11 Great Restaurants Hiding In Random Places - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"After an escalator ride, reorienting yourself in the labyrinth of home goods, and a few ponderous looks at the Skims section, you’ll find the Nordstrom cafe lurking in the back of Phipps Plaza. While the food is nothing to go out of your way for, it’s actually a decent option for a quiet, secluded meal after shopping. Fired-cooked Neapolitan pizzas arrive with a crispy crunch (although no airy rise). Salads get topped with a generous portion of lump crab meat, and deep pink salmon comes nicely charred with an artistic smear of yogurt sauce. It all works well when you’re starving and shudder at the idea of joining genpop in the food court." - jacinta howard, juli horsford, nina reeder

Cafe Bistro At Nordstrom - Review - Buckhead - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Everything about the Nordstrom cafe in Phipps Plaza presents like a museum cafeteria—counter-service ordering, sterile wooden tables and chairs, and a framed menu on a stand near the entrance. But the place has also been known to fill with CEOs or RHOA cast members, and been quietly loved by one-percenters for years. As for us, we see no need to go out of your way to eat here, but it'll do the trick for a quiet, secluded meal after shopping. Fired-cooked, Neapolitan pizzas arrive with a crispy crunch (although not an airy rise). Salads get topped with a generous portion of lump crab meat, and deep pink salmon comes nicely charred with an artistic smear of yogurt sauce. It all works well when you’re starving, and shudder at the idea of joining the general population at Johnny Rockets. Food Rundown Chive Biscuit This tastes similar to the Red Lobster cheddar biscuits, though without cheese and herbier. Not a bad start to your meal. photo credit: Nina Reeder Margherita Pizza Skippable, but if you’re really in the mood for one, the bubbly char on the crust makes these pizzas taste better than anything else you’ll find in the Phipps food court. photo credit: Nina Reeder Kid’s Grilled Cheese & Soup It’s an average grilled cheese on nicely crusted sourdough that will more than likely be picked apart by Little Timmy anyway. photo credit: Nina Reeder Spicy Wild Shrimp Pomodoro If you’re here, get this. It’s very spicy but still balances with the tangy red sauce. Wild Salmon Saffron Couscous This fish has a nice char, flakes like you want it to, and has a real salmon taste (not the unidentifiable, off-flavor fish tastes you’d expect from a mall cafe). The couscous is forgettable, but the cucumber-feta-tomato salad is a nice accompaniment. photo credit: Nina Reeder" - Nina Reeder

Google
Cafe Bistro is a delightful department store restaurant with tasty menu items and a limited beer and wine service. The wait staff is solid and the food is really well flavored. Vegetarians will thrill and there are gluten-free items. Wheelchair accessibility is easy. We were a big fan of the soups and desserts. The chili really stood out. Be aware that an 18% tip is automatically added.

First of all the service here was amazing. Everyone was supremely kind and helpful. The food was also better than we expected and the chocolate chip cookie, which is baked in house, is phenomenal. Highly recommend if you're in the mall.

I LOVE Cafe Bistro at Nordstrom Phipps Plaza!!!! I went for lunch today and had the Roma tomato soup with a Toasted Cheese Crostini along with the Chicken and Goat Cheese Panini with Fries and Kalamata olive Aioli and it was PHENOMENAL! Absolutely loved the food today and I cannot wait to go back! The best restaurant for lunch in the area, perfect for grabbing a bite while shopping! Don't listen to the negative reviews, the service was amazing and everyone was very attentive and helpful! I will definitely be returning!

My first time there and I had a very tasty, healthy salmon salad. The waiter was very attentive as well.

Went on my lunch to get the Crab Bisque and grilled cheese. They notified me that they changed the cheese but I didn’t think it would look like this. I got back to see this disaster of a grilled cheese and when I went back to complain they all looked at me crazy and one lady working there got an attitude with me about it. This is not a grilled cheese. It looks like they sprinkled shredded cheese on it and called it a day. I am not used to this from cafe bistro, I am very disappointed.

I recently dined at Bistro Nordstrom, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected. Not only did I find a hair on my plate, but the overall customer service was poor. The staff seemed inattentive, and there was a general lack of hospitality throughout the visit. Although I didn’t bring up the issue at the time, the lack of attention to detail—both in cleanliness and service—was a major letdown. For a place with Nordstrom’s reputation, this was extremely disappointing. I’m not sure I’ll be returning anytime soon.

The turkey avocado sandwich was fantastic!

Always enjoyed the crab bisque & the cilantro lime shrimp salad. Soooo good! The pizza was also good. I haven’t been in a while but I will stop by soon!

Yelp
I love Nordstrom Care it's a nice $$ cafe that has a range of options including pescatarian people like myself! It's found inside of Nordstrom second floor, your order at the register and a server brings your food and drinks out. This time at Nordstrom cafe I tried the crab bisque and shrimp pizza. Oh my gosh the bowl of crab bisque CHEFS KISS ‍. It was well seasoned flavorful, the only con is that it did lack crab. I also had the Caesar salad, the salad did lack a bit of seasoning so ask for salt and pepper. The ambiance is nice conversation is to a minimum it's an open layout with plenty of stroller space ++. It has great natural light and you can see out to city

Yelp
This cafe is inside of Nordstrom's Phipps Plaza. If you're if a certain age, you may recall when all high end department stores had classy cafes. This was a twist on that warm memory. The service is good, but you order and pay at the counter, tip before you meet your server then have a seat. We all enjoyed our food: turkey club with fries, mango crab salad, salmon Niçoise salad, cheddar biscuit and drinks. The low sweet tea is delicious and the servers were all five star. Definitely Buckhead prices, but healthy, filling and worth it. Great time with family.

Yelp
An impromptu lunch brought me here, as we forgot about this location. Unfortunately, this experience was not the best, and we did not eat our entrée and left after the appetizers. The crab bisque was very satisfying, and I was hopeful to receive my salmon meal, however, when the meal arrived we noticed that the salmon was very over cooked ...and not slightly, to be ignored. My husband was very disappointed that they would serve it in that condition as it was obviously burnt around the edges which caused him to speak to management and we canceled the meal. management reacted quickly, and was gracious about the situation, as well as our server who did an excellent job. I do hope to give this location another opportunity as I see the reviews for pizza are all positive. I will update this once we do but if you do go and order the salmon please ensure the chef knows upfront to not over cook.

Yelp
Cafe Bistro provided a great afternoon lunch for me and my teen. While the tomato basil soup was delicious as always, as well as the chicken lemon pesto gnocchi, two things stuck out: 1-they were not prepared to be busy even though it was a Saturday. They didn't take anyone else after us for a bit. I should have known this was going to be a red flag. It took us over 20 minutes to get our soft drink and glass of wine and 40 minutes for the food. They did finally bring us small pieces of bread at butter at the 30 minute mark. 2-the wine wasn't good and it was $13/glass. I would have sent it back, but the staff was just so overwhelmed. Would I go back?? Of course! Nordstom's cafe bistro is always great. Will I pay more attention to how busy they are before we decide to dine in? YES!!

Yelp
Was excited to see Cafe Bistro on DoorDash since I don't live near Buckhead! Their cilantro lime shrimp salad is my fave, the crab bisque is the best I've ever had, and the fries with olive aioli are super crispy and delicious. Kinda bummed they cut the white chocolate bread pudding portion in half but kept the same price. On the bright side, they sell a cookbook with all their recipes--I got it, and everything I've made from it so far tastes just like the restaurant. Perfect for when I can't order but still want my fix!

Yelp
So it's kinda tucked away located on the 2nd floor of Nordstrom in the mall. Somewhat cafeteria style As far as the setup goes. But the food is much better than a cafeteria lol! You have to go in on a top floor of Nordstrom and then you wait in line to order and they bring it to you at your table. While you're sitting there somebody will address you as far as greeting you and seeing if you want anything to drink. Because it's a smaller cafeteria, one side is basically on the same side as Nordstroms, the other side is facing the street so you have a street view. Kind of an upstairs street view but a street view nonetheless. There may not be a lot to see but it's better than staring at a wall lol! I was around so I stopped in for lunch and I was not disappointed. I got French onion soup, Nordstrom Burger and fries, and a Side salad (Caesar). The Caesar salad was good. I probably could have used some more dressing but everything was really really good on that front. The French onion soup was really good as well, so far it hasn't missed! I actually wish it could have been a little bit bigger for me but I didn't know! But the cheese was melted perfectly. The burger was also really decent as well. It came with a ton of fries, ketchup, and some type of burger sauce. I asked mine for medium and they cooked the medium and it was super tender and juicy. Personally, this place didn't miss. They don't have the biggest menu but what they do have seems like it's hitting! Would I go back, absolutely.

Yelp
I never knew Nordstrom had its own cafe and was skeptical at first. I was impressed by the quality of the food. Service can be slow and it can take a couple of minutes to get seated. The place is dim and gave off panera bread/cafeteria vibes. What I loved the most was the complementary bone broth and bread/butter the most (I'd come back just for the brea tbh)! The bread was so soft and fluffy and their butter complimented the bread very nicely. It was a nice spot to grab a quick snack and drinks while shopping.

Yelp
Nice little restaurant inside Nordstrom. The menu has a little bit of everything. I ordered the salmon plate and I have to say it was very good. The prices are reasonable and the staff is nice.

Yelp
Looking for a quiet place to grab lunch, study, or grab a midday cocktail, the cafe at Nordstroms is so good! The crab bisque is my fav. Fuel your shopping with bites and beverages here, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We had a terrible experience from the Bistro's manager today. We have been dining at Cafe Bistro for over 15 years at both locations. We decided to eat at Phipps Bistro and before we could even look at the menu, the manager rudely told us the dining room was closed even though we could see others in there eating. We arrived at 6:39pm. He told us that we need to arrive earlier if we want to eat there or go to the food court. We just felt very unwelcome and put off by his rude behavior. Nordstrom Bistro: Please make sure no one is ever treated poorly. If you can't serve customers then you should not run a restaurant.
google avatar

Naty A.

Yelp
The food was fine but the service at the counter to order is hit or miss. It's always a miss when that short, older white guy that seems to originally be from NY is working the register. He's rude for no reason and very short when you ask him a question about the menu. He snapped at me because I didn't understand what he had asked me... When I said "i'm sorry, what was that?" He yelled at me! I wish I could tell you it was a one off but the handful of times we've been there and he's working the register, he's always rude. The rest of the employees are great. Someone really needs to talk to him about his attitude towards the customers because it wasn't just us. We've watched him treat others the same. As patrons, we are coming in to relax and enjoy our meal and not be greeted with rudeness and an attitude. I've worked in customer service in the past and this guy would've been either re-assigned to a different position or gone! He's older like mid 60s I would say. Maybe it's just time for him to retire...

Yelp
Great service Food is of very good quality Menu may vary slightly some days That's a plus ! Not cheap but not expensive Pleasant atmosphere too

Yelp
Nordstrom Bistro Cafe is my all-time favorite in-store restaurant. The food quality is excellent and the service is outstanding. I have come here many times over the years, sometimes just for the food, even without shopping. Today, I had a fabulous crab bisque, followed by a delicious crab, mango, avocado salad. The real crab lumps were huge, fresh and delicious. The avocado was perfectly ripe. Then I ordered a lemon ricotta cookie for dessert, thinking I would get a little cookie to satisfy my little palate. Instead, the cookie was fresh baked just for me, and well beyond my expectations. I've attached a picture. It's like fine dining within Nordstrom. I will keep coming back!

Yelp
Please CHECK YOUR FOOD!!!!! Especially anything with bread. My breakfast sandwich had mold on it.
google avatar

Clay D.

Yelp
The food was so so, I would not say anything negative other than you place your order at the counter and it is delieved to your table. I would not go out of my way to eat there again but it is ok if you are shopping at Phipps Plaza and need a bite to eat.
google avatar

Yelp
The Crab Bisque, Ravioli, Wild Caught Salmon, Caesar Salad & Artichoke/Spinach Dip is a 10/10 I overly recommend. The food is always consistently great. Imagine, we go to Nordstrom just for carry out. All Togo containers are ECO friendly..... The service is a hit/miss..... the food is always a hit!!!! The Chef & staff all look happy to be at work; it shows.
google avatar

Yelp
Cafe Bistro is located on the upper level of Nordstrom inside Phipps Plaza in Buckhead. My sister and I needed a break from shopping so we came here for dinner. She opted for a garden salad and I had my usual tomato bisque soup and grilled cheese. The grilled cheese could use more cheese but all in all my meal was satisfying. The ladies that serve here are so nice and helpful if you need anything.

Yelp
A small snack before our shopping on 12/30 the service and hospital was 100% The food was D-Licious;) Boo

Yelp
Enjoyed the ambience here. Open, light, and good sounds. Never been here b4, the dish was fresh. The crab bisque was the best!!! The Mac and Cheese with "lump" crabmeat was missing the lump crab meat. Highly disappointing. Especially when the crab bisque had a healthy portion of it. Overall, ok.

Yelp
Simply Stated:Good Service coupled with Good People is always a plus. I've walked in the doors of this cafe before but always turned around and went back down to the coffee shop. Today I entered and Jeremy quickly began assisting me with food options. He was so very attentive and in tune with me and my calorie counting craze. Literally, it took about 7-minutes for me to decide what I wanted. All that I knew was that I felt like coffee. The cook was so very nice and helpful as well. My food was presented pleasantly and tasted like perfection! This bistro is so simple yet so classy and I love the fact that the waiters and waitresses were so friendly. I pay attention to detail and I live the way that the staff even the cooks knew the customers by name. I'll definitely be returning for sure!

Yelp
Jamilla is the sweetest! Her recommendations were great! The tacos are a little small so just order more! The crab bisque is everything!

Yelp
Never disappoints. Love coming here to get their crab bisque. Their salads are all very fresh as well. Great spot to pop into while shopping or just for a quick lunch.

Yelp
Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad. My biggest regret that evening b/c I ordered something different. It's my friend's favorite dish there - I should've followed her lead. Instead I got a sandwich b/c I was craving their Bistro Fries - which were yummy by the way. I hadn't been here in a very long time - it's not top-of-mind. But that salad - I will be back :) CILANTRO LIME SHRIMP SALAD - $15.95 Ok I just had a bite but it was enough to make me fall in love. I love cilantro and that alone in the menu description should've won me over. Organic baby greens, romaine lettuce, wild shrimp (jumbo size!), petite tomatoes, grilled corn, jack cheese, tortilla crisps (looked like those crispy onions) and cilantro lime vinaigrette -- I need to buy that dressing! Salad was fresh and shrimp was cooked to order. I also love that their menu included the calorie count for all their dishes - this one? Just 577 cal. Only downside was the price - $16 seems pricey for an entree salad. BISTRO CLUB - $13.50 Honestly I was craving their Bistro Fries more than anything and their fries are so good. The sandwich was good but not anything special - also I didn't like the bread b/c it was extremely hard (esp the crust) and could cut your lip or gums if you weren't careful. Sandwich had sliced chicken breast, organic baby greens, crisp bacon, roma tomato, avocado, French green beans (random), garlic aioli and toasted rustic bread. The fries also came with Kalamata olive aioli - very salty. Calorie count - yikes 1,229! Overall 3.5 stars but rounding up to 4 b/c of that salad. Server wasn't very friendly though and wasn't good with drink refills - maybe having a bad day. Also thanks to everyone's review reminders - bring cash for tip. Weird flow but you order and pay upfront -- with no option to take care of gratuity. But then after you're done eating, the server will bring a couple chocolate sticks and a copy of your receipt as a subtle hint to pay gratuity - if you don't have cash, it puts you at an awkward spot. Thanks to the Yelp reviews we did have cash.

Yelp
Crab Bisque on a cold Atlanta rainy day #PERFECT just the thing when you are shopping in Nordstrom after leaving the MAC counter

Yelp
Through the help of another "yelper" found out about the bistro the flavors are tasty and has a few coworkers & myself curious for more. The menu has a nice mix of salads, sandwiches, pizza's and entrees. Even beer and wine are available if you are so inclined. There seems to be some confusion about tipping here so I inquired to clear this up, NCB is a "full service restaurant the only difference is that you order at the front everything else is taken care of when you are seated" so bring cash or put the tip on your credit card. While I am becoming a fan of the food the service confuses me if they are a "full service bistro" why is the service missing the mark ? * The cooking times can take 20 minutes + for a sandwich and pizza so if you are on "your break" or short on time for lunch you may want to call ahead to place your order so that you can pay, grab and go.
google avatar

Courtnie S.

Yelp
Came for the bread pudding, the servers were very nice and playful. The pudding took a little longer than expected but when it did arrive I liked it. It was a bit eggy-er than I remembered but the taste was rich and decadent. I love the white chocolate and the tartness of the raspberries that cut all the richness.
google avatar

Diedre R.

Yelp
Has lost some of its luster since I no longer work in Phipps and this is the better alternative to the food court. Did I really pay $5 for a coke and a glass of ice tea? Yes. Over all lunch for two people ended up being $30. I knew this going in, but for some reason, just wasn't that pleased with the whole $30 soup and sandwich deal for two.
google avatar

Yelp
Here's how it works. They have the menus at the door, browse through, decide on what ya wanna eat, go up to the cashier and place your order. They give you the booklet thingamajig to put your receipt in then you pick your table to go sit. Your server comes, looks at the receipt, brings your drinks then your food then bla bla bla. If you don't have cash to leave on the table for tip, you can add it while placing your order. The Salmon with Gazpacho Salsa is my absolutely favoritest(LOL) meal from there! I sometimes ask for spinach instead of green beans. I also like the crab bisque soup and the kid's cheese pizza is yummy. I believe they changed the sauce but it's still good! The regular breakfast on the breakfast menu is also my go to meal on Sundays. Its scrambled eggs with roasted potatoes, bacon, toast and fruit! The ceasar salad(I get mine without chicken) is amazing too. As far as deserts go, my friends like the bread pudding and I like the strawberry shortcake(OMG nom nom nom). This place is a must try!!!

Yelp
I was first introduced to the Nordstrom cafes when I used to freelance for Clinique. One of my favorite lunch places because the delicious food served at these Nordstrom cafes. I love how the decor at these places are just modern and peaceful. This particular location is no different. I work right down the street and sometimes I would make a quick pit stop here to grab a light dinner or a tasty bowl of soup. I'm not a huge fan of dessert after any meal but all of their selections from their creme brulee to their wide assortment of cakes and tartes are amazing! The service here is always stellar and I appreciate that the food is always served piping hot and their menu items are consistent. My favorites are any of their salads, their croque monsieur and their crab bisque soup. I would definitely order "the bowl" size because it's so filling and could be considered your entree for the night or at lunch. Looking forward to visiting them in the near future to try out their flat breads and paninis.

Yelp
I come to Nordstrom just to eat sometimes because of how much I love this place. Super amazing service. Outstanding food. Better than most restaurants. The French onion soup is to die for and the French fried with the olive aioli is amazing. Sometimes they have specials like their broccoli cheddar soup and I have never had such good soup before. Everything is so so so good.
google avatar

Nola G.

Yelp
I love the consistency of the Nordstrom Cafes...fresh and delicious if you are Seattle, Portland, or Atlanta...and it has been this way since the eighties. Entrees are made-to-order, fresh, and delicious. Calories are indicated on the menus. Quick, efficient, and friendly if you are in a hurry. No Buckhead pretentiousness if you just just want to grab a nice bite to eat while you are shopping a lunch. Always love the crab bisque and the maple bacon deviled eggs. The salads are nice. Good for moms with kids or a casual girl's lunch.
google avatar

Yelp
Hidden gem inside Nordstroms. Recently, I had the pleasure of dining in the Bistro. I had the turkey on wheat, it was the most amazing combination of flavors that I have had. Without a doubt one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. They served it with Fries and a garlic Aioli &Kalamata Dip that made me want to eat it with a spoon. G
google avatar

Laura N.

Yelp
I am slightly addicted to Nordstrom Cafe Bistro's white chocolate bread pudding. The sandwiches are great but overpriced. Panera has better and less expensive sandwiches. Don't get the macaroni and cheese; I seriously think it is the Kraft mac n cheese. Service is always excellent.

Warren C.

Yelp
Had the Salmon on the Cilantro Lime Salad to go. The greens were fresh, the dressing had just a hint of heat, and the salmon was perfectly prepared. The quality and preparation match the best of similar stand-alone restaurants. Great job!
google avatar

Jenny D.

Yelp
Great place for lunch if you're at the mall. It's a bit on the pricey side but I feel that it's worth it. I've had 2 different salads: 1. Cilantro lime shrimp salad - very good, nice medium sized shrimp. 2. Crab, mango and Avocado salad - Very fresh, loved it but on the small side The cilantro lime dressing is amazing. Crab bisque is also very tasty.

J M.

Yelp
OMG...Best berry salad and Marguerita pizza EVER!!! SUPER friendly service by everyone. I wish I lived around the corner from this place. This was such a nice experience.
google avatar

Cassandra M.

Yelp
You can never go wrong ordering the lobster bisque at Cafe Bistro at Nordstrom's. The smell alone pulls you in and the taste goes in for the kill. The next time you're in Nordstrom at Phipps Plaza I recommend you stop in for a bowl
google avatar

Kathleen M.

Yelp
I really don't get the hype. With the Phipps Food Court closed this is really one of your only options, but I can't say I'd rush back. I waited in line for 10 minutes to place an order, waited 20 more minutes for my sandwich to arrive, and way overpaid for all of it. Given the price tags, you'd expect big entree salads and well stuffed sandwiches. You're not going to find them. The salads I observed had 3 measly shrimp or a few slivers of chicken, definitely not worth the $10-$13 they hock them for. My sandwich was okay, but Panera blows this place out of the water. I'm also not a fan of the set up, where you order at the counter and then also have a server. As someone who never carries cash, I felt pretty bad with the totally measly tip I had to leave behind. Plus, my waiter was pretty damn good looking, making me feel even worse.

Yelp
I love Nordstrom Cafe! It is so much better then eating at the food court. My friend and I were shopping today and came here for lunch. It was fabulous. As we arrived, we ordered at the front and then found a seat. I ordered the steak sandwich on the ciabatta bread. It was delicious! It came with a kalamata olive spread that had a strong flavor. I'm glad I asked for it on the side. My friend ordered the turkey sandwich with a cranberry spread. We both shared so we could have one of each. I liked my sandwich much better! They came with a side of fries that were tasty as well. My sandwich and a tea came out to $14 and some change which is a little pricey for lunch. The service was also very good. My tea was always refilled and the waiter even gave me a to-go cup to take with me while I shopped. If you are ever at Nordstrom, don't forget about the cafe. It's so worth it. Now my favorite store has and cafe too. What more could I ask for?
google avatar

Laura H.

Yelp
When I was younger, my Dad would take me for lunch at the Rendezvous, a restaurant in the basement of the Watt & Shand department store. They served diner food with a side of charm. The Nordstrom Cafe experience reminds me of a way fancier version of that... The menu is pricey ($10-14 for lunch) and the process is backwards. You stand in line at the entrance, place your order at the register, and then someone will seat you. A server brings your drink and food, but remember how you've already paid? Yeah, don't forget to bring some cash for the tip. I really don't get it, but there must be a method to the madness. The food is good, but the only thing magical here is the french onion soup. Just be sure to get here before the Buckhead Betties do-- the place gets really busy around noon.
google avatar

Yelp
I have had one too many lunches sitting in my little corner table contemplating a very expensive purchase I just made downstairs in the shoe department. Somehow, I find I think best with a cup of their soup, and an eye on my Nordstrom bag. I spend at least an hour of "shopping foreplay" trying out the shoes. I take a sip of tea, look at the shoes, taking a bite of the Cafe's amazing turkey club, stand up, act like I am digging in my purse to get a new angle and back in my seat again. This goes on for quite some time; through the soup, sandwich and coffee. Wait, this review is for the cafe? I was only getting started on the shoes!
google avatar

Yelp
Food = Consistently delish. Wait time/service = Extremely hit or miss. Service is usually pretty friendly but often sloooow, even outside of peak times. If you're catching a movie after at Phipps or have somewhere to be, be weary! This is not fast food.

Yelp
This is my go-to place for a shopping break - to relax and unwind over high-quality, delicious food while enjoying excellent service. Bisa at the cashier is very pleasant and helpful - always making sure to ask the chef about ingredients, offering a taste to help me decide what I want to order. Service is really excellent; I have never had a negative experience, and that is becoming a rare thing. Every server, busboy, the chefs, will say a polite hello, nod, or ask if they can get me something. That's one of the main reasons I keep coming back. I highly recommend the Bistro Club: sliced chicken breast, organic baby greens, crisp bacon, roma tomato, avocado, and hericot vert (perfectly blanched!) on toasted sourdough. The fries come with kalamata live aioli, which is the bomb! It tastes like dijon mustard and olives. Yummy! I can never eat more than half a sandwich, which is pricey at $8 (full sandwich is $11.75), but I don't mind paying more to get what I know will be good. I highly recommend their triple berry strawberry shortcake; will transport you to Europe. The shortcakes are not spongecake but rather more like a crumpet. I always ask for extra Devonshire, clotted, cream and extra strawberry sauce, and they are more than happy to oblige! A few tips: bring cash to leave a tip. You order and pay at the register and then you are seated. A chef brings your order, you eat, and you are served some mint chocolates (more yummies). This is when you leave a cash tip. You can include tip while paying at the register on your credit card. Just don't forget to tip - the service is great (Brandy, Joseph, and just about everyone else here)! Another tip, avoid Saturdays, when there's lots of kids (screaming, crying kids). But even then, it's pleasant. A few more things: they use organic produce, milk free from BGH, cage-free eggs, organic iced tea, and products free from hydrogenated fats and oils. Many of their paper products are recycled.

Yelp
My favorite salad in Atlanta comes from this low key cafe in a department store. Seriously. I crave the blue cheese, dried cherry and candied pecans on mixed greens salad with a dark cherry vinaigrette on a weekly basis. It is pretty expensive, like most of the meals, in the $12-$13 range, but I will let you in on a secret: you can order a half portion and it is half price, but it is more like 2/3 the original size! $6.75 for a seriously delicious and -to me- quite filling salad. If you want to be decadent and make the half salad in to a full meal, add a goat cheese fritter on the side for about $2. It looks like a crispy crab cake in size and texture, but it is a creamy delicious round of soft goat cheese coated with panko and fried to golden crispy perfection just to the point where the cheese starts to get warm and oozy. Seriously yum. Things to know: you order at the counter (this is the longest wait by far of the entire experience), pay there, then be seated by a hostess where a server takes over to bring you your drink, food (this takes just a few moments even though everything is made to order) and keeps your water refilled without asking. A cash gratuity is necessary as you have already paid for the meal separately.

Yelp
Cilantro Lime salad is one of the best salads in the area. I added shrimp and they were cooked perfectly both times I've ordered this meal. This kind of fresh fruit is hard to find. I'll be back.

Yelp
I happened to be shopping in the mall, and asked the sales clerk for a lunch recommendation-- I've been to most of the places around Phipps/Lenox, and always feel like they're overpriced. I was so surprised when she told me the Nordstrom Cafe was amazing-- I didn't know they had one! The cafe was DELICIOUS. I had a soup and sandwich combo, and everything was fresh and tasted great. Service was outstanding. How is Phipps' best dining hidden away in a department store? I'd go into the mall just for their food!

Yelp
We got here around 1:30. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich and the turkey was apparently great. These were both only things I've tried here. You order at the counter and then they bring it to your table. Mine came with fries. The bread was really hard and it made the sandwich difficult to bite into. I ended up opening it up and eating the insides with a fork. Efficient staff with perfect manners. They brought us plastic cups for water to go and off we went!

Yelp
To be honest probably one the coolest hidden gems in buckhead. Food tasty and not over doing it like all the crappy chain restaurants. Wife and I always went to the ones in Miami so we are so happy they have the same ones here in Atlanta. Only downside was the pizza dough did not taste the same as Miami locations.
