Buttermilk Kitchen is a charming, cozy spot dishing out made-from-scratch Southern breakfast and lunch, where the heavenly biscuits and seasonal dishes steal the show.
"With a name like Buttermilk Kitchen, the pancakes and from-scratch biscuits better be good. They are, and so is everything else here. That includes the fried chicken biscuit with a side of cheese grits — but don’t sleep on the market scramble made with seasonal veggies. Locally brewed Rev Coffee provides the morning fuel needed to counterbalance those tasty carbs." - Lia Picard, Henna Bakshi
"People flock to Buckhead’s Buttermilk Kitchen on the weekends and for good reason: everything is excellent (and now they take reservations). In a sunny former Buckhead home, chef Suzanne Vizethann and her team prepare classics like orange-zested cinnamon rolls, grit bowls with veggies and eggs, and breakfast sandwiches. The fluffy drop biscuit is the star, however. Order it alongside the pimento cheese omelet or topped with fried chicken, but it’s also just as good with house-made jam." - Lia Picard, Henna Bakshi
"For a homestyle breakfast that gets back to basics, head to Roswell Road’s Buttermilk Kitchen. Though you won't find elaborate waffle towers, their Southern staples are anything but, well, basic. Giant biscuits are moist, fluffy, and come served with housemade jams. The pimento cheese omelet is good and is just as big as the plate it’s served on. And the fried tenders on the chicken and waffle combo are perfectly crisp and juicy. As you sit on the front porch, sipping your OJ from a mason jar, the place starts feeling like home. But don’t get too relaxed, especially if you're visiting on the weekend, since there’s likely a crowd of hungry people waiting for your table." - jacinta howard, juli horsford, nina reeder
"Let’s be real: if you’re not a local, and you’re not here for a day at the park, the reason you’ve come to Chastain in the first place is probably Buttermilk Kitchen. Chef Suzanne Vizethann, a native ATLien and Chopped winning contestant, has cooked up a renowned brunch that sources ingredients from local farms (there’s even a White Oak sticker proudly emblazoning the front window). The quaint building has a line out the door on weekends. Inside, the rooms are filled with eclectic signs, lights and wall paintings, and the bowtie-clad staff bring portions that will require an afternoon nap. It’s one of Atlanta’s best brunches (recommendation: order anything/everything with pimento cheese in it), and a definite must for visiting the neighborhood." - Russell Shaw Design
"Chef and owner Suzanne Vizethann’s non-stop breakfast and brunchery has been a Buckhead crowd-pleaser since opening in 2012. The bright blue building is known for starters that might as well be entrees. It’s too easy to fill up on the biscuit basket, which comes with ATL’s own Banner Butter, or the fried pickled green tomatoes, or even the cornbread loaf. But find room for the stone-ground grit bowl, with garlic spinach and chicken sausage or the pimento omelet with Benton’s bacon and red pepper jelly. For brunch on the unique side, stop by on Fridays before 3 p.m. and order the special waffle burger: a 50/50 blend of pork sausage and beef with bacon, maple aioli, and pepper jack between two buttermilk waffles. Wash it all done with a mimosa or a morning mule made with bourbon, tequila, or vodka." - Mike Jordan
