salty. We were so excited about trying the fresh pasta and wine and were sorely disappointed. The bright spot in the night was the desert and our waitress who was warm and welcoming.

Google
This restaurant is a mixed, negative bag. The Pros: The hostess was friendly and accommodating and modified my reservation for one person on the same day, which I appreciated. The pasta here is good, but not great. The wine list is diverse, but the wines were a bit stale, lacking freshness, and were served way too warm. Usually an indication of bottles left open too long and/or stored poorly. I also enjoyed meeting and chatting with fellow diners at the bar. The Cons: The surprising negative to the evening was after I finished my desert and cocktail, the bartender abruptly delivered the check to my table. Most high level restaurants adhere to a polite, professional protocol, which is to ask the guest if they would like anything else to eat or drink. When I told the bartender that I was considering ordering something else, he said, “Sorry, the boss told me that we have to sit another reservation at the bar.” Having dinned at Michelin restaurants around the world, this came across as rude, unprofessional and discriminatory—especially since I noticed there were plenty of seats available. The "so-called boss” should realize that in order to build a loyal and lasting clientele you need to provide your guests with a pleasurable, joyful experience from beginning to end. The best owners/general managers usually walk the floor, greet their guests and thank them for coming and encourage them to come again. Obviously, this "klutz boss” doesn’t value these fundamental service principles. Thus, I responded with a paltry tip and and this honest review. Don’t waste your money here—you’re better off eating dinner and enjoying a fabulous experience at Enoteca Molinari or A16.

Google
This place WOWed me a great deal! One of those true gastronomic experiences that one would appreciate and remember for a long time! 100% highly (and highly) recommended. I was told by their service folks that it is best to come in with no more than 4 person party. Big group NEEDS month+ reservation in advance. Yes... that good!!

Yelp
The first time I tried to come here was on a Tuesday night at around 6:00 pm. We tried to get a table for four and they told us it was almost a two hour wait! We ended up going somewhere else but lesson learned - make a reservation. A few weeks later I finally got to try Belotti and it 100% did not disappoint! The food was amazing and our server was great. We ordered four pastas and the beef tartare. Everything tasted so good, but my favorite pasta was definitely the mushroom one. All the pastas are also made in house so they were cooked to perfection. One of our dishes was unfortunately a bit on the salty side, but the chef gladly took it back and offered us free desserts to compensate which was incredibly nice of them. I dream of the next time I can come back and order the beef tartare. The restaurant is pretty small. They do have an outdoor seating area which is on the sidewalk around the corner, but definitely make a reservation if you can because they do fill up. I guarantee you I will be back here to try everything else on the menu!

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in Berkeley, whether it's a casual evening or a special occasion. The restaurant has a charming, understated vibe with a cozy dining room and a small patio area. Since seating is limited, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. The food here is absolutely delicious, featuring a selection of northern Italian cuisine. The pasta is fresh, light, and perfectly prepared. Every dish is beautifully presented and well-balanced in flavor. The service is consistently excellent, and the portion sizes are just right. Casoncelli bergamaschi is one of my personal favorites. I almost don't want to share this place because it's just that good.

Yelp
Belotti is perfect! Had an amazing first time experience thanks to our server/bartender and the lack of misses in our food. We will be back! We started off with the Lattuga salad which had the creamiest leaf and the pine nuts made it perfect. The papardelle mushroom was incredible - it was simple but very intentional! It had the perfect al dente. We ended with the tiramisu which was so rich in the coffee table and one of the bests we've ever had. Every dish was consistent. We paired it with white wine suggested by our server which only enhanced the experience. The beautiful and romantic atmosphere just put a bow on top.

Yelp
This place easily became one of my favorite restaurants. The food was delicious! The bruschetta was fresh. Had fragolotti for the first time and it was yummy. So unique that it is a pasta dessert. Loved that it wasn't too sweet. Only con is that it is a small restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. My friend and I sat outdoors since it had no wait and it was quite cold. Luckily they have heaters. It's not the biggest side walk so I got a bit distracted when pedestrians walked by. Will make a reservation to sit indoors next time.

Yelp
Belotti is one of my favorite restaurants in the area! The service provided at Belotti is always exceptional, and the restaurant provides a romantic and intimate atmosphere for dinner. I would 100% recommend ordering the "Anatra" or the seared duck breast. For ~$30, it is absolutely worth every penny Easily one of the best duck that I have ever eaten in my life, and I routinely go here, just for the duck alone! We also got the "Lattuga" salad which although was very pretty, I thought was pretty mediocre. I felt that the butter lettuce was not properly strained enough, and it was still watery, which caused lemon dressing to not attach to the lettuce. The beef tartare is also decent, although is not the best that I ever had. We mainly ordered it because my friend never tried beef tartare before, and she wanted to see if it was similar to Korean yukhoe. It was definitely good, but if I was the restaurant, I would consider replacing the chips(?) with something else as breaking them was difficult, and if I were to order it during a date. I wouldn't want my date or myself to have it break and fall on my lap. My friend also ordered their most popular dish, the Agnolotti Di Lidia which is stuffed pasta with beef shank, which was exceptional as well. Rich, savory meat encapsulated in a pasta, what's not to like? I would recommend getting reservations though as they do get busy at dinner!

Yelp
I was able to snag a reservation for a Friday a day in advance. There weren't many available options (all were outdoor) and the time slots were for around 5pm or 8pm. No in between, so it would be smart to plan around a week in advance if possible. We sat in their outdoor section on the sidewalk which was quite nice. They have space heaters which were working overtime but we'd rather be toasty than freezing outside. What's nice is that even though it's on a sidewalk off of College Ave., it doesn't get a whole lot of foot traffic so it feels somewhat removed. The food at Belotti's is always consistent. Most of the things I've tried on the menu always hit the spot and leave me satisfied. Pretty much anything you get will be a safe option. What I will say is that the black truffle's on the agnolotti were plentiful, but not as pungent as I would've expected. Probably wouldn't add them on again next time. Our food came out in less than 15 minutes, so no complaints there!

Yelp
Wow. What a brilliant culinary experience. My husband and I have been wanting to try this spot for forever, but with reservations needed in advance and limited seating options, we haven't had the opportunity until this past weekend. Enjoying the Rockridge Rock and Stroll over the weekend, I came in to see if they had any tables available for our party. Now with a baby, indoor eating at certain restaurants can be very tricky with no reservations. After getting a bit discouraged, our party was crossing the street when a waiter came and tapped me on the shoulder letting me know a big party was leaving and they could accommodate us and our baby/stroller situation...outstanding..when does that ever happen in the Bay? The customer service continued to be exceptional with Frank. The vibes were high after hearing such rave reviews for this place with my dad continuously repeating "you won't find pasta this good outside of Italy anywhere else in the Bay Area", excitement was an understatement. Beautiful cocktails served with the bruschetta tomato basil - buffalo mozzarella and Lattuga salad to start (butter lettuce with toasted pine nuts). Both dishes so simplistic and fresh, yet filled with bursts of flavor and incredibly picturesque. Everyone in our party ordered a different pasta variety so we could all share and compare: the Casoncelli Bergamaschi (meat stuffed pasta in a butter sage sauce), Gnocchi Bolognese (I subbed the gnocchi for the recommended tagliatelle which is a long, narrow pasta similar looking to fettuccini but lighter and less dense, the Pasta Alla Ligure (basil filled pasta with green beans and potato), and the Bigoli Al Sugo D'Anatra (bigoli pasta in a duck sugo). We had just watched an episode of Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy and in Season 2, Episode 8 titled Liguria, he tries Genoese pesto. A dish incredibly special to the region which includes green beans/potato, so it was so fun to try this first hand over the weekend. Belotti nailed the dish and it was by far my favorite. The pasta and sauce tasted pillowy ~ light and just heavenly. The bolognese was hearty, and I could imagine the love put into the recipe reminiscent of my dad's own Sunday kitchen. We ended the meal with the tiramisu, a large bowl of affogato, and a panna cotta on the house for baby blessings! Delicious. All in all, it's been a long journey the last few months on maternity leave, and quite honestly I was left speechless in the best way possible. From the service filled with fun and Frank's warm East coast energy, to the exceptional homemade pasta and tummy filling goodness, no notes. 5/5

Yelp
Came here for a work lunch and it was amazing. The antipasto was beautiful and also delicious. I chose the brasato which was cooked to perfection. We sat outside and it was wonderful. They moved umbrellas for us & our waitress was full of energy. Overall we had a great experience and will be back soon!

Yelp
Last Tuesday, I had a lovely "sister's date." We enjoyed getting our nails done across the street and decided to try this restaurant based on its glowing reviews. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the high expectations set by others. We arrived just after noon and noticed there were only two other tables occupied, with a total of five patrons, including us. We were promptly seated, and the staff quickly brought us menus and water. Initially, they were attentive, but we felt pressured to order drinks right away. After being asked four times, it seemed that they saw no value on serving us "right" since we were not consuming alcohol, which I don't think it should be the norm, sometimes we just want to enjoy the food without the buzz. We decided to share a charcuterie board and ordered the famous broccoli and mushroom pasta. While we genuinely loved the food--the broccoli certainly lived up to the hype--the service left much to be desired. We struggled to get the waitress's attention and, incredibly, it took an hour and a half from our arrival to receive our food. We were given bread while we waited, but it felt like an eternity before the charcuterie board arrived, followed by another lengthy wait for the pasta. When the food finally came, I immediately requested the bill. I suppose three hours isn't too bad if you're having a great time, but that wasn't our experience. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in the delicious flavors, but the long wait on a Tuesday on a almost empty restaurant was quite excessive. It seemed like the server's attitude had shifted as well--perhaps he was having an off day. Despite the issues with service, the food was delightful and reasonably priced, so I won't rate this restaurant too low. However, our overall experience was a bit disappointing

Yelp
Overall good vegetarian options for pastas and appetizers. The watermelon salad tasted very refreshing. We tried the pasta with peaches and mushrooms. I've never had pasta with peaches before, so I was unaccustomed to the sweetness. We also tried the pasta alla ligure which I enjoyed better. Reminded me of tortillini. For dessert, we had the panna cotta and tiramisu. Both were excellent. Panna cotta was light, and a great balance of sweet and tart from the raspberries. Tiramisu was more heavy and luscious and strong coffee flavor. The mocktail, rosemary alchemia was very flavorful and not too sweet or bitter. Service was prompt and we ate outdoors. A little pricey but a nice experience.

Yelp
A very lovely setting with delicious food. My husband and I were delighted to come here for our anniversary. There aren't many tables because it's a small space, so be prepared to either wait or make a reservation if you can. Every single thing we ate was incredible so I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Service was also good.

Yelp
This place is amazing! We were able to sit at the bar without a reservation during Friday lunch, but I would definitely get one if you want a sure thing! Our server and bartender Brenn was great conversation and very knowledgeable of the menu and what wine to pair. We tasted the wine first and ended up getting a bottle to go with our Braised Beef on saffron risotto. We split the meal, but I could easily have eaten the whole thing myself. The wine was a perfect pair. Finished up with one of the best espresso martinis i have had. The patrons at the bar were fun and talkative and couldn't stop raving about how great Thai place was. It's small and quaint and cozy. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Belotti has some of the best service in the bay! Our server was well versed in the menu and even had a practice our Italian. We started with the Battuta, grass fed ribeye aged beef tartar, which melts in your mouth. We didn't even take a picture as we jumped right into this starter. The Casoncelli BERGAMASCHI with a white buttery sauce and pancetta and the Pasta Alla Ligure in a pesto sauce were out of this world. Definitely homemade and made with love. Don't forget the desert menu as we made some room! The ambiance is definitely date night vibes but we do lots of families and friends there as well. If you're looking for authentic Italian pasta and wanna eat and not take pictures because it's sooo good, this is the place for you!

Yelp
Amazing! Came here for a double date, ordered a salad, a selection of the fresh house made pastas, and the dessert. Busy fun atmosphere on a Tuesday night.

Yelp
Probably one of the best pastas that I've ever had. Granted I don't eat a whole lot of pasta, but I'm one of those picky eaters if that helps. Anyway, we ordered the mushroom pappardelle and agnolotti di lidia (the first pasta on the menu) with a insalata golasa (burrata cheese) salad to start. Insalata golasa was alright. Nothing to write home about. I suggest skipping. It was mostly lettuce that didn't really have much dressing. I honestly can't remember how long we waited for the salad to start, but we ate all the bread by the time the salad arrived. We thought nothing of it since the restaurant was pretty busy at 5:30pm on a Friday night. Also, since we didn't have reservations, we sat outside near the busy street with lots of cars driving by and people walking really close to you. The smell of gas from the cars wasn't very pleasant and the homeless people that roamed the side walks didn't make the dining experience great. Now the wait was something else. It took them a long time to get our main dishes. Not only that, but refill of bread wasn't offered. I'd say we waited a good 30 minutes before someone came with two dishes that we didn't recognize. One of them was the correct dish, but since the other one wasn't correct, we thought the order just wasn't ours. Instead of the pappardelle with mushrooms, it was the gnocchi with bolognese. The other pasta dish was right though. They walk away and then 10 minutes later, they again bring the same dishes to say are you sure. At that point, I was like um, okay, it's pretty unorganized. It was then confirmed that the agnolotti di lidia was in fact right, but I didn't order gnocchi. The waiter puts both plates down and says the gnocchi is on the house and asked what I actually ordered and would make it right away. I'm just surprised he didn't have it down. Anyway, we really did enjoy the pasta and I particularly liked the gnocchi with bolognese. The gnocchi was soft and pillowy - I've had other gnocchi that was just too firm. And the bolognese sauce was really delicious. I think about this gnocchi bolognese all the time. The pappardelle with mushrooms came shortly after. It was good, but nothing compared to the gnocchi dish. We took home some of the leftovers and microwaved it the following day and it tasted just as good. Now that's good pasta! I'd definitely go back, but maybe just do take out and check my order before I leave. I saw waiters bring other dishes to the other table outside and it wasn't what they ordered. Then another waiter came to our table with a drink that we didn't order, so we said no, not ours and he went to the other outdoor table and they also said no.

Yelp
Belotti is one of our longstanding favorite Italian Restaurants in the East Bay. Homemade pastas and sauces are exceptional! The dining room is warm and welcoming, and the service gracious. Desserts are inventive like the chocolate strawberry ravioli's.

Yelp
How did I not know about this place?! This may have been my best meal of 2024. Food was awesome. Our server was energetic and helpful. And it was really reasonably priced. I'm definitely going back.

Yelp
super cozy and quaint place with a nice bar seating. Server was amazing, and food was overall pretty good, although pricey and in small portions. The mushroom parpadelle was solid and tastes better than it looks. it was less cream and more butter. Bread was randomly so freaking good. The stuffed pasta each had diff types of meat inside and was fun, although portion size was a bit tragic. Tiramisu was not bad but would not get twice

Yelp
Came here on Thursday night for an early dinner. This place is quite popular so be sure to make a reservation beforehand. We got a table outdoor which I would have prefer more if indoor was available for us. We ordered the beef tartare (Battuta), casoncelli bergamaschi, pappardelle ai funghi, and tagliatelle al cinghiale. All the food was delicious. I really enjoyed the beef tartare and I love the freshly made pasta. The tagliatelle is my favorite! Would love to try the beef tartare with truffle next time I come and also the spaghetti

Yelp
My husband is a pasta fanatic so we tend to celebrate special occasions trying out new housemade pasta joints. Belotti came highly recommended and it did not disappoint! Rating Breakdown: 2/2 Stars for Taste -- I had read that the broccoli was vastly underrated and they were so right. This might have been our favorite dish of the night. The broccoli came generously topped with béchamel sauce, and had the perfect little zing from the chili and pancetta. Since we were there for pasta, we ended up ordering three to share rather than ordering a main. My favorite was the tagliatelle with the boar sugo because I'm partial to gamey flavors. My husband's favorite was the agnolotti which he kept calling "italian mandu". The gnocchi was soft and pillowy, overall delicious but less standout than the other two. The complimentary birthday panna cotta was SO good, I'm so glad we had the opportunity to try it because I would never have thought to order it myself. The raspberry coulis was delightfully tart but didn't overwhelm the decadent creaminess of the panna cotta. My husband was scraping the ramekin clean. 1/1 Stars for Value -- You get high quality pasta at reasonable portions for less than $20. With the broccoli side, a cocktail, and tax/tip, we still only spent about $45pp and we were STUFFED. Definitely a date night that pampers without breaking the bank. 1/1 Stars for Customer Service -- We made reservations online in advance and were seated promptly when we arrived. Our server was efficient and even though the restaurant was packed, we didn't feel rushed in any way. The food came out quickly with hardly any wait. My husband appreciated the subtle birthday celebration, he would have been mortified if they made a big production out of it. Bonus star because I would definitely come back, even without a special occasion just to sample my way through the rest of the specialty pastas.

Yelp
This place is a cafe trying to be a bistro. Clearly has taken up the Italian food vacuum that Olivetto left. Service was just ok considering how many people where working and how small the place is. It's very loud and very stuffy, no air flows through. Very good food -not great that is very expensive. We had a salad split and the risotto for 2, a Peligrino and one glass of wine $170.00 w/ tip. Oh and be sure you pay to park -a ticket is $71.00

Yelp
Wow! We've visited three times! My husband was traveling in Italy and loved the town he stayed in Albino. So he searched for Italian food from that area and we stumbled upon Belotti! Beautiful spot! I highly recommend making a reservation for ease. Depending on the size of the dinner party a Belotti Antipasto is a great choice to share with others! Leave room for dessert!

Yelp
Been here dozens of times. Great food every time. Service can be a hit or miss depending on the rush (minus one star for the inconsistent service), so I highly recommend reservations. It's a cozy vibe inside, almost always bustling. Favorites: mushroom pappardelle, salad with beets and hazelnuts, tiramisu, all the wine. Don't ask me to swim in their pappardelle ai funghi. I'll do it.
google avatar

Tenfootelvi S.

Yelp
I really hate to publicly sing the praises of this place because it's become near impossible to get a seat without reserving weeks in advance, but Belotti is probably the most authentic Italian food outside of Italy (and better than many places I've been in Italy). They need to expand. It's really good.
google avatar

Shayda M.

Yelp
Food is pretty solid. Nothing over the top, but definitely a nice bowl of pasta for when you're craving it. The Pappardelle had good flavor, however I feel the portions could be a bit bigger. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is on the sidewalk on the side of the building which was a bit interesting, but it works.

Yelp
True Italian restaurant with handmade pastas to die for. Small and quaint with high quality service. Come in relax and enjoy joy a cocktail. Parking is street, but was easy early. Great, little wine selection from Italy.

Michelle S.

Yelp
Food is always very good....especially when you dine inside as the outside seating is anything but desirable. Our view was parked cars on the street, friends view was the grey blank side of the restaurant. Bare tables, chairs askew and no attempt to improve this unfortunate seating areas appearance. People on the sidewalk walking past..noise from cars, not to mention empty trash/ recycled cans sitting on sidewalk. So unappealing it ruins it for me. Come on, have more appreciation for your guests and put some effort into making this space more desirable.

Laurie A.

Yelp
Delicious food! The restaurant had a cozy ambience inside. Very nice server. We will definitely go back.

Yelp
wow. what a magnificent meal we had here- gorgeous butter lettuce salad, papparadelle with mushroom ragu was extra galactic... out of this world. My wife enjoyed butternut squash tortellini. Simple and tasty wine list and great service sitting at the bar. We will definitely be back. New favorite spot in Oakland. the only reason for not giving 5 stars, is how loud it is ; / make a reservation..maybe go early before it gets too loud

Yelp
Finally got to try this place, and it did not dissapoint. Service was excellent and prompt. Ambiance is friendly and upbeat. The space, as others have mentioned, is small, but there is plenty of room between tables and it is comfortable. Now onto the food.. My partner tried the Aeroplanino di Carta cocktail and it was very good, well balanced and refreshing. The complimentary bread and olive oil - very good high quality olive oil, although bread was not warm. It would have been perfect if it had been. The spinach flan was probably one of the most interesting things I've ever had. It was so delicious. The runny egg yolk in the center and the soft texture of the bright green spinach inside, topped with the truffle shavings, was something out of a Michelin restaurant. Definitely quality over quantity but well worth the experience. For our entrees, we had two vegetarian pastas. The Scarpinòcc de Pàrr and the Pasta Alla Ligure. Both were amazingly done, the Ligure packs a flavorful punch with the fresh basil, which tasted amazing. The Scarpinòcc was also delicious and although less punchy, it was delicate and complex. Both of the sauces complimented the dishes very well. I could not pick a favorite, they were both so good. The pasta itself was cooked well and of high quality. The side of kale and chard was excellent to pair with the carb heavy dinner. Finally, we listed on Resy that it was our anniversary and they surprised us with a Tiramisu with a candle in it. This was the perfect way to end the dinner and was such a nice gesture. It would be great if they had more than just a couple vegetarian options, especially that hen of the woods pasta - it has a beef reduction so we couldn't try it. We reccomend this restaurant and will return!

Yelp
I ordered the spaghetti, agnolotti, and the battuta (steak tartare). Now I don't find myself a food snob. But I do order a lot of DoorDash food due to my work in Oakland while I live in Central Valley California so I've made it my goal to try something new every time I order out I've got a lot of recommendations from nurses and doctors of their favorite restaurants. So here we go. Tonight I wanted some Italian food. This was a top recommendation from staff. Let's get to get to the good part. The spaghetti doesn't have any meat in a tiny box like it's a laughably small to go box and honestly the spaghetti just tasted basic. I probably could've made better spaghetti with noodles and garlic marinara sauce premade, I just really wasn't impressed by it. The agnolotto was actually pretty good. 8/10 flavor. but again it was also tiny serving in a tiny to go box. What is is it with this place and tiny to go boxes and small servings. This place is Italian, which is known for giving you big servings and they're giving you tiny servings like an Indian restaurant. The Tartare was actually my favorite thing. I've never had something like this, and it was really flavorful and unique. If I saw this on the menu somewhere, I would order it again. however, due to the small serving sizes in the laughably small to go boxes I probably will never go here again. /throws hands in air I've said my piece.

Yelp
Loved this place! Food was to die for and we had excellent service. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Definitely a small shop however and you will need a reservation

Yelp
A neighborhood favorite, nestled in the charming Rockridge neighborhood. The salads are outstanding, you cannot go wrong with any of them. The agnolotti pasta was very tasty, with simple ingredients. The restaurant is on the smaller side and very intimate. The service was average. If you are looking for a spot with quality pastas, Belotti is a must try. They even have a pasta shop on Piedmont Ave where you can buy fresh pasta and sauces to go!

Yelp
We absolutely love this place, and its takeout location on Piedmont Ave. and have been raving about it to friends for years. The other day, we had the tagliolini burro e accuighe in addition to our other usual faves. Holy cow, it's stunning. I wanted to leave this review just to give a shout out to that gorgeous dish.

Yelp
Came in with my 2 boys for a late lunch. As a fan of Piedmontese cuisine I was astonished to find out that the chef trained at Guido with its patriarch, Lidia! The salad, plin, carne crudo, and the tagliatelle were spot on! The star of the show was the squash ravioli, easily a top 5 meal.! Service was accommodating. Terrific vibe. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Yelp
This is a small restaurant that I've been too a few times. The food is pretty good, I would say some of The best pasta I've had in the east bay. It's also a great restaurant to have a conversation in, the music is low and unless the other guests are rowdy it's a nice and quiet environment. I've been here a couple times and will definitely come back. This last time I ordered a pasta with peaches and mushrooms that was just weird enough to be delicious, so if your heading there soon I highly recommend that option!

Yelp
Their signature dish, "Agnolotti Di Lidia," is certainly worth a try. The pasta has a very interesting texture and the stuffed meat along with the sauce are excellent. Certainly worth a visit if you're a pasta lover. Easy 5 stars.

Yelp
Spaghetti Pomodoro E Burrata - Hands down the best spaghetti in the Bay. It's a simple classic that they have nailed! The tomato sauce is perfectly balanced and the burrata topper pulls this creamy dream together. Their spaghetti pasta is unique and almost feels like miniature tube pasta...I honestly don't know how the do it! I've tried several of their other dishes but nothing comes close to their spaghetti! On a nice weather evening the outdoor seating is perfect and much more preferable than sitting indoor in my opinion. Order a bottle of wine and you have a perfect date night dinner.

Yelp
Handmade pasta and exceptional service. This place is delicious and people know it. I strongly recommend making a dinner reservation or be willing to wait! I was able to snag the last patio seating reservation for 6pm on a Thursday evening. The ambience is not applicable - just some basic metal patio furniture taking over the public sidewalk on the side of the building - but you are here for the food anyways. We started with their marinated olives and a glass of wine. Little did we know, we would enjoy the Montebruna (2019 Barbera d'Asti from Piedmonte) wine so much that we should've just ordered the bottle! Lesson learned ;) After our aperativo, we ordered our mains. I had the Agnolotti Di Lidia on recommendation from our waiter, and it did not disappoint! In fact, we enjoyed my dish so much that we ordered a second serving to share (with even more wine, because they paired so well)! Finally, we concluded the meal with a tiramisu and espresso. A two hour, dining affair of complete decadence! I cannot wait to return.

Yelp
It's a quality place with quality pasta. I would also say that the price is right especially for the flavor profile you're getting. The staff are kind and welcoming. Definitely recommend this place for your next pasta craving. The only con is that it's street parking so might be hard to find a spot right away.

Yelp
I have to admit I had high hopes for this restaurant being so hard to get reservations and its ratings. We started with a charcuterie plate which was reasonably priced and really good. Unfortunately I can't say the same for their main pasta dishes. Again reasonable prices but they make up for those prices by over charging for the Italian wines. The waitress recommended a amarone which was tasty but once we checked the menu to order a bottle we realized it was $25.50 a glass and $95 a bottle. I took a pass and ordered a $15.50 glass of montepulciano and I could barely get it down. I ended up leaving it. Both mine and my husbands pasta dishes were disappointing. He had the funghi pepperdelle and it lacked flavor and texture was hard rather than melt in your mouth hand made pasta. I ordered the boar Sugo which was ok but nothing to write home about. I ate about half hoping to try a great dessert. I ordered a tiramisu that again was reasonably priced but had no liquor like a traditional Italian one and was over powering by a thick layer of cocoa on top over powering the taste of any other ingredients. . Again I took two bites and couldn't eat. My husband ordered a simple vanilla gelato that arrived at the table right out of a freezer in a glass covered in ice crystals. Gelato is soft and creamy not hard with ice. Terrible. Needless to say we won't be back but I felt it was important to post this because it's over rated. The waitress was rather cold and not engaging at all. I will say the person serving at the bar was very engaging and informative about the dishes and the wines offered. By the way if you make a reservation and don't cancel 24 hours in advance they charge $75 per person to your card that you're required to register at the time of booking. Pretty disappointing.

Yelp
Definite stop anytime in the Bay area. Food is the draw, but so is the staff. Great wine list and cocktails, best place to sit at the bar and enjoy a great evening n

Yelp
This restaurant has excellent food and great service. We had the pappardelle al funghi and brasato. From the very first bite of pappardelle, I could tell it was freshly made! Pasta heaven! It came with organic hen of woods mushrooms and was cooked in a very rich beef reduction. The brasato was succulent and moist and was nicely balanced out by the polenta. Service was attentive and friendly. The ambiance was cool and refined. Great place for a date or small gathering as tables only seat 2 or 4 people. Overall, excellent experience. I'm already planning to come again to try additional menu items!

Yelp
Belotti is an awesome gourmet level Italian restaurant along the quaint College Avenue in Oakland. It serves a series of formidable appetizers, pastas, and main dishes, all very praiseworthy. The place itself is relatively small, and reservations are very very limited, so make sure you make a reservation well in advance. On the other hand a drop in at lunch time during the week does not seem to be a problem, especially if they can set up outside seating when the weather permits. Everything looks very good so it is hard to recommend anything specific, but I enjoyed the Battuta steak tartare with capers and quail egg as well as the Pappardelle Al Funghi in broth. The homemade tiramisu was very delicious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and I very much enjoyed both the food and the experience.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic experience. Came here without a reservation on a Friday for lunch and were able to be seated outdoors. We had the bruschetta (amazing) and Casoncelli Bergamaschi, the stuffed pasta with beef, prosciutto, pork shoulder, grana padano, smoked pancetta, butter, and sage. It was one of the best meals we've had. Absolutely delicious and served with great bread and oil. Would highly recommend coming here.
