Boqueria - Review - Flatiron - New York - The Infatuation

"A few things to note before we get into it. First, this is a review of the Boqueria on 19th St., not of any of the other locations. Boqueria Soho has a different dynamic and clientele, and works for drinks, casual group meals, or catch-up dinners. Second, let us preface this by saying that we’ve been coming to Boqueria for a while now, and we generally enjoy the place. The only problem is that the food is hit or miss. The best bets on the menu tend to be the more simple items like brussels sprouts, pan con tomate, and anything with chorizo. The wine list is good and reasonably priced (plenty of bottles priced under forty dollars), and the churros are pretty excellent. Maybe even better than the ones that dude sells on the L train platform. At the end of the day, the good at Boqueria is definitely good, and if you stick to the right things, you’ll probably walk away happy. Then again, when we’re craving some Spanish food we’re probably headed to La Vara or Casa Mono instead. For the purposes of this Food Rundown, we’re going to stick (mostly) to the stuff we liked. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE Food Rundown Pan Con Tomate A simple Spanish classic, bread with smashed tomatoes garlic and some olives. Incredibly flavorful for being so simple. Bacon Wrapped Dates Three dates to an order, these sweet little guys are wrapped in awesome salty bacon. Amazing. Pimientos de Padrón Also known as shoshito peppers, and hopefully by now you know that we love shoshito peppers. Another winner for sure. Buñuelos de Bacalao We’re no stranger to salt cod fritters, but something about the texture on these don’t do it for us. We’d recommend the croquetas jamon instead. Asparagus with Poached Egg A special on a recent visit, these were incredible and the poached egg adds an amazing richness. Vegetables seem to get the right kind of love at Boqueria, which leads us to the brussels sprouts... Coles de Bruselas y Chorizo A good brussels sprouts dish is hard to beat, and this is one of the best we’ve had. Tasty roasted sprouts with chorizo, which makes everything better. Albóndigas Yep, these are awesome. Lamb meatballs with a sheep’s milk cheese sitting in a tomato based sauce. Save some bread to soak that up. Churros Warm donuts with cinnamon and sugar and some dark chocolate, it’s pretty much impossible not to stuff these into your face at high velocity." - Chris Stang

15 Great Bottomless Brunch Deals In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"The Deal: $29 for 90 minutes of unlimited mimosas or sangria, or $45 for unlimited Estrella beer, Bloody Marys, or cava. Boqueria’s bottomless brunch deal runs at all four of their locations, and the extensive Spanish menu includes some special brunch dishes in addition to their tapas. Try the brunch paella, with chicken, chorizo, and eggs, or order a tortilla española platter that comes with pan con tomate. This Flatiron restaurant is definitely a social spot, so come here with a small group that’s looking to stay the whole 90 minutes before stumbling out a little looser and louder than before." - Neha Talreja, Bryan Kim

The Best Tapas Places In NYC

"Boqueria is a chain with a bunch of locations around the city, but it’s still a solid spot for casual Spanish food and drinks. We like that the vermouth drinks here come on wooden boards with oranges, shishito peppers, cheese, and olives for no apparent reason other than DIY is trendy and cheese generally tastes good. In an ideal world, we’d show up here a few times a week and just order that, but the patatas bravas, bacon-wrapped dates, and spinach and fava beans should also be on your table." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, matt tervooren

Where To Eat for Restaurant Week in NYC 2023 - Eater NY

"This restaurant was in at the start of the tapas and small dish craze when it opened in 2006, and the sleek original Flatiron location with its cheese-and-charcuterie counter evokes modern Barcelona with a lengthy selection of tapas and larger raciones." - Robert Sietsema

Google
Boqueria never disappoints. It’s the kind of place is consistent in food and service. Tonight was no exception. We were served by the wonderful Wendy who recognized us from a previous visit and made us feel welcome. Usually we opt for an assortment of our favorite tapas, however since it was our anniversary and we were feeling adventurous we went for the Chef’s Menu. The food was delicious and it was a nice departure from our usual menu. Highly recommend the Patatas Bravas, the Gambas al Ajillo, Brussels sprouts and the seafood paella. Sangria is always good but the cocktails can be better. Highly recommend visiting.

Google
The food was pretty good, for me it was a hit or miss. The environment was pretty loud, but it’s probably because of the small space. Would definitely recommend Croquetas De Setas, Gambas Al Ajilli, and Forget-Me-Not (Drink). The Dátiles Con Beicon is pretty good, if you like blue cheese. Personally I don’t like the after taste. Overall, pretty good and definitely worth a try and make reservations, it gets busy!

Amazing tapas and drinks. Casual yet chill and cozy. Love this place and they have multiple locations across the city! Highly recommended

Google
Excellent lunch menus with reasonable prices for its location. We had Caesar salad, which was super delicious! Both Mushroom and Serrano Croquettes were terrific, as always. I think they serve the best Croquette in town. We ordered Bikini grilled cheese for the first and had to order another one because they were so good and crispy but not greasy. Both paellas were quite lovely, but my standard for paella is typically high, so this might not be the most delicious paella in NYC! I keep coming back to this place and always recommend it to friends who visit the city.

Google
Boqueria never disappoints, and our recent visit to the Flatiron location was no exception. We ordered several dishes to share, and every bite was outstanding—starting with the Croquetas (we got three orders!) because they were that good. Crispy on the outside and creamy with Serrano ham inside, perfectly balanced with a touch of quince purée. The Mini Hamburguesas were indulgent and delicious—juicy sliders layered with sobrasada-bacon jam, crispy Manchego, and garlic allioli. A flavor bomb in every bite. The Ibérico Mac n Cheese was a rich, comforting dish with a Spanish twist—perfectly cooked casareccia pasta in a creamy blend of cheeses, topped with smoky breadcrumbs and melt-in-your-mouth Jamón Ibérico. But the surprise standout for me? The Ensalada de Bruselas. Absolutely incredible—light yet complex, with shaved Brussels sprouts, green apple, cranberries, almonds, and Manchego, all tied together with a bright citrus vinaigrette. I could have eaten the entire bowl myself. Highly recommend this spot for a lively, shareable meal with bold flavors and thoughtful presentation. We’ll be back!

Bottomless brunch and family style feast! Great meal, beautiful restaurant, definitely coming back. Olivia was a great server with amazing suggestions.

We hadn't been here before and got the chef's selection, everything was delicious, staff was friendly. Good date spot too. Highly recommend.

Google
The seafood paella was not very flavorful but everything else was pretty good. I wouldn't say it's great tho I feel like the flavor was just lacking in every dish we got. Patata bravas was my favorite one. Loved it

Yelp
I was treated to this wonderful restaurant by a very good friend on Saturday, January, 25th, 2025 (Midday). Our waitress (Olivia) was extremely delightful, pleasant, courteous and very friendly. The food was spectacular and very delicious, but the service was outstanding. I will recommend Boqueria (Flatiron) to my friends and family. I love this restaurant!

Yelp
If you want to go for a quick tapas meal and an awesome bartender (Wenaldy!) then look no further! We happened to pop in quick and very happy that we did. This is a great Spanish tapas spot that I would suggest to sit at the bar (depending on your party size). Highly recommended: - Shishito margarita. Not sweet. Little bit of spice. Perfectly made (by Wenaldy!) - Gambas Al Ajillo (shrimp in a garlic sauce). Amazing!!! Soak the bread in the sauce and I'll look for the thank you message later :-) - Patatas Bravas (crispy potatoes) - - I think I may have almost licked the bowl if it would have been socially appropriate - Presa de Iberico (steak) - - fantastic. The sauce is really what made this dish To top off the meal, we got the churros on the house! They were amazing and cooked perfectly All in all, highly recommend this spot. It really was a great meal and for a NYC resident, there are a lot of great spots so my bar is set high :-)

Yelp
Solid spot and a great brunch offer on the weekends! $29 pp for a wide variety of options which gives you the ability to try many more tapas than if you were ordering a la carte with a small group of 2-3. Service was good but a bit rushed, and I felt like my group was hurried out after 1.5hours despite the restaurant being fairly empty. Must orders were definitely the churros con chocolat and the potatoes, but every dish was very good. The avocado toast was unlike anything I've ever had in Spain but also very yummy. Will def be back anytime I'm craving variety but coming with a smaller group. Also great that there are many locations and reservations are not too hard to come by!

Yelp
Made a reservation for a team Thanksgiving lunch here. When we arrived at noon, restaurant was all empty. But I loved the interior and the atmosphere. Gorgeous lighting and wall decors. There's a huge bar in front side as well. The menu has large selection of vegetables, meat and seafood tapas dishes. Quantities are good for sharing, so everyone gets to try different items. We were notified early Paellas take more than half an to cook, so we put in the Mariacos and Verduras orders right away. We started with the cheese platter that had three different kind, aged Manchego being my favorite. Fruits and breads on the platter were good too. Then we moved on to several taps items. The highlights for me were potatoes bravas, seared lamb skewers, seared octopus and grilled shrimp. The steak was decent but not as appealing as rest. Finally we got the Paellas as well. Loved the seafood one. It had clams, oysters, squid, shrimp, mussels, all mixed with some yummy rice. The service was excellent. Empty plates were removed on regular intervals. Food came out at decent pace. Gratuity was already added in the check since we were party of 7. Upon requesting for Apply pay, they provided me a QR code to pay via website where I was able to use card from my Apply Pay.

Yelp
We ordered The Boqueria Experience for $65 a person. We loved not having to choose plates and having a steady stream being brought to our table! After the fact, we tallied up all the dishes and were happy to see we saved $25 going this route and it was perfect for first time visitors. Next time we would order the following dishes: Datiles con beicon - perfect! Fideua Negra - OMG! 10/10

Yelp
Best meal of my NYC trip. Highly recommend with great service celebrating a birthday, but definitely get a reservation because it's smaller with a very popular location for visitors and locals alike. Cute warm bar and booth vibes! Here's our full food review with pics included below. Patatas bravas!! I crave these so much after leaving. This is a MUST TRY!! crispy with red sauce underneath and a creamy dressing, best item to start off with tbh and a dinner highlight Bacon wrapped dates - indulgent cheese filled smoked bacon with a sweet honey date, with great quality cheese taking over, bacon is perfectly crispy. Small portion size but super filling so you don't need more than 3 Ahi tuna bowl - fresh cilantro limey sauce, almost vinaigrette sour tangy and light with good cuts of tuna on top with no fishy vibe lingering. Zesty palate cleanser with a salad poke feel more elevated Paella- squid and sea salt flavored noodles with perfectly cooked shrimp on top, a fun alternative on a pasta dish and a creative paella topped with Lima beans and peas. Same sauce as the potatoes which enhances any meat or seafood dish!! Will say it could be mouth or clothes staining from the squid ink. Steak - delicious sauce but on the same level of the tapas, so I would opt for a chefs choice of the tapas. Really great quality and if you are craving a steak it's a mainstay and constant that holds down the rest of the more creative choices.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time and amazing dinner at Boqueria! Maria, our server, was amazing she brought out our sangria with minimal ice as requested, we had the patatas bravas, the meaballs and paella de mariscos! we sat outsioutside because it was so crowded but the night was perfect not very cold at all. Amazing must try!

Yelp
Came for happy hour on a Thursday! Loved the fact that happy hour started at 3pm. Pretty nice selection of items to choose from. Wish there were more drink choices. Bar isn't too big but they have some seating in the back and outside. Sat at the bar and service was great. Def plan to return when in the area. Would love to try their paella.

Yelp
We were here for the bottomless brunch, and we were not too impressed with the food. The interior design of the restaurant is very intimate, with dim lighting. We ordered the $29/person unlimited mimosa/sangrita and some tapas to pair with the drink. The food was too salty and it took the restaurant forever to bring up new pitcher when it is not crowded at all. The waiter was very helpful in explaining the menu, and we have a pleasant interaction at this restaurant.

Yelp
I clearly remember recommending tapas for dinner and then getting shot down by the group. Little did I know we ended up at Boqueria Flatiron for tapas. Some of the best tapas available in the city, too! The patatas bravas and the fries were the best dishes for the night. Octopus was way too chewy. Service was incredible with a slight hiccup caused by a nearby table saying our group was too loud. Inkind recommendations win over King of Yelp recommendations this one time.

Yelp
Boqueria has been one of my favorite spots for years. They have literally never disappointed me. This location is beautiful. It feels quiet enough to feel private and busy enough so you don't feel alone. The food is always amazing. The service is always top notch.

Yelp
Came here with my girlfriend on a Thursday evening! The only available reservation was for 5:15, so we had ourselves an early bird dinner. We ended up sitting right in the front. The food was all great, but it's a tapas place and their tables are so small, nothing fit! But, all the food was really good. We had the Patatas Bravas (Potatoes can never be wrong), the Croquets Jamon (these were absolutely fabulous), and the Bikini Serrano (super good). We also shared a pitcher of their red sangria. It wasn't too strong or anything, but it was good.

Yelp
Great little Tapas bar, that is cute with a hidden feel. We were greeted with such pleasure and seated accordingly at the bar. Drinks were great and tasteful & not bad for the price at all being in Manhattan. Sad that I was only there for a quick link up and didn't get to try the food but from seeing around it looked good . Will definitely make another trip and come out for the foods.

Yelp
Went for a weekday happy hour (4-6pm) and they were able to seat us at the bar or outside without a res. Lots of hh food options, a couple cocktails, and some wine/beer. The patatas bravas are the best bang for your buck at happy hour (full plate!) and the croquetas are good but there's so little. Overall better options for hh food than drinks. Would definitely go again.

Yelp
My teammates had a work lunch together at Boqueria. I've been to one of their locations in DC and not yet in New York. Everything was okay. We were a party of 6 and went for the $24 lunch tapas option; we chose 2 tapas per person and got a churro (1pp) for dessert. Because there were 10 tapas on the "Tapas Lunch" menu, we went for almost all of them except for the "Espárragos con Romesco", and ordered 2x Patatas Bravas, Pintxos Morunos, and the Croquetas de Jamón. It was nice and quiet during lunch time, with a few other diners that were also enjoying business lunches. However it was quite dark inside; when we left the restaurant at 1pm we were startled by the sunlight! I wish there was more lighting inside... The food was okay. I really enjoyed the Croquetas de Setas (mushrooms) and the Patatas Bravas (can't go wrong with potatoes!!) Where the meal fell flat for me was Pintxos Morunos dish - lamb skewers. It tasted undercooked, chewy, and - dare I say - not tasty? I was surprised how the Albóndigas also weren't my favorite. The sauce was sweet, and I was thrown off by that. The salads were good in the sense that they were good portions for sharing amongst 6 people. But they were a weak part of the meal, especially the Ensalada Vasca. It was giving "I could make this at home... for cheaper!" At least the Ensalada de Bruselas was more interesting and had brussels, dried cranberries, and a citrus vinaigrette that had more flavor. But even that still was very eh; the dry raw brussels didn't do it for me. The escalivada was just okay and the Tortilla Española was room temperature. I was disappointed it didn't taste fresh! (Let me know if I'm wrong here and that's how it should be served). I'd recommend to not go for the Lunch Tapas option. Although they included a well-rounded selection of greens, fried options, and proteins on paper, they were weak options (at least, I'd hope their other dishes are better...) The churro is decent, nothing crazy. I'm disappointed because the location in DC was a lot better. Some of the dishes at this location were a miss to me. If you opt for some of their stronger dishes, it could be worth your while.

Yelp
I love this place!!! I don't feel the other locations do the food justice! The staff are amazing and the young woman at the front was absolutely hospitable and friendly. She seated us and recommended a few dishes - it was helpful.

Yelp
A rainy afternoon tapas visit! We had a great time here and the service was excellent. There were a few dishes that were spot on & then a few items that could easily be improved. Jamon Croquettes - YUM. Perfect and loved the little bit of jelly/purée they come with. Clams - The garlic parsley sauce was lovely and the clams were fresh. Maiz rustido - Only okay, wouldn't get again. Pulpo - This was a little overcooked but aside from that it was standard for octopus! Carne a la parrilla - We ordered this medium rare and it came out medium well. It would have been great if it wasn't overcooked. Churros - Tasty but so skinny!! Skinniest churros I've ever had. The blood Mary was spicy & my grilled pineapple sangria was ok. Overall there were a couple of standout dishes but also a few disappointments. I would recommend this restaurant for drinks & bites. Will 100% come back for the croquettes if we are in the area again!

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. I came here specifically for the Paella and I wasn't disappointed. It was one of the best that I ever had. It's made with bomba rice and I think that's what made the difference. I also recommend the Gambas al Ajillo. It's shrimp with garlic sauce and it was very good. My wife ordered it and I couldn't stop eating it. The Pimientos de Patron was a very good side dish.

Yelp
(2.5/5) I heard great things about this place, but unfortunately I did not like it as much as my friend did. Made reservations for a party of 3 and went on a Tuesday afternoon, around 4PM. The place was empty. We ordered 5 different tapas: Jamon Serrano, Boquerones con Naranja, Patatas Bravas, Gambas al Ajillo and the Pulpo a la Plancha. The Jamon Serrano ($14) consisted of 5 thin and small pieces of jamon. It was good, but a bit overpriced for what we got. The Boquerones con Naranja ($13) was too sour for my tasting. The Patatas Bravas ($13) was one of the most reviewed items in their menu on Yelp and highly recommended, but I thought it was average. I have been to Spain and those Patatas Bravas cannot compare to what I had in Spain. The Gambas al Ajillo ($19) was another highly recommended item I saw as I was reading the reviews of this restaurant. That dish did not disappoint. The sauce was so good I wish they gave us more bread to dip it in the sauce. the Pulpo a la Plancha ($21) was overcooked, very hard, rubbery and with burnt ends. As for the entree, we opted for the medium Seafood Paella ($49). The paella takes about 30-45mins to be made, so if this is the only thing you want to try, be ready to wait. But let me tell you, it is not worth the wait. At first it looks really yummy, but it was extremely oily and overcooked to the point that some of the seafood and the rice tasted bitter. I guess we still had hopes on Boqueria because we also got dessert. The worst churros of my life. Thin, short and undercooked. The batter tasted and felt raw. Since we were having a good time, we did not complain in person despite the horrible food, but I wish I did. Service wise, we waited a long time for the tapas because there was an issue with their system, but weren't informed until a lot later. Originally we came to this place to try it first since one of my friends has relatives visiting from overseas and they wanted to host a birthday party. Glad we tried it because this place was a no.

Yelp
4.5 / 5.0 - My friends and I came to Boqueria for post-dinner drinks and churros. The restaurant was lively on a Saturday evening, but we were able to get seats at the bar. I was only planning to have a drink, but one of my friends told me I HAD to try the churros. I was skeptical at first, but they were so delicious we ended up ordering seconds! They are a must-try, even if you're not in the mood for churros. We ordered the Churros Classicos ($9+ for 5 pieces), with a choice of sauces: dulce de leche, hot chocolate or Nutella (or all 3 for $2+). Our second order took a while, but besides that, we had a great time. Can't wait to have them again and also try other dishes!

Yelp
Cozy little restaurant and bar - stopped in briefly before an appointment to grab a drink and a bite to eat. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice and fast with the drinks.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times before and it's always great. Tonight, I felt a significant shift in the professionalism and hospitality of the staff for the better. At the end of our meal, AJ came up to us and checked in. He was so kind and, as an operations manager myself, I really appreciated his genuine attention to detail and his authentic strategy to encourage repeat visits with his engagement and the voucher he provided. I'm incredibly impressed and will definitely be back, bringing others to experience the flatiron location as well.

Yelp
Visited on a Monday for dinner, and it was worth it! We did the tapas menu and ordered the shaved brussel sprouts, patatas bravas, endive salad, lamb skewers, and shrimp gambas. Everything was wonderfully prepared. The drinks were very refreshing, and our server was so kind and great.

Yelp
We had the chef menu, the one with jimon. Very interesting that they make customized menu based on your preference. The food portion was more than we can consume. Food was delicious. Drink as well.

Yelp
I have never had Spanish food this delicious! The restaurant is stylish and contemporary, the staff and servers were friendly and attentive. The food was outrageously delicious! Every plate was better than the next. Ahi Tuna, Truffle Croquettes, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Vegetarian Paella, and Tortilla Espanole. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Was lucky enough to try their 2023 RW special menu. It was not very difficult to secure a seat as they have many branches in NYC. At $45 I got in total 6 dishes which was a great deal in terms of avg. price! Besides, nothing was disappointing. 1. The first dish was tomato bread (Pan Con Tomate), quite standard. 2. The second one was cured meat, cheese and dried grapes. While the meat contained too much fat, the sharp, hard cheese was amazing, and went well with the sweet grapes and tomato bread. 3. I chose Escalivada as the main appetizer, which was basically eggplant, peppers, onion mix topped with yougurt, and served with foccacia. The veg and yogurt were served chill, while the bread was warm. It was the most interesting dish throughout the dinner. Everything went surprisingly well with each other, and it was great to dip the bread in the veg+yogurt mix. 4-5. I chose beef+pork meatballs and Maiz Rustido as my main tapas. In general OK. The meatballs were not warm enough, but the tomato sauce+sheep's milk cheese was pretty good as it was creamy, rich, and flavorful. 6. For dessert I got the churros. Unfortunately I was full at that time so I did not try it lol. This restaurant also has a lunch menu ($24), for which you get 2 tapas and 1 dessert. It seemed to be more practical (in terms of portion size) to try. Besides food the restaurant was kinda small. The patio did not have a good view either. I suggest trying other branches as well:)

Yelp
The service was the highlight of the meal. The server suggested we try the Boqueria Experience tasting. It included smaller portions of everything I wanted to try. Our server knew what I liked and made sure the chef curate my experience around that. She coursed out my food nicely without rushing our catch up. She'd swing by attentively but not intrusive at all. I wished I remember her name. One of best experience I've had in a while. Always love their lamb meatballs, Brussels sprouts, and Shishito Margarita!

Yelp
I came here during restaurant week for dinner and was honestly really underwhelmed. I've seen a lot of good reviews, but didn't feel like the experience was worth it. The dinner cost $45 a person but the portion of every dish was really small. Food: -Croquetas de seta: This was my favorite dish we had. The truffle aioli was delicious and the croquettes were nice and crispy. -Gambas Al ajillo: This was probably the dish that came with the most reasonable portion. The shrimp was cooked well (maybe just a little bit over cooked), and the sauce was really good dipped in bread. -Maíz rustido: The corn was nice and flavorful. Also a yummy tasting dish. -Escalivada: I liked the focaccia this dish came with and the eggplant and labneh was flavorful. -Pan con tomato con jamón y manchego: The bread, cheese, and ham was average. Nothing to complain about, but didn't have much special going on. -Patatas bravas: I think this dish had potential to be at the top of my list. The garlic aioli was good, but our dish had a bunch of burnt bits of potato that were really salty. -Churros: The churros were small and skinny, we only got one per person. Again, this was another dish where it didn't seem that special. The chocolate dipping sauce was thick which I liked. Service: The restaurant had a few empty tables when we arrived, so I was surprised when our food took so long to come out. The courses that came out were served out of order and they forgot one of our dishes so we had to remind our server. I likely will not be returning and would not put this on a list of restaurant recommendations for friends and family. We all left still feeling a bit hungry. Maybe the experience would've been better if it weren't restaurant week, but I felt like it wasn't worth it for the cost with the small portions and the poor service.

Yelp
Due to the space, noise bounces off the walls. Also, I don't like bar seats without a bridge to rest my feet thus my feet were dangling off the ground. The food, drinks, ambience, decor and service were great.

Tonya H.

Yelp
Boqueria never disappoints me. I love the ambiance and it's just a calming place with great tapas. Great drinks, great water.Great everything. I have been to this location before a little bit ago and the taste has not changed an ounce. The Patatas Bravas I always love just the right crispness the aioli so creamy and mouthwatering. The shrimp were cooked to perfection! I wanted to drink the sauce out of the pan. The Pan Con Tomate tasted was so good as well. Sometimes I'm not in the mood for big dishes and when I'm in the area this is my go to spot for sure.

Yelp
This was our second visit in the last couple of months, again for brunch. We made a reservation for 3 on Resy and were promptly seated in the middle row of communal style bar tables. Started with a round margaritas , since the paella options take 30/40 minutes. Waiter advised us that small paella was not available and we had to order large. We ordered 2 seafood and 1 chicken. When the food finally arrived, we learned that the server only put in 2 paella orders. The manager offered to put any other brunch plate on the house for the mishap. Got the steak and eggs. Steak was petite but otherwise well cooked medium rare. Fried eggs were super fried and a bit of an afterthought. All in all we liked the food but service could definitely improve.

Yelp
Ordered: Glass of Red Sangria (~$13): Classic Red Wine Sangría with Gin, Triple Sec, Orange, Lemon, Fresh Fruits Glass of White Sangria (~$13): Classic White Wine Sangría with Rum, White Peach, Lemon, Fresh Fruits Glass of Rose Sangria (~$13): Rosé Wine, Tequila, Pampelmousse Grapefruit Liqueur Patatas Bravas (~$12): crispy potatoes, salsa brava, pimentón, garlic aioli Boquerones (~$12): pickled white anchovies, orange, olive oil, black pepper, house-made potato chips Croquetas Cremosas (~$14): creamy croquettes; three each of mushroom and Serrano ham Albondigas (~$17): Colorado lamb meatballs, tomato sauce, sheep's milk cheese, basil Small Paella Mariscos (~$29): bomba rice, monkfish, sepia, squid, shrimp, clams, mussels, saffron, salsa verde Aya's take: After many months of my Spanish friend suggesting we get Spanish food, here we are! And yes, I tried all 3 sangrias so you don't have to, and the white sangria is the winner. You're welcome. Now I'm going to be honest, the Paella BLEW me away; I mean truly phenomenal and if you come here and don't get it, you're a disgrace (respectfully). With appetizers, the Small Paella is easily enough for 4+ people. Some of the appetizers weren't memorable but the Patatas Bravas wasn't one of those. They;re crispy yet soft and the garlic aioli was light and well-made. The mushoom Croquetas were also amazing! I could eat at least 7 in one sitting. Boqueria is a must-try!

Yelp
There's nothing particularly wrong with this place, but nothing about the food nor service was that impressive. I thought the escalivada eggplant dip was one of the best things we ordered, but I would suggest passing on the lamb skewers. They didn't come out very hot and honestly, they just weren't that good for $9 apiece. They were also out of several tapas items we tried to order which I found strange. The food came extremely fast but our server wasn't very friendly. Our experience was fine overall, but in a city with so many tapas options I definitely think there are better places out there that are more worth the money.

Yelp
So glad I followed friend recommendations to visit this restaurant! I was pleasantly surprised to be seated and served quickly with such kind servers! Croquetas ($9) This was my favorite dish out of everything I ordered. The cream consistency was perfect, and the outer membrane layer of the croquetas was extremely crispy. The truffle aroma was perfect. I only wish the portion size for the croquetas were larger overall. Paella ($45) The Paella was cooked well. It was very flavorful. Took about 30-40 minutes to prepare, so it was very fresh when it had arrived. Patatas ($13) The aioli itself was great. Although it was very filling, the potatoes were a bit too simple for the given price. I prefer my potatoes more crispy, so perhaps it was more of just a personal thing.

Yelp
I absolutely love the spot, starting from the house to the servers and amazing food and drinks, this is my definite go to after work spot. They are so accommodating and friendly, you can tell that they love to make their customers happy. The drinks are amazing and the food well, come on what can I say everything was outstanding.

Yelp
I had a friend who was raving about this place for a while so we went to go try it. I'm not really a tapas kind of person so I was a bit nervous. Tapas tend to be a bit expensive for a small amount of food. BUT LET ME TELL YOU... We started off with wines recommended by our waitress (her name escapes me but she was absolutely amazing). She gave us the exact notes we were looking for. We ordered the Lamb Skewers, croquettes, eggplant dip, pear salad, and the crispy potatoes and let me be the first to say that we were ASTOUNDED at how amazing and beautifully flavored each dish was. The crispy potatoes were my absolute favorite alongside the lamb skewers which unfortunately I didn't get a picture of but that was probably the best lamb I've ever had in my life (and I eat lamb a few times a year). This is my new favorite spot. It'll be hard to compete.

Yelp
The drinks and food at Boqueria Flatiron was excellent. Everything was so delicious and the place was nice and cozy for a quick bite. Chef Anthony really knows his stuff and his good is amazing. 100/100 for the chef!!

Yelp
We love this place. Friendly staff and classic, authentic tapas. We had the pan con tomate, iberico Bellota, Gambas alajillo and the tortilla -- all excellent. Since this was lunch we passed on wine, but on a previous dinner visit the staff was very helpful with a selection of grape juice. The only problem with Boqueria is we were just a twosome and there were way more dishes that we wanted to try. It's like dim sum -- go with friends so you can share.

Yelp
Had the prix fixe menu here for a friend's birthday and overall food was pretty good! The tapas did come out a little too slowly in the beginning so we remained hungry for the first 1 hour or so. I really loved the croquettes and patatas bravas and would totally come back just for those. The other tapas were solid too but not as memorable. For mains, the roast chicken and seafood paella were both good - only thing about roast chicken is that it was a little on the drier side but otherwise pretty flavorful. We also had pitchers of sangria which I thought were kinda watered down. The dinner was 2.5 hours in total and in the end they brought out churros with sparklers for my friend who was celebrating her birthday. Those churros with the chocolate dipping sauce were FIRE and would also get those again.

Yelp
My friend ordered a drink at the bar as a surprise for our other friend who was celebrating his birthday. The rest of our table was ok with the watered down sangria. My friend paid for the ONE drink at the bar. Once my friend came back to the table, the manager came all the way to our table with such body language like she was ready to fight. Told us we couldn't order at the bar 'cause we have a table. Ok...that's fine, but there's a way to approach and speak to your customers. Also, the drink was PAID FOR!!! I went up to her and asked what was the issue and she went off saying "you're confusing the bartender, you have a table so what's the point in having a table then?" I explained to her why my friend went to the bar to order the drink and then walked away. She comes BACK to the table and approaches me ( again with strong body language) and says "What was that?" and she literally argued with me. So I ask "do you have a manager?" her response " I AM THE MANAGER AND I CAN GIVE YOU MY EMAIL" Ok. Cool. When it was close to closing time, instead of saying "we close at 10, and are closing out tabs" she randomly comes over while we're STILL eating and says "do you want to pack that up to go?" We were all silent because we were confused and thought she was kicking us out. On top of that, our bill was over $600, so that type of talk and behavior was unnecessary. Never coming here again!

Yelp
This place is still great. We've been coming year for the past 18 years. It's consistently excellent - the food is always amazing, the service is super friendly and it's just consistently great. So happy that's in the neighborhood.

Yelp
I found this place to be have a stylish ambience with the high seating and beautiful light fixtures. It's not very big, and got full by the 7pm mark, but it wasn't interruptive or loud. We could still have a conversation without screaming at each other. The food was quite delicious and the drinks were ok, I didn't get much alcohol in my drink, I think... The only reason for 4 stars is the lamb chop we ordered, possibly the most expensive tapas item, with just 1 piece per plate, was burnt, cold and rubbery by the time it was served, probably because it was a busy night and wasn't served on time to us, but the attention to detail is important and that dish should not have been served..I'd say poor call but surely not something that happens often. We also tried the mushroom croquettes , these were my fav, the jamon croquettes, eggplant dip and the octopus, all lovely. For main we had the herb twisted chicken, was ok, and the paella, also quite flavorful. It's definitely worth a try.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with some coworkers. Good thing we made a reservation because it was packed! The 4 of us shared Patatas Bravas (x2), Croquetas Cremosas (x2), Tabla de Quesos y Embutidos, lamb meatballs, pan con tomate. We also share a pitcher or red sangria and 2 of us had a margarita de hibisco picante. For desert we had an order of the caramel and Nutella churros. I'm always skeptical skeptical of tapas places because of how small the portions are. But I left pretty full. I really liked the patatas bravas and the pan con tomate. The lamb meatballs were good and I thought the croquettes were just ok. The charcuterie style board was tasty. Churros we're really tasty. The sangria was ok and my margarita was good but not amazing. The service was great! Our total bill was around $242. Compared to Jersey restaurant this might be a little high but this is New York so what you'd expect.

Yelp
tldr; good food, friendly but not very informative staff, lively ambiance This was my second time visiting Boqueria (also this specific location). I went with a party of three on Halloween evening with dinner reservations and ordered the Boqueria Experience (seasonal market menu dishes). We were seated immediately upon checking in. Before ordering, we tried a few times asking the servers what was included in the Boqueria Experience with no success. Decided to just try it out anyway and figured it couldn't be a bad idea. We got a variety of tapas which came out at an appropriate pace. Around this time of year, the Boqueria Experience included yams, lamb skewers on bread, bacon-wrapped dates, the hand-carved Jamon Iberico, a salad, a mini bread and cheese board, mushroom croquettes, and seafood paella. Honesty was impressed at the variety but not so much at how the portions were distributed - small portions of almost everything but the yams (which were huge). We also were not told which was what while we were being served, and only realized that we had been served the Jamon Iberico at the very beginning after all the other courses came out. Also, there was almost a mishap for dessert as well. We were asked whether we would like dessert or not, and we said no. As we were getting ready to pay, another server came and told us belatedly that since we ordered the Boqueria Experience, we would be getting churros as part of our meal. On top of the lack of information on each menu item, it just ended our visit on a bit of a sour note. Given the confusion, I would not recommend the experience. I would however recommend visiting the establishment, as the food is very delicious! :) My favorites were the seafood paella and the lamb skewers. Staff is also generally very friendly but seemed a bit disorganized or too busy. I experienced similar rushes during my first visit (staff constantly asking us if we were done with our food only 5-10 minutes after being served!). Can't speak for service at other locations.

Yelp
Nothing to write home about. Tried the tasting menu which included 5-6 tapas. We also got the paella which was pretty average as well.

Yelp
Great Manhattan eatery on the near lower west side. We had some tapas and paella. Really good. Excellently prepared, presented and great service. Wine list was also very good, they had our favorite Spanish white and red. Nothing to improve, the place is on my A list.

Yelp
Satisfied my craving for tapas and paella at Boqueria! We ordered a bottle of cava which I really enjoyed. It was the perfect accompaniment to our food. We got the patatas bravas (a must!), the lamb skewer, the brussel sprouts, and the seafood paella. The patatas bravas were my favorite. The lamb skewer was good, but nothing crazy special. I was expecting the brussel sprouts to be crispy but they were cooked another way. They had great flavor though! The paella was also good. The service was great and the restaurant was cozy!

Yelp
Solid tapas restaurant! Had a 6:45 reservation inside on a Friday. Perhaps it's because I don't get out enough or it was just extra boisterous that evening, but inside was so incredibly loud with conversation. I had to talk extremely loudly and had a very hard time hearing. So if you're going for a first date, you may want to rethink, hah. I ordered the below for 2 very hungry people and it was a good amount (although we left stuffed). Excuse my poor quality photos (there was ambiance dim mood lighting). -Tabla De Embutidos: yum. The tomato bread is so good. Recommend! We ended up ordering more jamon and bread after this - that's how much we loved it. -Ensalada De Tomate: so refreshing. Recommend! -Maiz Rustido: not bad, but probably won't order again. Really just tastes like roasted corn (which it is), but it wasn't a stand out. -Pulp a la Plancha: this was a disappointment. Octopus was a bit over cooked so it was chewy and it didn't really have much flavor. The potatoes are just seasoned with olive oil too, so all in all it was not a flavorful dish and kind of dry. The best part was the fennel salad. -Datiles con Beicon: can never go wrong with bacon, dates, and cheese. Recommend! -Croquetas Cremosas: I love croquettes. Recommend! - Churros Rellenos de Nutella: yum. Chocolately, sugary, crunchy, doughy. Recommend!
