Sonoma Winery Blanchard Family Wines Starts Pouring on Denver’s Dairy Block - Eater Denver

"A 10-year-old Sonoma County winery this week opens its first tasting room outside of California on Denver’s Dairy Block. Blanchard Family Wines, based in Healdsburg and sourcing from vineyards across Sonoma, is bringing eight varietals to Denver to start. The business will also bottle and keg here for the Denver market. Owners Mark and James Blanchard and winemaker Jene Chapanar hope that Denver’s restaurant, brewing, and distilling industries will support a diverse and growing wine culture as well." - Josie Sexton

RES RES

Google
We stopped in because we saw the ‘complimentary wine tasting’ sign in the alley out front and the atmosphere seemed very welcoming. Service started out very luke warm but ended up friendlier as our visit progressed. We were never offered any complimentary tastings. We had a few glasses of wine. Some other visitors came in and asked about the complimentary tasting and were told you could taste something if you purchased something. Pretty terrible advertising trick. We enjoyed the differed glasses we purchased.

One of the best stops on our first Denver trip! Owners were there and fabulous! We love their wine and consider ourselves complete wine enthusiasts and can’t wait to bring the family back here! Perfect spot for a mid afternoon flight or glass of wine!!! Would give them 10 stars if able!!! Shanna served us and was amazing!!

Google
We used this space for an event and it was incredible. They were helpful, accommodating, and the perfect location for our 60 person networking function. The wine and charcuterie boards were delicious, and they even had a small AV setup that they included for us.

We had a great time here at BFW, doing a little wine testing with the family. It was so much fun. Our server/ bartender (dang it, I can't remember his name!) was very knowledgeable and really made our experience very enjoyable, so thanks for what it's worth! Of course, the wines were yummy, most anyway. Everyone has different tastes. We've been through the Milk Market a handful of times, and we always forgot to stop in. Now we'll remember!

Great wine and great atmosphere. Limited menu options but the food was good and overall nice time to escape the weather and wait out the rain.

We stopped in to Blanchard Family Winery hoping to try some Colorado wines and were lucky to have Steve as our host. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all of our (many!) questions. We own a vineyard and winery in Oregon, so we were curious to see what style of wine Colorado grew and produced, we really enjoyed the curated flights that Steve selected for us! They gave us a great overview of the region’s styles and varietals and really gave us an enjoyable and relaxed tasting which is just what we were in the mood for. A great visit all around!

We recently hosted my sister's bridal shower at Blanchard Family Wines, and it was absolutely perfect! The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was flawless. They were attentive, friendly, and incredibly accommodating to all our requests. The wine, of course, was exceptional. The event space in the barrel room was just the right size, offering an intimate yet spacious atmosphere, and is great for photos. My sister was thrilled, and all our guests couldn’t stop raving about what a wonderful time they had. Highly recommend Blanchard for any special event – it’s a hidden gem!

This place is AMAZING! The wine is spectacular, the atmosphere is comfortable and the staff is incredible. I could not be more pleased with the experience that we had here. I will definitely be bringing my friends and family here in the near future.

Yelp
What a great find, look for the dairy block. Lovely Open seating and great wine. We visited the bakery kitty corner and had a wonderful croissant w Ham that we brought along. In fact they gave us 10% off Try the popcorn ( OMG ) The rosé was a perfect compliment to our snacks.

Yelp
I was awaiting this owner's response because after I visited here, had a bad experience, and looked up the Yelp - he comes across unhinged and combative. I wrote my original review months after I was there - I was there in November. Go scroll through all your tapes because based on your responses to to reviews on here, I know that's what you do. The other two women at the bar were not on their phones or laptops and what an insane thing to say that people that go to wineries don't want to be bothered? Bro, what?? The woman who was serving me was young and there was absolutely no chance she was anybody's grandmother. I specifically asked her about the wines and she literally said to me "I do not know anything about them." If you read my original review you would see that I already said that. I love wine. I love wineries. I love supporting local wineries and all that jazz. I had a negative experience at this one and I thought I was being constructive and providing you feedback. I will absolutely not ever come back here.

Yelp
Nice urban winery at the Dairy Block! Their wines are tasty and we always have a good time there. The service is always good and the vibe is low key and welcoming. Definitely a great spot!

Yelp
Hands down a a great place to try a variety of wines. Alli was amazing with providing guidance on what to sample. We went with the red wine flight, and my personal favorite was the Pinot Noir. I loved the vibe and location of this winery.
google avatar

Gretchen R.

Yelp
We had a great experience here on a Saturday afternoon. Not too crowded (winter) and were able to find street parking. We enjoyed red wine flights and purchased their CA Zinfandel and a CO Cab franc by Plum Creek. The owner was very sweet and chatted with us providing lots of info on their wine and the CO wine industry. Charcuterie board has a large variety of items which we enjoyed and was a good lunch for 2. The Dairy Block is a really cute area too

Yelp
I think what I love most about this winery is how they have embraced local Colorado products to make wine, while at the same time bringing their vast catalog of wines from their California roots. It's a beautiful blend, highlighting the fact that good wine is good wine, no matter where it comes from. I got to experience this blend in a wonderful flight: * Rosé of Grenache~Russian River Valley, CA A lovely chardonnay made in CO. Petite Pearl~Grand Valley, CO Zinfandel~Dry Creek Valley, CA * Located in the @dairyblock , they have a great patio as well as a cozy tasting room. And the staff knows their wine, which makes the experience that much better.

Yelp
I did the wine flight and really enjoyed it. It was such a cute little spot when I was visiting Denver and just needed a spot to relax. It was relatively quiet at the time I went so plenty of seating. I could easily see it being a good spot to meet up with some friends and enjoy a glass of wine. They were really friendly and made some helpful suggestions on which wines to get based on my preferences.

Yelp
It's patio season! We headed to Blanchard Family Wines' patio in Dairy Block for some wine tasting this past weekend & had a lovely time. We arrived at Blanchard and were seated at a table outside. The weather was gorgeous and we got to enjoy the spring flowers & Dairy Block's lively alleyway. Founders, James & Shanna took great care of us & ensured our wine flights kept coming. James was incredibly knowledgeable on the wine and educated us on each kind we had. Our server Cassidy was attentive and made sure our waters stayed topped off. Our wine flight included the Blanc de Noir, Riesling, CO Red Blend, & the Cabernet Sauvignon. The Blanc de Noir was Blanchard Family Wines from Sonoma County. This was a traditional method sparkling constructed from Pinot Noir. The Blanc de Noir was lively on the tongue with flavors of in-season, zesty citrus. The Riesling was Blanchard Family Wines from Colorado. I am not a big Riesling fan and enjoyed this one - it wasn't too sweet. The Riesling was medium-dry with a balanced acidity. The CO Red Blend was Blanchard Family Wines from Grand Valley. This red blend had alluring aromas of raspberry. This was my second favorite wine of the flight and is a new addition to Blanchard's menu (make sure to try it out). The Cabernet Sauvignon was Blanchard Family Wines from Alexander Valley - this was my favorite. The Cab Sauv had a beautiful purplish red garnet in the glass. The taste was big and bold with a smooth finish. Ross enjoyed non-alcoholic tea that was really refreshing. For food we had Charcuterie, a Macaron flight, & Cake Pop flight. The Charcuterie was a chef's board with daily selections of local meats, cheeses, crackers, and accoutrements. The Macarons were seasonal & custom created by Bella Macarons. My favorite was the Lucky Charms macaron. This green macaron was sweet with a cereal inspired filling and went well with the sparkling Blanc de Noir. The Cake Pops were from Azucar Bakery and were an assortment of seasonal flavors. My favorite was the red velvet cake pop. It was dipped in white chocolate and tasted like a combination of chocolate and vanilla cake (cocoa with a slightly tart edge). This cake pop paired exceptionally well with the Cabernet Sauvignon - rich & decadent. Now that's how to do a Sunday funday!

Yelp
Excellent diary block spot for drinks and snacks. Blanchard Family Wines has wide variety of wines and offers tastings or bottles. We loved that you can make your own flight or order a premade one. The pride flight was especially fun with the cotton candy and the macaroon! We sat in the patio where dogs are allowed and there was plenty of shade. The wait staff was prompt and helpful with explaining varieties. The charcuterie board was plentiful and they also had some other small plates to choose from. If you want a full meal, they have partnered with Foraged where you can order from. Whether you want wine and dessert or a more filling meal, we really enjoyed it.

Yelp
Blanchard family winery features wonderful wines. We had a tasting of both California and Colorado wines: Aubrey helped us decided on an appropriate flight - she was beyond helpful and personable. We had a wonderful time with the outdoor seating and beautiful alley decorations.

Yelp
Stopped in for an after dinner drink/tasting. It's a small place but cute decor and cozy inside. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. We tried a flight of the Blanchard family wines from CA and were sadly disappointed. From the whites to rosé to the reds, they all missed the mark in terms of flavor, body, and even appearance/color. Would sadly not return as it is a wine bar and we would have hoped to be more impressed with what we tried or have more options.

Yelp
My friend & I went to check out Blanchard Family Wines during a trip in Denver. It's located in the Dairy Block section in the city, pretty easy to find, the restaurant is a good size not too big, not too small. We sat at the bar and were helped by Nick & Jana who were amazing, personable & super helpful when trying to decide what to try on the menu. Nick gave us some good suggestions on portion size depending on how hungry we were and recommended the Kettle Head truffle pop which was 10/10! The lighting in the restaurant was awesome too, Jana by far was the best photographer during our entire trip to Denver that week. The cotton candy & wine flight pairing is genius. The watermelon cotton candy pairing was our favorite and the macarons were 10/10 as well. We would definitely return!

Yelp
If I decide to retire from my office job and do something completely different then this place will be the first in line for me to apply at! A group of friends got together tonight at this place for a wine and chocolate pairing event and had a wonderful night of two hours by sipping four different wines from Sauvignon Blanc to Rose to Pinot Noir to Cabernet Sauvignon and four different types of chocolates! I felt like I was in heaven!! The guy who guided us through the pairing event is/was a true wine expert. When he introduced himself to us he said he's been in the wine industry since he was 12 yrs old. What?? No wonder he is a wealth of knowledge! I've been an avid wine drinker for almost 20 years but my knowledge about wine (compared to his) is absolutely nothing. What's great about this place is that you'll get to enjoy quality wines in the center of downtown Denver; there is no need for you to travel all the way to some wine countries like Palisades or Napa Valley etc. On top of that, although this place doesn't really serve real food (only cheeses and meats), if you are hungry you can order from the Denver Milk Market right across from it so there is that symbiotic relationship that is common nowadays in many places throughout the metropolitan areas in any U.S. cities. This place is one of the best the city of Denver has to offer.

Yelp
This place has a nice variety of wines and a cute charcuterie platter. Came here on a date night and we tried 2 flights of wine (1-California wines and 1-Colorado wines) we also got a charcuterie platter and some macrons. If you are looking for something different to do for a date night or even just a little group night this is a fun winery to stop by.

Yelp
Went out for a girls nights and this was the perfect spot! The ambiance was chill and service was super nice. We each got a flight of wine where we were able to mix and match. They offer options for Colorado wine which was nice. We also decided to order a flight of their pop cakes and macaroons. Everything was delicious! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
This is my 1,000th review. wow, I can't believe it only took me a month and some days to finally write up all my places that we visited in the Denver area. We found this winery in the heart of Denver. You walk down one of the coolest alleys to get here. What was so unique was a wedding was getting ready to start. Everyone was seated in their chairs. It was a smaller wedding, maybe 25-30 people at most. But something really nice. We arrived at the winery. It was spacious. Really enjoyed the vibe. Many places to seat. We just had drinks. I had a glass of wine. All of the grapes either originate from California or in Denver area. We did t stay long but enjoyed the wine and a desert that my wife and daughter love called macaroons that were superb. This is a good winery to visit.

Yelp
Blanchard Family Winery is a well-known winery located in the Dairy Block of Denver. The winery is known for its exceptional wines and has become a popular destination for wine enthusiasts. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the winery and was excited to do some tasting. Upon arrival, my group and I were greeted by the host who welcomed us and showed us to our table. The ambiance of the winery was warm and inviting, and we were eager to start our tasting experience. However, after sitting for 10 minutes, we realized that we had not been taken care of by any of the staff members. Despite our attempts to flag down a server, we were ignored and left waiting. This lack of attention and service was disappointing, especially considering the reputation of the winery. After waiting for an extended period, we decided to get up and leave. Overall, my experience at Blanchard Family Winery was disappointing. While the winery is known for its exceptional wines, the lack of service and attention to customers was a letdown. As a customer, I expected to be taken care of and have a positive experience, but unfortunately, this was not the case. I hope that the winery takes steps to improve its customer service in the future, as it has the potential to be a top destination for wine enthusiasts. Update: yes owner contacted me and I provided detail of my visit with 2 other friends. We waiting as a friend used the restroom on 3/18 at about 3:30pm and left at just before 3:45 when I took this photo. I have time stamps in my photo documentary of my visit.

Yelp
This place was great and the employees are excited about the wines they represent. They took great care of us, recommended different wines based on our likes, and their selection was wonderful! I've been there 3 times in two weeks

Yelp
Think I threw the poor lady at the door off with my videography for my TikTok however, we push forward as this is my 40th birthday wine tasting and nothing was messing this up. Once the hubs figured out which seat was the "spot" we got comfortable and listened to the kind of confusing instructions. After the poor waitress clarified a couple more times our flight of wine was ordered and off we flew into wine tasting world. Paired with a delicious charcuterie board and some final desserts we were very happy and truly enjoyed the people watching. The benefit of people watching...a wedding unfolding before us. WINNING! What a great way to celebrate my bday

Yelp
So happy we stumbled into this little wine place in the Milk Market. The wine was exceptional and the service was on point! I highly recommend the Blanchard Cabernet it was amazing! Will totally come here next time I'm downtown!

Yelp
Came here on a snowy Saturday night a couple of weeks ago for the first time. We were visiting the area and this street and wine shop is so cute! We were so surprised to see it not that busy but were happy we had most of the place to ourselves. We got a popcorn wine pairing flight which was really good. They let us pick the wines we want and are very knowledgeable. The cocoa puff popcorn was the best. We also got a meat and cheese plate, the smaller one and that was plenty. Really good meat and cheese selection with plenty of crackers, olives and nuts. It was cool too that is we wanted we can order from the dairy market with all the food vendors down the block and that they would come over and serve us. I def want to come back to Denver just to come back here!
google avatar

Yelp
Milk Market is such a fun area to walk around in LoDo. So much fun art and shops/restaurants like Blanchard Family Wines. I enjoyed a flight out on the patio with a friend, it was the perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful day and made for some great people watching. The shop offered a fun mystery flight which my friend took part in and managed to guess them all right! She has quite the sommelier pallet so she loved the fun challenge of this offering. Try it for yourself next time you're in the area!

Yelp
***Updated to correct the technicalities mentioned in the owner's response*** What an adorable little tasting room!!! I officially had my first taste of Colorado wines here, and I can honestly say that I'm a fan. I've been to Blanchard's tasting room in Healdsburg and absolutely loved the wines and my experience there. When I found out that they had a sister tasting room in Denver, I knew that I had to pay them a visit during my trip. Best decision that I made! I stopped by here on a Wednesday evening and had an amazing time. Blanchard's tasting room is located in the festive Dairy Block in Denver. They have a cute and spacious outdoor patio that glows a pretty purple at night. Since it was chilly out, I decided to do my tasting inside. Honestly, I was kind of scared at first. I haven't been inside of a wine bar in months, and California is just now slowly starting to reopen for indoor dining. But after seeing how large, spacious, and clean the interior was, I was immediately put at ease. I sat at the bar top which I had to myself for most of the evening, and Alli and Shanna took really great care of me! The tasting room in Denver is much more casual compared to the one in Healdsburg. I love that they have TV's and other options like hard ciders for those who may not be feeling so wine-y. But of course, I came for the wine! I decided to make my own flight and chose two whites and two reds to taste (most were recommendations from Alli and Shanna): Gewürztraminer, Dry Riesling, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc. The Colorado wines are actually produced from Blanchard's partner wineries that are based in Colorado, but the Syrah is produced by Blanchard themselves. My general consensus of the Colorado wines were that they were good. I generally have to be in a mood for Riesling and I'm not much of a fan of dry wines, but I wanted to try out the crowd favorite. The Dry Riesling is one of the most popular wines here. Honestly, I wasn't much of a fan of this. However, I did enjoy the Gewürztraminer and I absolutely LOVED their Syrah! Damn, that Syrah was amazing. It was bold with a little spice and a wonderful smooth finish. I ended up getting a glass of this after my wine flight. Alli was also gracious enough to pour me a splash of the Colorado Chardonnay, and this was a real winner too. It was light, refreshing, and crisp with just a tad bit of oak that I actually found to be enjoyable (not really a fan of oak usually). It was super tasty! Since the tasting room is located in the Dairy Block, you can scan the menus from the restaurants nearby and they'll deliver your food right to your table in the tasting room! Like whaaaat? Such an amazing concept! Would love to see more of this in California. Ended up with a delicious deli sandwich from S&G Salumeria that paired perfectly with my yummy Syrah! A taste of any wine is $5, but let me tell you; these "tastes" are not your average wine pours. They are heavier and of course, I'm ALL for it! Even the glasses of wine are generous here. They also do a wine and chocolate pairing here. Didn't get a chance to do it this time around, but would love to take advantage of this the next time that I'm in town. The hours are great here! They're open pretty late. And the SERVICE is just top notch! Alli is such a doll! Had an amazing time chatting with her about the wines and her travels. Also had a lovely time chatting with Shanna who I learned was a fellow foodie (and you know how much I LOVE food... mm hmm!). They were running a 20% off purchase deal with Yelp check-in and they gladly honored this. I know that times are tough during COVID and they could have easily denied the check-in offer, but I appreciated that they did. Even without this, I still had an amazing time, but it's always nice to enjoy the little perks of Yelp. Honestly, this was the most fun that I had while visiting Denver! Love the atmosphere, wine, and incredible service here and I'm glad that I stopped by. Would highly recommend them for a wonderful time and I'm excited to return again on a future trip back to Denver!

Yelp
I discovered this winery by accident. My friends and I had planned a trip to Colorado wine country but we had to cancel because of bad weather. There were 4 of us who visited the winery. There is a wide selection of whites and reds, Colorado and California grapes. The tasting room is cute and cozy, located in the LoDo area of Denver. We had a great time, we will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Easily one of my favorite places to take visitors in the city. It's a great little spot located in the Dairy Block with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The employees have always been incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the Blanchard and Colorado wines. Highly recommend starting with any of the wine flights - the pours are sizable and from there it's easier to narrow down if you want a glass or to purchase a bottle to take home. For food they have a limited menu of snacky items, but you can also order from nearby restaurants and get it delivered to your table! All in all a fabulous spot to meet friends, take guests, or just enjoy a book or some people watching on your own.

Yelp
I threw a surprise party for my wife at Blanchard Family Wines and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. I worked with James the Owner and Cassidy the Event Manager. They answered all my questions in a timely manner and helped ensure I had peace of mind as the day approached. Not to mention, the wine was delicious! I truly can't recommend it here enough, whether you are looking to rent out a venue for a party or just have a couple drinks while exploring downtown. Thank you Blanchard Family Wines!

Yelp
Amazing time had by all at this winery. Their wines were great and the service was great! They had a great music and we even ordered a charcuterie board from next door that was good as well. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Cute location in dairy block. Easy to get a table on Saturday afternoon. Service was not the best. No explanation on what was in the bubbly wine flight. Also no explanation on the charcuterie board. I think our server left and there was no communication regarding who would take over the table so no one checked in one us. Also watched waitress spill red wine on another customer. She cleaned the tables but left the rag on the ground.

Devina O.

Yelp
Came to this place for first time to show my mom around. I went in with my two children, and it was clear that they were not welcome from the beginning as we were getting ugly looks. My mom was trying to order and the waiter kept looking at my child because he was playing on their couch. Anyway, the waiter took it upon himself to correct my child instead of consulting me about my son playing on the couch. We decided to leave as that was inappropriate. Just an FYI to parents looking into visiting this place, it's not "family friendly".

Yelp
Wine flights were fun & a good deal. We sampled 8 wines, bought 4 bottles. Our server was very helpful & informative. Such a cute place. Loved it.

Yelp
Excellent california and Colorado wines! Great flights and snacks I've gone wine tasting in napa many a time and this outdoor seating compares to the whole experience! Great lighting and great vibes. Aubrey was a great host.

Yelp
Okay so this was the cutest, coziest place. First time doing a wine tasting. I was kinda expecting a fancier vibe, but it was really chill and the atmosphere was great. It's located in a cute little alley (hence my included portrait lol). I liked that we were all able to sit at the same table. The owner was super sweet and answered all of our questions. I can't remember if this the name of the flight I tried, but I asked for a sweet flight. They don't have entrees BUT they have a great partnership with the Milk Market (I'll do separate review). We did enjoy a charcuterie board that was divine. I also ordered a lemon custard cheesecake. Great price and soooo rich. Such a great experience. Great hangout spot with your girls or your boo!
google avatar

Brena E.

Yelp
A friend and I decided to have dinner in the alley at the Dairy Block and order from the Milk Market. However, was disappointed when we found out that you can't order alcohol at those tables and have to go in and purchase that separately. While wandering around for another alternative, we found Blanchard which serves the wine and lets you order food from other places. We sat outside and they do have heaters. We ordered the Blanchard red tasters and a small charcuterie board. When our food hadn't arrived from the Milk Market after an hour, our server went in to check on it which was very much appreciated and not necessary since it wasn't through them. Since we had to wait for our food, we ended up ordering a bottle of wine since the tasters were long gone. Very good experience.

Yelp
Feeling in a funk and need to get off of your ass? The Blanchard staff here has got spunk and class Didn't matter what category I brand as societal Erica will recommend a kick ass varietal Good vibes and a groove with flush your cheeks red "You made me very happy tonight", that's what my date said

Yelp
I've lived in Denver a long time and only happened to find this place with the help of someone who knew it was there. It's in this awesome little spot called the Milk Market. Beautiful hidden away place that even a lot of locals don't know exist. Check this place out with a little snow or rain, so gorgeous. The Winery is a cozy place with plenty of room for friends and family. If you don't know anything about wine or what you want (like me,) the staff will help you zero in on something you'll like and educate you about the wine process and proper terminology, which is something I love. I had a Gruner wine that was delicious and refreshing. The staff are amazing, the men charming and the women beautiful. I'll be back for a date night or to meet up with old friends.

Yelp
Wandering around downtown, looking for a place to sit outside (with a heat lamp) and have a glass of wine... I had almost forgotten about Blanchard, so very good thing it showed up in a Yelp search. Because they also serve food (another thing I had forgotten!), they are allowed to be open during COVID, for 25% capacity inside and for outside seating. There are heat lamps galore inside the alleyway, so even on a January afternoon, it's not too cold or uncomfortable. If you like bubbles, try the Sauvage Spectrum (sparklet). I enjoyed the glass I drank so much, I bought a bottle to take home. Blanchard, you are now on my go-to list for the few times I actually leave the house and spend time with friends.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
I had so much fun last night, I completely forgot to take pictures of our snacks and wine! We had such a great time at Blanchard. My 2 friends and I each did a wine flight which you can pick a flight of just whites, just red, etc. Since I decided to do the cake pop pairing, my wines were decided for me! I received 4 cake pops and 4 small glasses of wine. It was literally heaven on a plate. The cake pops paired wonderfully. We also ordered the medium charcuterie board for 3 of us. I think it was enough, but I would not have minded ordering up for that. All in all, great experience and I can't wait to go back in the summer and sit on the patio! Also, when you check in through yelp, you receive 20%. I forgot to use my coupon but I love the option!

My wife and I were there today for restaurant week, which should be a way for the restaurant to impress patrons and convince them to come back. It was not our impression that they were trying to get us to come back. While the wine flight was good and the portions were generous, we felt the cheese plate was simply ridiculous. For two persons, we only had a slice of bread each, a drop of yellow mustard, a drop of jam a few pieces of cold cuts and cheese. We would have been happy to pay more and have a few more slices of bread. Dessert was good, however we were disappointed that out of three choices one was not available. Btw we were there at 4PM, it seems strange to run out of something that early. During our meal we were also completely ignored, all the other tables were being served and it took us more than 30 minutes to waive a waiter for attention. When we got back home, we realized from pictures on yelp that the cheese plates people usually get are more substantial than what we got. Are they being stingy because it is restaurant week? Our first and last time at Blanchards.

Yelp
Such a nice phenomenal winery! Fantastic wine, wonderful people, in a killer location in the Dairy Block! We loved the Dairy Block Blend tonight, sitting outside on the patio with beats in the background while sitting by heaters. Amazing experience!!

Yelp
Unfortunately I had to change my five star review to a one star review and honestly wish I could give this location zero stars. One day I came in with my mother from out of town and it was rather windy outside. I had my dog with me so I wanted to peek inside to see what the dog arrangements were or where they were dog friendly... Upon walking inside I saw a dog sitting at the bar with its owner and decided to continue in the building. That's when I was stopped by a staff member and told that my dog was not allowed inside and that the other dog could stay inside because it was smaller. I'm not sure why a smaller dog would be able to stay inside but not a puppy who is also a small... they are both DOGS. Health department would doc you the same amount of points for having a large OR small dog inside when you SERVE FOOD. Unfortunately, the story gets worse, we went outside and waited for service for over 20 minutes before one of the brothers came out to serve us. The wine was not hitting the spot and we were not checked on even once. I went inside to ask for the bill and told the brother that we were unhappy only to be argued with and yelled at by him in front of his other patrons The person I was with also wrote a review and was told by James that our dog was jumping and barking which was not the case in the slightest and quite hilarious, as it was the dog sitting at their bar steady that was barking. This is unacceptable and unbelievable. It is also unfortunate that the owner has responded to my review by stating that I am using my Elite status to "shame" him. I have posted numerous reviews on Yelp over the years and love that Yelp is a platform for the community to share their open and honest experience at different establishments. I have always post honest reviews and will continue to do so, I will not be threatened by owners to do otherwise.

Yelp
Such a wonderful locally, veteran owned business on the Milk Block! Enjoyed the outdoor patio and delicious wine. Also May 2022- try your taste buds at the May mystery wine, if you guessed all correct $10 goes to CHOW 'Culinary Hospitality Outreach Wellness'!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this amazing little spot and it was the highlight of our weekend! Alli provided us with such an education on Colorado wines and her passion was contagious. Highly recommend if you are looking for more than just a typical wine tasting.

Yelp
Alli is amazing! We stopped in by chance, expecting a nice glass of wine. Instead it was an incredibly educational experience! I will be back!

Yelp
Love love love coming here for wine tastings! This Saturday was our second time and we got the Colorado red flight / Blanchard red flight. It was Halloween and they gave us some chocolate to pair with our wine. My favorite thing to do is also get their charcuterie board and get pleasantly surprised by whatever mix they throw together that day. It's always so good! Overall the vibe is perfect whether it's on a date or with friends. We'd love to come back again!

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at Blanchard Family Wines for our company happy hour. Cassidy was extremely helpful in securing our large group a reservation so we could all sit together. Excellent customer service and the venue is fabulous!

Yelp
We had such a good experience at Blanchard. We stopped by on a Monday when it seemed like everything else was closed so we were thrilled when we got the warmest welcome from Ally. She was over the top friendly, informative, and timely and not to mention the wine was fantastic. Definitely recommend the rose or white Cabernet! You definitely won't be disappointed :)

Yelp
I held a company reception/graduation for one of our development programs at ULI Colorado. I was completely blown away at how Blanchard Family Wines pulled my event together very quickly and were able to accommodate all of my requests. Working with James, the owner, and Cassidy, the Event Manager, was a great experience. The space is beautiful, and clean, and has just the right atmosphere for any event, evening or day-time. They also helped with our catering and it was phenomenal. The first time I have held an event since covid-19 where all of the food was eaten. Thank you, Blanchard Family wines, for really tailoring this event to our guests. Everyone raved about the space, and we will absolutely be back for future events!

Yelp
I personally love this place! We went for wine and snacks and had excellent customer service. We sat on the patio, drank wine and and ate charcuterie with our little dog. Then we had the best Macarons EVER for dessert! If you are looking for a place to hang out with the perfect scenery and patio I highly recommend it. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
This is the perfect place for a good relaxing night out, don't miss the entrance because you have to go into the alley behind to find it, it is the perfect hidden spot! The wine was strong and amazing. To find the food and drink menus you have to scan the QR code's on the table you get and there is a huge selection of different restaurants down the alley way that deliver the food straight to your table.

Yelp
What a fabulous place! Small but mighty, BFW offers beautiful Colorado wines, as well as a curated selection from California. All the wines stand out on their own as the highest in quality, and Blanchard is also making their own unique bottles. Huge shoutout to outstanding staff members Allie, Victoria, and Claire who made our visit extra special with their vast knowledge and warm hospitality. We especially recommend the 2019 Dairy Block Blend, a gorgeous deep red blend, chock full of dark berry notes, light minerality, and a smooth tannin finish. You don't want to miss the spectacular location, modern tasting room, and welcoming wine servers. Highly recommend!!
