Bucharest Bar & Grill

So sad, not been to Detroit for 13 years, fond memories of this buisness in Park Bar so found its new location. Ordered the Shawarma Box and a soda. This was only like an hour and a half after a Lions game. The curly fries were warm and fried to a crisp. The Shawarma was stone cold. Sure its supposed to be at least warm, preferably hot! Very Dissapointed.

A great Detroit chain with good food. We came before a show in Detroit. It was busy as there was a ball game too but worth it. The service is good. They are fast and friendly enough for Detroit. The food is why you're here. The portions are large, it's delicious, and it's reasonably priced. I highly recommended Bucharest.

One of Detroits top tier bar/restaurants. To be as close as it is to big attractions and other establishments, thee best/lowest prices and most friendly staff. The amount of people that cycle through this place and how efficiently they get people through is incredible. Great work Bucharest!!

I always like to eat at Bucharest... Today however, the restaurant was not very cool inside, and it was a very hot day, as we had been outside most of the afternoon... the food took a bit longer than usual, but was very tasty & the portions are generous too. The manager was very nice & turned the air up upon our request.

Stop in After attending a comedy show, I ordered chicken Shawarma salad it was under 5 minutes that I got my food ,got it home It was fresh hot just how I expected it to be.

In Detroit for 2 nights and was looking for a spot to eat around my hotel - luckily I found Bucharest through Google Maps. The food was really good - I got the salad with chicken shawarma - the portion was insane! I didn’t take a picture but there was so much chicken (and I got the “small” size) It was really tasty and juicy and with the side of garlic sauce it really hit my cravings. The bartender (I sat at the bar) was super nice, friendly and awesome yet respectful and in general everyone out here seemed really welcoming. Prices were very fair and affordable (got 2 drinks as well) Overall a very good and tasty experience and I’ll definitely come back here on my next visit to Detroit. Keep up the good work!

Bucharest Grill has never disappointed us whenever we have gone there. Their food is top notch, delicious, and reasonably priced. Service is good, as well. Parking can be fun, tho....

This was my first time to visit any of the Bucharest Grill locations. I got the Shwarma Box with chicken. It was a generous serving packed with great flavor. I was going to save 1/2 for later but it was so good, I ate the whole thing. They also have a good selection of local sodas. The prices are very reasonable making this a great value and perfect place to eat before attending a concert or game downtown Detroit.

I ordered salads at the Livernois location and when I got home, the chicken was burned on the salad. I called and spoke to the Manager, Micah (hope I spelled her name correctly). Although I was pissed and did not want to drive back to the restaurant to replace the food, she convinced me to come back. She personally fixed my replacement order, and even asked if I needed my elder Mother's salad to be cut up for easier consumption. It was my pleasure meeting this young lady, she was professional and very accommodating!

We stopped here for dinner before a show at the Fisher because I knew it would be quicker than typical sit-down service. I'm so glad we did! The ambiance was fun and friendly. As someone who easily gets anxiety ordering at new places, I felt perfectly at ease here. I love that they offered Detroit sodas but also had Coke products. (I was a big fan of the Detroit root beer and lemonade.) Ordering was easy. Staff were polite when bringing the food to the table. I sat in a booth and wish I had snapped a picture but they're high-top booths and I looooove that they have a bar for your feet/a footrest. Sometimes my body doesn't like my feet dangling for too long but this was perfect and I was comfortable for the entire meal. I ordered "shoestring fries" and they looked completely normal size, not skinny. They were delicious nonetheless! I tried the curly fries and they were also yummy! Shawarma sandwiches were pretty messy. Don't unwrap the whole thing from the foil or else the goods will drop out of the bottom of the pita. I also wish I had snagged a fork before I sat down. Overall, it was awesome and I look forward to stopping by again in the near future.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon on a recent trip, and I tried the Bucharest shawarma box. Different mix of flavors from what I think of with a gyro, stronger garlic and pickle profile than I expected. It was a very good value for the amount of food. The one thing that was troublesome, people who were coming in, placing to go orders at the register, they were getting their food much faster than the people who were going to eat in the restaurant. The guy who came in to order right after me, his food was out 10 minutes before mine - I could maybe understand if they were waiting for my fries to cook, but judging by their temp when they reached the table, that wasn't the case.

This place never disappoints! The flavors are on point, the portions are large and more importantly the prices are amazing. It's not necessary easy to get a beer to enjoy with middle eastern cuisine, and that's another reason why we like to come to the Bucharest Grill.

I came to Detroit for a one nighter and was looking for thing different. Got recommended this place and OMG it was delicious. I had a simple meal (chicken shawarma) and curly fries. I thought it was simple until I took that first bite. The chicken was flavored perfectly and juicy too! The fries were crispy and moist. Plus they had Detroit style pop which was good. The ladies behind the register were friendly and took care of me and my team. Definitely coming back!

I order from this location all the time from work 110 Piquette Ave, Detroit, MI 48202. But I order from home on 02/19/25 and my Salad came to 15.70 dollars for a house salad and this is what I get. I have tried to make a complaint before on an order I called and was told the Manager was not able to come to the phone because he was busy. Not professional at all and the staff is very rude

So yummy and delivered on time in the rain by Grubhub. Win! If you haven't tried the Nikki salad - try it. It's my favorite. So simple and so tasty - warm cabbage tossed in house dressing with feta and grilled chicken. I could eat this everyday. I also really like their sticks - like longer, neater versions of their shawarma pitas. A little easier to eat and very decently priced; perfect if you're more on the go. They have curly fires and I love that. Their garlic sauce is also milder than others, in a good way. Like, it's not overpowering with raw garlic taste. Pretty fast, pretty friendly, no complaints from me. You can't go wrong with Bucharest.

This is a great spot to pick up some quick food that also tastes delicious. This was the one spot that was recommended to me by multiple people. The staff was very nice and she told me her recommendations as well. We wanted to try the chicken and lamb shawarma which she was able to combine for us. We liked how there was a lot of garlic in the sauce and the chicken and lamb was delicious. They were soft and cooked very well. For a quick grab and go spot, this is great!

I ordered Bucharest Grill for our board meeting, and I was super impressed with the food! I've had the chicken shawarmas before, and they are great, but I really liked the beef one I tried last night. It had a nice char on it, and really great flavor. I'd order both the chicken or the beef again. The hummus and pita were good, not great. The highlight of the meal was the grape leaves, which were the best I ever had. They are packed with meat, and come in a savory tomatoey sauce. Everyone at the meeting seemed to love them as much as I did, so these are a must re-order.

Very solid shawarmas. The taste is incredible, takes me back to my days overseas. The food is made fresh and quickly, the service is friendly and competent.

If you know you know Shawarma Amazing food, however it's always busy so plan for that.

Got the chicken shawarma stick and curly fries with side of hummus, first off the shawarma stick is huge and packed with flavor it's $2 less than a regular shawarma and a great deal for $6 , next the curly fries you get a huge portion of delicious tastiness for I believe it was $4.95 and the side of hummus was only $.95 all in all it was under $20 to eat there which is almost unheard of anywhere these days . Service was fast for a busy night but after the tiger game and great atmosphere to just chill and talk with friends everyone seemed to enjoy it there. I like the open air concept of the dining area for summertime vibe

Is Bucharest Grill the best kept secret in Detroit? A short walk from the Fox theater. Fantastic Mediterranean food at a great price. Way more food than I could eat in one sitting for a great price. Wonderful meal. My new favorite Detroit restaurant!!

I mean I've been to Bucharest quite a bit and have never been disappointed. Just popping on here to share the beautiful hummus we got on Saturday. Loved all the veggies that it was served with. It was crazy busy time for them but the food and service were great.

Ordered a salad here for lunch and ended up with lunch for two days lol. Order came out fast and as you see the portion size is great. Overall I was satisfied and would order again.

Had to try the unique falafel quesadilla. It was a decent size and much spicier than I expected. But it was extremely greasy, totally soaked through in oil. Very nice staff and pretty quick service. Bright, sunny interior. 2.9% credit card processing fee.

Came here for lunch. Lots of space inside. We tried the grilled chicken salad and beef schwarma. Salad was great, even tho we ordered the small the portion was huge with lots of chicken, would Def order again. The beef schwarma was OK, not my favorite take on it so would not be getting that again. The bar has excellent drink deals would also recommend. Overall it was good and would return.

Not sure why the reviews are so low! We came here with a large group before a concert. This place is large (with free street parking if you can snag a spot!) and great for groups. We liked how easy it was for everyone to order food and drinks on their own at the bar which made it easy and pretty fast. The chicken shawarma sandwich is large (~$9) and my friend had the stuffed pepper, they both were delicious!! I could easily come back here again before an event at the LCA!!

I'm from Romania so I naturally had to try this place out! I really enjoyed the food. I think the gyro I had was really tasty and the garlic sauce was excellent. The cabbage wrap (sarmale) I had was not that great but I had high expectations so in comparison it was decent. The service was good and it was a good experience so if you like euro's or some Romanian specialty it's worth trying for sure!

The food is delicious, we are looking forward to returning for lunch soon. The staff was polite, the restaurant was clean, prices were reasonable, great value for the quality of the food.

Another great location that serves amazing food. However, I could not give it the full stars. When Bucharest grill use to be a small spot where people would go and get the full experience. Definitely miss that. The food is just as good but is just not as good as it use to be. Feel like their food quality is lacking, as well as the amount of food u get. We had ordered a take out order because we were going to visit my father at the hospital. The service was fast and had our food within the time limit that they said on the phone. I would still recommend this place to anyone who is visiting or going downtown.

We stopped by Bucharest Grill to grab a bite to eat before driving back to Grand Rapids after the Lions/Packers game. The restaurant was pretty busy, but we were able to find a big table for our group of six while we waited for our food. It seems that the menu at this Bucharest Grill is the same as the other locations in the area, with shawarma, salads, and appetizers. I've been to other locations and have always enjoyed the shawarma. Half of our group's order came out quickly, but the other half took quite awhile. They have a bar so a couple people in our group ordered a beer while they waited. There are lots of TVs in the bar so I think it would be a fun spot to watch a game. We saw a lot of football fans in there and even ran into some friends, which was fun. We all got chicken shawarma, so we probably should've gotten the six-pack box as I think it saves you a bit of money. The chicken was juicy and tender. I didn't have any pickles in my shawarma, which was a little weird, but it was still really good. I'll definitely be back to this location again in the future!

We grabbed a bite to eat here after we doing a group activity downtown. We wanted something quick and tasty in this fit the bill. Most everyone enjoyed their food. I had a lamb shawarma that was a little bit salty and very garlicky. So if you love garlic, this is it. The fries were delicious. The restaurant is fast casual dining. You get a ticket and then they bring your order to your table. The service was quick, there were about eight of us and we all got our food pretty quickly. The price was good for what was ordered.

Asleep at the wheel. Ordered a basic sandwich. It took 25 minutes. If you want a delicious lukewarm sandwich and a long wait. Come on down. I think they will close and offer a food truck option with limited options. They don't know how to run a restaurant.

Team member that took our order was super helpful and even gave us free drinks as she heard it was our first time in. Food was to die for. Very large portions as well which was nice. Environment is very fun and sporty. They have a super cool bar in there as well. Definitely recommend!

I arrived at 1:01 pm ordered. It was a simple order, two lamb sandwiches. People behind us all got their order as we waited at a table. I went up to the counter and they had 20 lined up in process of making them. We did not get our two simple sandwiches for 25 minutes with an empty place. The people working there looked at me like I was an inconvenience. Go elsewhere

Love love love their chicken schwarma salad! Their online menu can use some help for beverage selections.

Walked here from my hotel, where I had cash, only to find out they charge a credit card processing fee. Food is delicious and they give great portions.

The food was so good! If you get anything, get anything with the chicken. Just a tip, the house salad doesn't come with lettuce but the menu doesn't say that on the sign. It's really good, just expect no lettuce. The Hummus was delicious and creamy. It was also huge!! The lamb was tender and flavorful. Atmosphere was relaxed, and fun. Overall a great place.

The server and manager are extremely rude. When, I asked why it's taking 30 minutes to get our sandwiches when we were the first ones in the restaurant to order, I got nothing but, attitude. They can go fuck themselves.

Original plan was to go somewhere in Oak Park, but I wanted to support my neighborhood. So I went here. Waited on the phone for seven minutes just to be answered by a rude team member. Then to get there to food wasn't ready and the wait went by fast. I took it home it was cold. Not the first time. It's been maybe year or two and I tried one more time. Nothing has changed.

I order food with my coworke last night we had it delivered through grub hub I ord a chicken salad However I received a vegetable chicken salad meaning a sprinkle of lettuce i had pita chip on the side didn't receive them overall I was very pissed I can't leave out for lunch a my food was not made correctly it was loaded with tomatoes at the bottom and all the tomato juice was running in the bottom

This place has the best shawarmas I've had in Detroit. I tried the chicken and lamb shawarmas and they both were amazing, despite the latter being pretty greasy! The meat were tender and juicy, and they both had just the right amount of garlic sauce and a medley of veggies.

On a trip to Detroit many years ago, I recall Bucharest being the go to spot for shawarmas. A recent visit back and we stumbled on this newer location. Stones throw away from the baseball stadium and a full bar on deck. Quite the spot for pre-gaming and loading up on food. But unfortunately the food wasn't as good as I remembered. Chicken shawarma was a good size, but over seasoned. Could definitely use some sauce on the side as it did taste a bit dry. Anyways, maybe an off day for this location. 'Til next time, cheers!

I've been wanting to go for a long time. We happened to be in the area today and we stopped in. It did not disappoint. Everything was amazing. Generous portions and sooo good!!! Our party of 4 was very happy!

Like because it has a bar.. Lamb Swarma is fatty but chicken and beef are on point. I don't get it with the sauce doesn't really need it. I just wish they would offer swarma entree's too with the rice..Sandwiches are authentic but not authentic as a whole Mediterranean restaurant

Love the shawma salad..w pita chips..good price plenty of grilled chicken..had a problem last week with a missing salad..The issue was resolved..my nephew went back and picked up the missing salad...

This is my favorite Bucharest location to get takeout. My go to is the chicken shawarma with extra garlic. The chicken shawarma salad with pita chips on the side is a close second. Both are plentiful and delicious. I also like the chicken quesadilla. You truly can't go wrong with anything from here.

Visiting from out of town had my dinner delivered from Uber eats. The food was hot delicious and fresh.

Love the food as usual. BUT today's adventure was almost comical. One never knows how the service will be. Went to Jefferson location around 7:30 pm ish. Tried to call in order, no answer. No problem - we just went there. Two clerks working, there was one customer lady, who was kind of standing in front of clerk #1 who was so intrigued with her phone! She would not look up! She had to see the customers standing there ! Clerk #2 became available-- I walked up and the lady standing by clerk 1 said "I was next". I then walked over to clerk 1 and asked her if she is working? When she took her eyes off her phone she said, "yes"! The lady and I both were in shock--we even oh and she put in for pita chips instead of bread!

I knew Bogden when he opened his first restaurant and the food was great. The garlic, chicken shawarma and chocolate crepes were my go to. I've always rated this my number one place for shawarmas. Today, I was excited to take my new, southern boyfriend to visit this place in Detroit. I'm sad. The chicken shawarmas aren't as good as they once were, there are French fries served... and the crepes are gone. (Sorry for the reminiscing.) We had the lamb shawarma and chicken shawarma. This was the first time I had the lamb shawarma, it was pretty good, I'd order it again. I can't base it off the past in regards to the lamb shawarma but the chicken shawarma... it's too "corporate" now. I would say that this was a place I'd literally drive 40 minutes to in order to have a good shawarma but sadly, I won't be doing this anymore. The positive side to this is the food is still good, quick and now with what I see as their "new" location, it's been a minute since I've been there, it offers lots of space and table with TV's to watch the game. One thing I didn't care for was how spaced the booth seats were from the tables. They were meant for 400lb people and the majority of us are not.

The best of the Bucharest Grill locations. This location has a full bar with a good selection of drafts. The sandwiches are great as always. The place is spotless. A shoutout to our bartender, Autumn. She was so nice and really takes pride in her job. She made our experience even better! We will definitely be back soon!

This is one of the newest Bucharest locations, a return to the ballpark area. It's roomy inside, and lots of room to wait and order. The wait on a game day wasn't bad at all, and kudos to the cooks - the meat was juicy and the wrap was well constructed. You can't beat a good Bucharest shawarma. Lots of TVs in every sight line and a bar round out the experience. This is definitely my new favorite location.

Front of house staff consisted of the rudest group of humans I've ever come across. Not just one or two, having a bad day... a full group of people giving nasty looks, walking away in the middle of taking orders, and being incredibly unhelpful overall. I used to work downtown and would get Bucharest pretty regularly, was excited to take someone who had never been... waited for an hour for food (issues with printer lost a group of orders) and still was treated so poorly. I would recommend going to another location or ordering for pickup. Or just save your money and get something else.

I placed my order online (which was super easy to do from the site). My order was ready within 20 mins. The Bucharest shawarma is worth a try! It has cabbage and fries inside! It's a good spin if you're looking to try something outside of your classic shawarma. They also offer a box (combo) with the sandwich & fries for less than $10. My favorite, by far, is the salad. The large is absolutely enough to share or eat off of twice. If you're looking for a sign to get a salad, this is it!

Didn't know they moved to a New location from cork town.... But I found them bigger more open space same great food!!!!
