"Brooklyn Farmacy does not make their own ice cream, which would normally disqualify it from this list. But this Carroll Gardens soda counter in an old apothecary shop is arguably the most pleasant atmosphere to eat a giant sundae, so we’ll give them a pass. Plus, those sundaes—there are 12 specialty combos—are built with Adirondack Creamery’s excellent, velvety ice cream. "You might think Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain is a place for kids, but it's so much more. With a selection of sundaes, waffles, ice cream floats and egg creams, there is surely something at Brooklyn Farmacy for everyone. We love going to Brooklyn Farmacy with a group of friends. They have a great selection of board games and don't frown upon a group of adults holing up and spending hours in their establishment. Pro tip, go for dinner! "The building that houses Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain was actually pharmacy, back in the 1920s. After being closed for decades, the space was restored and reopened in 2010, retaining some of its old-school charm and a few relics from the original. Sundaes come in a variety of flavors for around $16, topped with ingredients like shortcake, peanut butter, potato chips, and hot fudge, most of which are made in-house. But during the winter, their hot cocoa topped with toasted marshmallow fluff is the main draw. You come to this soda fountain in Carroll Gardens for an embarrassingly large ice cream sundae with pretzel rods sticking out of its sides.
