"Located on the outskirts of downtown, Bucharest Grill is serving some of Detroit’s favorite chicken shawarma. The local chain is often busy during peak lunch and dinner hours, so call ahead to ensure a shorter wait." - Serena Maria Daniels
"Detroit’s fast-growing chain Bucharest Grill returned to its roots on Friday with the opening of its downtown location. The restaurant, which got its start as a carryout counter inside the Park Bar, left the city’s arena district more than two years ago much to the disappointment of sports fans and downtown lunch crowds. While owner Bogdan Tarasov opened a galaxy of new locations around the city, he kept an eye on downtown real estate and eventually made a move to buy a building on the border of the evolving entertainment district. The newly opened Bucharest Grill is located at 436 W. Columbia St. Fittingly the restaurant is also the largest in Bucharest’s fleet with approximately 130 seats and a 24-tap bar — a first for the chain. The restaurant features the Bucharest Grill staples including Bucharest shawarma, falafel wraps, schnitzel plates, and eggplant dip. There’s also a small oven on site, which opens up the possibility for Bucharest to offer late-night pizzas or fresh pita bread." - Brenna Houck
"Several years after its departure from the Park Bar, Detroit’s popular chicken shawarma slinger Bucharest Grill is preparing to return to the downtown’s arena district tonight. Owner Bogdan Tarasov confirms to Eater that the restaurant, located at 436 W. Columbia St., has secured licensing and will debut at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 19. At 130 seats, the downtown location of Bucharest will be the casual Detroit-based chain’s largest restaurant to date." - Brenna Houck
"Downtown Detroit customers lamented the departure of Bucharest from the Park Bar back in 2016. The mini chain has expanded to multiple standalone restaurants throughout Detroit since then, but the newest location heading to Columbia Street will bring Bucharest back to its roots of serving sports fans near Detroit’s major stadiums. It’s also on track to be the first location with a bar." - Brenna Houck
