Gulf Coast style Seafood Bar & Grill with an intimate dining room and expansive patio along the Atlanta Beltline
"Breaker Breaker’s backyard cookout vibe, flip-flop-wearing diners, and massive outdoor patio make it a perfect hangout for dog people who’ve just come from the Eastside Beltline. This Reynoldstown spot makes crispy fried fish platters with some of the thickest, tastiest tartar sauce around. Their wedge fries are crispy and heavily seasoned, and the juicy grouper sandwich is so big it spills out of the soft bun with a pleasantly spicy kick." - jacinta howard, nina reeder, juli horsford
"For a chill atmosphere, cheap drinks, and cool breezes, hit up Floridaman, a weekend-only rooftop bar above Breaker Breaker on the Eastside Beltline. If you don’t get here right when they open, be prepared to hear “at capacity” and wait up to an hour. But once you're upstairs, welcomed by lush plants, fake parakeets, and wicker lighting fixtures, the relaxed bar will feel worth the wait. Some of the Breaker Breaker menu is available but the delicious pressed Cuban sandwich, packed with ham, chicken, salami, and swiss, is unique to upstairs. Sip on a mango and lime boozy slushie, or score with the white wine—you get the entire Bota Box (that’s roughly three glasses) for just 12 bucks. photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Amy Sinclair Food Rundown photo credit: Amy Sinclair The Floridaman The pressed cubano is good enough to make a trip here just for this sandwich—packed with sliced ham, chicken, salami, and swiss. photo credit: Amy Sinclair Boozie Slushie (Seasonal) The boozie slushie comes in flavors like mango-lime and is heavy on the booze. It’s refreshing on swampy summer days." - Jacinta Howard
"Straddling the line between Inman Park and Reynoldstown, Breaker Breaker is where to go when your group wants great seafood in an environment that compels you to stretch your legs, soak up some sunshine, and destress. While you watch the Beltline trees sway from the wide patio, you can tear into a crispy fish platter with thick, tasty tartar sauce. Their wedge fries are crackly and well-seasoned. And the spicy grouper sandwich, which is so huge it spills out of the soft bun, has a pleasantly spicy kick. Plus, you can also head upstairs to Flordidaman to sip on a boozy mango-lime slushie and extend your hang time. photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Amy Sinclair Food Rundown Blackened Grouper Sandwich This is big messy sandwich is one of our favorite things to get. "Whether it’s sunny or cloudy, you’ll find folks at the long booths overlooking the Beltline trail, which always gives Breaker Breaker a backyard cookout vibe. While the loungey atmosphere is a plus, the real draw is the seafood. Dig into a spicy, juicy grouper sandwich, so big it spills out of the soft bun, and enjoy it at the counter bar where you can chat with your flip-flop-wearing neighbor or people-watch the constant bustle of the Beltline from a safe distance. For extra kicks, head upstairs to the rooftop bar, Floridaman. It’s a fun, cheery place to kill a few hours, with a tropical vibe, affordable boxed wine, and delicious Cuban sandwich. "Backed by the team behind Grindhouse Killer Burgers, think of Breaker Breaker as an Eastside trail respite, where people roll up for a blackened grouper sandwich or fried fish basket paired with a frozen drink or spritzy cocktail. Chef Maximilian Hines, founder of supper club Stolen Goods, leads the kitchen and carries the coastal theme throughout the menu. Look for everything from Gulf fish ceviche and smoked fish dish to a smoked fish melt, and vegan crab cakes. The latter is one of Hines’s signature dishes (a previous iteration was vegan fried calamari). The vegan crab cakes are made with mushrooms, hearts of palm, and a vegan remoulade. Head upstairs for a vibey coastal bar, Floridaman, which opened this summer." - Eater Staff
