The 37 Best Restaurants in St. Louis, Missouri

"After the beloved Cafe Osage closed, James Beard winner Gerard Craft stepped in and in 2021 reopened the restaurant as Bowood by Niche, naming Dakota Williams as chef. The walls of the dining room are covered in windows that let in tons of natural light, which enhances the feeling of renewal in Williams’s flavorful, plant-forward breakfast and lunch menu. Some of the restorative dishes include the chile-fried tofu sandwich with pickled cucumbers and green goddess dressing and a butter lettuce salad composed of trout, lemon vinaigrette, and herbs. In keeping with the Osage tradition, Bowood sells a gorgeous selection of houseplants on the nursery side of the space." - Holly Fann, Joel Crespo

The 32 Essential St. Louis Restaurants

"St. Louis kitchens are populated with dozens of competent young chefs who have graduated from restaurants in the Niche Food Group, owned by James Beard winner Gerard Craft. When the beloved Cafe Osage and its bountiful quarter-acre farm closed in 2020, the city let out a collective wail of lament. But Craft stepped in and in 2021 reopened the restaurant as Bowood by Niche, naming Dakota Williams as chef. The walls of the dining room are covered in windows that let in tons of natural light, which enhances the feeling of renewal in Williams’s flavorful, plant-forward breakfast and lunch menu. Had the loveliest brunch with a friend and we couldn't decide between all of the options so we ordered 3 items and shared them. We ordered the heirloom tomato gazpacho because it was a blend of foods we wouldn't imagine together and it was delicious and refreshing. This creativity won us over quickly. The Maryland Crab Benedict was also incredible and the Vermont cheddar waffle was absolutely perfect. We both ordered N/A drinks and they were refreshing and flavorful. Will definitely be back.

We had an outstanding brunch experience at Bowood by Niche! The setting is beautiful and unique — a converted warehouse that also serves as a nursery, filled with plants and natural light. It creates a vibrant yet relaxing atmosphere that’s perfect for brunch. The service was excellent — attentive, friendly, and made the entire experience feel seamless. We started with cocktails: the Hibiscus Rose 75 was light and floral, the Margot Spritz was bright and refreshing, and the Classic Aviation was perfectly crafted. For food, we ordered the Classic Breakfast, the Egg Toast, and the Cacio e Pepe Eggs. Every dish was outstanding. The Egg Toast featured soft, creamy scrambled eggs layered on perfectly toasted bread, and the Cacio e Pepe Eggs were a creative and delicious twist on a classic pasta flavor. The Classic Breakfast was hearty and well-executed — everything you want from a traditional brunch plate. Bowood by Niche is a true gem — incredible food, a stunning setting, and top-notch service. Highly recommend!

What a great experience at Bowood! We came for breakfast on a Sunday morning right when they opened. They fill up fast so be sure to make a reservation or come early. Atmosphere is fantastic with a plant shop attached to the restaurant. The patio looked beautiful and we can’t wait to return to dine outdoors. The service was great, super quick and attentive. Definitely on the more expensive side for a breakfast, but it was worth it. We shared the French toast bread pudding…10/10 you must try it. Very decadent and could be split between multiple people. Cacio e Pepe eggs were to die for. Seriously so delicious with the arugula mix. The traditional breakfast platter was also great, potatoes could have been a little crispier. Overall a great dining experience, we will be back!

This place is pretty awesome. Excellent atmosphere with lots of natural light, and even ability to buy plants, etc. The food here is very good. Quality wise for breakfast food, I would rate it very high. I ordered the pancakes with strawberries and a side of twice scrambled eggs with cheese. Pancakes were unlike any other pancakes I've ordered. Think of them like a sweet cornbread or at least sweet corn meal based pancake which are much more filling than traditional pancakes. Eggs were cooked just right as well. My mother ordered the reuben sandwich with fries. I'm personally not a fan of rye bread or sauerkraut, but I could definitely appreciate the taste for those who do like it. Excellent quality, if you're a fan of those items. Fries were thin straw-like fries (not a bad thing), but tasted great. Food wise I would rate it a 10/10. Service was not the best, though. We waited a very long time before our waiter came over and it seemed like their was a bit of confusion as to who was going to be our server. Even after the server was established, I felt like we didn't have enough check-ins from our server. I would have actually ordered more items, but didn't see the server frequently enough. That being said, DEFINITELY still a place to go checkout. Overall review is a 9/10.

Google
So pretty! Especially as a new plant mom. I loved looking at all the plant options while sipping a cocktail and waiting to be seated. The cocktail selection was definitely different and not my favorite but the bartenders were EXTREMELY pleasant. The egg toast was FANTASTIC!!! Like I dream about it and would have it several times a week if I could. Nice soft scrambled eggs with the soft spread and flavor was on point. No complaints at all. The crab cakes were good although I thought they would be a bit thicker but the sauce and nice runny egg made up for the disappointment.

Anthony was an amazing server for our Mother’s Day breakfast. The strawberry waffle, breakfast burrito, and Cacio e pepe eggs with sourdough and salad were magnificent. Truly the best meal we’ve had in a long time and the best at Bowood! The manager, Veronica, delighted us with gifts of freshly baked strawberry pop tarts and a brownie. The blueberry pancakes as dessert was Wowsa! Simply the best meal!

MJ and I went this place to celebrate our anniversary. The decor was interesting. A nursery for plastic flowers and maybe some real ones is where you enter. Then you go to the restaurant. MJ had been there before and loved the food. It was very good. I had a big burger with a lot of fries. She had a reuben sabwhich with fries. Both were excellent. Another place that serves good food.

We visited Bowood by Niche with ladies from the STL Ladies Brunch Group, and the experience was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The atmosphere is stunning—bright, airy, and filled with charm thanks to its beautiful attached plant shop. It was the perfect cozy escape on a cold and icy day. The service? Impeccable. The staff handled our large group with such grace and friendliness, which only made the experience better. As for the food—wow. I ordered the Maryland Crab Benedict and it was perfection. Rich, flavorful, and beautifully plated. I also snuck a few bites of the French toast bread pudding and can confirm it was absolutely dreamy. If you’re looking for a brunch spot with gorgeous vibes, thoughtful dishes, and warm hospitality—Bowood by Niche is a must. ✨ Follow me for more STL brunch adventures, hidden gems, and foodie favorites! #TheSassySaint #BowoodByNiche #STLBrunch #BrunchGoals #StLouisEats #FoodieFinds #STLLadiesBrunchGroup

Yelp
I first came here the week after Christmas - so not that long ago! I came with my daughters and loved everything about our experience. When I told my husband about it, he said he wanted to check it out, so we went and had brunch today. Again, I loved everything about it! Even though my meal was so good last time, I decided to try something different and it did not disappoint! I had the Maryland Crab Cake Benedict last time and my husband got that today. I got the Breakfast Sandwich and it was delicious. I think I ate just a little more than half of it and I was so full - the sandwich is big! And again, the service was top notch h We walked around the greenhouse/shop afterward. It's a cool place to spend some time!

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place for a while now so when it popped up on my brunch ladies list I was excited to attend. Parking is limited but it is shared with another company and street parking is available as well. Outside dining is available on a warmer day . Upon walking in , it reminds me of a plant/flower nursery. Big open well lit floor plan. Plenty of flowers, pottery items , home decor pieces to purchase. Classes and workshops are offered as well. I attached the January board and days/hrs open. Seating area is opposite the nursery and plenty of tables to sit and be comfortable. Matthew C . Was our server. Very friendly and helpful. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap . It was kinda dry but once I opened it and just ate from the inside of the wrap it was pretty good. I probably should have just ordered the salad instead. I got a fruit bowl which consisted of blackberries, blueberries and oranges. It was ok. I ordered for a drink perfect pear. It was strong and delicious. Others ordered sweater weather for a drink and a quiche. Bread pudding French toast . All food came fresh to order. I really enjoyed the ambiance and the experience.

Yelp
Overly hyped for no reason. Service was scant. Our waiter took a while to take our orders and even after he did we had a wait for our waters. My brother ordered a coffee that never came until we had to remind him and by then it came at the end of our meal. "Strawberry" waffle is laughable. It is just a singular waffle with a handful of strawberrys on top. The turkey sandwich was standard. Salty and lacked flavor, and dry as you can imagine. The food left us desiring more. For how much you pay, you don't receive in food or service, so I guess you're just paying for the ambiance and a place for all their unsold plants.

Yelp
One of my favorite brunch spots in STL! If you love plants and romantic vibes, this is the place for you. It is beautifully decorated with delicious food and a greenhouse attached, what more could you ask for!

Yelp
I was excited to finally make it here and it did not disappoint!! They really take pride and it shows at every level. Service was attentive and personable. Anthony was fantastic and he really knew the menu. The attached Farm, patio and DIning room were all very pretty and relaxing. It was a rainy day so we had to dine inside but I was not disappointed because even though we were inside they make it feel like you are dining on the patio surrounded by the lush farm. I honestly was not able to narrow down the "Star" of the meal!! Everything was that good. The Cacio e Pepe eggs were so light, creamy and decadent! I also haven't had a truly fluffier pancake and it was stuffed and covered with Blueberries! I can't wait to dine again!!!

Yelp
We came here on this Sunday with the STL Ladies Brunch group. Matthew was our server & his service was amazing and personable for our table. He was knowledgeable with the menu and able to assist us in narrowing down what to order especially when it came to the drink menu. My friend ordered the perfect pear which is the venue's own version of a margarita and I ordered the Sweater weather coffee drink. I was pleased with my quiche order and the portion was just right. Quiche had a flakey buttery crust and the broccoli to cheese and egg custard ratio was spot on. Glad to see vegetarian/ pescatarian options & plan to return.

Yelp
I am in love with the environment. It is so welcoming and the natural light and plants made me feel like l was eating in an indoor garden. The cacio e pepe eggs met expectations that we now try to cook our eggs this way at home. Yum! The burger is a good burger. When you know, you know. They are paired with good fries. A perfect place for a date or time with friends.

Yelp
If you're looking for an aesthetic and yummy place to grab brunch, I definitely recommend Bowood!! I've been here a couple times and have always had a lovely experience . The space is split as a half restaurant half plant shop which makes it so lively! I really suggest getting a reservation beforehand and requesting a booth seat since it's so pretty. I came here with a friend for brunch on a Friday an hour before closing and the workers were very accommodating! We wanted to split the egg toast ($18) and maryland crab benedict ($25) and they were given to us on separate plates for easy sharing. I've never had a restaurant do this before so this was really nice. Our waitress also recommended the french toast bread pudding and cacio e pepe eggs which both sounded tasty! I will need to come back!! At the end of our meal we were given free postcards which is such a personal touch. We walked around the plant shop after and found the cutest plant at a reasonable price. Again I love dining here, the experience is always top tier :)

Yelp
Cute brunch place with a plant store attached to it kind of in the middle of nowhere by CWE. The whole aesthetic is very earthy yet polished. The restaurant side is not very big, but it was packed when I was there on a Monday, including the bar. The plant side had a wide variety of options for greenery, pots, seeds, and decor. The high ceilings make the place feel very spacious. There is street parking available. Was seated quickly and got the eggs benedict and it was so delicious! The eggs were runny and perfectly cooked. I would say that I wish there was more soughdough bread to egg ratio. The bread gives it a bit more "substance" and it was nearly soaked through by the time I got my plate. Also the potatos... way exceeded by expectations. Not sure how they make them, but they were super crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. There's bits of the crunch floating around and it was all seasoned properly. SO GOOD. Salad was very fresh. Each table also had some condiments, including jam. Prices are a little higher than average, in my opinion, but I think the quality is worth it. Service was very friendly. Would love to return!

Yelp
First time here and we will be coming back! I had the classic breakfast and the ginger molasses cookie. Both were phenomenal. My over medium eggs were perfect. Our service was excellent! We sat on the patio and with the blankets and heaters we stayed plenty warm. We are looking forward to returning ASAP!

Yelp
This place is amazing!! We opted to sit outside in the nursery area and it was perfect! But the inside also was extremely cute. The service was quick and our server was kind. They checked on us frequently but weren't intrusive by any means. And the FOOD! The food was AMAZING. the whole experience was so fun and such a welcomed brunch date without kids. I did ask if they had a kids menu though and they do! Which made me excited to go back one day with the kids!

Yelp
I was visiting family in St. Louis and wanted to try brunch here. I have been to the plant portion of the store, but not the restaurant. I made brunch reservations a few weeks in advance because I know how quickly they can get booked! They have a parking lot but if that is full you can park on the street. When we checked in they asked if we preferred indoor or patio seating. We choose the patio and the outdoor area is super cute!! Bowood has a fairly small menu, but everything looked good. I decided to try a Watermelon Lemonade while my friend got the Blackberry one. And Wow! They were both really good! They were pretty busy so our server took awhile to get us drinks and water. For food, I got the Caesar Chicken wrap with fries and a side of ranch, my friend got the Grain Bowl (minus the honey) and a side of bacon. My sister got the classic breakfast! Everything tasted very fresh and flavorful. I also asked our server if I could get a pumpkin muffin to go (they bake pasties daily and once they are out they are out). I managed the grab the last one!! That was also moist and fresh. I love this restaurant and wish they had dinner options! I would absolutely go back- overall experience 5/5.

Yelp
Awesome food. One of the best pastrami sandwiches I've had in the city. I would have liked the bread to be a tad bit softer but it was still good. I will definitely order again. The French toast was great, I would suggest sharing if you decide to order it. The waitress was nice as well.
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
Great ambience here! The crab Benedict was a bit too salty for our taste buds, we preferred regular eggs Benedict more! Potatoes were perfect!! Coffee was good too, but a bit overpriced at $9/cup.
google avatar

Jasmine S.

Yelp
Grand space with friendly service. Our large tables ordered lots of dishes, the breakfast sandwich and blueberry pancake was the favorite. The grain bowl, and the chicken Caesar salad wrap were okay. The French toast bread pudding was good but better to be shared as a group rather than enjoyed by 1 person. We didn't like our burger or fries at all really. The matcha latte was so watered down we sent it back.
google avatar

Tina W.

Yelp
I got the grilled cheese with added bacon and potato and leek soup. The grilled cheese was delicious but very greasy. It has lots of yummy cheese on the inside and crispy cheese on the outside of the bread as well. The potato and leek soup was amazing. Great flavor and super creamy. I would definitely get the soup again. Service was very friendly. The inside and outside of this restaurant are both amazing. The inside is so cute and has a plant shop as well. The outside has amazing flowers and foliage all around.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a weekday. I was able to easily make reservations online which was great! They have a small parking lot across from the restaurant, but it was full. Wish there was more free parking offered. Plenty of paid street parking up and down the street though. Very cute restaurant and dining experience. Lots of beautiful flowers inside and outside the space. They have an indoor seating area as well as an outdoor patio! Service was quick and the staff was very friendly. Love the options for non-meat eaters. I tried the pancakes, vegan sausage and breakfast potatoes. The pancakes were nice and airy. Had a good serving of potatoes, I do wish they had more seasoning on them. . Overall, really enjoyed my dining experience here and can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Bliss. Solo brunch on a saturday was absolute bliss. I have been wanting to try bowood for ages, but it had just never ended up working out with friends or my partner so I finally decided to just run it solo. Wow, I have been missing out. The space is beautiful. So much natural light permeates the space and the plants lining the interior make it so calming and inviting. Ben was my server and they were spectacular. Kind, inviting, and fantastic service. I got a Yacht Club to start. One thing about Niche food group s it seems most of their restaurants are riffs on either classics or modern classics. This is a riff on a Bermuda Yacht Club. They perfected it turning it into a brunch drink. Rum, lime, curacao, and soda water. Light, refreshing, while still maintaining the essence of tiki. The reuben is superb. The rye is great. The pastrami salty. The sauerkraut tangy. The russian dressing rich. An all around super sandwich. Enough tang to offset the saltiness. I was in heave. I a kicking myself for eating it too fast and not sowing down to enjoy it. The fries by Niche food group are incredible. Shoe strings that are perfectly crispy and salted to perfection. I could eat truck loads. Bowood was a superb experience. A lovely space with some incredible fare. I want to get back and sit at the bar. They are as comfortable making a cappucino as they are an old fashioned.
google avatar

Samantha K.

Yelp
ALERT: This place's reuben sandwich will ruin all other reubens for you in the best way! I am a sandwich snob and this baby and its delicious French fry friends knocked my damn socks off. The meat is made in-house and it shows! We also loved our giant blueberry pancake and delicious, fresh blackberry lemonade. The vibes are also, of course, immaculate, and our server Anthony was awesome and knew a ton about each item on the menu, helping too guide us towards his favorites when we asked. We will absolutely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Just a great idea to get brunch at Bowood on a Saturday. It's the middle of the summer. The restaurant/ green house is slightly warm. Yet, the ambience and service is still wonderful. My favorite part of Bowood is the lovely healthy plants in the restaurant. I ordered the egg benedict that comes with a light salad and potatoes. The egg benedict is served on a piece of sourdough bread. The egg is perfectly cooked that is served alongside hollandaise sauce. I had such a lovely time.
google avatar

Ali P.

Yelp
Great service and wonderful ambiance! The pastries are delicious and overall the food was decent! The fries and potatoes were great. Loved the space and restaurant.
google avatar

Ebuwa E.

Yelp
Anthony, our server was amazing! He's immensely knowledgeable about the menu, and made excellent recommendations based on our dining preferences. We dined on the patio, nestled between beautiful blooms and rolling vines. I ordered the egg toast, breakfast potatoes and a buttermilk pancake. Listen... photos do not do this dish justice. If you're not a fan of soft scrambled eggs, swallow your doubt and give this dish a try. The eggs nestle nicely on a couple of slices of brioche toast, which soaks up the chive oil just right. The potatoes are the right mix of crisp and tender, and hold their shape quite well. I like the choice of baby potatoes (?fingerlings) in lieu of a diced cut - you get a lot of surface area for crisp magic. On to the pancake - I'm told that they are laced with whipped egg whites and finished in an oven. So good! Please dine here - you'll love it!

Yelp
Brunch is a meal that is ubiquitous, always filling and comforting, but a meal that is hard to reliably produce with finesse and excellence without being overdone. Time and time again Bowood accomplishes this elusive task by perfecting their basics and adding seasonal treasures that perfectly complement the existing menu. The food: The blueberry pancakes are phenomenal. Crisp on the outside, fluffy, and not too sweet. They are BIG. A regular order comes with two but I would definitely stick with ordering just one (with a side). The strawberry waffle has such a prominent taste of vanilla and even after sitting under whipped cream and strawberries for a time didn't lose its crisp. Light and sweet this is definitely a lighter option than the pancake but still hits that "sweet" breakfast spot. Since the crab Benedict made the appearance on the menu I struggle to order anything else. I can say with confidence that this crab cake is easily on par to ones I grew up with oceanside. It is fresh, well seasoned with crab as the first, second and third ingredient. Unlike a typical Benedict it is lighter, served without the traditional English muffin. I always order the shoestring fries as a side with this light and fresh option. Our server used the perfect word for the grilled cheese: decadent. It is not only a combination of three cheese inside but also apparently fried in a cheese butter... yes, cheese butter. It is absolutely grilled cheese perfection. Crispy, gooey, and just the right level of salty. You can ask for them to put bacon and an egg on it for the breakfast sandwich of your dreams. Soup? For breakfast? This soup, absolutely. I will say, I'm a soup person. Maybe if you're not a soup person this breakfast option isn't for you, try it for lunch though . It's creamy, with a hint of a kick, and pairs beautifully with that grilled cheese. The dollop of crema on top adds a velvety, smooth feeling as it slowly melds with the soup. No oil. No separation. Just delicious. I have made my way through the menu many times, whatever you order, you will not be disappointed. If there is a menu item I would reliably skip it's the breakfast potatoes, the shoestring fries are significantly better. Don't sleep on their pastry cabinet. All made in house and exceptionally seasonal. Next time you're thinking of grabbing just a pastry and a coffee pop in and order at the counter! The setting: Bowoods setting is picturesque, definitely instaworthy, and perfectly for any occasion. Don't miss their outdoor garden. The service: Excellent every time; no notes. The hostesses are composed and organized, even during clearly their busiest periods and my servers have always been attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Extremely on-it with my allergies. I really appreciate their professionalism and care.

Yelp
Bowood by Niche was very popular on a weekday for lunch. The interior is beautiful with lots of plants to the side of the restaurant and good lighting. Very attentive waitstaff. I think unfortunately the food was just ok. It was pricey; I got the classic breakfast ($15) which was average. The eggs were cooked over easy very prettily but the potatoes and toast were bland. Maybe other items on the menu would've been more flavorful

Yelp
Truly a one of a kind of place! My expectations were exceeded by a long shot. Bowood by Niche has been on my list of places to try for quite some time, I've heard great things for over a year. I made reservations because I've heard its a hopping spot to get into, I'm sure glad I did as it was exactly that. I accidently made it for 2 meaning to reserve a table for 3, online reservations were so packed I couldn't modify my reservation. I called to see if I could make the update over the phone, the employee who answered was super helpful, understanding and generously made the change for me. Upon arriving I'm not sure if I was more excited to shop or eat. The atmosphere is like no other; a kind of greenhouse tea party. Magical. We were sat right away and had water and menus waiting for us. Our waitress was very friendly and personable, so mush so that the others at the table complemented her immensely. Their drink menu is as elaborate as the food options, what you'd imagine for a brunch/lunch spot but unique enough to make them stand out from the rest. Our table ordered a variety of drinks; latte, fresh squeezed orange juice and sparkling tea, everyone was very pleased. Food was super fresh, freshly made and portions were generous. Maryland Crab Benedict was divine, Breakfast Sandwich was huge and the Chicken Caesar Wrap hit the spot. Ordered a Cosmic Brownie to go to take home and then immediately rebooked another reservation to return with my husband!

Yelp
A quick little lunch during the workday brought me here. It's such a bright environment that transports you to a fun brunch no matter the day. The service was quick and attentive throughout. I appreciated that our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and offered suggestions. I had the french toast bread pudding which was simultaneously delicious and indulgent. I definitely didn't need the entire piece given the sweetness but I couldn't put it down. I definitely suggest ordering but recommend sharing with the table. I will absolutely be back.

Yelp
A cute cafe in a flower/garden shop. We made a reservation on a Saturday morning and were seated immediately. I ordered an oat milk latte and Cacio e Pepe eggs. The eggs were very flavorful but not overpowering! I appreciate how creative the menu is. The space is very beautiful and open.
google avatar

Yelp
Food is incredible!! Highly recommend bringing guests here. Only thing is, if you didn't make a reservation weeks in advance on a Sunday, be prepared to wait for around an hour for a party of 3.
google avatar

MaryAnn B.

Yelp
Had a wonderful lunch in this bright and unique restaurant. Unique in that your initial encounter with this dining room is a look at the lush and beautiful garden shop. Nice menu with typical but well prepared burgers, sandwiches, salads and soups and some heartier entrees. Bar menu as well. Service was pleasant and accommodating. After your meal, walk through the beautiful garden shop where you can purchase plants and garden accessories. Open for lunch only and reservations are taken.

Yelp
The lovely atmosphere of this place is the BEST part of it! And then the cocktails and food are delicious too! Aaaaaand, brunch is my favorite meal of ANY. I was with a Book Club group and we were able to hold a conversation and hear each other which is SO nice, because we've been to some places where it's not possible... The service was impeccable and I would encourage one and all to check this place out.

Yelp
I came to Bowood for late lunch with my friend. Visiting from New York! Service was friendly and our waiter Anthony was knowledgeable and recommended local restaurants for me to try. We shared the cacio e Pepe eggs with greens and sourdough toast, buttermilk pancakes with blueberries, and fingerling potatoes. The star of the show was the Buttermilk Pancakes which were fluffy, melts in your mouth, and partnered perfectly with the blueberries! Beautiful ambiance with orchids, holiday decorated mini trees, and beautiful natural lighting. Apparently this is a historic building and used to be a car shop. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My friend and I met at Bowood for brunch last weekend. We made a reservation for 12:45 (highly recommend a reservation) and were seated around 12:55. I was very excited for the weather to be so nice, because we were able to sit out in the courtyard which was perfection. Our server was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. This time I ordered a classic breakfast with eggs, toast, potatoes and vegan sausage. Everything was so delicious. Those potatoes were crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside (not to mention perfect temperature). One little thing I really appreciated is that they had small jars of my favorite brand of jelly (Bonne Maman)! This was excellent on the toast and really made my day to see. Our drinks were refreshing (I loved the NA options) and the food was just delicious. My friend had never been before, so she was really impressed with the freshness and flavors. Everything is presented to nicely and honestly, this is a great brunch spot.

Yelp
5 stars all around including ambiance, service, food and drink selection. Amazing menu with some fabulous homemade options including homemade sausage and scones(these are to die for!). Waffles and Cacio e pepe eggs were standout. I really loved the Bonne Marie jelly on each table as this is my favorite. My drink selections were so difficult due to a wide variety of coffees, liquors, NA drinks and even flavored lemonade. I opted for a latte and Watermelon NA 57 because I could not make up my mind. Our server Anthony was very professional, did not rush us, and was just overall an amazing server. Loved the adjoining plant shop as well. This is a must try and must re-visit!

Yelp
First of all, the place is absolutely gorgeous! The plants everywhere are just beautiful, and for sale! However, it's pretty overpriced, hence the one star reduction. However the food was pretty delicious! I got the crab cake Benedict, which I was happy to find out didn't have any bread under the crab cakes, the crab cakes were the bread! So healthy and delicious! The morning mimosa was delicious too, yet, like the plants, I thought the food and drinks were a little overpriced as well. All-in-all, I really like this place, and will be returning!!!

Yelp
I can't speak highly enough about Bowood. The patio is beautiful. The service was outstanding. My boyfriend even mentioned how good our server was when we were wrapping up. The food is so delicious. My boyfriend got the turkey sandwich, seriously the best one I've had in a long time! I had the eggs Benedict, it was so good. The hollandaise wasn't like any I've ever had, it was fluffy and had a bit of a lemon flavor. The prosciutto on it is the perfect touch!

Yelp
This place is heaven and deserves 10 stars. Walk into a beautiful garden oasis, simple artwork, fresh flowers on the table, and the most delicious menu you've ever set eyes on. Today, on a work trip we stopped in for lunch. Service was friendly and attentive. I had the cacio e Pepe eggs. Easily the best eggs I've ever had in my life. My coworkers loved their choices as well. We left stuffed and happy. If you visit St. L- make a trip here.

Yelp
I was so excited that another restaurant by Niche was opened. My husband and I were back in St. Louis for a friend's wedding and we had to try this place. I was pretty disappointed. The brownie tasted like the cheap Little Debbie brownies. The vegan breakfast sandwich was soooooo heavy, we couldn't finish it. The eggs Benedict were standard. The bread pudding and fries were the best part of the meal. The restaurant was super duper busy, so expect a wait. This is probably one of the lower end of restaurants by Niche. I would encourage people to try the other restaurants owned by the same person.

Yelp
Lovely place for brunch. Amazing setting with the plants everywhere. They make a LOT of brunches here and are very efficient in what they do. Standard fare on the attempting to be upscale level. My eggs Bennedict was lovely - asked form smoked salmon instead of the meat. We had a table of 9 people and the server was amazing to keep all the orders going.

Yelp
My husband and I were exploring Central West End when we came across this gem of a restaurant. We decided to stop in to eat and were pleasantly surprised. As you enter, there is a huge area with plants and other gardening supplies and merchandise. We had a 20 minute wait for a table. But, that was just enough time to walk through the shop and into the back areas with more plants for sale. We sat in the patio area which was lovely. Babs was our waitress and she was great! She explained the menu options and answered our questions about the history of the restaurant and the building. I ordered the Grain Bowl which was delicious! Wheat berries, arugula, sweet potato, brussel sprouts and more! My husband ordered the Reuben which was made with their house-made pastrami and came with shoe string fries. He also enjoyed his meal. We will be back!

Yelp
Had an opportunity to try Bowood for brunch recently on a trip to St Louis. While we didn't have a reservation we were able to be seated within 45 minutes. I'd recommend a reservation on the weekend (we went on a Friday during a holiday weekend). There were some really delicious sounding options but I chose the Squash soup and a side salad for lunch. The squash soup was good but I didn't taste the mascarpone or the Calabrian chili. I think I'd like more flavor for those to come out. The salad was good but I found that I didn't get enough food because the bowl seemed more like a cup of soup size. The others in my party ordered the eggs Benedict and they liked it, the fries were so much with everything else that the Benedict receives that I was fortunate to be able to have some of those to fill up. Fries were thin, crispy and salty enough that I really enjoyed them. Service was great and the location was so fun being a greenhouse and restaurant in one. I'd give Bowood a try again but order something that was more filling.

Yelp
Perfect greeting by the staff and the best high chairs. Food came out in a timely manner. My sandwich was super cheesy but I knew this but I still wasn't ready. I think I should have added tomatoes for a little acid and kick. Huge side serving of fruit and fries for my toddler who ate them up. Husband's Reuben was pretty good.

Yelp
This place is not like any other thing you have ever been to. The food is amazing. The service is impeccable. The nursery attached is a breath of something you need in your life.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went to Bowood for a celebratory brunch. As always, the food never misses. I had the pancakes and he had the cauliflower wrap. Hands down, these are the best pancakes I have ever had. They were so fluffy and moist! A 10/10. Make sure you bring your appetite too because they are huge! The service was also great. Our waiter was attentive and provided great food recommendations. Additionally, I love Bowood's plant/restaurant ambience. Not only were we able to grab a few gardening tools but we got great food in the process. I recommend if you're looking for a cute, casual brunch. I've gone multiple times and will continue to frequent the establishment.

Yelp
Sierra here, welcoming you to another graceful day, not just any day, but my birthday! I celebrated at a little piece of botanical heaven in the city, Bowood By Niche. The entrance was refreshingly modern, with bright, earthy tones that set a delightful mood. The staff was amiable, making the experience even more special. I indulged in the Maryland Crab Benedict while my dashing gentleman enjoyed the classic Eggs Benedict. I couldn't resist a morning cocktail, and their Morning Margaritas were so delightful that I'd never feel guilty about day drinking again. The service was impeccable, and the ambiance indeed pleased this elegant lady. Until the next meal, you know you love me. XOXO, Sierra

Yelp
Attached to a plant nursery, this breakfast and lunch spot is open daily from 9am-3pm. There is a full bar with coffee and pastries available for separate purchase, while shopping. Inside the actual restaurant is adorable with an outside patio. There is limited seating so a reservation is highly recommended, which can be made on their website! Not only is the atmosphere great here, but the food as well. Everything tastes very fresh, which I love. The Cacio e pepe is a great light option: with eggs, a sourdough slice, & a mixed green salad dressed in their house vinaigrette. Versus the pancakes, my friend claimed they were the best he's ever had. Both fluffy and dense, very tasty as well. My favorite is the housemade pork sausage which has such great flavor! Perfect place to come for a bite to eat with friends or family.

Yelp
Had a lovely brunch here this morning with family. All the ingredients are fresh and the restaurant has adorable decor. I loved all the plants and greenery decorating the place. My London fog latte was very good, but my egg toast wasn't my favorite as it was very rich and could have used a lighter element to it. Next time I think I'll get the cacio e Pepe eggs!
