Fantastic hidden gem with authentic French flavors. I was craving French onion soup while shopping in soho and ended up here. The ambiance was wonderful and the decor was chic. The service was impeccable. The manager was warm and welcoming and everyone on staff was lovely. Everything we ate was delicious, flavorful and the portions are perfect. We enjoyed the soup, escargot, crispy chicken and Brussels sprouts. I would recommend all of these dishes. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I hope to return again soon. Very thankful for such a lovely dining experience.

Bistro Leo had the best middle eastern food I've tasted in a long time in NYC. I went during their LEV experience when their feature middle eastern food as opposed to just french food and I did not regret coming. The atmosphere of the place is very welcoming and cosmopolitan, and the service was detailed and thoughtful. But let's talk about the food, everything we ordered was the peak of culinary experience! Everything on the menu can be shared and the profile flavors would delight just about any type of guests, from family reunions, to romantic dates, to a night out with your girlfriends. This is I recommend getting since I would order them again: The grilled lamb on cinnamon The Pasta Burekas The Burik The Wild Winter Vegetable Salad The Upside Down Chicken & Rice

Went to the Osteria delle tre panche pop up, since the first time they were in NYC the food was amazing and while it is still good, I feel that it needs a little more variety. Everything tastes the same because it is all covered in the same truffle sauce (which is delicious). However, they have the best cheesecake - which in my opinion is worth the cost every time. Service was decent, a little slow but the place was packed.

My sister have been meaning to dine here and so she suggested this place for us to spend our Thanksgiving lunch together. It was fair dining experience. We had made a reservation and the host seated us right away upon our arrival. There was outdoor seating but the day was quite chilly and so I chose for us to sit inside. The host led us to a table just near the entrance in a tight corner against a pillar leaving me feeling a bit claustrophobic. We asked if we could rotate the table so I could sit next to my sister on the sofa- which the host kindly obliged. For our order, we went for their regular menu and ordered Onion Soup, Duck Prosciutto Pizzette, Steak Tartare, Mussels, and Pommes Frites. Every single dish that came out was delicious, we especially loved the piping hot onion soup. There was, however, an awkward delay in receiving our second set of entrées. Our fries also never made it to the table, in which case we decided to forgo the plate since we were already finishing up with our meal. We surmise that the waitress who took our order did not put in our full order. Otherwise, service was courteous, we were served by two waiters and the host (possibly the floor manager) were all very attentive.

I had high expectations but each of them were surpassed. The food, the service, the atmosphere was absolutely amazing, and very memorable. Each dish was inexplicably superb. I have not stopped talking about this place and can't wait to go back

Google
Went to the pop up they had. At $180 per person! (Including a couple of cocktails each) the quality of the food was not worth it at all. Average food covered in truffle shavings (which is where the cost is). If this was $100 each it wouldn’t have been too bad. But it’s overpriced for the quality of what’s provided. I gave it 2* as the food wasn’t bad it was just shockingly overpriced for what you get.

Came in during their "speciality chef" period and was treated to an Israeli themed menu. Opted for the chicken schnitzel which was prepared on the bone - maybe the best schnitzel I've ever had! Bartender Eric kept me well looked after. A solid five star experience!

Google
A truly classy place. Everything was perfect. Extraordinary service, main course and incomparable deserts. Music was tasteful and we could hear each other’s thoughts. Still not sure why we smiled and laughed so much because the food was serious business. Merci beaucoup

Yelp
I recent planned a bridal shower here for 16 guests. While we booked the venue over a month in advance, it was utterly disappointing and frustrating that the outdoor seating with flowers that we had reserved did not look as pictured. We reconfirmed two days prior to arriving, picture with flowers vs lights and ceiling fan is a big difference considering the main reason we chose this venue was for the floral decor and location. Considering we expected the seating to be decorated as pictured, the bridal party didn't prepare any decorations since we already had a visual as to where and how we wanted things. We were really frustrated and while the event manager was not on site, she did try her best to help navigate and she wasn't aware the flowers were taken down the night before. The restaurant manager offered us to dine inside with a private closed off area and it did end up working out. To be fair, it all worked out at the end and the service was good. They did offer offer complimentary dessert and comped two bottles of champagne but it should've been communicated to us that the flowers would be taken off. The bridesmaids scrambled to run out to nearby floral shops to buy last minute flowers while the bride to be was arriving any minute. That level of anxiety could've been prevented considering we planned over a month in advance. The food was alright, the mussels were decent, steak was a bit dry but the fries that came with it were good. I might come back again but if I do book a large party again, I would definitely have to triple confirm.

Yelp
I ordered three of my most favourite meals. Escargot, French Onion soup and a baguette. While the baguette is pretty much impeccable, the same can't be said about the soup and the escargot. The escargots only tasted like onion and olive oil and the French Onion soup tasted like absolutely nothing. Plain, no flavour, not even the onion is flavourful. Never in my life I don't finish my soup... any kind of soup at all. But this one took the cake. While the service is rather good, definitely I won't be back. Not with such lack of quality.

Yelp
Came here for brunch with four others and it was a very mediocre brunch. I had the soufflé pancake. Friends ordered the smoked salmon brunch, steak frites with truffle fries, and the soho breakfasts. I had a tea. My friends had mimosas and a grapefruit juice. The waiter warned me that the soufflé pancake was really big. Weird but now I realize it's a completely valid warning. The soufflé pancake came with a strawberry compote but it was so small that it was only enough for 1/8th of a slice of the pancake. And there was nothing else on this pancake- a very bland and disappointing dish. The soho breakfast is also laughable for $23. Another mediocre boring dish. The only thing that was decently good was the steak- it was nicely cooked and seasoned and it had a nice crust. The truffle fries were soggy and disappointing though. Oysters were good and fresh. It's a comfortable place to have brunch but it's average food.

Yelp
I'm reviewing the Osteria Delle Tre Panche pop up event. This event showed up on Resy and the truffle immediately caught my eye, so I made a reservation. The space is pretty large, and I was seated at a 2 person table, that was a little less than a foot apart next to the table beside me. If there were people sitting there, I definitely would've heard their conversation. Truthfully, the ambiance was the only nice thing about this place. As for the food, I was so so underwhelmed. 1. ($29) Tortino Al Carciofi - This tasted like a pre-made, sitting under a heating lamp omlette, with truffle over it. It was so disappointing and salty. 2. ($31) Mozzarella in Carrozza (not pictured) - Also so disappointing. Nothing special about this dish, just a chewy and soggy batter with that truffle to bump up the price tag. 3. ($44) Taglioni Al Tartufo - There were noodles and truffle. The texture of the pasta was odd, the sauce was salty as well. It's only redeeming part? The truffle lol. 4. ($48) Tortelli Di Pecorino Di Fossa Al Tartufo - 4 pieces of mostly dough and a grainy textured filling. This is their homemade ravioli, but it was such a miss. 5. ($65) Tagliata Al Tarfufo - It was just strip steak with truffle. Barely seasoned and chewy. This pop up event was just mediocre food with shaved truffle over it to bump its price tag. I guarantee you, that you can make better tasting dishes at home. Buy yourself some fresh truffle and save yourself the trip. The total came out to a hefty $295. I'm telling you, it was NOT WORTH IT.

Yelp
Outdoor ambience: 4 stars; Food - 4.5 stars; Service: 3 stars; Consistent lying, rudeness and incorrect website: zero stars. On the website, happy hour is listed as 4:00-6:30 PM. When I called, the manager assured me that I could order from the HH menu from the outdoor dining. So I booked a table for 5:45 pm. Upon arrival I was icily told: happy hour ends at 6 and can ONLY be ordered from the bar. When I brought up the website - it was laughed off "oh yes, we are in the process of changing it" and as for the manager, " You didn't get the person's name, that's a shame!" I was then told that if I ordered immediately, I could get one round of food from the HH menu. That was 2 months ago - GUESS WHAT? the website is still "in the process" of being corrected. The rudeness and misinformation saddened me because Bistrot Leo has a lot going for it. One of the nicest outdoor spaces in Soho for one. A very nice happy hour menu with great $1.50 oysters. And some flavorful if not mind-blowing food. Both the steak frite and the roasted chicken were easily splittable and perfectly cooked. The roasted chicken was incredibly juicy with a delightful side of sauteed vegtables. The pate app also satisfied. If only management could get their act together.

Yelp
Ummmm no. I was so excited to try this place after seeing this restaurant pop up on my tiktok and I ignored all the warning signs on Yelp and I wish I didn't. First of all, we booked this restaurant 2 weeks ago and the first reservation we got was a Saturday night at 10pm. Luckily, we didn't have any issues getting seated like others described. We ordered: 1) Tortelli Pecorino (ravioli): it was ok. It didn't taste very chewy or fresh and was very mediocre. 2) Mozzarella in Carrozza: essentially an adult fried mozzarella stick. I think it could have been fried a bit more and once, it was just ok 3) Pollo Al Tartufo : this dish was actually pretty good. The chicken was very moist and the dish was flavorful overall. 4) Maccheroncetti red sauce: most disappointing of them all... I wouldn't be surprised if you found a bunch of Barilla rigatoni boxes in the kitchen. This pasta did NOT taste fresh and the sauce was less than mediocre. 5) bread: it's an extra $3 and it was literally burnt The girls seated next to us were also disappointed (their bread was also burnt) and said they would not be returning. Although we didn't order the cheesecake, the girls did and they said it was the only redeeming dish on the menu. Lastly, the bathroom situation was chaotic. There's only one men's stall and men were literally ducking into the women's bathroom. What kind of restaurant that serves heavy and creamy dish only has one stall for such a crowded restaurant.... Our bill came to $200 with 4 dishes, side of bread, and 1 glass of wine. This price tag was not worth it and I will certainly not be coming back nor recommending this place to anyone.

Yelp
Had reservations for Bistrot Leo on one of the coldest nights in NYC. Was regretting the decision to be out on Christmas but this beautifully decorated French restaurant definitely lived up to our expectations! To warm up we decided to start our meal with a French onion soup that felt like a warm hug and was divine. It was just what we needed with the 10 degree weather outside. For our entrees we went with the lobster Thermidor- definitely the best thing we ate that night! It was seasoned to perfection and delicious. We also ordered the steak frittes au poivre. The steak and fries were great but the poivre sauce was a bit underwhelming in my opinion. We had to end our meal with the creme brûlée. It was creamy and delicious and big enough for two to share. Overall, great service, food, and ambience and would definitely come back here.

Yelp
Initially, I was let down by how limited their NYC Restaurant Week menu ($39) was--the entree options are Steak au Poivre and Salmon en Papillote, and their dessert options are Berries & Cream and Fruit Tarte. Salmon is already part of their All Day menu, and the Berries & Cream is near identical to another dessert on their All Day Menu: Strawberries & Cream (basically swapping out strawberries for seasonal berries). To me, part of the appeal of Restaurant Week is for the restaurant to be a bit inventive and to also offer a different menu from their day-to-day one. It also struck me as odd that such a nice restaurant didn't offer bread for free, so we purchased the baguette. Honestly, I would've expected more bread (and butter!) for $4. That being said, I liked the intimate indoor dining setting I had, in particular how empty it was on a Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. It seemed like most people preferred to eat outdoors, which worked in our favor. It was a bit challenging to flag someone down at first to take our order, but once we placed our order, things were smooth sailing from there. Water was refilled at just the right time when our glasses were almost empty. My steak was actually--to my surprise--cooked medium rare as I had requested and not rare (something to worry about if you read other reviews). As for the fruit tart, the rainier cherries tasted and resembled grapes more than cherries. They still tasted good, just not what I expected. Overall, I'm glad I came here for Restaurant Week, but I'm not sure I'd come by otherwise.

Yelp
TLDR: should have checked Yelp before going; don't wear shorts in the summer ---- Went to check out Bistrot Leo for restaurant week. Cute decor but lack of people at 7pm should have been a warning sign. Got multiple mosquito bites despite being indoors! Food: French onion soup- average, broth not super rich Fried chicken- huge order of chicken breast nuggets- crispy and not dry! Came with a tiny (ketchup container size!) of onion salad, and a very watered down honey sauce. Steak frites- steak looked like it was charred and rolled in charcoal (have never seen steak that black before, should have looked at Yelp photos before ordering). The exterior was very off-putting and destroyed the eating experience. Fries were good. Crème Brûlée- topped with fresh fruit, which is about all I can say about it. Chocolate Cremeux- very rich, maybe too rich. Service: Busser very efficient, server might be new- missed items we ordered, and do dn't ask what cook we wanted for the steaks

Yelp
This was the last night of this Pop up restaurant. It was located a hotel on Tompson Street! During the day it's the Bistrot Leo, but for the month it was Osterria delle tre Panche. It was all about truffles! We had a reservation and were seated immediately. As soon as we were seated, our server asked us about drinks! The service was EXCELLENT! not quite sure what other helpers were talking about. We were served rather quickly for everything we ordered. In my eyes, a little too fast. I would have liked it to be spaced out. We had drinks, and started with the beef Carpaccio. It was really the best I ever had. It was nice and thick. It had a substantial amount of truffles on it too! Then we had the ravioli with the truffles. Then we shared the Veal Milanese, again with a very good amount of truffles. We had an order of bread. This is the 2nd place I have gone to, Italian, and they don't automatically serve you bread. You need to buy it. The only thing I could have passed on, was their famous cheese cake. I have Never had warm cheese cake. To me, it was more of like "flan" then cheesecake! I am glad we got to experience this pop up. A friend told me, knowing how we love truffles! And there was no shortage of truffles! Food, and service was excellent!!

Yelp
Cute spot in Soho inside of the Sixty Soho hotel! I stopped by for lunch after a morning of travel and in between meetings. Very friendly and attentive service. My only complaint is that there are next to no vegetarian options on the lunch menu. Pretty much could only order a salad, and I got a side of fries to hold me over. I probably wouldn't come back unless for drinks or if their other menus have more options.

Lynn G.

Yelp
Spotty service due to shift change I think. but fabulous vibe. Cozy and pretty for a date night. ...Except I was at the bar solo lol after long work day. I walked up Broadway from Battery Park to Soho in search of a French restaurant for quintessential French style chicken after no lunch and toast for breakfast. Walked away from 3 other places - one took the chicken off menu, one had an annoying interim period between brunch and dinner with no food, last one was so packed with millennials trying to get in for the all day brunch at 4 pm. Bistrot Leo gave me chill resting spot, yum French onion soup, perfect French style chicken, and a glass of rose.

Yelp
I came here with a large group of friends on a Saturday night. We were able to easily make a reservation for 8 last minute, which is always a concern. However, I was generally satisfied with my experience and meal except for the absurd length of time it took for our entrees to come out - they blamed it on the steak, which I don't really get because we ordered the steak medium rare, so it shouldn't take that long to prepare. That being said, they did comp us a bottle of wine, so it was a nice gesture. We shared several things for the table: Warm Baguette, shishito peppers, caesar salad, roasted cauliflower and duck tagliatelle - all of which were very good. For the main, most people ordered a steak frites, which was cooked to a nice medium rare. I ordered the filet, and was pretty impressed with how it came out, it was also a pretty generous size. Overall, I'm disappointed that the service/kitchen was not able to deliver properly in terms of organization and timing because upon reflection the food was pretty good. I'd consider coming back if they get their timing more together.

Yelp
Restaurant Week review. It's a nice restaurant, and the staff is really friendly, but I didn't think that the restaurant week dinner seemed to be worth the money. Came on a Friday night and it was pretty lively. The weather was nice, so got to take advantage of the outdoor seating in the front. Restaurant Week meal consisted of 3 course. The shrimp appetizer was probably my favorite... 4 shrimp covered in apple, mint and some other garnishing. Selected the branzino for the main. It was cooked well, but it was a little too simple... came with a side of a handful of veggies, and some sauce. Dessert was the most underwhelming. I had higher expectations given that this is a French place, but both presentation and taste wise, it was fairly average... similar to what I would expect to find at a much cheaper place.

Yelp
We came here for a birthday celebration. The place has great ambiance and our server was attentive. The hamburger was fine, nothing special. The duck frites were the highlight of the meal --cooked perfectly to a juicy medium rare with delicious crispy skin. For dessert we tried the floating island, creme brulee, and banana pain perdu. The floating island had interesting flavors, but lacked something more substantial for our tastes, so don't order unless you love meringue. The creme brûlée was a bit too sweet and not well brûléed as the crust was soggy and didn't "crack." The saving grace was the banana pan perdu which was a delight. The sides were all perfectly crisp while the inside was warm with great banana flavor, a great complement contrast to the vanilla ice cream. We were a bit disappointed that such a high class restaurant did not comp the birthday girl's dessert as most places do something for the occasion.

Yelp
I came here for restaurant week and overall, the restaurant was nice and the staff were super friendly. However, the food was just average. I ordered the following: Appetizer: Salmon Tartare (avocado, dill, smoked creme fraiche, potato chip) Entree: Risotto (prawn, corn, parmesan, black pepper) Dessert: Olive Oil Cake The salmon tartare was good (probably my favorite of all 3 dishes). The risotto tasted OK. My main issue is that I was so excited to see risotto on the menu that I did not see the word corn in the dish description. It was probably my mistake to order an Italian dish at a French restaurant, but who adds corn to risotto? Not only did they was there corn in the risotto, but there was A LOT of it, probably more corn than rice and shrimp combined. For dessert, I ordered the Olive Oil cake. The week before I tasted the best olive oil cake I've ever had, so I decided to see how theirs tasted. The olive oil cake was a bit of a disappointment and did not even compare. The cake was pretty dense, and a bit flavorless, compared to the one I had the week before. With so many great French restaurants in the city, I do not think I would come back.

Yelp
Bring France to New York as I am unable to travel to France. A French Bistro in New York summons dinner for one as life is too short but to make the most of this fabulous but fleeting time. This intimate French bistro reminisce of my past splendid visit to Paris, France. Steak Frites $38 10 oz. prime bavette, Pommes frites with Béarnaise sauce I am truly enamored of this French entree. This entree is very well prepared as it was cut in pieces in its authentic French form and cooked well without being dry. Burnt edges for the meat but it has no effect on the quality or taste as it was not dry. The Pommes frites were abundant overflowing the plate. The Béarnaise sauce provided was a nice light compliment paired with the meat. I was able to eat my fill. Château Cambon, Gamay (Brouilly, France 2016) $16 Suggested by my server for food pairing with my steak which is very light served chilled, medium body and smooth finish. I actually enjoyed this red wine. Vanilla Crème Brûlée $8 This dessert was too heavy and very thick vanilla cream which I did not enjoy. I was unable to finish the plate. The organic cane burnt sugar coating was average. Ambiance is intimate with dim lighting, light French background music conducive for conversation and good for couples to take dates. There is one long couch against the wall. I am enamored with the mirror walls and wall paneling. Outdoor seating is available with weather permitting, but I always prefer indoor to fully experience the atmosphere of a restaurant as I do not want to see vehicles passing the street blowing dirty wind in my food nor hear boisterously loud vehicles' horns blaring. My server Neysen is attentive, efficient and professional with a smile as she was not dismissive nor pushy nor ushering me to quickly finish my meal. Prior to my meal I received a complimentary warm pastry puff as a small appetizer which was enticing. Business cards and post cards are available for grabs. Bistro Leo is accessible by C local train at Spring Street station. Nota Bene: This business is dba "Sessanta" which appears on your bank's credit or debit card statement.

Yelp
Just under flavor. That's the best way to describe how their food tastes. Everything was close to having flavor...but lacked. Escargot? Hardly buttery...hardly garlicy...needed salt...needed more flavor. Their steak frites? Parmesan fries? No...just regular with a sprinkle of parm...call them essence of the smell of diet parmesan. The salmon was ok. They had an odd, sweet sauce that felt like it was meant for something else, but I was starving and I ate it all. At one point we were the only ones in the outdoor patio and the music was blasting so loud. Whoever the DJ was had a playlist that was all over the place haha. Also, our server kept forgetting what we ordered and came back multiple times to ask what we ordered. He must have forgotten about us because we did not see him for a good 20 minutes and I had to go in to get the check. I was out with some market directors and I wanted to pay for the meal without them knowing, and after I had paid for the meal, I guess one of them had asked about the check. Our waiter went to get the check...and I'm assuming he saw that it was paid for so he did not come back out to let her know? I guess he assumed I would say something...and had I known she asked for it, I would've mentioned it. We were sitting there for another 15 minutes before she commented on how long it was taking for the check and at that point I mentioned that I had paid for it. She commented how strange it was that our waiter had gone in and not said anything... Homeboy was on one...for such a "fancy" place...the service was not up to par. Food eh. Service meh. Overall...not worth the money.

Yelp
While I have never written a review, after walking into Bistrot Leo randomly, I've changed my mind. To keep it short and simple, the best part of the meal was the Viva La Vie cocktail. Between the lackluster service and the Bronzino that my girlfriend could barely touch I don't know how to explain my disappointment. The saving grace was the cocktail and the $4 warm French baguette. The Bronzino might have been bad or old, not sure. All I know is that it had a strong fish odor and tasted rancid. For a Tuesday night meal that ran us a bill of $80/person along with a covid-19 recovery charge, major disappointment.

Yelp
I noticed Bistrot Leo while I was getting Cronuts around the corner. Checking on the NYC restaurant week menu, Bistrot Leo is a participant so I made a reservation. I am craving Steak Frites! Then my wife calls and asked me to change the date, not knowing it pushed me out of NYC restaurant week. which means no Steak Frites for me. Sad face. Not to worry, we had an incredible brunch that I can't wait to tell y'all! Walking in, Bistrot Leo is a cute as hell French Bistro. There is French music playing, there are French wines being poured and there's French food being prepared. Oooh la la! Our waiter? Towards the end of our meal, He put us on the low priority list which pisses me off. The food kept the fifth Yelp star. My wife & I sit down after coming out of the cold. We ordered two hot coffees. After looking at the brunch menu, we both know what we want. My wife ordered an omelet & I ordered the Croque Monsieur. Once we warmed up, now I want to experience Bistrot Leo. We ordered some outrageous French wines and a Charcuterie plate. The Charcuterie plate? Wow! They had a chicken liver pate with organic butter that was so decadent, I would have been happy with just this item. The Jamon ham and grain mustard was wonderful with the crusty baguette. My Croque Monsieur and side salad was perfect, a classic French meal. My wife's meal? The eggs whites were fluffy and creamy from the cheese, this was a cheff'd up dish that had my wife swooning. The potatoes were another masterpiece. Creamy in the middle and textured and crunchy on the exterior, the total dish was heavenly. While my wife and I are enjoying our meal, our waiter is MIA. The restaurant is empty and I see him up front. I nod him over and ask him for coffee refills, more cream and more bread for the charcuterie. He takes our plates and silverware, he says he'll bring back clean items. He never comes back and I took everything we needed from the next table. I nod for check and we said our goodbyes. Au revoir Bistrot Leo. I will be back for French Restaurant week, I want to try the Steak Frites! If you're looking for a nice French bistro that's fun and has great yummy comfort entrees? Bistrot Leo is an excellent choice.

Yelp
I found this hidden gem in SoHo on another food app, and I am SO glad I did! This might be one of my new favorite restaurants in the city. Atmosphere is very romantic (perfect for a date) yet modern and refined. We were greeted by the most gracious host, who really went out of her way to be so welcoming and wonderful. Our waitress Neysen was also spectacular- so kind and had the perfect balance of checking in often enough but not overwhelming us. We were combing through the wine list, and she kindly poured each of us multiple tasting portions before we decided on a bottle from the cellar. For the food- WOW! We started with the ricotta, warm baguettes, and escargot. All were incredible and, combined, served 3-4 people comfortably. They also brought us complimentary bread (we didn't realize before we ordered the baguettes), which was out of this world. I'm not sure what they were called, but there were 6 balls of bread stuffed with some sort of cheese; the whole thing melted in your mouth, and we gobbled them all! In total, there were 5 of us who dined, and we ordered 2 Caesar salads to start. The picture is deceiving, but these salads are BIG. We probably would have been fine with one for the table to split. Overall pretty good- I liked the eggs that came with it, but honestly I'm not huge into kale. So maybe if you are you would love it- the rest of the table did. Dressing is very very light though for a Caesar, so we ordered extra. For mains, 3 of us got the steak frites, one got chicken, and one got the branzino. Portions are massive! I will say that I was slightly disappointed with the steak frites because they were SO fatty. I think half of the portion was just pure fat. The meat was delicious though. I didn't try the chicken or branzino, but they said it was very good. Overall, what a spot! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars out of 5 is that the main dishes were a little underwhelming from what I was expecting, but the apps & salad were amazing. The service and ambiance were impeccable and romantic, whether it's a date spot or a dinner with friends. Despite being in a hotel, it's a hidden gem where locals flock. It has all the perks of a "sceney" restaurant without all the hassle. 10/10 will be back!

Yelp
This pop up of Osteria Delle Tre Panche is a repeat performance in New York City. The Osteria was in New York at the now defunct Chef's Club and made a profound impression on the foodie population of the Big Apple. The scene at Bistrot Leo in the 60 Thompson hotel was rousing on the Saturday night we dined, with great energy, but quiet enough for conversation. We chose to sit at the bar, and Fausto immediately made us feel welcome and appreciated. He also explained how the pop up works: Chefs and managers from the Osteria Delle Tre Panche, a renown restaurant from Florence located on top of the Hotel Hermitage, fly to NYC and train the Bistrot Leo staff. The Osteria, on Friday, March 4th, took the Bistrot over for a month, and transformed it into a New York version of this Firenze iconic restaurant. Delle Tre Panche is known for their truffle menus and cheesecake, and while the cheesecake was fine, the truffle dishes were sublime. TORTELLI DI PECORINO DI FOSSA AL TARTUFO, raviolis in a parmigiana truffle cream sauce, combined the earthiness of truffles with a subtle lightness. DELICIOUS! The COTOLETTA ALLA MILANESE CON PECORINO E TARTUFO veal milanese with melted pecorino slivers and fresh truffle, was out of this world. I wanted more, although it was a sizable serving. . Our other dish, TAGLIATA AL TARFUFO, sliced strip steak with fresh truffle, was flavorful and tender, with the truffles making the steak anything but ordinary. We ended our meal with that famous cheesecake. It was a memorable dining experience enhanced by our server/bartender Dr. Fausto, who has the charm of George Clooney and the worldliness of Éric Ripert. With several cocktails and two glasses of wine, the bill came to around $350 with tip. A bargain for such exemplary food and such a great time. Do not miss this pop up experience at Bistrot Leo.

Yelp
Super cute and romantic restaurant. Discovered this during restaurant week. We tried the entire menu! If you want to do the same come with a group of 5 and get to it! Everything was good! cheese puffs starter - this was a surprise complimentary dish which is always a nice start to a meal. liver pate - very good and I don't usually like pate! stuffed squid - good - but sounded better than it was salmon - very good bouillabaisse - very good coq au vin - delicious lamb - very good brulee- oh yes! chocolate - love that chocolate and not to sweet

Yelp
Went for the Osteria delle tre panche pop up and would not recommend. Terrible service. Had a 9:00 reservation, didn't get seated until 9:40. Didn't get water until 10:00. Brought the appetizer before we got our wine. Appetizer was feeezing cold. Pastas and veal were tasty but you could tell they are all pre-made and heated up. Also served with the exact same truffle sauce. They're just trying to get as many people in and out as possible while charging carbone prices. Would be surprised if there are repeat costumers. Don't waste your time unless you want a good insta pic or absolutely love truffle

Yelp
We were staying at Sixty SoHo, the hotel above this restaurant and stopped in for drinks and an appetizer. We decided to give the escargot a try since it was something that I have never had. Glad we tried it, because it was delicious. The warm bread that came with it was also really good. The sauce that came with the escargot was very butter garlic heaven! The rest of the menu looked really tasty as well. Unfortunately we didn't have enough meals to eat a full one here. Maybe next time!

Yelp
Romantic, dim-lit restaurant with delectable drinks & food. Service was a bit slow but nothing unforgivable. Portions are on the smaller side but well executed. Tables are positioned in a way you can easily hear the conversations taking place in the table next to you but not packed so tightly together you have to ask your neighbors to move when you're getting up/returning from the table. Worthy spot for date night in NYC.

Yelp
Waited 45 minuted to be seated even though we had a reservation and were there on time, there were ~10 other parties in the same situation. The restaurant manager told one of them "what do you expect? It's New York". We were then seated at a table for two with an extra chair even though we made a reservation for three, they then moved us to a table for three after we voiced our disappointment. Even though we heard great things about the food at the original place in Italy that popped up here for March, the food was terrible. I guess this place can't even execute simple recipes. The ravioli had the thickest wrap we ever experienced, more wrap than filling, I had $3 raviolis from the frozen food isle that were much better than this. The taste to price ratio did not make any sense. I understand why Bistrot Leo has such poor ratings, and this pop up initiative, while cool, did not change anything. This place just can't execute.

Yelp
John McDonald's Italian spot Sessanta has now changed to Bistrot Leo, serving a great menu of classic French fare. The decor doesn't seem to have changed much, which is a good thing because it's a beautiful restaurant. Definitely start with the Potato Mille Feuille ($13), three pieces of really delicious crispy, buttery layered potatoes. The pommes frites are also perfect, which makes the Steak Frites ($38) an excellent option for an entree. The Atlantic Wild Cod ($32) was another great choice for something lighter. For dessert, get the Banana Pan Perdu ($12). I'd definitely come back to try the giant rib for two since my wife didn't want it tonight.

Yelp
The service was a huge downfall overall before we even arrived. A girl over the phone mentioned they will be serving their full menu instead of the limited menu on their site. I asked this as we were looking forward to more options from their regular menu. We arrive and they act clueless about serving their regular menu. As we order appetizers, my wife and I discuss the Caesar salad option in front of the waiter if to add chicken or salmon. We tell the waiter salmon. Salad arrives and no salmon. We tell the waiter and instead ordered us the salmon entree and not the salmon in addition to the salad. Why would my wife and I order 3 entrees on top of the appetizers??? The bone marrow was well seasoned and tasty. One of the best I've had. Just wished it was served as a pair. Steak to the steak frites was a delicious, tasty thick cut. The duck confit was cooked perfectly paired with a deep, rich sauce that was amazingly good. The frites are not worth mentioning unfortunately. Time to go home and I request for extra sauce for the duck to go. The waitress (most likely the one who told me over the phone about the full menu) tells me they have to charge me for extra sauce to go!!??! Are you kidding me?! I've been to over 300 restaurants in NYC and no one has ever told me to pay for extra sauce to go especially after a $200 bill. What a freaking joke! You won't last in this restaurant industry with that kind of service.

Yelp
Quaint little hidden spot with great ambiance. Nice place to grab a quick bite or go on a date. The mussels were delicious and the portion size is easily enough for 2-4ppl to share.

Yelp
I was a bit hesitant to go to this place after reading some of the reviews but glad I did. I went there with three of my friends on Christmas Day. The cocktails were strong and good. The food was delicious. The place itself was well decorated and had good ambiance. The only thing is they served a cocktail for one of my friends in a broken glass.

Yelp
The good: The interior is nice, cozy and well-heated and there was noone sitting inside. The bathroom is nice. The waiter staff was polite although not overly attentive (had to ask to refill the water). The portions were good size. The bad: food, prices and a long wait for food. The prices are high, yet the food is disappointing. The French fries were really overcooked and were completely hard. The onion soup and grilled chicken in the pasta were also overcooked while the vegetables that came with the bronzino were undercooked. Everything had too much salt in it. The bronzino and pasta were ok. The bronzino was a very basic recipe and was just ok. They did replace the French fries when I pointed out they were extremely overcooked, and the replacement was cooked to a proper degree although still had way too much salt. Considering that a large portion of fries is $14, I would expect them to be better than that.

Yelp
Came here for a friend's birthday party. Most of the party was really late and they definitely check in on you here but when people finally arrived, we were taken care of. My friend, who was celebrating her birthday, felt like we were being rushed a bit but they were about to close and she'd been late so she felt it wasn't their fault. The food is not cheap but I had a burger and fries here that were both very filling and tasted wonderfully. We also had a great dinner with intimate and thought provoking conversation in a small group. My friend definitely knows how to pick first class venues from my own experiences hanging out with her and this proved to be no exception. It's out of my budget but I feel like this is definitely one of those venues where you get what you paid for. If you're trying to impress, you can't go wrong with this restaurant.

Yelp
Went for restaurant week. Services were great. Loved our waiter but the food was very very very mid. I love French onion soups and theirs were a little bland. Salmon and steak was average. The brazino was probably the best main because of its crispness. Also ordered the mussels, escargot and oysters for apps and the mussels were the best thing on the table. The banana bread and creme brulee for dessert was also average. Though the banana bread has a nice crisp on the outside

Yelp
Came here for the Bistrot Leo Presents Osteria delle Tre Panche event in March 2022. This was a takeover by an Italian restaurant and black truffles were heavily represented on the menu. The truffles were delicious but the dishes were a little plain and presented hastily (which, given the high price, was incongruous). The Bistrot itself is a hotel restaurant that is very large and very loud. I would only recommend this if you are in a lively / party mood. I must say desserts were absolutely delicious. Best cheesecake ever (note that it is warm) and top notch chocolate fondant served with crème anglaise.

Yelp
Looks nice, terrible food, badly mixed cocktail and non fresh food. Still cannot believe I did pay the check having in mind this was by far the worst experience, the waiter brought the food and when finally came back he was chomping. Absolutely mind blowing that this place exists and that was actually recommended.

Yelp
Doesn't get any better. Jesse Freijo as head chef is amazing, the staff is super friendly, and you will leave full and highly satisfied. Beautiful venue in the heart of Soho. Highly recommend. Picture: Tonight I had the surf and turf with peppercorn sauce. Delicious.

Yelp
Very good food AND vibe. The chef even agrees to make an amazing steak tartare that was not in the menu! This is coming from a fairly picky guy who had his share of michellin rated french and non-french restaurants. Scotch a little on the pricy side- but these guys (waiter and chef) earned every penny. One of the very few instances where I dont get the lower-than-5 star reviews. Perhaps there was a recent change for the better?

Yelp
Came for the Italian truffle pop up and it was pretty underwhelming for the price we paid. A few ladies ordered drinks and seemed to enjoy them. Another girl ordered bread that wasn't warm and looked hard. I ordered the Pollo Al Tartufo and while the truffle flavor was there that was the only flavor I could taste. The chicken was bland and I had to salt and pepper it to death for it to be enjoyable. Glad I had something to eat before because I would've still been hungry afterwards. Service was good and the restaurant itself is cute. Too bad I won't know how their normal menu is but they need to avoid doing this menu again.

Yelp
Love the cute French bistro atmosphere at Bistrot Leo! We only had breakfast and the simple 2 egg with toast set so cant judge how delicious their stuff is but from just the two eggs with bacon/toast it didn't dissappoint. Service was great! The waitress gave my daughter crayons and paper to keep her busy.

Yelp
TLDR: Great for unique cocktails and appetizers! Overall rating: A+ Came here tonight for a quick drink before a show at HERE Theater nearby. It's truly excellent and I'm already looking forward to coming back. We got the last of the fall/winter cocktails menu. Fausto, the head mixologist here, was really great! You can tell he's really passionate about creating the perfect unique and delicious drinks. He was friendly and chatted about cocktails with us for a while. I was impressed with the dozen bitters they had! -JEAN JUSTE PISCO SOUR (pisco, lime, fig syrup, banyuls, anisette, egg white, garnished with a lavender sprig) $17: This was one of the best pisco sours I've had! It was made with real egg whites! It tasted of berries. It was complex and not sweet. I LOVED it! It was $17 but worth it. Looking forward to trying the strawberry based version (starting this week). A++ -FALL LEAVES (scotch, bumbu, drambuie, date syrup, green chartreuse, peychauds bitters) $17: My friend's cocktail was oddly too sweet. Great if you like to taste the alcohol in your drinks. I prefer to not taste my alcohol. B- -WARM BAGUETTE (grass fed herbed butter, sea salt) $4: They make great mini baguettes here. I appreciated the herbed butter was soft and spreadable. A++ Can't wait to return for the seasonally changing cocktail menus! Also love their charcuterie platter but I wasn't super hungry. The entrees were ok, but not mind blowing from my previous visit. I'll just stick to snacks and drinks here!

Yelp
Wonderful place and fantastic service. The mussels were the best I've ever had (and I've been to France). The baguette and butter was delicious. Service and waiter in particular was unforgettable. Will be back next week if time allows.

Yelp
It's taken me years to find a great replacement for the bearnaise sauce king at Les Halles (a block from my apartment for nearly 10 years until they closed). I've only ordered out from Bistrot Leo but have been so impressed by their delivery. Steak is super flavorful, burger is complex and juicy, duck is rendered perfectly (although doesn't travel well - steams itself on the way so it's not med rare). They always give me an extra cup of bearnaise sauce at my request, even when I order non-steak items. They deserve 7 stars for that - hospitality at its finest. They probably have no idea how much it means to me, nostalgically. Thanks, Bistrot Leo :)

Yelp
I came here for the Sunday lunch during restaurant week. I do appreciate how they offer restaurant week on Sunday as many other places do not. I had mussels as the appetizer and they were great. They were in a creamy but light buttery sauce and the portion was generous. For the entree, I had the steak frites. Honestly, the steak was not as huge of a portion size as I had seen on yelp or it definitely looked better in the pictures, yet once I started eating it I was pleasantly surprised by how filling it was. The fries were perfect. I liked the béarnaise sauce (sort of tasted like hollandaise) that came with it as well. As a dessert, (not included for lunch's restaurant week), we tried the prickly pear sorbet and the crême brûlée. The crême brûlée was some well except I was a little disappointed there were no fruits on top. The prickly pear sorbet was very rich in flavor. I recommend it for a sweet yet tangy choice. Overall, I think the food was 4 stars but the service was amazing (definitely five stars) and I just loved the ambiance. We were seated on comfortable couches, the mirrors, and blue/green textured wallpaper, made it a charming atmosphere. We stayed and relaxed as we ate our meal for 3 from 12 noon until 3 pm.

Yelp
Bistros Leo is very French and very fine dining with serious chef cred. I've been twice for restaurant week. First time with girlfriends was a mixed bag, second time it was perfection. Lovely interior and French tunes take you far away, and of course the food... Ate: Crevette Branzino Lemon tarte Cabernet franc Oddly I had the crevette and Branzino twice. the raw crevette with horseradish and avocado mouse is simplicity defined. The Branzino on the second visit was perfected with eggplant mousse and perfectly seared eggplant and perfectly seared Branzino and the poured veggie pesto. The lemon tart was also super delish. If its not restaurant week, have some deep pockets and be transported to France.

Yelp
Valentine's Day: Reservations at 8, seated quickly regardless of the large amount of people waiting. Appetizers were great. Onion soup was delicious, crispy chicken w/ honey dressing was tasty. Took FOREVER for us to get our main dishes. I'm fully convinced they gave it to the table near us. The runner was clearly a little confused. We literally waited an hour to get our entrees. It's 9:47pm as I'm typing this and we were seated at 8:15. Waitress came over and offered us dessert on the house for the wait, which was respectable. Of course the one we wanted (the mousse) was sold out. We are still waiting.... at 10:23pm, and got 2 glasses of Pinot noir on the house. Literally she offered us free dessert before we even got the entree. Entrees finally came out (steak frites and salmon with pesto), very average. The steak was good. Everything else was bland. Pesto is not the typical pesto you are probably expecting. I should have taken a photo lol They require a "COVID recovery charge", which is 10% of the bill. I'm feeling iffy about this place. Unfortunate that this was my experience. I was more frustrated seeing 3 tables get seated after us and leave well before us. I've never waited this long at a restaurant, ever. Was almost expecting them to comp more than just the wine and dessert.... We won't be back.

Yelp
Came here during French restaurant week and I'm impressed! The medjool dates was beyond my expectations, I would definitely come back for this dish. The branzino was mediocre. Dessert was good though. This place has a very nice outdoor seating area. Definitely check that out!

Yelp
Get the duck ! Medium or med rare temp - you will not be sorry. That's pretty much all I have to say.
