The Best Restaurants On The Upper East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"Bohemian Spirit is a Czech restaurant on the first floor of the Bohemian National Hall building, so you can imagine the level of Czech pride on display. Black and white portraits of everyone from iconic figure skater Aja Zanova to the owner's family grace the walls, and you’ll hear people singing old drinking songs near the bar. Sit outside and you can easily pretend you’re having a beer in Prague—especially once you have their crusty fried cheese and roast beef with a creamy orange svíčková sauce on the table." - sonal shah, willa moore, will hartman, neha talreja

On the Grid : Bohemian House

"Bohemian culture first emerged in Europe as a way to describe the lifestyles of anti-establishment artists, writers, musicians, and actors living a free spirited, deconstructed lifestyle. It's fitting that a place like Bohemian House has found a home in River North, a neighborhood made famous through its artistic community. Enjoy the restaurant's eclectic decor and carefree essence while sipping on cocktails derived from traditional European recipes. The dinner menu, which is constantly shifting to reflect what's in season, is not one to miss. La vie boheme!" - One Design Company

The Best Upper East Side Restaurants, According to Eater Editors | Eater NY

"Bib Gourmand Czech restaurant on the ground floor of National Bohemian Hall feels old-world Eastern European with a menu to match. Kielbasa, borscht, liver pate, headcheese, goulash, and jagerschnitzel are on the menu. Don’t miss the specials — or the beer." - Melissa McCart

Bohemian Spirit

"It's old-world Bohemia, not hippie-chic, at this Czech beer hall located on the first floor of the National Bohemian Hall building. It exudes a classic European bar vibe with wood paneling, simple wood tables and vintage knick knacks. Naturally, beers and pilsners are the drink of choice, but for grape lovers, there is a nice European-focused wine list sprinkled with Czech and Austrian wines. Hearty fare is in store here. Svíčková, a flatiron steak in a deep orange all-spice accented sauce, leans sweet. Deep and flavorful, the meat is fork-tender, while the thick sauce is best when swiped up by the bread dumplings. Dumplings litter the menu, even at dessert, where strawberry-filled dumplings topped with crumbled gingerbread are a delicious finale." - Michelin Inspector

Bohemian Spirit - Review - Upper East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"Bohemian Spirit is a Czech restaurant on the first floor of the Bohemian National Hall, so you can imagine the level of Czech pride on display. Black and white portraits of everyone from iconic figure skater Aja Zanova to the owner's family grace the walls, chairs and chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and you’ll hear people singing old drinking songs near the bar. We’re on board with all of it—especially once we have their crispy, crusty, fried cheese and roast beef with a creamy orange svíčková sauce on the table. Sit outside and you can easily pretend you’re drinking a beer in Prague, or order some Becherovka and ovocné knedlík if herbal liqueur and fruit dumplings are your jam." - Neha Talreja
