"There are two reasons to make a beeline to this Roma Norte restaurant and they're both focused on pork. This spot's large staff welcomes diners at both lunch and dinner, but everyone is focused on the food. Cochinita pibil and lechon tacos compete for your attention, so get both. Good quality tortillas get things off to a good start. The slow-roasted, marinated pork that's shredded and enhanced with pickled red onions is top notch, while the lechon tacos plate tender, roast suckling pig with pieces of crispy skin for a standout bite. A wide range of salsas is on offer, from spicy habanero and a sesame aioli to mild yogurt sauce." - Michelin Inspector

The 38 Best Restaurants in Mexico City | Eater

"Tapping into diners’ interest in Yucatecan cuisine, restaurateur Gabriela Cámara opened Castacán in spring 2024. The menu’s stars are the traditional cochinita pibil, the roasted suckling pig, and the crispy castacán (Yucateco pork belly). Order a taco of each to try the full range or go for a torta if you feel more ambitious, along with side orders of black refried beans, cheese, or longaniza sausage. The quality of the tortillas and salsas match Cámara’s care and respect for Yucateco traditions, but the look and feel of Castacán is entirely CDMX: bright pink floor tiles, eye-catching signs, and walls lined with intricate mosaic tiles. Know before you go: For the IYKYK Mexico City souvenir, grab a tote, a trucker hat, or a T-shirt from Castacán’s hot pink collection." - Natalia de la Rosa

The 19 Best Taco Spots In Mexico City - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"Castacán, run by the same crew behind Contramar, is vibrant with colorful tiles, loud music, and metal folding chairs. It’s got a lot going on, unlike the menu, which is refreshingly simple: just Yucatán-style pork tacos and tortas, plus vegetable versions thrown in for good measure. The highlight is the $2.50 taco de cochinita pibil—slow-roasted piglet drenched in juices that’ll leave your hands (and probably your shirt) a mess, but the one with lechón con castacá, tiny pieces of fried pork belly, is a solid pick. For a tad more flavor, add avocado for 75 cents. Castacan keeps the drink menu straightforward, too, with Carta Blanca beer, rosé and white wine by the glass, and super sweet but totally great Boing guava soft drinks." - guillaume guevara

We dropped in for an early lunch and cannot recommend enough. Alfonzo was our server and was helpful and extremely attentive! The tacos were delicious as well as the chicken lime soup. Some of the best tacos we’ve enjoyed in Mexico, definitely worth a visit and we’ll be back

People will say that these are overpriced tacos. And they are. But they are 100% worth the hype. I tried the “lechón con longaniza” and “lechón con castacán” and they were both heavenly. I also went for the cochinita panucho and the frijol con puerco, which I absolutely loved. There’s this thing in Mexico where the locals praise themselves for knowing the best tacos ever, and they despise anything that seems a little bit more gourmet. Castacán is the kind of place where tacos are made with real ingredients, respecting the authenticity of the traditional flavours and where they deliver an amazing culinary experience. Definitely recommend.

The fried pork belly is a must. It's just so good. Otherwise, any of the lechon options are pretty good as well. Loved the nopales salad too. Oh, but most importantly, the tapioca with milk and coconut flakes was amazing. Very attentive and kind staff.

The meats here had such deep flavors. The food was bomb and the service was very friendly. Do NOT sleep on the dessert. We got the yogurt ice cream with chocolate crumbles to cool our mouths down, and it was SO creamy and had a perfectly balanced sweetness. The perfect ending to a great meal.

Great restaurant we found on the Michelin website (no star), what incredible food, from the tacos to the deserts 👌 great value too, highly recommended. Best tacos I’d had since San Miguel de Allende!
