"Downtown Sacramento meets sexy uptown London at this foodie haven, where Chef Oliver Ridgeway applies his formidable British culinary know-how to farm-fresh Californian ingredients. Inside, the striking dining room features glossy floor-to-ceiling windows; a polished, forever-bustling bar; as well as a lovely outdoor dining area overlooking Capitol Mall.As the name informs, spit-roasted meats take center stage here. A decadent evening feast might begin with an airy popover before settling into more substantial dishes. Don’t miss the incredibly tender prime rib, paired with crispy golden potato rösti, fermented horseradish, sour cream and peppery watercress. Classic English desserts, like the scrumptious Banoffee pie, are perfect for sharing." - Michelin Inspector

"The only Sacramento chef to ever land on the Saveur 100 unveils his first restaurant tomorrow. With its bold design, British inspiration, and chef’s pedigree, Oliver Ridgeway’s Camden Spit & Larder is easily one of the most highly anticipated Sacramento restaurant openings in quite some time. Located just around the block from downtown Sacramento’s new, giant food hall The Bank, Camden Spit & Larder promises to channel the farm-focused cuisine the city does best as well as Ridgeway’s British roots. At the heart of the menu are spit-roasted meats — as referenced in the restaurant’s name — such as roast beef rib with fermented horseradish and Yorkshire pudding. More English-influenced dishes include pork sausage rolls with hot English mustard, while the Sacramento flair reveals itself in vegetable-centric offerings like charred broccoli with black garlic soubis, confit carrots, olives, and chermoula. Caviar from nearby Passmore Ranch is always on offer. (See the full menu below.)" - Janelle Bitker

Awful experience. We had high hopes for this restaurant with great reviews. Came for a dinner before a concert at Golden One. Service was friendly and mostly attentive. Brussel sprouts were burned. Sent them back for another fresh order. Top brussels were tasty. Bottom brussels were also burned. Charred brussels are great but these were burned tasting. Ahi tuna was tasty. But was not a fan of eating them with crackers . Ceasar salad was awful. Dressing was thick and not flavorful. I only ate two bites. Steak was MID. Not high quality meat. For the price a definite rip -off. Strangely the Albarino wine made us both feel woozy and sick. Very odd and quite awful. Have never had an experience like this before. The popovers were cold and tasted like they were made the day before. Very bad experience.

We came here for dinner on our wedding day and they went out of their way to make us feel loved and special. Their service was amazing, they were timely, and the atmosphere was romantic and calming. We will be coming back here time and time again. Our server Brooke was professional, kind, and attentive!

Great place to get a bite to eat... Brilliant ambiance, affordable prices with quality food and top notch service. If this place was in the City (SF...for all my non Bay Area peps) it would easily be twice as expensive. It's been a while since I've been here. Therefore, this review is solely from a memorable meal right before watching Kiss at Golden One Arena...which is walking distance...BTW. I'm not sure if the menu changed or if these dishes are still available. I'm also certain everything will probably be a lot more expensive now...that food inflation is no joke. ~ Organic Roast Half Chicken - 5/5 That presentation tho... Perfectly cooked Half Chicken; tender, juicy and moist. The Creamy Potatoes were delish as well. ~ Double Cut Rack of Pork - 4/5 Tender, juicy and moist Pork with a tasty sauce. I think it was on the sweeter side from what I remember. I reckon its probably still a great place to come get a bit to eat.

A short video to share with you https://youtu.be/bz_5jf5H5Cw?si=7o-qzS18mqxUPnZ0 A Michelin recommended restaurant in downtown of Sacramento. Complimentary bread is a good start. West Coast Oysters with onions and red wine sauce is incredible. King salmon is delicious. Daily house made pasta is very unique. The best and special is Porchetta. The ending desert is Toffee pudding. Not cheap but worthy.

This place was great! Sorry, no picture of the appetizer, we killed it. But everything was incredible just like the service and our seats facing the chef 😘🤌🏾

Google
Steak tartare was real nice. Had a bit of spice and the beef was ground well. The ambiance was good, we sat at a high top at the bar. We had 3 different people helping us so it was a bit weird on the service. At times we were left alone for a long period of time. Overall it was a good experience.

Google
My husband and I went here for the first time tonight for our 24th wedding anniversary and it way surpassed our expectations! The food, the service and the atmosphere were just what we were hoping for. We got complimentary glasses of champagne and menus that said Happy Anniversary on them. We both ordered Meat pies and we shared sausage rolls. Yum! Our server, Chloe, was very friendly and attentive…we have not had such great service since before Covid. Thank you for a great experience!

Yelp
I'm very critical about restaurant given my many years working in them, Camden Spit & Larder was a 10/10. I'll start with the staff. I booked an online resy couple weeks ago for this past Wednesday night. It was noted for a birthday. On Monday prior to, I was contacted by the host to confirm. The host offered to write "Happy Birthday (Name)" on the menu. This was a very nice gesture, which they did follow through with, we arrived and the table was already set with the custom printed menus. Also, the host ran through the deserts on the phone and I pre-ordered 3 of them, asking if they can place candles on 2 of them. Which they did and during the dinner the waitress was very accommodating and following my instructions on timing to bring them out. It was excellent communication from her. Our waitress was very kind, informative and continued to ensure we were satisfied. Along with other staff who dropped items off at the table. Management as well, very accommodating for everything we ask, no hesitation to make things happen, including charging a cell phone. There were a couple larger parties around same time and the waitress notified us with a recommendation to place the order sooner than later so that way we would not get caught amongst the big order and would be waiting for our food. This was a good call. Staff was properly marking the table and clearing items. Drinks were solid, I had a few spicy margs. Food was all great, good flavors and decent portions. We had Tuna Tartar, Caesar, beets salad and oysters for starters. Followed by the Sea Bass special, steak and pasta. All were very good. The steak was ordered medium but came out on the rare side. We asked if Chef can re-fire, they had no hesistation to do and they also re-plated the dish as if it were new. This is what I expect in a place like this and they certainly delivered. The place is very clean, ambiance is nice, spacious, the bar looked legit. Was impressed to see a large kitchen line. Can always tell how efficient a restaurant is by the size of the line and food window. My only suggestion to the business would be to use smaller platers for the smaller square 4 seaters. It was very tight when we had 3-4 dishes on the table. A lot of the plates were much larger than what was actually plated. If you're in Sacramento, I highly suggest this place. Spent about $500 for 4 of us but it was worth it. I have no problem paying a high ticket when the service and food is great. Management: Think about expanding into San Jose. It would do very well.

Yelp
Great place to get a bite to eat... Well...this one is a draft I sat on for way too long. For some reason I never got around to finishing it and putting it out. So, now almost all of it is from a memorable meal before watching Kiss at Golden One Arena. I'm not sure if the menu changed or if these dishes are still available. I'm also certain everything will probably be a lot more expensive now...that food inflation is no joke. Brilliant ambiance, affordable prices with quality food and top notch service. Yelp
One of my family's go to spot. The service is the best, the ambiance is dimly light, and the food and drinks are always amazing. Camden doesn't disappoint us. On our most recent visit my brother decided to add caviar and truffle to the dishes we ordered and it had my toes curling. Their cesar salad is also top tier. We love Camden so much!

Yelp
I got invited to my friend's Birthday dinner here and I'm so glad I was able to attend. The menu said Happy Birthday Jose on it . It was such a cute detail. The food was so good!! Literally 10/10 experience the drinks were fabulous as well . Let me say this was maybe the best new restaurant I have been to in a while I keep thinking of the food it was so good . Everyone here was super friendly and attentive our waiter was amazing. Also don't skip on the dessert they are all a must try . I highly recommend checking this place out . I can't wait to go back .

Yelp
Food here was amazing. Service was the highlight for me. We had a lovely server (dang forgot her name), very attentive, sweet and always available. Nice ambiance and great for a group or a nice idea.

Yelp
Fourth time here, and definitely the last. It's a great looking place with a limited but thoughtful menu. Food is usually very good to excellent, but tonight, my dish was pretty heavily salted. They have very good cocktails and a strong wine list. This evening's meal started great, but was ruined by a service issue that left me uncomfortable, offended, and ultimately, not interested in returning. Service here has always been an issue, but more just not extremely professional than anything else. After our apps, we requested another round of drinks (2 glasses of wine and one cocktail). About 10 minutes passed and our entrées came. When I finally got our server's attention, he said drinks were on the way. I pointed to my plate and said we were nearly finished and had hoped for drinks with the meal. He completely lost it and said we weren't his only table, he had to answer other questions for other diners and they'd be there soon. He then went to the bar and had clearly forgotten to put order in as the wine bottles were collected and poured into glasses. Honestly, had he just said he forgot to put order in and hadn't lost it on me, I wouldn't have been happy, but I would understand. Bar manager came over and said he saw how long drinks took and the round was on him, but damage was done, for me. Honestly, this place should be better but most will still enjoy it. I definitely will not return.

Yelp
I had wanted to try Camden Spit & Larder for quite some time before the opportunity arose. What better way to celebrate the release of the movie Wicked then to come to a fancy dinner with my girlfriends beforehand?! And that's exactly what we did! The three of us enjoyed a wonderful meal before heading to the movie. My two friends decided to share the oysters, but I did not partake as I am not an oyster girl. They did rant and rave about the flavor, and I will just take their word for it. I did split an order of the sausage rolls with a friend as an appetizer, and they were very delicious. For my meal, I couldn't decide so I ended up trying their roasted beet salad and their seasonal soup. The salad was so fresh and earthy, while the soup was warm and comforting. My friends both enjoyed their meals of steak and pasta, respectively. All in all, this is definitely an upscale fine dining establishment and I would be happy to return for a special celebration or anniversary.

Yelp
I stopped by Camden for a quick drink on a Monday before a Kings game. The place was busy! We sat at the bar and I ordered the House Gin & Tonic. They make their tonic in-house and it's definitely delicious. I'd recommend coming for happy hour for sure. I missed the window and my drink was a little more than I'd usually like to spend around town, but the ambience and service were nice touches. I'd say happy hour prices would have made this experience 5 stars for me!

Kristi M.

Yelp
It was my birthday dinner and the restaurant made a special menu wishing me a happy birthday! The service was friendly and attentive, we wanted for nothing! Our food was amazing, in taste and presentation. We had someone with a food allergy and they made sure all her food was prepared in such a way as to make her feel safe to eat. Our table faced the wine bar which gave us beautiful wine labels to admire. While the restaurant was full, we did not feel as though we needed to yell to be heard. The lighting was as subdued enough that it wasn't jarring yet we could definitely admire the beautiful food presentations.

Yelp
We met friends here and enjoyed a nice dinner. Easy parking in an adjacent garage. Service was friendly and prompt. I had the Caesar salad and without my asking, they split it for my husband and I. We had the pork chop and the shepherds pie.

Bianca C.

Yelp
Every dish we order was amazing. The soft chewy bread provided was delicious and made the experience unforgettable

Emily S.

Yelp
The food was fantastic! Everything we had was very tasty, but service was spotty at best. It was my husband's birthday and they printed personalized menus, which was sweet. Once seated, we weren't greeted for about 10 minutes, with lots of staff walking by. We were thanked for our patience multiple times during the meal, but the actions never seemed corrected. A round of drinks was not out by mid-course, so the server apologized and said the manager would comp them, which was never done. The manager brought over our dessert with a candle in it, but stood at our table and asked whose birthday it was, which felt a little tacky for the level this restaurant this is. Hoping it was a fluke of a night, but definitely left feeling not taking care of and dissatisfied for this caliber.

Yelp
Missed the part about prime rib being on weekends only. I thought the steak tartare was really good and the best thing we ordered. The warm popovers they offered were a nice touch. The meat pie had a nice crust but the meat could've been a little more tender. It was kinda tough and dry. 3.5 stars for food (2-3 if not for the tartare and popover). Our server was nice and more importantly, available! We never had to wait long to make a request or to get what we requested. It was mostly a business crowd on a midweek evening. I'd say service bumped this to four stars.

Jenny I.

Yelp
This is, without a doubt, the best meal we've had in a long time. This is Moxie and Pazza Notte level perfection. From the special pumpkin soup to the market cheese plate with crusty bread, to the NY steak that was grilled in heaven to the braised pork "meat pie" that left you speechless. But let's not forget the pop over croissant-like rolls with the fresh butter. And I didn't even mention the beautiful, creative, fresh cocktail menu. Friendly, attentive service. I don't know how they nailed it, but the atmosphere is upscale-classy, yet relaxed-cozy. This place is a must-visit dinner spot. I should mention the kitchen, being open and on display for diners is a fun touch. Worth every penny. An A+ experience!

Yelp
I recently attended a work dinner with colleagues at a restaurant that was both beautiful and welcoming, located very close to the Golden 1 Center. We were seated at four large tables in a private room. Each of us was served a popover pastry which was delicious--a big, fluffy roll that was quite good. For appetizers, my table chose the Market cheese and sausage rolls. The Market cheese was light, airy, and delightful, although the rustic bread that came with it was slightly burnt, detracting from the cheese, in my opinion. The sausage rolls, which I refer to as banger rolls, were excellent! I, along with a few others at my table, ordered the NY strip steak. Mine was cooked just as I requested, but some of my colleagues felt theirs were not done right. My main complaint is that it was served with frilly mushrooms, two hashbrown balls and odd onions; I would have preferred mashed potatoes and asparagus, like the Prime Rib. I didn't ask, so it's possible they might have accommodated the request. For a steak priced at $62, I expected it to come with a side. Nevertheless, the portion of meat was quite generous. I would definitely return to different menu items. All the staff that I encountered were great!

Yelp
A Romantic Culinary Experience for Valentines Day I recently had the pleasure of dining at Camden Spit and Larder with my date on Valentine's Day, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we stepped into the venue, the ambiance set the stage for a truly romantic evening. The atmosphere was enchanting, with dimmed lighting, so many couples, and an elegant decor that created an intimate setting, EVEN and those tables that are kind of squished together. The addition of roses on each table added a touch of classic romance, instantly making us feel like we had stepped into a haven of love and warmth, so so sweet! Each dish was a masterpiece, carefully crafted to tantalize the taste buds, I loved every bite! The chef's attention to detail was evident, and the presentation was nothing short of art on a plate. Oh it was SUCH a wonderful experience! One of the highlights of our evening was the incredible wine pairing. Each selection complemented each course flawlessly, enhancing the overall dining experience. The service was exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous, adding to the overall charm of the evening. Our server was not only prompt but also took the time to explain each dish and its ingredients, always giving us new silverware, enhancing our appreciation for the culinary artistry Thank you! Definitely go check it out!

Yelp
Came for Winston Hour and loved all the food that we ordered. Everything came out fresh and hot. I especially enjoyed the sausage rolls, Beef Tartare with house made chips. The low alcohol cocktail with strawberry was delicious with the shaken egg white. Feels like I got my protein in my cocktail, so it's healthy, right? The seasonal margaritas here are stiff, but great for someone who likes spirit forward drinks. The fries were perfectly salted and the burger was juicy. Would order everything again. Can't wait to come back to try the dinner menu.

Diana P.

Yelp
First time joining during their 5th Anniversary celebration. Cocktails were light and refreshing, presentation was beautiful and we greatly appreciated the attention to a food allergy. Not pictured is the burger and it was truly amazing. May be the best burger and the one to beat in Sac! Restaurant has an upscale feeling. I enjoyed the open kitchen. We sat at the bar. Food was served quickly and the GM was very prompt. Thanks for a great experience. We'll be back!

Sam S.

Yelp
My SIL booked a reso tonight for our family after raving about their happy hour. English fare is typically pretty low on my going-out-to-eat list, but this place completely changed my mind; top to bottom, everything was amazing. Decor was beautiful. Upscale yet cozy. The open kitchen/service line was cool. There was a room in the back being used for a bday party, so if you're looking to host a small event, they've got the option. Our hostess was incredibly kind and accommodating (Eliana? I feel awful I can't remember her name!); she checked our coats and gave us a numbered chip to get them back at the end of dinner amongst other things she did to make sure our dining experience was great from the get-go. Our server, Andra, was wonderful as well and had lots of recommendations. Knew the menu through and through. All of our cocktails were delicious and it was nice to see options for low alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Loved the Fireplace Sour. Standout eats were the sausage rolls; ahi tuna tartar; braised pork shoulder meat pie; and Chilean sea bass, but everything looked amazing on this menu. If you're looking for a nice night out in SAC, highly recommend giving Camden S&L a try. You won't regret it.

Trish E.

Yelp
What an amazing dining experience! Party of 7. Our server was so nice. Food was delicious.

Nickie L.

Yelp
Lovely experience from start to finish. We were celebrating our anniversary but I could also see this being a great spot for a group reservation. We had an indoor reservation thinking it was going to be hotter than it was. Upon arrival we realized the patio had great shade and the hostess was able to accommodate us moving outside. We also realized when we walked in (about 10 minutes early) they weren't open yet and offered to wait but they were so nice and seated us anyway and got us some water. Our server was Kayla and we adored her! She was friendly, bubbly, and made us feel right at home. She did a great job of making recommendations and checked on us often. The seasonal drink menu had lots of yummy options, we tried 3 different ones and loved them all but the Witching Hour was my personal fave. The bread had no business being as good as it was. I would happily buy it by the dozen on a weekly basis if doing so was an option. We stated with the tuna tar-tar and it was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and I loved that the crackers didn't crumble when you bite them. No notes. My husband had the meat pie, I tried a bite and would definitely order for myself. You could really taste all of the ingredients and could tell it was fresh. I has the rib-eye that was on special and it was cooked perfectly, tender as a mothers love. Only thing is it's massive. If I ordered again I would either want to be sharing it or being headed home after so I could pack up the leftovers. We'll definitely be returning.

Paige G.

Yelp
One of my FAVORITE restaurants down here in sac. Drinks are always delicious, the food is always different yet comforting. The decor is chic yet still traditional. I've never had a problem with service and they remember you for sure if you go a lot. The first time I've had oysters was here so I have a biased view on them and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting at LEAST a half dozen.

M A.

Yelp
Oh No, no, no The service was okay. But the food was not good. My salmon was overly salted. I could not finish it. The prime rib that my son got, was cold and had no flavor. Very disappointed. And we paid over 400$ for 3 of us. Don't recommend it at all.

Oksana P.

Yelp
I like vibe, drinks and food. Also dessert was veeery yummy. The bar was not too clean

Faith S.

Yelp
This was our first time here at Camden, it was quite the treat! The service was spectacular!! We were celebrating my in-laws anniversary, and we really appreciated how special they made it for everyone! The custom menu for the afternoon was perfectly curated. Everything was delicious, I could have licked my plate after I inhaled my short ribs, but I refrained. We had a private room and everyone was very attentive, frequently checking on us and going out of their way! Highly recommend for private events!

Con C.

Yelp
Excellent spot before an event. Fast friendly service. Food is Michelin star. Everything was fantastic. Ambience is great inside. Unfortunately we sat outside on the patio which would have been nice except for the flies that kept bothering us and landing on the food

Tiffany C.

Yelp
The best Caesar salad! Also a fantastic meat pie and delicious dessert. Everything I ate here was delicious, and the portions felt generous. They also had delicious Yorkshire pudding (aka popovers) and fantastic drinks. If I'm ever back in Sacramento I'll definitely be back here!!

Whitney C.

Yelp
First of all, beautiful interior - very posh! Every single person working there was so kind and attentive. We couldn't find the front door (and it was obvious) and a manager came out to grab us. The service was fantastic. Our server was always there to answer questions and see how everything was! We ordered a lot of food and a lot of food came! The portions are large! I had the salmon. I ordered it medium rare but it was much closer to medium (still very tender and not over cooked). It comes with a really good mint cream sauce on it. Served over spicy lentil. Bread appeared on our plate at one point and was consumed quickly. I tried my sisters halibut and it was so good! Probably the best dish at the table. Nice and creamy and rich. My husband had the pork chop which was honestly too thick. The carrot side is a must!!!

A J.

Yelp
Reservations for a party of 10 on a Friday night; the ambiance was just right. Lots of people dinning, our table was ready and they were able to accommodate a last minute change to our reservation time. Great service from the wait staff and she provided valuable suggestions. For starters I had the Tuna Tartare, which was fresh and flavorful. My main course was the English Meat Pie which was better than what I had in London a couple years back. Everyone had a great time and good meals, I would recommend.

Mikayla M.

Yelp
I went here for a work lunch and it exceeded my expectations. We got the sausage rolls which had great texture and flavor, the soup of the day which was a mushroom and sunchoke soup with truffle cream or something like that on top. I am not a fan of mushrooms and never heard of sunchoke but I tried the soup anyways and it was one of the best soups I've had. The english dip was tender and the chocolate banoffee tart was one of the best desserts I have had in a restaurant although I don't have much fine dining experience. Definitely try this place, great service and ambiance.

Yelp
Camden Spit & Larder is a unique infusion of UK meets US. From its very name which refers to "spit-roasted" meats, down to its British influenced/themed menu. Inside the restaurant the ambiance is stunning. Camden's dining room features beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows, that overlooks a wonderful outdoor dining area as well as Capital Mall. During the night we enjoyed a number of things. I should have written this soon so that I remembered everything. Some of the things we enjoyed were the sharables like the half dozen sausage rolls, the Asparagus fritz and the Truffle Mac & Cheese. My mom and I also split the Hanger steak which was one of the specials for the evening. And my boys split the 20 oz. Spit roast prime NY strip. The adults then finished of the night with dessert and had the Camden Bar. Which is a house made snickers bar with flare, that was absolutely delicious. The boys wanted the sorbet and my youngest couldn't decided on which on he wanted. So our waitress asked him which ones he was thinking about, and then surprised him all of those flavors instead of just bringing one. We thought that was an extremely kind gesture, and he was grateful. Ambiance 5/5 Service 5/5 Food: Quality 5/5 Presentation 5/5 OVERALL: Definitely a great spot for a classy night out with loved ones. Our waitress and the rest of the staff made us feel very special and welcomed. And went above and beyond for us. Overall, the service, location and food made this experience a memorable one. I look forward to visiting this fine establishment again for another night out. And the manager was extremely attentive. Notes: Street parking or structural parking available nearby. Parking wasn't difficult to find and we opted for the parking garage which Camden validates. Definitely make reservations, so there's no potential wait. Dress to Impress

Yelp
What can I say! I was amazed by the food, service and atmosphere. Delicious food, we had the oysters, sausage rolls, Yorkshire like puddings, and the steak pie. I was full with joy. The Bakewell tart took me back home! I loved the pistachio alternative! The host and waitress was so great, they kept coming back to check on us. I went home happy and ready to come back!

Amy N.

Yelp
We had a retirement party here in a banquet room and it was so great. The food was delicious and our waitress Madison was excellent. The room was perfect for our party plenty of room to accommodate everything we needed. I am giving 5 stars because we were so pleased!!!

Jack H.

Yelp
Thought I'd drop in to give a mention to this not widely known of an amazing burger. It's just a very well executed classic tavern style burger. Prolly unpopular opinion here, but I think it's a much better style than smashed style burgers. Now onto the fish n chips (Fridays at lunch only). It's easily the best classic English fish n chips in the Sacramento region (and there are a couple of "English pubs" in town!). I'd say the closest comparable fish n chips is Sláinte in Oakland. NA drinker pro-tip: Camden carries the amazing Erdinger NA pilsner beer. It's been out of stock there for a while, but I'm patiently awaiting for their return. Oliver & Chris, maybe bring in Guinness 0 also!!

Kellie N.

Yelp
Camden Spit & Larder does NOT miss!! I have NEVER had a bad bite of food. Enjoy a cocktail, sit on the patio or the English pub style bar. Enjoy every bite of food, and order dessert! Perfection every time.

James L.

Yelp
We went here for our anniversary dinner and had a really good meal. They even printed out special menus for us that said "happy anniversary" on top and brought us champagne for an anniversary toast. The popovers were average and the Caesar salad was good. I had the salmon and my wife had the scallops. Both were very good and had large portions. The only issue with the food was that we felt dirt on the Caesar greens while we were chewing and there was also dirt in the Frisée on top my salmon. I wouldn't expect this for a restaurant of this caliber. Our server was top notch! Would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the gritty greens.

Chris F.

Yelp
I used to get the chicken and gnocchi which was amazing. Haven't seen it on the menu for a while but hoping that they bring it back. The sausage rolls and Cesar salad are great. The service is top notch. The ambience/decor is modern British vibe to it. Great place for a business dinner or date night.

Yanna V.

Yelp
Came here for my hubbys birthday and the service and food was phenomenal. The hostess sat us down and we had a quick chat with her, she was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and told us all her favorites. We started with the farmers cheese and the sausage. The farmers cheese was so light but they give you a lot so it was really filling. The sausage was more on the heavier side I only ate one piece and we packed it to go. For the main coarse we got the lamb shank, it did have a little lamb taste to it but the sauce and the farro was SO delicious. Finally for the dessert we ordered the sticky toffee pudding with coffee and both surpassed our expectations. Overall solid food, amazing service and great atmosphere.

Yelp
Loved the sausage rolls and that spicy mustard was the perfect compliment. Was not a fan of the Spit Roasted Chicken, the chicken breast was so big which resulted in it being a bit dry. I was looking forward to the sticky toffee pudding and it would have been better if it was hot, it tasted like it came out the fridge, the flavor was still good though. Overall the service and restaurant was nice so it's still worth a visit, I would be interested in trying different items.

Yelp
The food is incredible. Even the bread and butter at the start is the stuff of dreams...

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place for a awhile. Especially, they are mentioned in Michelin Guide 2022 and 2021. We came here on a Friday night and the restaurant is pretty full. I really like the wide comfortable chairs and the ambience. After we placed our orders, we are each served a popover and salted butter. OMG, it's so darn good! It's soft buttery, slightly eggy flavor on the inside and flaky on the outside For Starter, I had the chef inspired soup, which was white beans soup top with olives and cream?. It was hearty, creamy and the olives gave it a nice salty contrast leaving you wanting another spoonful. It was absolutely delicious! For Entree, it was a toss between the King Salmon or California Sea Bass. I went with the sea bass because I love arancini. The Tokyo turnip, baby artichokes, arancini, sundried grapes, preserved lemon sauce complimented the fish. Sea bass was cooked extra crispy outside and perfect inside. For dessert, Banoffee Tart! Dulce de leche, chocolate ganache, banana, and top with creme fraiche! Rich and decadent! I wasn't crazy with the Pimms Cup, because I make it differently with cucumbers and ginger ale. It was still good. I just expected to be sweeter. Service is impeccable. Our waiter was very attentive and checked on us frequently. Our water glasses was never empty. Overall, a great dining experience and I will definitely be back again.

Yelp
What a great meal experience my family of 6 had here at Camden Spit & Larder. Food was delicious, staff was super friendly and attentive, and the casual elegance of the setting was warm. Our three tables weren't completely ready when we arrived, but they fit us temporarily into two while being super apologetic and promising to get our third table ready as soon as it cleared up. They offered to check all of our coats and the entire staff, including the hostess and our waitress Andra, were nice and accommodating. Now the food and drinks - all super good! Cocktails were made perfectly. We each got something different and they were all stellar, from the Pimm's Cup to the Voodoo Carré. I recommend the latter for something in between an Old Fashioned and a Manhattan. Food was delicious: they bring out a complimentary bread service which was great, and then you should start with an order of sausage rolls and tuna tartare. The meat pie of braised pork was VERY filling, so get that if you're really hungry. Pasta, Sea Bass, and Short Rib were all hits at the table. TIP: they have a happy hour menu that looked great and I heard the Tikka Misala fries are very good. Come through for that!

Yelp
Very pricy but food and service was impeccable. My husband ordered steak & I ordered vegetarian. Vegetables were super fresh & seasoned perfectly. We went here for an anniversary dinner and the staff made our visit very special.

Yelp
What a great restaurant for a client meeting. I've been twice for lunch and both times were phenomenal! Yelp Elite tip: ask to sit at the chef's table. It's like a low bar with 8-10 seats. Unary way to can interact with the chef and sous chefs. Speaking of the chef... he's amazing. He's from Essex and made especially for my group mushy peas. In the UK that accompanies fish n chips, which by the way is a Friday must have. This is the only place that I've enjoyed a cold soup. It was green, so flavorful. Get the sausage rolls for an appetizer and the ice cream trio for dessert.

Yelp
This restaurant called the day of my reservation that I had made weeks in advance and cancelled it. Thats right, I made a reservation for four people for a Wednesday evening, and they called the day of to tell me they were canceling my reservation. What good is a reservation when they cancel it? This is the first time I have ever heard of a reservation being canceled by the restaurant. On top of that, I was told it was being canceled to accommodate another party.

Yelp
Camden has very quickly become a birthday staple in my family. While yes, it is pricey, I believe that it is worth the money. The staff is unbelievably welcoming. You are greeted with customized menus with your name and the special occasion (if you are celebrating). The food is undeniably outstanding, the yorkshire pudding (aka popover) starter with rosemary butter and flakey salt was absolutely amazing. Growing up in a somewhat english household, we had a lot of these around the holidays, and I can easily say they have perfected the recipe. Every time we go, we ask for extras to take home. Our favorite item there, however, is their sticky toffee pudding dessert. It is a rich and decadent toffe "cake" with a toffee basket on top holding vanilla ice cream finnaly topped off with warm toffee drizzle. It is, without a doubt, one of the best deserts I have ever consumed. Their menu changes with the seasons to bring the best quality ingredients to you at all times. However, the one thing that stays consistent is their dedication to great food and service.

Yelp
This place suffers from an awkward location. I think it aims to be an elevated, fine dining experience but the location has relegated it to cater to the lunch capital worker crowd. But everything from the drinks to the food does feel elevated and out of place. It's probably a better night out/date night location than a lunch location.

Yelp
Delicious food and excellent service. I had the seared tuna and it was fantastic. We had our office holiday lunch here and it was the perfect setting.

Yelp
Friday, 11/11/2022 - Tried Camden restaurant in downtown Sacramento for dinner. Address is 555 Capitol Mall, Ste 100, Sacramento, CA 95814 (Downtown). There is a parking garage you can park in and they do validate it for only the first hour. After that, you to have to pay. We did make reservations, so upon arrival... Pros: 1) place looked clean, cutely decorated, table setting nicely set up. 2) there is a bar. 3) we were seated right away. 4) They made a cute little Happy Birthday menu for us. 5) our server was very nice. They had people checking tables in case we need water refills. 6) water tasted good. No metal taste or funky taste. 7) Bathroom is not in the restaurant, but in the hallway. Clean. 8) the bread was made to look like a chicken drumstick. It was a little crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. We really liked the bread. 9) the New York Strip and brussel sprouts dishes were delicious. 10) after we were done eating, we sat chatting for a bit. I didn't feel like they were rushing us out of there. Cons: 1) no cons. Conclusion: We both liked this restaurant. Clean and cute. Staff really nice and professional. Foods were all good. Drinks good. Place was nicely decorated. As a reminder, parking is the parking garage and they do validate for the 1st hour. If you haven't tried this place yet, try. Lmk what you're experience was like.
