15 Hottest New Cocktail Spots Around Atlanta

"Located on the second level of the Victorian, Burle’s Bar overlooks the plant shop below and features a selection of cocktails, non-alcoholic mixed drinks, beer, and natural and small production wines. Named for Brazilian landscape architect and artist Roberto Burle Marx, Burle’s Bar channels the vibe and decor of a 1960s cocktail lounge. Expect a menu filled with classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned, Manhattan, Vieux Carre, and Corpse Reviver, along with tiki-style drinks like the Painkiller. Look for bar bites and snacks from a rotating group of Atlanta chefs to begin soon. Seating is offered at the bar, in the small lounge, and outside on the patio, easily accessed from the Eastside trail." - Molly Harris, Eater Staff

Burle's Bar Review - Old Fourth Ward - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Burle’s has the calming atmosphere of a Zen garden, but with alcohol. Botany lovers who prefer sipping their fermented drinks in a foliage-filled oasis will love being in close proximity to their leafy friends. This O4W bar sits above The Victorian, a plant shop aimed at reeling in people who call themselves plant parents. The bar itself gives off a fun retro feel but fully commits to the flora theme with light and dark green checkered floor tiles and strategically placed house plants. Floor to ceiling windows shine natural light on a mishmash of trendy but comfortable couches and wooden tables that tend to fill up with people who found this spot because of Instagram. But the spacious patio is the ideal spot to toss back a few of their solid drinks like the sweet and tangy cosmopolitan. photo credit: Sarah Newman" - Juli Horsford

The drinks all look great and were great. The Yellow and Old Fashioned were two great choices. $16-$17 drinks. Nice staff. Small place connected to plant shop. It was hard to find. Had to ask security. Took elevator and steps up. Could’ve walked up through plant shop. Seats low to ground but comfortable. Toasted real quick. Wish it was easier to find. We saved this place as a hidden gem. There aren’t a lot of seats so I wonder how they do in busy times. I’d recommend and come back. Didn’t see food, just drinks.

Fave cocktail bar on the Beltline !!! Absolutely love this bar ; the staff, the ambiance, especially the drinks ! Craft cocktails that are well balanced, colorful and instagram-worthy. Drew, Lola, and Rupert are excellent bartenders - quick, efficient and very down-to-earth! Tuesdays are jazz nights and on the weekends they have food pop ups! Great to go with friends ; spacious outside area is cute and comfortable.

I had the Bow & Arrow cocktail here on my first visit a few days ago. Great cocktail, beautiful interior. The bar itself is really small. There are a couple of tables inside but the seating is mostly outside. The staff was nice enough. They're certainly efficient and good at making cocktails.

Outstanding cocktail bar nestled alongside easy side beltline trail right across from the fraternity house boat shoes aka new realm. Bartenders are friendly and drinks 🍹 are never disappointing. Cozy vibe trumps the noise pollution that is the beltline.

Google
12/10! Such an awesome and welcoming experience at Burle’s! I have a new favorite bartender in Atlanta too! Ben was phenomenal and so personable! I ordered the Gimlet (for all my gin lovers) and he made a special tequila cocktail for me made with the cutest garnishes! The vibes were hella aesthetically pleasing! This is now one of my favorite spots on the Beltline in Atlanta! Love love love! Don’t forget to try out a few dishes from Bonvino as well !

If you're looking for a quiet place to have a nice cocktail, don't come here on a Saturday. This is a beautiful space with great views. The cocktails were very nice but we couldn't find a single spot to sit and ended up drinking cocktails in the Victorian plant store downstairs. The outside was crawling with kids taking prom photos.

Google
Every aesthetic social media post you've seen about this place holds up! The bartenders are friendly, the drinks are delicious (can't say the same about other belt line establishments), and the adjacency to the plant store is just as charming as you'd imagine. Such a fun place to go day or night!

Went here for the first time tonight and it was the cutest little place, especially to end a night out! My drink was a bit strong which impacted the flavor a lot but I still really enjoyed it. The bar tender put a little flower in my Mai Tai and I thought that was adorable. The interior and exterior are SOO cute and relaxed. The music and atmosphere were both really fun too. For a Wednesday night they had a pretty good crowd but it wasn’t anything overwhelming. Drinks are a bit pricey, but I will be coming back!

Yelp
Sure, some might say drinking on the rooftop is a special experience. Others might prefer a dive bar with pool tables. Yet, how often does someone brag about drinking at a garden shop? Burle's Bar is here to fill a niche that nobody even thought existed. Surrounded by gorgeous plants, appointed with immaculate top end furniture and having a quaint terrace with heat lamps, Burle's Bar might just hit the dream bar mark for many. It's a beautiful, intimate space that is easily accessible from the Beltline that specializes in cocktails, but also offers a couple remarkable beers on draft for those who prefer reduced headaches the next day. Owned by Cary Smith and Libby Hockenberry, the bar is named after Brazilian landscape architect and artist Roberto Burle Marx. It's a place to admire beautiful interlock of nature and intriguing design, while getting a much needed dose of in-glass happiness. Subsequently, all that joy will likely result in splurging on some rare plants downstairs. And that, with little doubt, may just be the most entertaining shopping experience for lovers of all things green.

Yelp
Met a friend there recently on a date. The drinks are just ok. Not sure what all the hype (in the reviews) is about. I ordered the spicy one. They PACKED the cup with ice, so much so that the alcohol and drink itself was minimized greatly volume-wise. Also, the only way to order a drink is to go to the bar and wait patiently until the bar tender notices you amongst all the other people vying for his attention in the entire place (good luck with that). Albeit Atlanta, there is absolutely NO diversity in this place. It gives very yt college sorority/fraternity vibes. In there was only one blk person there - me. It was packed with primarily 20-something y/o recent college grads. There was a table full of sorority-esk women with a bunch of empty cups from drinks they had consumed. The staff was nowhere in site to clean, let alone take orders. Those poor two bar-tenders had to service the entire establishment. After one drink, my date and I left. Sorry to go against the grain on this one (based on the other reviews), but there are better options along the belt line than this place I later learned that evening. Glad we left. I won't be returning. I also won't actually call it a rooftop bar. There are no views. It's on a corner space of an office building that just so happen to have seating outside. Its more like a partially covered patio than a roof top. I was disappointed thinking I was going to experience a rooftop experience with views of the Atlanta skyline - NOT! There were better views from my date's livingroom window. Lol.

Yelp
The oysters very tasty the spicy drink I had in was ok but t eat thing it's right on the belt line right across from the roof top restaurant just in case you more then a small snack Service good may be a tad bit slow The ambience very chill sometimes a little loud it depends on the people lol Nice spot to sit have a cocktails and people watch

Yelp
Love the bartenders, ambiance, and drinks! The only downside is it is typically a long wait at the bar but I like how the setup is a tad-bit secluded from the beltline.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in Atlanta. Great vibe, good craft cocktails, friendly staff. Jazz Tuesdays are cool too.

Yelp
I was really excited to try out Burle's bar just based on reviews. I will say it was nice in that I loved the "bar above a plant store" concept, the decor is nice as expected, and I liked that they had outdoor space. The drinks were tasty and surprisingly not over-priced (in my opinion). But overall I did think it was a little overhyped. We met some friends here and the first thing they said to us when we arrived was that the bartenders were rude and that it takes a long time to get a drink.. which were both true. Somehow the ordering system seemed kind of inefficient? Maybe they could've done with another bartender or something given how busy they were at the time. I agree with another yelper that the crowd was somewhat.. homogenous, although I don't think that's really Burles' fault.

Yelp
Burle's had an excellent night vibe. The beltline is always packed with tons of things to do, people to see & things to try. I noticed this gem tucked away on the opposite side of the belt and had to try it. Glad I went because I ended up offing three of the exact same drinks. Friendly staff, nice seating areas inside and out and the restroom was clean (I despise public restrooms but this one was good). I'd go again and next time I'll bring more people. They even had heat lamps and stands for tables and blankets rolled up by the door in a bin to stay cozy and warm. Bravo!

Yelp
This is a cute new cocktail bar attached to the Victorian plant store! They have a few bar seats and a couch or two inside, and a good number tables and chairs outside too (best in the spring/summer months). I got the Antidote (which is technically a mocktail, but I asked to add gin) and my boyfriend got the New York sour. My drink was a little bit heavy on the balsamic-- it ended up reminding me more of a vinaigrette than a cocktail, but still refreshing. The New York sour tasted light and refreshing! Service was great, I was able to order at the bar and get my drink pretty quickly! The prices for the drinks are a little bit steep, but I'll be back here to try something new soon!

Yelp
I came to Burle's last night for the first time. It's pretty money. I rarely enjoy most places in Atlanta, but I for sure enjoyed this spot. We came up the stairs from the Plant store and enjoyed decamping on a few of the bar seats at the end of the bar. Cocktails, have legit ingredients and are fairly priced. Couple this with a solid wine list, both draft and other beer options, and this is the kind of spot that Atlanta has been sorely lacking. I met the owner briefly, and we both agreed that for the sheer size of city, Atlanta simply is underserved with late night, quality options. I mean sure there are Taco Macs, and various divey bars, but there are not many nice options open at say 11pm on a Monday, or even a Wednesday no less. There are nice views of the beltline from this perched space, and awesome outdoor patio seats which should play well once Springs sets in. The service was both friendly and knowledgeable. We arrived around 8 on a Sunday and by the time we left around 10 the place was pretty crowded with a hip, younger clientele. When I think of my favorite cocktail bars in the US like Sparrow in Chicago or M.Bird in Tampa, these are places with quality drinks and bars, knowledgeable staff, and an upmarket, no-so-stuffy atmosphere. I'm hopeful that this joint is of this same ilk. I will be back. Likely, often.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Must visit the bar area upstairs. The servers are amazingly nice and the people in the plant shop downstairs were also very friendly.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this little bar! They're connected to the plant shop downstairs and are easy to access from the Beltline. The drinks are classics - I ordered an east side - refreshing and sweet. They also have some beer and wine. There are a couple of indoor couches to sit, and then there was additional space on the patio. I spotted a few dogs (yay!) with their owners, too. The vibe complements the plant store really well, so be sure to check out both!!

Yelp
A plant shop ( the Victorian ) eh uh just buy happen has a bar upstairs offering exceptional drinks and service, resulting in a 10/10 experience, is truly a gem. The combination of lush greenery, tasty beverages, and attentive staff created a wonderful atmosphere. The people, ambiance, and the attention to detail in crafting drinks made your experience truly exceptional. The bartender Rupert was elite in every way ! I hope this new spot keeps him around ! I can see this place excelling in creating a welcoming atmosphere and serving meticulously crafted drinks more and more ! Favorite drinks was the old fashion (one go the better ones I've had in atlanta) and the painkiller which is in this picture attached !

Yelp
With the oversaturation of the beltline, and especially this section of it, it's almost impossible to find a reasonably refined and chic cocktails served in a comfortable environment. Burle's, a small but concise cocktail bar hidden away in a drab office park on the beltline, has stepped up and become the premier spot in this neighborhood for elevated and delicious cocktails. Inevitably, it will be busy, but the skilled swath of bartenders keep things moving, so don't be swayed by the long line. While seating is minimal, their patio is gorgeous and expansive and offers some of the best people watching in town. In our visit, she had a lovingly crafted mai tai, while I had a snap pea scented gin drink that really hit the spot, which we followed up with a couple wines from their express bar near the front. While there, we also sampled pierogi and roasted potatoes from their weekend Polish pop-up, making for a hearty and fresh bar snack. Overall, Burle's is a new beltline classic and one of the best ways to spend an ATL Saturday afternoon.

Yelp
Rudest bartenders ever. I've been excited to come here for months. I had friends come from the other side of town telling them how cute this place was. The bartenders ruined the whole experience. We waited 20 minutes while sitting at the bar and asked when we can order and he was mean and unprofessional.

Yelp
The absolute best bar. The owner, the bartenders, etc are beyond what you could expect. PLEASE COME TO THIS PLACE! I couldn't ask for a better experience.

Yelp
My favorite bar! Love coming here! The only annoying thing is people who try and skip the line by bullying up to the bar. Great staff, great drinks, great atmosphere!

Yelp
For a first time experience for my friends and I , the service received was intentionally and blatantly rude and dismissive. Would not recommend.

Yelp
Great location, friendly staff and nice strong drinks. It's very cozy and cute just steps from the beltline. I had a painkiller that was amazing

Yelp
As a non-drinker who still appreciates mixology, I really loved Burles. Their zero proof menu is and the ambience is good vibe.

Yelp
LOVED this bar. We went to check out the High West event and had some really delicious cocktails. Despite being busy, the bartenders were attentive and efficient. It's set above a beautiful plant shop and has an inviting bar area with an outdoor patio. It was cold when we were there, but the heaters were going full blast. Definitely recommend!!

Carly J.

Yelp
LOVE BURLE'S! Love all the bartenders, especially Nick. Great drinks great prices great atmosphere. It's the perfect stop for a break while on a belt line walk

Yelp
My husband and I went to Burle's Bar to kick off our date night. It was AMAZING!!!! The interior is decorated beautifully, the staff was super friendly, and the drinks were exquisite. You can tell a lot of thought and passion go into not only operating Burle's but also in them wanting the best customer experience. I was super impressed with the drink's menu. Each drink was well curated with pairing flavors and garnish. I had the Painkiller, which was DELICIOUS and topped with edible flowers!!!! The bar staff was attentive and worked VERY hard during the busy Saturday night. The outdoor patio is such a fun space to gather. Burle's thinks of everything in that they have heaters AND blankets for use outdoors on their patio. The entire atmosphere of the bar, patio and Victorian Atlanta Plant Shop was phenomenal. I highly recommend venturing there. I can't wait to go back!
