"Caractère de Cochon is ham paradise, lined wall-to-wall with charcuterie from all over France and Europe. And if your wallet can cope with the audacity of a €15 jambon-beurre, this is the place to give in. Choose from a number of pedigreed cooked or raw cured hams, like a floral bergamot number or Italian prosciutto aged in grape must. Your selection will be layered onto a baguette slathered with butter and dotted with cornichons. (You can pay a supplement to add a few measly slices of cheese.) The bread itself has a slight sourdough tinge, but overall is frankly mid. But this may well be your only chance to eat Iberico de Bellota on a Parisian baguette." - Emily Monaco
"A tiny, charcuterie‑forward shopfront known for some of the city’s best sandwiches: a transcendent jambon‑beurre with expertly sliced aged ham, a creamy slab of quality butter, fragrant hard cheese, and a top‑notch baguette, and an equally exquisite pâté sandwich boasting a generous wedge of foie gras. The maroon façade, cured meats in the window, and exacting ingredient quality make even the simplest sandwiches feel special." - ByBon Appétit Staff & Contributors
