The Best Date Night Restaurants In Mexico City - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"If Havre 77 is where you go for date night over textbook French classics, then Cana is where to be for a more modern take. It has the charm of a European bistro, but the Mexican music playing inside the airy dining room brings you right back to CDMX. They serve up one of the best caesar salads in the city, loaded with parmesan and decadent medium-rare steak frites. You can also exchange platitudes at the bar, over at least one dirty martini or a glass of something red." - guillaume guevara

"Light-filled with a classically elegant look, Cana is at once cozy and bustling with a bistro atmosphere that is inviting yet informal. Just right for date night, it's also a perfect pick for a night out with friends. No matter what you settle on, you're sure to have a pleasant experience here. The small menu of contemporary Mexican cuisine is based on seasonal and local produce with well-presented dishes ranging from croquetas de bacalao and arroz meloso con calamar y almejas to magret de pato, zanahorias y farro and cheesecake de camembert y compota de guayaba." - Michelin Inspector

The 38 Best Restaurants in Mexico City | Eater

"Mexico City is saturated with casual bistros and wine bars, so it takes some great cooking for one to rise above. Cana, the first solo project from chef Fabiola Escobosa, offers just that, with well-tuned flavors in dishes like foie gras with pear compote, cod croquettes, chive dumplings, creamy rice with squid, and steak frites. But if you’re just looking to indulge in a burger and a house martini, Cana has your back (the burger is only available when sitting at the bar). The restaurant pulls a local crowd, and the staff are knowledgeable and familiar, making Cana a great addition to the neighborhood. Best for: Cana is one of the few restaurants in Mexico City that offers bar seating, an excellent option for solo diners or a casual business lunch." - Natalia de la Rosa

The 16 Best Restaurants In Juárez, Mexico City - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"Cana might be a European bistro, but the Mexican music playing in the airy dining room will bring you right back to CDMX. They make one of the best caesar salads in the city, and while that should definitely be part of your order, what you’re really coming here for is the big, juicy burger dripping with grease and poblano relish. It’s only served at the bar, so post up there, order at least one dirty martini or a glass of something red, and settle in for a leisurely lunch of people-watching the crowds lingering on the sidewalk." - guillaume guevara

Google
Cana exceeded all of our expectations and is a Juarez gem rightly deserving of being Michelin Recommended. We ordered far too much—assuming it was small, tapas style plates—but the Manager was gracious enough to let us know we ordered too much and made his personal recommendations. The Melon, Persimmon, Pistachio and Herbs dish was sensational and can't stop raving about the Duck Confit.

Cana - a fantastic chic yet cosy restaurant in one of my favourite neighbourhoods - east Juarez. the chef, Fabiola, has an amazing pedigree - having worked at Estela in New York and Pujol in Mexico City. great service, delicious dishes and super cocktails and wines.

Give this little gem of a place a try - i wouldn't be surprised if it gets an official michelin nod (not just a guide rec) soon. The food was beautifully presented and the service was warm, friendly, and efficient. Some of the best "on it" yet relaxed service I've had. Two of us shared the parsnips dumplings (dumplings de chirivia) They kindly asked if we wanted 4 instead of the usual 3 it comes with to make it easier to share - i appreciated that gesture. Tbe dumplings were a touch sweet- but underatandable for parsnips- but the salty yet clean tasting dashi broth balanced it out. For mains, I had the arroz de chanterelles, and my boyfriend had the lamb ribs. I'm taking off 1 star because though everything was cooked and presented to perfection, both of our mains were sweet in a way that did not seem balanced or match the meal. Did the salt and sugar get switched? The drinks were delicious- the tepeche was a unique pineapple liquor based drink and the margarita was fresh and clean in flavor. The ambience is inviting and casual, elevated without being stuffy.

I had an excellent lunch here with polite, professional service. Servers all speak English and menus are in English. I sat at the bar but there are many table choices including outdoor dining. Limited wine by the glasschoices; 2 of each kind and a bit pricey. I started with French onion soup and although it took 30 minutes to arrive, it was delicious. Then I had steak Tartare, super fresh, perfectly seasoned, came with warm toast. I enjoyed this leisurely lunch very much. Highly recommended.

I ate here tonight and it’s one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in years. The service and atmosphere was perfect. The food was modern but unpretentious, affordable, good portions; and the cooking was fantastic. A flawless restaurant experience which is hard to come by these days

Cana is a fantastic dining experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. We started with a refreshing salad featuring cheese, fruit, and pistachios, setting a light and flavorful tone for the meal. The cocktails and Albariño wine were excellent pairings throughout. Highlights included the camarones with shiso, which offered a delightful wrap-yourself experience, and the fried kale with ikura and mayo absolutely outstanding. The steak and fries were another standout, with the fries ranking among the best I’ve had—perfectly crispy and flavorful. The dumplings were unique and delicious, filled with an unexpected root ingredient that impressed us. While the mejillones didn’t quite hit the mark for us, everything else exceeded expectations. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and while the meal was on the pricier side (around 1,000 pesos per person), it was well worth it. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Very good experience and most importantly very good price/quality rate unlike other hyped restaurants in the city. Food was amazing, its been long since I think all the dishes ordered were very good. Honestly I recommend the sea urchin, the cheesy bread, the tartare, gnocchi and the steak and frites (the fries were incredibly good). Really wanted to try the burger but it was only served at the bar (such a pitty tbh). Desserts were outstanding as well (difficult to find 3 out 3 good desserts)
