The vintage Prohibition-era aesthetic is a meticulous replica, rooted in Gemignani and his wife's obsessions with the 1920s and '30s. The pizza is Chicago style through and through. Our go-to place for deep dish pizza, especially love their pepperoni and Detroit deep dish. Its tomato sauce is so rich and thick, mixed with layers of cheese and high quality sausages - just amazing! I’ve tried famous deep dish pizzas too, like the Lou’s in Chicago. Despite Capo’s doesn’t have the same hype, it definitely tastes better!

Visiting San Francisco and Capo's was recommended to us by a local. We had a Detroit style pizza and it was amazing! One of the best pizzas I've ever had (including pizza I've had in New York, Chicago, and Italy). I'd 100% make a point of going back if we're in the San Francisco area again.

Great staff and best Detroit pizza we've ever had. So good that we went back twice while in San Fran. It's close to Chinatown and felt pretty safe. I'm a Chicago pizza expert, but I had to keep getting the Detroit because it was so awesome 👌. We will be back if in San Fran again.

Great deep dish pizza spot. Appetizers & salad were the highlight of the meal. Pizza didn't disappoint, but the flavors weren't a little off for us. Service was very attentative. They even had live music playing at the patio

First time eating a deep dish chicago-style pizza as it's my first time in the US, and this was something else. Very nice, definitely different than a good old Napoletana I am used to :) the thin crust pizza was also very nice! For the two of us (one adult man and one woman), we've ordered a 10" thin crust pizza and an 8" deep dish pie (old Chicago style), and it was more than enough for us. The full-sized deep dish pie looked huge so I'm glad we didn't order it! It seemed like it would fill 4 adult men.

I have known Capo’s for several years, but each time we go to North Beach, which is not often, we go to another favorite Italian restaurant not far from it. This time, I decided that we must try Capo’s for my birthday, and I am so happy that we did! We ordered meatballs, wings, and calamari for appetizers, and it was all delicious! My daughter ordered pasta (I forgot the name), and she loved it. I, of course, ordered the deep dish in an iron skillet, and I swear, I will always come back here whenever I crave deep-dish pizza! We have been fans of Tony for a while. Luckily, there is a Slice House pizza not far from us, and soon, one will open just a short walk from our place; however, from time to time, I crave a deep dish, and Capo’s will undoubtedly be a go-to place! The cocktails were also delicious! It was Happy Hour when we went, and I had a few orders; thanks to rideshare, I had no worries ordering many drinks. What stood out the most were the staff and the service! They were all very friendly and pleasant. They were constantly checking to make sure that we were enjoying our meals and drinks and always with a smile! We were a party of six, including my 14-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son. If you are in North Beach, do check out Capo’s! I know it can be challenging with so many good selections of Italian restaurants, but Capo’s may just become one of your favorites!

really enjoyed our experience here! We ordered the pesto pasta and meat lasagna. Both items were really good but nothing stand out. The deep dish pizza seems like the thing to get here. Service was wonderful and prices were average for SF. Would recommend!

Five stars to this bustling restaurant for accommodating my large party of 9. I felt a bit anxious about getting a table since it was a bustling weekend in the North Beach area, but Grace, the manager, was incredibly accommodating and warm, which is a rare quality these days. She recommended some plates that were truly amazing. I genuinely value the service and food at Capos, and I will certainly return.
