"I report that Bucharest Grill has returned to downtown’s arena district at 436 W. Columbia St.; owner Bogdan Tarasov confirmed the restaurant secured licensing and debuted at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 19. At 130 seats, this downtown location is the chain’s largest to date and introduces a bar with approximately 21 different beers pouring from 24 taps, featuring local and regional breweries such as Batch Brewing Company, Bell’s, Brew Detroit, and Atwater alongside domestics like Budweiser and Miller. The counter-service space retains Bucharest’s familiar look with blonde wood, black brick, and subway tile, and offers a mix of bar seating, tables, and booths plus a large garage-door-style front window. On the menu are the usual chicken shawarma, falafel wraps, schnitzel plates, and eggplant dip, and the new spot includes a special bread oven that may be used to bake fresh pita or possibly late-night homestyle pizzas; the Columbia Street location will stay open late until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays." - Brenna Houck
