When the moon hits your eyes, like a big pizza pie, that's a Morii.
My girl was a barista in a past life, and enjoys dragging my tired, nearly lifeless body around to new coffee shops. I'm a tea drinker before I'm a coffee drinker (thank you Uncle Iroh) and I'm trying to expand my palate. She's been raving about the coconut coffee here for a good minute.
I'm Vietnamese, and I like to keep up with the street food trends from my country. Right now, it's all about the egg coffee and coconut coffee.
Iced coconut Vietnamese coffee. That's all you need.
A good Vietnamese coffee alone is strong, decadent, sweet, bitter, and has the power to give you fluffy chest hair after one sip. Morii's version with coconut are all of these things, made more tame, subtle, and icey/creamy with the addition of the coconut.
It felt like I took one sip and it was gone. I looked at my girl and said, "I need like 5 more of these thangs." But get this, I looked wired as heck and my left eye kept twitching. Great coffee.
We also ordered the shoestring fries with spicy mayo and ketchup. My girl's also addicted to these fries, which in my opinion are just regular fries and not actually as thin as shoestring, but hey put a raw potato in front of me and I will probably try to eat it. That's how I feel about all potatoes. These were fresh, hot, lightly seasoned and paired so well with the spicy mayo, which I absolutely adored. I love their spicy mayo, but I will say. I think it's heinous to charge $0.25 for ketchup. I get it, yada yada, food costs, but as someone who's worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years... ketchup is a given if someone's gonna order fries, you know. It's un-American or whatever, otherwise.
The ambiance is very relaxed. The shop itself is a safe haven for stressed college students, stressed entrepreneurs, and other areas of stressed individuals. A family came in, and I swear the baby they had with them was stressed as well. The decor was tasteful, and I sure like being at this coffee shop on a rainy day. Good luck with seating though.
Highly recommend!
