"I learned that a 10-year-old Sonoma County winery is opening its first tasting room outside California in Denver’s Dairy Block, aiming to bring a downtown Sonoma County wine experience to a smaller space with room for about 50 drinkers, barrel storage, and a bottling line. Based in Healdsburg and sourcing from vineyards across Sonoma, the owners Mark and James Blanchard and winemaker Jene Chapanar are bringing eight varietals to Denver and will bottle and keg for the local market; they hope Denver’s restaurant, brewing, and distilling industries will support a diverse and growing wine culture and say they’re excited to eventually work with Colorado grapes. Their California blends are intended to add another facet to Denver’s wine community, and starting Friday, December 14 the tasting room at 1855 Blake Street, Suite 120 will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday–Saturday, offering wine flights, glasses and bottles along with cheese, charcuterie, and chocolate for purchase." - Josie Sexton
