Boro Brine - Review - Williamsburg - New York - The Infatuation

"Boro Brine in Williamsburg was briefly a place calledHear & There, a Japanese listening bar and omakase counter. The hi-fi system is still there, but there’s now a different chef (formerly ofAtoboyandTadhanà), and a new concept. The restaurant is nowentirely seafood-focused, with a lobster pot pie, and a filet-o-fish sandwich made with fried skate, comté, and kimchi." - Will Hartman

Brooklyn Seafood Restaurant Boro Brine Opens in Williamsburg | Eater NY

"A sudden Brooklyn switcheroo turns the short-lived Japanese listening bar and omakase Here & There into a seafood restaurant opening Wednesday, October 22, in Williamsburg. The whole menu is full of seafood, with prawn nuggets with creme fraiche and caviar; a take on the Filet-O-Fish with skate, Comté cheese, and kimchi; lobster pot pies; and raw oysters. Drinks skew bright and crisp, with minerally wines, citrus cocktails, and highballs like the Big Apple Fizz made with sunchoke-infused tequila reposado, honeycrisp apples, tamarind, and soda. Co-founder Samantha Nie says the team changed the concept because “we wanted to give our guests a more approachable menu that reflected New York City,” and Here & There’s high-end audio system remains in place. Executive chef Mark Nobello leads the kitchen, drawing on time at Danji and O Ya and a stint as chef de cuisine at Atoboy, while beverage manager Omar Bautista brings experience from Crown Shy, Torrisi, and Major Food Group’s ZZ Club." - Nadia Chaudhury

stunning atmosphere, exceptional service, and even better food. boro brine is one of those rare spots where everything hits at the same time — the vibe, the pacing, the hospitality, the plates, all of it. the presentation is wild in the best way, and the flavors were insane…the kind of dishes you’re still thinking about days later. that lobster pot pie? unreal. they could sell that by itself on a street corner and i’d still pull up every other day. every course felt intentional, layered, and honestly just fun to eat. drinks were fantastic too…you can tell there’s real craft and thought behind every cocktail. thank you to the entire boro brine team for the care, the energy, and the great experience. absolutely worth the hype! can’t wait to come back.

Great new elevated seafood spot in Williamsburg! The space is gorgeous and has one of the best speaker systems I’ve heard in a restaurant. All of the plates we ordered were delicious. The stand outs were the tuna carpaccio and the branzino for me. The chef explained the dishes to us and seeing him prepare them was a treat! Delicious cocktails and wine from the beverage manager as well. Really happy to see this in our neighborhood and will be returning to try their other dishes soon!

A delicious and refreshing new gem to the neighborhood — blown away by the creativity and unique tastes of their dishes, and consistency in theme. It was a privilege and great surprise to have exec chef Mark Nobello share his personal story & inspiration behind the focaccia dish. My +1 and I also ordered the tuna carpaccio, prawn nuggets, lobster pot pie, and — now one of my fave desserts ever — the pot de crème. Our cocktail & mocktail were tasty. Great, friendly, hardworking staff too. Cozy cool space. Will definitely be back to try more. 10/10 would rec.

This place is pure magic. The service is immaculate — the chefs are incredibly thoughtful, genuine, and conversational. Boro Brine is perfectly elevated and special, without feeling pretentious or exorbitant. Cocktails are all great. The focaccia was perfect. The king salmon and tuna carpaccio were delicious. The prawn nuggets were unique and amazing. And the tilefish was an incredible surprise. Do not skip the desserts. We will absolutely be back for the pot pie. Thank you thank you for such a wonderful evening <3

I loved dining at Boro Brine! Delicious food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. It's hard to pick a favorite -- I enjoyed the focaccia, amberjack, fish fillet ... and of course can't forget about the dessert! 😊 Oh! You HAVE to try the steamers. 😋👏🏼

Beautiful atmosphere and friendly service with a nostalgic, seafood-focused menu. The fish sandwich was excellent. I loved the crispy texture of the fish sandwich, and the kimchi and dill flavors complimented the fish nicely. I also enjoyed the rich, savory broth of the steamers and the flavorful tuna carpaccio. Each dish shines in its own way and the thought and care that went into the menu really shows. The cocktails were also excellent.

We had a fantastic meal at Boro Brine! The lobster pie was rich and full of flavor, the tile fish was perfectly cooked, and the fish fillet sandwich was fresh and delicious. The branzino was another standout — perfectly prepared and great to share. The house focaccia was warm and fluffy, a perfect start to the meal. The cocktails were creative and innovative, and there’s a great wine selection that pairs beautifully with the seafood. You can really taste the quality in everything. Excellent service and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere — a great addition to the neighborhood and perfect for parties or a cozy date night. We’ll definitely be back!

Boro Brine offers inventive takes on fresh seafood, all the dishes we tried were so creative! We went with a big group and tried everything on the menu. My favorites were the focaccia, fish sandwich and donuts. The ambiance was elevated by their stunning high-end audio system and chic design. I’ve never been in a restaurant with better acoustics!

Yelp
This place is new seafood lovers oasis. I took my husband here for his 49th bday and it was perfect. From the service to the atmosphere to the unique dishes and amazing cocktails. Ps they have a great happy hour that showcases it all too. We will be back. My favorite dish was the tile fish...amazingly hearty and light at same time and flaky. Every sauce on every dish was insane.

Yelp
The food was alright with a few misses; the kitchen was extremely slow; our waitress (blonde hair) was exceptionally kind. Not sure if the restaurant is still working out operational kinks since it opened just a few weeks ago but in total we were there for over 2.5 hours! The first dish came out over an hour after we were sat. I think something might be up with the kitchen since the servers were very attentive with the water. Also when the first dish finally came, they kept trying to deliver it to the table next to us which indicates some degree of chaos. We got: - Amberjack: skippable. The bonito was good quality but the persimmon flavor was cloying. - tuna carpaccio: this was good. the texture combined with pork belly was creamy and the sauce was flavorful. - prawn nuggets: Painfully salty. Would be better at a dim sum or Thai spot. truly so salty but the labneh helped dilute the salt temporarily. The labneh dish was cute. - lobster pot pie: not worth the wait + $41 price tag. tastes like normal chowder with puff pastry. I enjoyed it standardly. This must have taken an additional 30 min wait and the waitress was apologizing pretty profusely for the delay. Overall, I wouldn't come back. The waitress was the only redeeming quality so I bumped up the rating from 2 to 3 stars. The lighting is good for a date night and the noise level was a good level. it randomly became cold & drafty for a few minutes. everyone started shivering until a patron asked the staff to address it. I'd be interested to read some other perspectives about this place!
