Chicago’s Best New Brunches | Eater Chicago

"Indulge in bottomless mimosas made with guava, pomegranate or orange juice along with dulce de leche french toast and steak & eggs with chimichurri sauce at new Lincoln Park restaurant Ceiba. Beyond the Latin spins on American brunch classics, chef Armando Gonzalez also offers a taste of traditional Oaxacan fare with tlayuda made with chorizo and banana pepper salsa, and mushroom huarache smothered with salsa verde. Make a reservation through OpenTable." - Sam Nelson

Ceiba - Review - Chicago - The Infatuation

"We don’t know much about Ceiba in Lincoln Park, apart from reading that it’s a modern take on Latin-inspired food. That, and their menu is full of shareable dishes like braised lamb shank with butternut squash risotto, chicken barbacoa flautas, and a surprising number of vegetarian options. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Everyone in our party of 6 loved this place! There was a diverse selection of dishes to choose from and we all ordered something different. They were willing to substitute veggies for me due to an allergy and the brussel sprouts they whipped up were incredibly delicious. They brought my niece a special dessert because we were celebrating her graduation. The one choosing was most of the the came out over hard instead of easy. The one caution I would offer is parking can be tough but we lucked out there as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Made a reservation here on a weekday just hours before. No issues with that and it wasn't very crowded anyways. We parked on the street but street parking won't always be available (and usually won't be free). The food exceeded our expectations certainly. The portion sizes are very large and generous. The form factors of the food are quite creative and exciting. The food tasted great. Overall our experience was excellent with good servers and timing as well. I saw other really awesome dishes at other tables too so I want to come back. Thanks! Hope you enjoy too.

Google
The food and drinks were so good! We had the ceviche, octopus, barbacoa, flautas and the cauliflower for 4 of us and they were all so good. The octopus, cauliflower and ceviche are a must. I also had the pisco cocktail and if you like pisco it was good!

I stopped in at Ceiba with some friends for brunch this weekend and LOVED it!! We had mimosas which came with a few different juices (guava, OJ, and pomegranate). I had the chorizo eggs Benedict and it was phenomenal. Everybody loved their food, I would absolutely recommend trying this spot before it’s fully booked!

Google
Realistic review- it was OKAY. We had the stuffed poblano pepper which was still very crunchy and not roasted right but filing was good. The ceviche was BOMB and the flautas were a joke-the chicken was drier than a jerky. Cocktails were good but not wow. So lower your expectations before u go. Way better places out there. Service was good as well

Google
We had a delicious meal last night at Ceiba. They only opened 2 weeks ago, and the service and food were both wonderful. Highlights included the octopus, the ceviche, and the lamb shank. The food was beautiful and full of flavor. They don’t currently have highchairs so be sure to bring a portable one if you have a little one. They were so accommodating to the little ones in our group. We can’t wait to come back!

Google
ONE OF BEST KEPT SECRETS IN LINCOLN PARK! The food is SPECTACULAR and service ( John is my favorite) is amazing! I eat here at least three times a week. The weekend brunch is also amazing!!! The drink menu is beautifully curated.

Google
As a Latina dietitian with culinary background, this became one of my top places when visiting home in Chicago. There are many great resistant with Latino flavors who know how to blend creativity with tradition. This is of them ! Nestled right in LP so no need to head to River north

Yelp
If you see this, go here! Everything We had was fabulous- this place is definitely slept on and up and coming! The portions are very large so it's a great spot for groups! The service was phenomenal, I didn't ask for our waiters name but he was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed! HIGHLIGHTS: Squash risotto was my favorite!!! The ceviche was the runner up along with the cheesecake!

Yelp
Tried this place last weekend with friends and we were pleasantly surprised. Service is exceptional, the space is nicely laid out- plenty of space and privacy between tables. The food is great! We tried the pulpo (octopus), flautas, cauliflower salad and braised lamb shank. Servings are HUGE and each dish that we tried can easily feed 3-4 people. I will definitely come back to try the other items on the menu.

Yelp
Wanted to try this new Latin-American inspired restaurant that opened in Lincoln park a few months ago. I was very curious what the new owners brought to the neighborhood since this space had been several different concepts over the handful of years. When first walking in, I loved the new look of the space. It definitely has a more welcoming feel than the prior concepts and the big bar area is finally being utilized for its potential. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They recommended several house favorites for dinner along with cocktails, which I personally appreciated! I tried the refreshing Health Kick cocktail which I recommend if you want something smoky and a bit spicy. For dinner I had the sesame crusted salmon which was very delicious! I am very picky when it comes to salmon because some places over cook it and it's dry, but they had it seasoned and cooked perfectly!! Overall, very good addition to Lincoln park and I will definitely be back to try their other dishes! PS - They also have happy hour on days during the week, and breakfast and bottomless mimosas on the weekend!

Yelp
Was super excited to try this new place in the neighborhood! All of the staff we encountered were so friendly and nice. They went out of their way to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. I also love that they coursed out our meals. We ordered the Lake Shore Drive for drinks and it was such a fresh take on an Aperol Spritz. Would definitely order again! For food, we ordered the Chile Relleno, Flautas, and Pulpo. Chile Relleno: so yummy! The stuffing in the pepper helped cut the bit of spice from the pepper and elevated the flavor profile nicely. I love anything with goat cheese and this was no exception! Flautas: out of control good! The chicken itself was juicy and seasoned nicely. Everything on top of the flautas from the veggies to the sauces, were so fresh and delicious. I would 100% come back for this dish. Pulpo: great octopus dish! The octopus was super fresh and tender. I loved that it came with crispy garbanzo beans - not something I expected, but they certainly added to the dish! I also likes the lemon vinaigrette it came with - it added a nice, light lemon flavor throughout the dish. Would definitely recommend you try this new spot!

Yelp
Stopped by Ceiba late on a Thursday night and was blown away by the food quality and the friendly service. Our waiter, Paola (hopefully spelled properly!), was wonderful and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the salmon and my friend had the chicken -- both of us cleaned our plate! The spot itself is perfect for a date night/girls dinner and the folks who work there made it even better. The owner/chef and the manager all came out to check on us -- so kind! They just opened, so definitely go show them some love!

Yelp
Flavorful dishes across all three categories of vegetarian, meat, & seafood. Tasty drinks too. Good attentive service.

Yelp
Love this new restaurant in Lincoln Park! I'd been eyeing it for a while and am so happy I stopped in last Friday night. Upon arrival, we were served butternut squash soup, which was delicious. Our server was great and each plate we got was phenomenal. Some of the best food I've had in the area in a while!

Cassie L.

Yelp
The service here was great, Jose was excited about the food and knowledgable. Loved the burrata salad, the pulpo with chorizo (crispy chickpeas, hello!), and lamb shank barbacoa. The food was excellent. Everyone was really welcoming, and the cocktails were delicious. Great for a date night!

Yelp
New and a hidden gem on N Clark, highly recommend! Great cocktails, amazing high quality food is so worth it. My favorite dish is the acorn squash with truffle risotto... every bit was delicious. Others in my group had the fish and the chicken dishes. Mouth watering and large portions that you could share. It is easy to walk in and the dinner is one of my favorites. If you live in the Lincoln Park area, it is a must try place!

Yelp
First off the food was absolutely a 10/10. I was blown away by everything I ate here, the flavors were amazing and I felt the dishes were unique. My favorites were the Colombian soup (soup of the day) and the branzino, the roasted fish of the day, but everything was very tasty. Second, the service was excellent. I walked into this review a little bummed and prepared to dock points because when we walked in, the music was so loud I couldn't hear a single thing. As the dinner progressed, I learned that there was a special event going on for a friend of the owner, a little party type thing. Our server was incredibly accommodating about this and someone (chef? Owner?) even came out to apologize AND we got a free dessert. Plus the event was lowkey lit anyway. I would just call ahead and ask if there's anything going on that night in case it isn't your thing. Would love to experience on another night as well and come back to try everything else on the menu!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! We've now been there 3 or 4 times. Each time as good as the last. Food is delicious, as are the drinks. The staff is delightful as well.

Yelp
Just a great place on all counts. We live nearby and will put CEIBA into our line up. We weren't expecting to be dazzled. Past restaurants in the same space were sub par. Delicious food. We enjoyed cauliflower, acorn squash with risotto and salmon with black sesame seeds. Bluntly, the best versions of these dishes had to date. Very well executed and great service. GO!

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner at Ceiba. Food was creative and well prepared, drinks were on point and the service was outstanding. We loved the Pulpo and the Callabaza and we can't wait to return to eat through the rest of the menu.

Yelp
This was one of the best eggs Benedict's I've ever had! Incredible. Place has a great vibe and good service.

Elena M.

Yelp
The food was beautifully prepared and delicious. The service was warm and attentive-- they even brought out free soup for us to taste before our food arrived! Glad to have this spot in the neighborhood.

Yelp
First but definitely not the last visit to this brand new restaurant. Superb attentive service with a smile. The food was simply outstanding - tender octopus and soft, falling off the bone lamb shank. The portions are very generous and we had no space left for dessert. In summary- best meal we had in years and a very welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Keith H.

Yelp
Terrific new place. The space is cool, the staff is attentive and the food is excellent. We had the cauliflower, salmon and the chicken. They were each creative and tasty. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Amazing dishes, salmon, chicken flaunta, excellent service in a fun atmosphere. I don't review places too much, but this place is worth it
