The Best Restaurants In Lincoln Park

"Bonci serves Roman-style pizza “al taglio,” meaning cut (with scissors) when you order and sold by weight at the counter. The crust is airy and thick like focaccia, and the pizza doesn’t have very much sauce so the toppings are the focus. There are around 12 rotating varieties, and you’ll see combinations like potato with rosemary, mushroom and sausage, and ‘nduja with ricotta. Even if it sounds strange, it works. And compared to the one in the West Loop, this location is much bigger and has a large side patio." - sam faye, adrian kane, john ringor, veda kilaru

A Critic Finds Arguably Chicago’s Best Bibimbop in Lakeview - Eater Chicago

"Bonci offers well-crafted Roman-style pizza with rare ingredient combinations, featuring a cracklin' soot-mottled bottom and bubble-rich soft, chewy interior. Toppings include D.O.C.-quality prosciuttos, cloud-light ricotta, and Calabrian chili. Michael Nagrant rates the ricotta with zucchini, lemon zest, and pepper as ambrosial." - Jeffy Mai

Bonci Pizza is definitely worth a visit! They have so many unique and delicious varieties of pizza — something for everyone to try. I love that you can choose exactly how much of each pizza you want, which makes it fun to sample different flavors. The quality is great, but it’s a little on the pricey side for the portion size. Still, a great experience and a must-try if you’re in Chicago!

This was a unique pizza experience for us. We were told all the ingredients that go in to this pizza are imported from Italy and you definitely taste it in the pizza. They have about ten plus selections and everything is given to you based on weight so you can exactly choose how much you want. They cut it right there and box it up for you. We tried almost six flavors and each one of them so yummy and delicious. This is a the perfect spot to pick up your pizza for game night or a lazy dinner night at home. A must try.

Haven’t had Bonci in a couple of years. First time at this location. Everything was fine, the dough looks more brown than I remembered but that could be me remembering wrong. Service was pleasant, but food is so overpriced considering that these pizzas are out until they’re gone, meaning they could be out for hours. What I got was just under $21 with tax, no tip. I think this is exorbitantly expensive for what I got and will not be going back anytime soon for that price. Perhaps the area can support it, because there may be a lot of professionals with disposable incomes that will pay the expense for convenience and proximity in the area, but I feel like this place would be so busy if the pricing wasn’t so egregious. To pay $21 for what I got when I could’ve gotten a freshly baked Neapolitan margarita pie for the same price, feels grossly wrong.

We have been passing by this pizza place for ever and finally stopped in. It’s unique how you buy the slice by weight and can mix and match different pizzas. My wife and I loved it and will be back. The Burratta and Basil is AMAZING

BONCI PIZZA is unique with original pizza combos and worth every dollar! We tried an assortment of pizzas. It was so much fun to explore the different combinations that BONCI creates! I highly recommend the lemon and ricotta pizza. (Note- different pizzas are served daily with a few repeats of the most popular. And the price is according to weight, not per slice.) The late food critic, Anthony Bourdain, featured their Bonci Italian restaurant on his show- and raved about them as having one of the best pizza places he had ever visited. We will be back! This place is a MUST DO if you are visiting Chicago or live locally!

Omar is the manager of the place, he made sure our food was well served and warm. great customer service! And the pizzas were 10/10. We were happy to learn that there’s no pork in their pizzas! Will come again to this location ♥️

This place was a breath of fresh air. The ingredients were very fresh, the crust was thin and crispy and the topping were high quality and unique. We had the lemon and zucchini pizza and the spicy eggplant pizza. It reminded me of some of the slices I had in Venice. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent pizza served in an open space with shaded patio seating. Pizza is bready yet crispy, cheesy yet light. And tons of topping combinations to choose from. Highly recommend the meatball and sausage slices, all of which are sliced to your preference and are priced by weight. The freshness will stare you in the face as you order - employees are hand kneading the dough and baking it all day long. Service could be more friendly but you come here for the one of a kind pies. This place belongs in Chicago pizza lore, it’s that good.
