"With the goal of providing a variety of bread and pastries from different Latin American countries, Casa de Alfajor hits the mark with both sweet and savory offerings. The namesake alfajores — tender shortbread sandwich cookies filled with creamy dulce de leche — come in flavors such as coconut, chocolate, and white chocolate. The barbacoa torta ahogada is another must-try: Drenched in spicy tomato and chile de arbol sauce, and laden with tender barbacoa, the crusty bread holds up well but softens to the perfect bite." - Rebecca Shea

Google
Great service and great food. Cookies are amazing. Steak sandwiches, chicken quesadilla, and salad are all great. Space smells well and is clean. Our 11 y.o. said “Oreo” ice cream is the “best she ever had.”

Google
Delicious sandwiches, alfajores and ice cream. The asada torta is amazing and the dark chocolate-dipped alfajores are incredible. Every now and then they come out with new products that are worth trying, like the macaroons or the strawberry cake. Service is always welcoming as well. I would highly recommend a visit, this shop does not disappoint.

Ordered a coffee and the coconut alfajores. Opened my container and the cookies smelled so good! So yummy! Will order from here again soon! Cute packaging too.

Google
First time in and immediately greeted by the owner. My wife and I had no idea what kind of bakery this was. Turns out it’s a Mexican bakery with a gourmet twist. They serve delicious baked goods, coffees from around the world, tortas (sandwiches), and salads. If you visit here, be sure to pick up their cookies. The smell of their cookies brought an instant homemade feel and flash backs to when grandma was baking at home. Come on in and taste it for yourself!

Google
Came across this place while looking to buy a cup of coffee! Glad that we did! Not only is their customer service A1 but their torta was sooo good! Best kept secret in Concord! Thank you for your personable experience and customer service! Much luck & success ALWAYS!

Google
They have not updated online that they do not have the kitchen open at the moment. They are unsure if it will return. They do have some pastries but I didn’t see a whole lot when I went in. It looked a bit empty but my friend raved that the cookie pastries she bought from them were really delicious. I had originally gone for the tacos de Birria and hoped they had Pan de Puddin. However they did not have any.

Holly Parker

Google
Had a great lunch today. Red Tacos - fried crispy with birria were my favorite. The Birria Torta was also very good - the roll that it came on was so good I bought just a roll of bread to take home as well. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I know the owner and his sourdough bread is affordable and delicious. I will share be used organic flour but that's ok because I'll buy it either way. He was written up in the Chronicle for his sourdough. I always enjoy seeing g him when I go in.

Ariana A.

Yelp
This place has absolutely delicious birria tacos and consomé. This has been the only thing I've ordered from their menu (there's no other place I know of near me that serves these tacos) but I would also like to try their birria quesadillas. They're listed on the menu as "red tacos" and are about $15 for 3 tacos and the consomé is a separate extra cost. When it comes out fresh, the tacos are super cheesy and yummy. The building is very spacious and doesn't get too busy, so I always get to grab a table. In the middle of the restaurant, they display their desserts and pastries such as flan and alfajores. The restaurant is located in the Park and Shop surrounded by a lot of different Asian cuisines, dessert shops, and a grocery store. If you try parking close to the restaurant, that is the area that is the most congested, we always park in the back of the building.

Yelp
I've been meaning to stop by and browse this bakery for awhiles now even though I only come to this area about once every few months. The inside is very big and spacious overall, I came in the afternoon and it was dead in there, so I'm thinking it's more for the breakfast crowd or even early evening due to the coffee:drinks and baked goods. Anyways it took a few minutes for the baker or cashier to come out from the back, he seemed very helpful and he pointed out to a few things and I asked if he had a strawberry version of a shortbread cookie deal, since they had a guava and pineapple ones. The cookies were a tad expensive imo, but it's a small business so it's within reason. At home the strawberry cookies were pretty good overall and if it's open and I'm in the area again, I'll see if something else catches my eye.

Yelp
There's a fire new chef here that is bringing authentic Guadalajara and Jalisco style cooking to Concord and I highly recommend his menu. There are some amazing dishes with spices from Guadalajara and recipes that are inspired by the chef's grandmothers cooking and they were all so good. If Guy Fieri is living in Flavor Town, then this new spot called Izcalli is Flavor KINGDOM. They have Elote, Red Tacos, Birria, and Stir Fried Birria Noodles which own it's own was fire but add in some of that extra spice and it's even more amazing! I had a hard time deciding on what to get, so I basically got it all. For dessert, I had a yummy ice cream with a short bread cookie on the bottom and I need to have more! Please come check this spot out and support local businesses! It was amazing!

Yelp
The beef sandwich had crunchy bread, but the sauce was salty. Otherwise, it was a good sandwich. Got some cookies and bread to go. They have so many but mostly dulce in the middle. Alfajores cookies, which they speciaize. They have corn cookies, which are gluten-free. Nice people.

Andrew O.

Yelp
Came in to get food at 12:30 for lunch. Was told by the staff who were sitting around eating lunch that they were not serving now, it was their lunch time. So, won't be back again.

Yelp
We order the ahogado torta (with pork) and the asada torta, the aqua chile (shrimp) and elota All was super good. Loved my sauced sandwich. Too much food so custards for later

Steph V.

Yelp
Tried the Guava cookies and Cajeta stuffed Alfajores. They were so fresh and good. Customer service was helpful and kind without being pushy. Glad i randomly walked in today. Definitely want to come back.

Ingrid M.

Yelp
This place has the best cookies ever go check it out! You won't be disappointed! And the most delicious bread ever! Great service too! Parking is ok

Vixen C.

Yelp
I only stop by for the alfajores, shortbread sandwich cookies filled with delectable dulce de leche, dusted with powdered sugar. Casa Del Alfajor offers several varieties of these cookies along with a few breakfast and grocery items. The alfajores are a South American treat and they are delicious. Casa Del Alfajor is located at Park 'N' Shop closer to Joann Fabrics. It's a big space that could be better utilized. There is indoor seating if you want to enjoy coffee with your cookies, breakfast, or tortas and salads. The center glass displays house the cookies that you can choose yourself. They provide trays and tongs for your convenience. Along the sides of the bakery they have breads, random canned foods, and vinegar for purchase.

Francis K.

Yelp
An unexpectedly great source for sourdough sandwich rolls at a great price. Their sourdough recipe matches their high-priced competitors. A real bargain. Love the cookies too.

Gs G.

Yelp
Tortas Ahogadas are not only authentic, but they are delicious and made with high quality ingredients. This place is a gem, wish them the best as they start to grow and expand their menu.

Shayla B.

Yelp
Delectable alfajores at your service! The name speaks for itself; this house of tasty Peruvian cookies is one that should not be overlooked. I stopped by to pick up a couple of alfajores and ended up staying for breakfast. How about that? The breakfast was scrum-diddily-umptious by the way. The interior is super spacious! I walked in and couldn't believe how roomy it was. They have a small bakery section where you can grab fresh bread and other pastries. On the other side of the bread are grab and go alfajores. When I walked up to the ordering counter, the sweet young man was very helpful in answering all of my questions. This is a family owned and operated business which is always nice to see around these parts. I noticed that they were offering some breakfast and lunch items, so I decided to try out a breakfast plate. I ordered their chilaquiles con mole, chai latte, and three of their alfajores (coconut, pecan, and powdered sugar). I asked for the breakfast to be made for there, but they accidentally made it for to-go. No biggie since it was still delish, but I really wanted to get a nice picture of it (you know us Yelpers be!). The chilaquiles were friggin' BOMB! They feature chicken mole, onions, sour cream, fresh avocado, beans, eggs, and tortilla chips. The chicken mole was rich and flavorful. They came covered in sour cream and super fresh avocado! YUM! Loved, looooved, LOVED their alfajores! They literally melted in my mouth after the first bite. My absolute favorite was their coconut one. I love coconut but usually avoid anything that has coconut shreds because I'm not a fan of the consistency. However, THAT baby was fantastic! Come to MAMA! Those coconut alfajores can get it all day, every day! Their chai tea was a huge miss, however. First off, it's powder based and it tasted like it didn't have any flavor whatsoever. I can't really fault them on this too much though since it's not really a "café" per se. I'm seriously craving some of their coconut alfajores now... damnit! So excited to have this house of goodies in the 'Cord now. Looking forward to many more glutinous visits here soon.

Greg M.

Yelp
Not only is the food fresh and delicious, they make the best bread onsite. And their homemade ice cream is the best in town. Great people too.

Michelle N.

Yelp
Happened to be in the area so stopped by about 10am on a Tuesday. No one else was in there but that was good since I had to get back to work. I was greeted by the friendly cashier and asked he asked if I wanted a sample of their coconut alfajor - very delicious. Ended up buying 9 alfajores (coconut, regular, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate). The cholate ones cost more than regular and coconut. They also had a pecan and white chocolate alfajores options, they even had mini versions. All my coworkers enjoyed them and I was so happy to find a good place. Would definitely come back to buy them.

Kimberly N.

Yelp
This place is a must try!!! I was so excited when this place opened. Their alfajor cookies are very tasty, and freshly bake. They are soft and creamy like a butter cookie but better. They are not extremely sweet but with a lot of flavor. They also have other kind of cookies with white chocolate, milk chocolate, and more. We have tried several and they were all amazing (I couldn't pick my favorite.) I will definitely come back. They also have breakfast and this delicious sandwiches with home made bread. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. They go out of their way to please their costumers and they offer samples as well. If you are in the area, stop by this gem. You won't regret it.

Elena D.

Yelp
This place have great cookies . I couldn't decide which to get so I bought a variety of cookies. The Alfajores cookies are baked fresh and tasted like butter cookies but much better, it had a smooth and a light cream in the center which gives it a perfect combination and not to sweet. I also tried their best seller sandwich which is the Barbacoa Tortas and just pour the spicy sauce over it, it was cooked just right, taste great:) Friendly service. Will definitely come here again:)

Nicholas B.

Yelp
The BEST Guadalajara style tortas ahogadas in the SF Bay... they have a new expanded menu focusing on birria under a new name (Izacalli). Great cookies, alfajores, and imported Mexican snack foods, too!

Marlon O.

Yelp
Did not try anything else but the cookies YET. This place is a Mexican/South American bakery/restaurant if I remember correctly but anyways the cookies were great. Not bad at all. Walked in expecting different types of pan and empanadas and such but was pleasantly surprised with the cookies. They're soft and not too sweet. The different toppings actually made a huge difference which was surprising since the cajeta and cookie itself didn't change but ultimately it was a nice little snack to have while out in the Concord area.

Rachel P.

Yelp
I stopped in the other day and tried the carne asada tacos. It was really good! There is a plethora of alfajores and I was able to try a sample from the register. I hope that people don't shy away from this place because it's in a good space with delicious treats and some great items on the menu.

Yelp
Having just finished my lunch, I was about to head off to get my customary boba after meal to appease my sweet tooth. But after thinking about it, I decided that I wanted something else to fulfill my sugar needs, and that's what brought me to Casa Del Alfajor, located in the Park & Shop, right next to the Goodwill Store, and Kansai. What used to be here was Bonjour, a Korean/French bakery which had a nice bread selection like those you'd find at Sheng Kee, or other Asian style bakeries, but on the pricier side, but hit or miss on the quality. The first time I saw that Casa Del Alfajor, I always thought it was just a replacement bakery with similar bread selections, and somewhat similar style of bakery. The decor of the place has not changed much (if any, really can't tell) from the location before, and it's still a large store, with some small tables that can sit a couple to a few people, but spacious, as you could probably fit another 7-8 tables there to fill up the empty space between the eating area and the bakery area. Again, very spacious, but that could be a good and a bad thing at times. The staff here are very friendly, and greet you when you come in, and also willing to come by and help out with selecting, and answer general questions. I can always appreciate good service. The bread selection here is not exactly what I thought it would be. They have a very limited bread selection, and it's just basic bread, no filling, not toppings, just standard. They do look delicious, but it's definitely not a place you would come to just for the bread, so keep that in mind. As a result of this, the shelves look very empty, and sort of adds on to the whole spacious thing this place has going on. But in the center between the breads on the wall and the counter, is what defines this place, and therein lies the cookies, or Alfajores, case, with the different assortment of the Alfajores in each case. The Alfajores comes in two sizes, with the pricing relatively scaled to their size, so it's more or less if you prefer a smaller cookie or a bigger one, and less about getting the most bang for your buck. There several different types of flavorings, and different types of creations for the same flavors. The Alfajores is mainly two cookies sandwiched together, with what I believe is caramel in the middle. Depending on which cookie you get, it might have chocolate on top, coconut, and something else I didn't pay too close attention to since I was mainly just focused on the chocolate at hand. I picked out four of the small Alfajores, two milk chocolate ones, and two dark chocolate ones. When I got home, gave each of the Alfajores a try. While the Alfajores were nice, the cookie parts have more of a cake like property, and break down flaky rather than crunchy. The texture of the chocolate on the outside were nice, and had that good glaze going, so worked out well with the whole cake like texture of the cookies. However, though the Alfajores weren't bad, I have to say, they're not really for me, at least not these ones. The main reason why is that they really are not sweet enough for my taste. If you are someone who likes your desserts on the sweeter side, then I must warn you now that these are not the cookies for you. It's not that they're bland, but just doesn't feel like there's enough sugar that went into the blend of the chocolate they use to glaze the cookies. Unfortunately for me, it did not quell the calling of my sweet tooth, and I had to supplement it with something else after. Again, the cookie itself was great, but the chocolate, and even the caramel inside, just nowhere near the sweetness I had hoped for, albeit, I may be a sugar snob, so may be best just to try it for yourself. This review was strictly for the Alfajores, and I will be back in the future to try out their entree menu. While it's not a very large menu, as it's more like a cafe spot, than a restaurant, but the menu items that they do have, and the pictures that I've seen people post on Yelp has certainly gotten me intrigued, and of course, a little hungry, so I look forward to when I come back for those next time. The service is great, and the people there are friendly, and seemed like a family operated, mom-and-pop feel of a place. While you wouldn't go there for the bread, I certainly recommend trying out their Alfajores, since the crumbling of the cookies when I took that first bite was pretty rewarding, even if the sweetness levels were not as so.

Brooke P.

Yelp
Their tortas are so good. Fresh big and made to order. They have a fresh bakery / pastry items. We have sampled them as well as the ice cream. Their food is delicious. They are clean and welcoming. I love to come here.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this bakery and coffee shop after having dinner in Concord with family. We were looking for someplace to have coffee and luckily, Casa Del Alfajor's was open. The interior is very spacious with a lot of open room, plenty of seating and a wonderful display of their baked goods and kitchen. They offer baked breads and other Peruvian delicacies such as their Alfajores, a delicious cookie, reminiscent of a short bread cookie, with a dulce de leche filling and lined with shredded coconut, chocolate, or topped with pecans. They are also a full coffee bar serving coffee drinks from cappuccinos to drip coffee. The cappuccino I ordered with 2% milk and hazelnut was made very well and the coffee itself, brought in from a California roaster, was full bodied, rich, and overall very good. I am very happy to have stumbled into this little (not so little) bakery and cannot wait to go back.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Right next to Kansai Sushi restaurant is this little shop, which from the sidewalk outside is hard to tell what it is. There's a sign visible from the parking lot that says "Bakery & Café" but you don't see that from the sidewalk. When you get up closer, you can see the windows say "Rico Pan Bakery" and "Bistro Artisan Bread" and it's hard to tell if they are even open. However, once you get inside, what a surprise! This is a beautiful and spacious café. It's not small either. (Check out the photos.) They have espresso drinks and wonderful cookies (and bread and ice cream). With Wi-Fi, one could easily sip coffee, eat cookies, and get some work done on the laptop. Our visit was made especially pleasant by the chef coming out and describing the different cookies in the case. We wanted to try them all, but controlled ourselves. He was most helpful and we would definitely return. I also got a latte to wash down my cookie and it was smoother than what you get from the big chain coffee shops. Overall, this is definitely a 5-star shop. Check them out!

Yelp
A must have. Barbacoa Torta Ahogada with an amazing sauce. The bread soaked in all the flavor and it was just new to me. Very refreshing flavors and a masterpiece. I have never been to Mexico but after this....I might move there. Very great experience. I will now have to see if San Antonio can match this experience. Concord California area representing with flavor.

Talia D.

Yelp
Tortas are bomb! The hot sauce is like reallllly hot but so gooood. The type of bread they use is just like the kind you find in Mexico. I recommend picking up some bread for toasted sandwiches, you wont be disappointed!

Victor G.

Yelp
Casa Del Alfajor replaces Bonjour, a korean french styled bakery. place is huge. lots of seating offerings: latin american bakes, torta, coffee eats: butter cookie (10/2.50) -buttery, sweet tasting cookies, delicate texture. yummy brew: dark roast coffee(2.65) -bold brew, sippable drips: -had to repost, prior post got flagged. guess flagger can't read....thought it wasn't a lst hand experience.

Karina A.

Yelp
This place sprung up to take over the old Bonjour Korean bakery. I'm happy that this place is delicious as all hell! I remember specifically being bummed out that the bakery across the street from where I live when it was bonjour because I am a self professed baked sweets fiend. So far their selection is modest, especially for the size of the space, but I'm hoping this place prospers and adds more goodies to their repertoire. The quality is amazing and I was frankly shocked at how delicious the alfajores are. No, no-- I don't think you, dear reader, understands how incredible the cookies are. They are melt-in-your mouth silky with just the right amount of sweetness. They don't overdo the filling, but they don't skimp either. Also, the coffee is legit. I had the Salvadoran Santa Ana blend and I highly recommend. It's pretty smooth with a good, bold kick of flavor. They have soy and almond milk as non-dairy options, so bonus points for that. And I have to say that the customer service is epic. Oscar was behind the counter and offered us samples, which was a good idea because I was on the fence about the alfajores. Damn, fam, this place is goooood.

Mille C.

Yelp
Tiny mom-and-pop business in a cavernous space that is currently too big for them. Small, round metal bistro tables. Very friendly staff. I bought the Latin American version of alfajores. Rich fillings like dulce de leche are sandwiched between 2 shortbread type cookies. Got 2 each of the regular, chocolate, coconut and pecan flavors. TIP: Alfajores keep well in the refrigerator. Heat cookie for 10-15 seconds to soften the dulce de leche into ooey gooey deliciousness before consuming. Yummy cookie and bread samples but they need to expand their menu. Even better, post a menu so potential customers know what's available. At least 3 groups of people walked in and right back out while we were there. I myself didn't know they offered breakfast, salads and sandwiches until I looked them up on Yelp. But I wasn't tempted to order until the couple at the next table got 3 huge tortas. One, the hot sammie smelled divine. I had just eaten but my tummy was trying to convince me that it had room for more food. I am definitely coming back to try what looked similar to an Italian beef or a cheesesteak without the cheese. Shelves were pretty bare. Don't know if it was because of the holiday weekend. I think they should close up the back half of the shop until they need it. Build a wall and make it storage. Concentrate on making the smaller storefront bright, cheerful and enticing. Really hope they succeed because they have the goods. Now they just have to work on presentation.

Yelp
Oh the feeling of stumbling upon a real life gem! This place is priceless because of the sheer low key factor: they're undiscovered for their talent! After feasting our eyes and stomachs at Ohgane KBBQ a few doors down, my group and I wanted something of a dessert. Boba tea was majority rule but thankfully it was chilly enough outside that we ran into this bakery. It was late, around 830 in the evening at this point and the bakery closes at 9. There were still a few treats left in the showcase, mostly a variety alfajores. A really kind fellow, who I was later told is the son of the owner, let me sample a flaked coconut encrusted alfajores with caramel in the middle. Delicious!! and the short bread still so soft. I ended up ordering two of a variety of about 7 that they still had. The alfajores were roughly $2 each, I just wish I had a cup of Colombia coffee to enjoy with. I highly recommend Casa de Alfajores for their down to earth service and variety of goodies. After speaking with the son, he details about how they could have more baked goods if they gained the momentum and popularity from more diverse foot traffic. So, come on on and request those tres leches cakes, conchas, and other Latin goodies! Give them your business and let's help them explode! :)

Robert R.

Yelp
I went to check out new Bakery where Bon Jour used to be. According to Beyond the Creek, they recently opened. Cafe Del Alfajor looks the same inside but they have Cookies and coffee. I had ordered an iced coffee and a box of Coco Alfajor dulce leche cookies. The people who work there were nice and it seemed family owned and ran. They accidentally under charged me but they rectified the amount. They also gave me a free sample of the cookie and it was quite delicious. We will definitely be back to try more or their treats and coffee beverages.

M C.

Yelp
Good Alfajores and the owner opened the door for us to purchase when they seemed closed...

Stuart M.

Yelp
There's potential here but they're not living up to it. Food is meh, service is slow and confused, and the space is kind of dismal. Was excited to try the Chile relleno torta but it was a letdown - bland, not fully cooked, and slathered in cheap mayonnaise that was the dominant flavor.

Eric P.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this bakery and coffee shop after meeting with a client in the area. I was were looking for a place with wifi and to for coffee and a quick bite. The interior is very spacious with a lot of open room, plenty of seating and a wonderful display of their baked goods and kitchen. They offer baked breads and an assortment of alfajores. The chicken sandwich I had was great. The bread was fresh and made with a generous amount of meat and fillings. The alfajores were great as well!

Jenny F.

Yelp
The best Alfajor's I've had. Usually not a fan of filling in anything but these are made perfectly so the filling isn't overwhelming. There soft and not too sweet. Definitely a must try!

Whitney H.

Yelp
I want to add another five star review because this place deserves more attention (and more business). This place is amazing. They have Alfajor, which just happens to be a delicious Latin treat (I have a co-worker from Spain -- I brought her some and I've never seen her so happy eating something). The barista, I think his name is Oscar (I'll have to ask next time), is the most welcoming, cordial, and helpful individual I've encountered in food service in a long while. He immediately noticed that I had no idea what I was doing and gave me the rundown on their process: you grab a tray, use the tongs to select which Alfajor you'd like, then bring it to the counter where you can order coffee and food. And oh boy the food!!! The tortas they have (I tried the barbacoa one) are phenomenal and though I am a total wimp with spicy foods the hot sauce added great flavor. The second time I visited I ordered an omelette and it was so good I ate the whole thing. Which isn't always a bad thing but there was so much on the plate I probably should have taken some home. I'm fairly picky regarding coffee, and the latte and macchiato I've tried there have both been life-savers while I study. My only feedback is that this place needs to get more seating -- it's a huge venue and there are only six small tables or so. And more visibility! If you're ever in the Pleasanton Hill/Concord area make sure to stop here!

Xandra J.

Yelp
I've never had Alfajores before and very glad I went in here to find out and try some treats. If you're unsure about the flavors, they offer taste samples and the gentleman working there was very helpful and knowledgeable (even to double check for allergens). He even gave suggestions about flavors and explained the different types of dipping techjiques. Instead of just trying little samples, I got 1 of each of the small cookie flavors to try out. MAN! These are Soo good! Totally suggest drinking a cup of coffee or tea with these - and the dark chocolate really are the best flavor!!

C K S.

Yelp
Last few time we went and the alfajores just aren't the same anymore, always hard/over baked & not fresh.

Raquel C.

Yelp
My son brought home some goodies from this bakery last night and they're HEAVENLY!!! You know the feeling of tasting something for the first time and all you want to do is sing even though you're out of tune? That's exactly I did, I sang out of tune while munching on glorious alfajor!!! They're that good!! To top it all, I woke up this morning and the first thing I craved for was alfajor so I went downstairs, got a big piece of alfajor and had it for breakfast with coffee. So yummy! I gave some to my daughter and she texted me to say "Mommy, these cookies!!! Omg!" Now, I cant leave home without them so here I am in my car with a bag of alfajor to munch on all day long! I can't tell you enough how good their goodies are! Highly recommended!

Eva L.

Yelp
The best alfajor cookies in the world! OMG, I've been craving these cookies for days. I use to work in the area, and I stopped by here craving something sweet (thanks yelp)! This place is huge! There are so many selections of different alfajors. You grab yourself a tray and you select the ones that you want. I got a little carried away and before I knew it, I had 10 different cookies on my tray. Each one tasted heavenly. Yes, I ate them all myself.

First time here. Staff was polite the cookies were good and my mocha was probably the best I've had

Yelp
Very good alfajores and highly recommended though I've had better. I am a bit of an alfajor expert having eaten it at every place where it is available. Good and friendly service. I thought the display was a bit sparse and the big space was empty. Come over, people. It's worth the drive to Concord.

Yelp
Located at the Park and Shop mall next door to the Goodwill store and Kansai Japanese restaurant. This place is spacious with a bakery wall of bins filled with fresh made bread rolls and their sweet cookies, a variety of different alfajors, butter cookies, etc. They offer sandwiches (including vegetarian) and salads as well. The avocado sandwich was served on their freshly made bread roll $8. A+ It was the best, freshest avocado sandwich ever! The bread was perfect...truly a winner and their alfajors (power sugar and coconut small size) were buttery and rich. I recommend this place for a great sandwich and their specialty cookies. They offer a hot sauce which enhanced my sandwich, but it does have a kick if you add too much (I enjoyed it though). I'll be back for their avocado sandwich and will try their other vegetarian sandwiches. They do offer meat sandwiches and salads as well.

Yelp
Okay let me start off by saying THANK YOU! Thank you to both young men that went out of their way to make me a happy customer/human and for restoring my faith back in humanity (well at least until some mofo completely takes me back to the the land of WTF). I took my daughters here yesterday and everyone was so sweet and gave us free samples! When I went to check out they asked why there was nothing for me. I explained that I have Ulcerative Colitis (this ain't webmd so I wont give details but it sucks donkey butt and really messes with my quality of life). I can't eat much. The two young men working here went through everything they had available to cook and made me something totally not on the menu so I could eat with my girls. Being in the restaurant business has got to be hard because of all the personalities you have to accommodate and deal with...for me I hate going out because I feel like such an a-hole when I have to make my order all customized and usually staff makes me feel like I am difficult. These guys actually wanted to learn and to help...Wow,...I was truly taken aback. The food was excellent and fast but what I really want to push here is that finding a restaurant that truly wants to make their customers happy and realizes the healing/emotional connection we all have with food is totally amazing and you all should go and support it. Although I could not eat the Alfajores that looked amazing..my girls assure me that they must serve these up in heaven...at least in the waiting line my youngest said.

Yelp
This bakery is located within a plaza full of restaurants so this is a good place to stop for desserts. They make their own Spanish cookies-Alfajors and taste great. From the outside, it doesn't look so big but once you walk in, this place is huge. Plenty of tables and space for people to eat. They also deserve food here. But I am strictly only giving this review for the service and pastry . We met the 2 brothers as this is a family owned restaurant/bakery. We (my husband, Chris and I) were greeted as soon as we walked in. We were asked if we had ever been there before and if we ever tried their Alfajor cookies. We told them no but we saw their yelp reviews and decided to stop in since we were in the area. We were automatically offered samples of the different types of cookies. They are actually short bread cookies so if you love shortbread, you will love these cookies. The plain ones were tasty, chocolate ones were good but a little too sweet for me-my nieces and nephew love them because they have chocolate inside the two cookies and around it. They also have another one that is shaped like a ball and it has coconut, has a similar taste to a coconut macaroon which is delish! We bought enough for 2 separate households and they had boxed our pastries according to each household. Service was perfect and cookies not made anywhere else in the east bay. Definitely coming back to try their menu item foods.

Yelp
Absolutely Delicious! My husband and I ordered a Torta de Chile Relleno and Torta de Barbacoa. The Chile was cooked perfect and was not greasy at all! The Barbacoa was perfectly paired with the best bread ever! Even the side salad was delicious and full of flavor! We got some pastries to go because we couldn't resist after some samples! Prices are perfect too! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Yum!!! The Alfajor cookies are a delicious shortbread filled with dulce de leche. So delicate and full of flavor. Customer service was great too. They've got a large space so it's a great spot to chill out.
