Absolutely delicious! Service was wonderful as well. The squid ink pasta had a crispy and soft, creamy texture with the hint of mint that made it delightful. The fungi bruschetta was definitely my favorite however. Super flavorful and crunchy!

Went for restaurant week and you got so much good food for a great price!! The fried artichoke had such a delicious sauce and every single pasta was amazing. The gnocchi was so soft it melted in your mouth. All of the dessert also knocked it out of the park. The citrus tart was extremely fresh and the caramel budino was to die for!

Excellent food, excellent service. Came by for an early dinner on Monday and was seated promptly at the bar. The bartender David was extremely friendly and helpful in sorting through the menu. I opted for the Trio since it's such a good deal, as well as some bread on the side. The bread was served warm with a light butter, very filling and delicious. The sausage pizza was perfect - great flavors and texture. I could only finish half by myself, so I would consider sharing this with a friend. The highlight of the meal, however, was the budino - an incredibly tasty and appropriately sized dessert. Overall I was very satisfied with my meal and look forward to coming back!

We sat outside for Eat on Broadway. Great crowd and atmosphere on a nice evening helped prime the meal! Our kids split a pizza and my spouse and I shared the bread, meatballs and beets with ricotta- a great combo of flavors to start with. We then shared the tagliatelle, which was a tad spicy but overall, we also enjoyed. We has a full meal to take home and the kids earned Gelato by trying beets. I look forward to coming back! Note: there is a 20% gratuity added to bill. It was noted on the menu and the server made it clear to us as well.

We visited for the boyfriend’s birthday dinner- service and food were both incredible. The steak, gnocchi, focaccia and wine selection are to die for- highly recommend!!

Holy mother of all things glorious. Went with a group of friends for my birthday and I had the best meal of my 37 years. Absolutely fantastic from apps to dessert. Highly recommend you make room for a small bowl of pasta to go along with a TO DIE FOR hangar steak. Their egg white cocktail was delicious, too. The ambiance inside was beautiful and our server was just delightful. She accommodated our vegetarian friend with no qualms. I sincerely hope to be back!

One star in generous. Me & my husband came in tonight to dine— we ordered cocktails, appetizers & two entrees/pizzas. The best thing we ate was the bread. The Brussel sprouts were over done, the meatballs were underdone. The pizzas were so awful, we both had a single slice & didn’t even bring them home. They were so burnt on the bottom, you couldn’t taste anything else but char. One of our pizzas had a piece of GLASS or very hard plastic in it as well. The service was horrible and it took us about 15-20mins just to get the check, due to our server sitting on his phone. I don’t not recommend this place & will be following up about the GLASS found in our pizza.

The mezcal cocktail I had was delicious! Server was kind, and the pastas were incredible. The ambiance of the place is warm and welcoming.

Was walking around and came in 40 minutes til close. The server was able to get me an inside table immediately and I was able to order the Oyster Mushrooms in time. I waited quite a bit for the sparkling water, but luckily I was occupied with my phone so I didn't mind. When the food came, I enjoyed the flavors of the mushrooms. But I do wish there was a little bit less butter or oil in the dish or maybe a fresh garnish on top to balance out the dish. The ambiance wasn't too busy inside because there was seating on the street for Dine Out in Broadway. But it seemed like a normal wine and dine restaurant.

I believe this is my first time ever doing takeout for Italian food. I called in my order and the food was ready when promised. Staff was polite and was able to get in and out. I ordered a Margarita Pizza, Prosciutto Bruschetta, and Spaghetti Carbonara. Everything was delicious, however, I did notice that they have eliminated all Bruschettas from the menu and their spaghetti carbonara. The spaghetti carbonara was the best thing we ate. It had a hint of spiciness that made this dish stand out. The margarita pizza was also perfectly cooked. It had the perfect amount of cheese and sauce, and the crust was amazing. I will admit, I was disappointed in their bruschetta offerings. They offered three different bruschettas, but no traditional. I will definitely consider returning, would just have to take a look at their menu before. Will only see my self returning if they bring back that spaghetti carbonara.

I live very close to Cere's and wish it could deliver, but unfortunately it consistently disappoints. While the food is always very good (albeit, the half portions are very small) the poor service overshadows the experience. The restaurant is consistently understaffed, so the staff that are working are waiting almost every table single-handedly, resulting in long wait times to take your order and thus for food to be delivered. As a result of the consistently low staffing, the restaurant is often times fairly empty, so the ambiance suffers as a result.

This place is AMAZINGGGG The pizza was one of the best I've ever had. Sometimes I think places overdo it with the honey on pizza, but they put the perfect amount of honey. The bread was crispy on the edges but soft under the pizza which is honestly something I've never experienced before and I LOVED IT The orecchiette was also to die for. You can tell it's so well made and the flavor profile is truly chefs kiss. 100000/10

I came with a friend for restaurant week and everything was DELICIOUS. Seriously, I wanted to lick the plate after every course. Cere's had a cozy environment and great cocktails - it would be a great place for a bit of an upscale date or dinner with friends!

I am here to tell ya all about the delivery experience! I ordered the Bigoli all'Amatricana and the Tagliatelle alla Gricia. both were packaged well and piping hot. I opted for the half-orders as I wanted to try both. The servings were not large, but tastefully petite. I did not feel overly full or stuffed which was appreciated. Clearly the quality was high and this was very obvious with the bigoli dish. Overall this is worth a try! And I think it's be even more special in person.

This was a weird one. Went for restaurant week. Staff seemed off, our server was terrified the entire evening. Apparently there had been a recent sea change and everyone was on eggshells. Wine offerings were good exceptional. Pasta course was amazing but the salad and main were misses. The main was a fish presented in an inscrutable sauce, a watery red pepper ketchup. Bill added up quickly and experience was not commensurate with cost. Would go back for pasta and a glass of wine.

It was my favorite restaurant! Great food, service, menu, and ambiance. I'm so sad it's closed. Does anyone know why????

Had the WORST customer service experience of my life here. Save your time and money and take yourself ANYWHERE ELSE!! Edit to owners response: this was actually my first and LAST time ever coming to your establishment. Please do at least base level research before coming on the internet and berating paying customers. This unprofessional response to a very honest and fair review just furthers my point that you guys aren't customers service oriented AT ALL

Did you know that Wake N Bakery up the street serves coffee with THC it? I promise this is related to my experience at Ceres' Table. OKAY so I was at Wake N Bakery, but got a phone call in line. I told my friend "just get me whatever you're getting" not understanding that actual THC is in the coffee. He obliged, got me a coffee with like 40 mg of THC- 40 mg more than I've had in like ten years because I CANNOT CONSUME THC WITHOUT FREAKING THE FUCK OUT. I realize like 30 min later that I'm in trouble when I start feeling nauseated and terrified. He suggests I just need to eat something. We go to Ceres'. We sit at a booth and I'm trying to tell him that I think the world is ending. The waiter, a very kind and blurry man as far as I recall, asks us if we want something to drink. Tears in my eyes, I say to my friend "Please don't make me do this." (No clue what I was referring to) Somehow things got escalated and like a sommelier comes to the table and asks what I want to drink. I panic and say "PLEASE JUST BRING US TWO GLASSES OF YOUR CHEAPEST RED WINE AND THE CHECK." My friend was confused. I was also confused. I think my friend got a flatbread to go or something. I think every interaction I had with the staff was super rude and weird. I AM SO SORRY, IT WAS AN ACCIDENT. So if you find yourself accidentally extremely stoned and in the midst of a nervous breakdown, the kind people at Ceres' will be super chill (though probably really confused) while you grip the table in an effort not to fall off the face of the planet. So so sorry, kind staff of Ceres'. I'm pretty sure my friend left like a 200% tip by way of apology at the time though.

My significant other and I had tickets to the laugh factory down the block and needed to leave by 6:20PM with our reservation beginning at 5PM. We conveyed this to the restaurant when we made the reservation and they accommodated us so wonderfully! We never once felt rushed and all the food and drinks came out in a timely manner. When we sat we immediately placed a drink order of dirty martinis. We were given a small complimentary glass of sparkling wine while we waited which was a lovely surprise. Our wait was very brief and the martinis were made very well. My partner even went as far as to say that it was the best martini he had ever had. As for the food, we ordered the burrata and the fritto misto as appetizers. The burrata was so creamy and paired incredibly well with the prosciutto on the grilled bread. It was not overly seasoned and allowed for the natural delicious flavors of the meat and cheese to shine through. The fritto misto consisted of rock shrimp and calamari that had a very light breading. After squeezing some lemon over it and dipping it in the Calabrian chili aioli, I'll have to say, it is probably my new favorite version of fritto misto. The seafood was incredibly fresh and the chili aioli gave it the perfect kick without completely overwhelming it. Our entrees were phenomenal and we both finished our full dishes. My partner ordered the prime flannery beef sirloin cap, which our waiter explained is a rare cut to find. He ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. I tasted it with the capers and chili oil and it was a wonderfully unexpected combination of flavors. I ordered the branzino alla griglia and it was the perfect size (about the length of my forearm). I was incredibly impressed with the deboning as I only came across 1 or 2 bones towards the head of the fish, but nowhere else. The fish tasted very fresh and had the perfect mixture of the crispy skin and soft flaky meat. The steak came with a tomato salad and the fish came with bitter greens, which were both very good, BUT my favorite dish of all was the side of creamy polenta with chives. It was not too gritty or overly rich. The smoothness reminded my partner of mashed potatoes. It was extremely satisfying and I'd go so far as to say it is something I could see myself eating on a daily basis. Our waitstaff was very attentive and we never really had to look for them or wait to ask a question. It felt like the second we looked up to find someone, there was someone already walking to our table. Our dishes were cleared right when we finished them and we never felt cluttered at all. It very clearly states on the website and on the menu that a 20% service fee is added in lieu of tipping and after the wonderful service we received we did add an additional tip even after the 20%. It was very well deserved. Overall, it was a wonderful experience of service, delicious food, and well-made drinks. It's a bit pricey, but incredibly fair for the quality of the food and service we received! I'd like to go back and try their house made pastas and pizzas one day. I will definitely be recommending Ceres' Table to my friends and family for their future date nights!

We dined here tonight for restaurant week. We were really excited to try this Michelin star rated restaurant. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed at the overall food and experience. First We ordered the meatballs and the fried artichoke. Meatballs tasted identical to the bagged frozen kind one buys at the grocery store. We asked for some sourdough bread to accompany it- they gave us two slices of cold, hard, cardboard-like sourdough. I would rate the meatballs 5/10. Bread 0/10. The fried artichoke had interesting flavor but the amount that was served was extremely underwhelming. But it did not taste fresh. It almost resembles the artichokes you would get from a can- just fried. 2/10 overall. Clams pasta had a great flavor. Although the clams were very small, with very little meat inside- and most of the clam shells had no clam in them. It was merely shells. The flavor of the pasta was delicious. Although the spaghetti itself was extremely underdone. As a restauranteur I am always pleased when a restaurant manages the perfect Al dente noodle- this was not that. My pasta was crunchy- overall very disappointing. 3/10 Ravioli was hard to eat- the pieces seemed undercooked as well- when you tried to stab a bit with your fork it would crumble off into tiny bits that were impossible to pick up. Flavor and sauce were tasty. Overall 3/10 Unfortunately our main courses were the biggest disappointment. The chicken was extremely dry and over cooked. It tasted like a grocery store rotisserie chicken that has been sitting under the warmer all day long. We took two bites before leaving it. 0/10. The salmon was an improvement, but the fish itself was very bland. And the accompanying croutons and tomatoes didn't add any wow factor to the flavor. I would rate it a 4/10. On a Thursday night they were drastically understaffed. We waited an average of 30 minutes between each course and were so hungry by the end of the meal that we stopped at another restaurant on the way home. Never once did our server apologize for the long wait. We sat down at 6:15 and were sitting there till 9pm. Unfortunately this was a complete waste of money, which saddens me because it would be nice to see Lakeview East have an upscale Italian place like this.

Pretty good food and a nice patio for outdoor seating. We got the finocchiona pizza, soft shell crab, and the squid ink pasta. Overall the food was good but I wasn't really wowed by anything. I really liked the pizza, the garlic olive oil was a nice touch to add depth of flavor with the sausage and mushroom. The soft shell crab was pretty good, it's covered in a butter tomato sauce that felt very indulgent. I think it might have been better if it were fried to add more texture and the sauce felt a little too heavy and salty after several bites. I liked the squid ink pasta, it had octopus in it and it was cooked well. Again, I felt like the sauce was decedent but got a little too salty towards the end of the dish. Overall a pretty good experience and tasty food but I felt like this place was a little overrated. I'd recommend the pizzas and the squid ink pasta.

Ceres' Table has been a favorite of mine in this neighborhood for many years. It's perfect for pre-show dinners when I attend nearby Timeline Theatre. I was curious to see if they're still on their game, post-pandemic. They are. On a recent weekend evening, we enjoyed a pleasant meal. Arugula salad was fresh and delicious. My companion's salmon was tasty and nicely presented. I had a sirloin cap steak - an atypical beef treat for me - it was ample and delicious. As in the past, the long list of Italian wines had plenty of good choices. The staff were all congenial and helpful. We sat at our favorite table. We left with smiles on our faces, having had a fine time...

Yikes. The first time my husband and I came here, we ordered wine and a bunch of food. The server came back around 20 minutes later telling us multiple dishes were no longer available due to a supply shortage issue...so we switched it up and asked for a different dish, but turns out that was also no longer available. We didn't want anything else, and didn't want to just order pizza. We were mostly annoyed that the server didn't tell us this earlier before we ordered wine and wasted our time. The manager was nice enough to comp a burrata appetizer for us to have with our wine. That took 20 more minutes, which was annoying since it's just cheese... Second time we came, they had all items available, so we ordered what we originally wanted. Unfortunately, everything was super average tasting, with really small portions. Tiger shrimp were $20 for 6 small shrimp? Gnocchi was $24 for a few bites of overly cheesy gnocchi? The beef short ribs were like steak, requiring a knife and fork to eat, instead of tender and falling apart like it should be. I'm more critical since this place is NOT cheap at all, but the food was very average with high price tags. If you want delicious food that is worth the price tag, head over to Ella Elli on Southport!!

What a beautiful location. The food was so yummy and the drinks were delicious. It seems like they have a rotating menu so some things on Yelp were not available. We got the Brussels sprouts, Margherita pizza and Calabrese pizza. I wish the Calabrese pizza was a little spicier but it was all delicious nonetheless. I usually don't love aperol spritz, but I got the aperol Betty which is an aperol spritz + grapefruit and it was amazingly refreshing. I would absolutely order all the same foods again but I am looking forward to trying new foods as well

Following dinning at this lackluster shit hole I suffered from a medical condition know as constipation. Just about passed out from bearing down. Whilst on the royal thrown I sought inner strength and remembered my server welcoming me by saying "they overbooked us for tonight. I told them we don't have the staff". In that moment I realized I was on my own. I had to reach within... and I says within I mean WITH IN. Yes, I resorted to entering myself as a solution to the agony. If you don't wish to sodomize yourself whilst looking dead in the mirror I'd dine elsewhere. Ceres's Table have turned my dwellings into Simon's stable. Be warned.

Ceres' Table is aiight I guess. .. Service was friendly, but super slow. We waited nearly 30 minutes for the Arugula Insalata. When it finally arrived I thought it was tasty despite the kitchen forgetting the red onion. I'm a sucker for a good bolognese and order it whenever I find it on a menu. They're best made with a combination of pork, beef and most importantly lamb. I suspect this Tagliatelle Bolognese is made with ground beef only. It wasn't bad just not particularly flavorful and lacked seasoning. The Whole Grilled Branzino was moist and cooked perfectly, but that too lacked salt. I get it's a simple preparation with lemon and EVOO, but a little salt would've gone a long way. Can't say I'll go out of my way to return. The wood fire pizza oven was nice to see close up. If there's a next time, I'll give the pie a try.

As delicious as the food tasted, I'm disappointed that we were made to wait five hours. This was New Years' Eve and almost everyone in the restaurant was made to wait long hours. Our server had only been working there two days. So clearly they were going through some stuff. We would have appreciated someone coming to our table just to explain what was happening. Maybe a comped champagne toast at midnight? I even sent them an email the next day that was ignored. Five hours for an expensive meal w no explanation just means we aren't valued. Lesson learned.

We got Ceres delivered and we were bummed that we didn't love it. The carbonara was dry and lacked flavor, the lobster agnolotti filling was oddly fishy (saffron cream sauce was great) and the steak tartar was so spicy and filled with Calabrian red chilis and drowning in red pepper flakes that we couldn't eat it. We are not picky eaters and would rarely/ ever leave anything but glowing reviews but we were bummed to have not enjoyed our meal. Hoping we can go and give it another chance at the restaurant rather than take out

Went here a week ago and it was beyond disappointing. We started by having a cocktail at the bar and it was obvious that the person at the bar had very little experience - not only in managing the bar but most specially lacking knowledge in making any kind of cocktails/drinks. Dinner was pedestrian and very pricey for the kind of food that you get. I was hungry and asked if we can have bread and I was told that it will cost $6 - I passed. We ordered was is named in the menu as bruschetta and it came out as toasted bread with stuff on top of it. Crostini would be a generous description of what we actually got. We also ordered a few pasta/risotto dishes and they were all disappointing. It's like eating in your high school cafeteria - and I'm being generous with that. I understand that we are all just trying to bounce back from the pandemic but serving less than acceptable food, charging high $$$ and imposing a 20% gratuity to the bill despite us having an inexperienced server is not acceptable. I call it taking advantage of the situation. You can skip this place and spend you money somewhere else.

TLDR: Food is meh, service is UNBELIEVABLY AWFUL. Where to even begin... We had 7:30p reservations; the place looked lively but not packed yet. We waited around the hostess' desk for about 5 min before anybody came to greet us. Not the worst thing in the world, sure. But that was probably the highlight of the night. We sat down and ordered cocktails. 20 min or so go by, still no drinks but the waitress comes back to take our order. We put in an order for some appetizers. 15 min later, the food starts coming out...STILL no drinks. We ask the waitress to check on our drinks and she disappears off into the night. Literally. 20 min later, we're getting coaxed to order our entrees, STILL NO DRINKS tho. We ask her AGAIN to check on our drinks. Just to be clear, I'm not an alcoholic who NEEDS to drink, okay? (But the occasional morning pick-me-up from my dear friend Jameson and the weekend day-drinking is perfectly normal. And everybody drinks at dinner. So.) ANYWAYS. Our mushroom risotto and bolognese entrees come out but my pasta is completely congealed. Like it had been left to sit at the bottom of the pot unsupervised like a 90s child at home. Mushroom risotto with the bone marrow was better but not incredible by anybody's definition. Now, I'm not high maintenance at all (Shhh!), but if I have to drink water with my meal like a church picnic, I'm gonna get peeved about things that are subpar. By this point, I've given up on eating my pasta ball with spicy (?!) bolognese sauce. I just wanna leave. But here's where it gets WORSE. We get the bill and the two drinks that NEVER CAME are on our bill! We ask for it to be taken off, which the waitress does (she finally gets one thing right!) but it takes like 45 min for her to come back to take our card. Also, they charge you a 20% service charge. TWENTY PERCENT. Meanwhile, our water glasses are empty and even with the best company in the world, date night is ruined... If you want to pay big bucks to be treated like crap, go see a dominatrix. So to sum it up: WORST restaurant experience in Chicago. EVER. Food is palatable but service deserves a slap in the face.

This place was truly a disappointment. I went with 2 other friends for restaurant week. Between the 3 of us and 4 courses each, we hated every single dish. We were really excited because of the reviews but now looking at more recent reviews, it seems like their kitchen and servers quit and they had to scramble to find new workers. It was our servers first day (which our experience wasn't impacted by) but it took an average of 30 minutes between courses to receive our food. None of the restaurant week meal descriptions matched what we expected to receive. The server recommended the romancesco which tasted like a boiled frozen plate of broccoli. In addition to our terrible food, we still left hungry despite spending $75 on our meal. The real icing on top was that the buser put our unused silverware BACK into the container to give to someone else. Truly disgusting. At this point, just temporarily shut down until you can train up your staff and get a better chef.

Amazing atmosphere and great food. Alex was our server on Friday evening, he was hustling, and making sure we had our food and drinks on time. I wish I took some photos of the food, it was definitely Insta-worthy! Restaurant is managed by a great GM, Chris, who was very personable and checked in to make sure the evening went well. Will definitely be back, one of the top restaurants in the Lakeview area.

Great food with delicious drinks. Surprisingly not very crowded, so it's a good spot if you are struggling to find a place for a big group. Service was good and waitstaff was very nice

Poor poor Kevin. Our waiter and the rest of the wait staff was carrying this place on their shoulders. I could go on about how crazy long the wait to get the food was, but my bigger issue was that the food was just flat out bad when it finally arrived. 1. The beet salad wasn't as described, had blue cheese on it? Most polarizing ingredient to leave off the description 2. Orecchiette desperately needed salt 3. Pork belly just bad. Came out cold. Broken polenta. We ended up eating a burger next door at Wilde (10/10 recommend wilde) after spending $219 at a poorly run restaurant with bad food.

Love this spot! Wonderful food, drinks and service. A Neighborhood gem! They really excel at using fresh ingredients with big flavor. Highly recommend.

Okay so this place was easily the best meal I've had in quite some time. Literally every dish was perfection. The prosciutto pallanceta and the risotto do funghi were stand outs. Our table also split the 32 oz prime and dear god was it amazing. The staff was also super friendly and fun, and the cocktails were perfectly made.

The food was delicious - but drink and overall service was extremely disappointing. It took us reminds 2 different waiters 2+ times for our two drinks to come, over 30 minutes after ordering. We then ordered a bottle of wine, which also took over 30 minutes which meant that we were already done eating before it came. The waitress didn't even apologize or offer any reason into why it was so delayed. I assume because there was no one behind the bar. I understand the impact of COVID on the restaurant industry and the need for a COVID surcharge on bills, but 20% is ridiculous. Other restaurants have done around 4% - 8%, which then allows you to add additional tip for good service. This meal/experience was not a 20% experience. This was not even a 15% experience. Would not come back unless management/service changed. Again, the food was delicious but this was a really disappointing and dysfunctional experience.

Let me start by saying our server (Leigh) was FANTASTIC! She new the menu and could describe how every dish was prepared. She also recommended a perfect red blend. The food was good I would definitely go back.

I haven't been here in a while. It's rare that someplace improves over time but this place has. I remember when it first opened and I thought it was great then. I only get here about once a year but I love it more each time I pop in. Sadly the funghi gnocchi aren't on the menu this time but luckily the branzino, that I've never tried, is. Pure love bursts in my mouth. This is of course, after the mixed olive appetizer that my dinner companion and I must wrestle over. The staff has changed over the years but always attentive, informative, and friendly. As a home gourmet cook, a small confession to add. This is one of the very few affordable restaurants in Chicago that give me a twinge of pleasure and jealousy when I eat there. I take a bite of something and think,"Damn. This is better than I can make." And that's why I come back.

Weekend happy hours! Thumbs up! Came for the happy hour on a Saturday. The place was not too busy, but still buzzing enough. The happy hour menu boasted a range of appetizers and drinks, all $10 or under. My partner and I shared the $8 Pizzette which was basically like a flatbread. It was delightful and a perfectly sized appetizer. We each had a glass of $6 wine which was very good for the price. They have a range of wine varieties, I think around 4, on the special. Overall the atmosphere was so-so, but a clean and open space nonetheless. Decent if not slightly aloof service at the bar. These two components lost the place a star. Overall, though, I think it's worth a trip back to try more appetizers in the future.

Group of 4 of us went on Saturday night in July Only 1 of us liked it. Overrated. High prices and small portions of average tasting food. Not good Salmon was awful Pastas were ok but overpriced and small portions Pizza was average at best. Not good Service was ehhhh..... No bread either. Have to buy it We won't be going back

Went to Ceres with some friends who were visiting out of down. The restaurant is modern and beautiful inside with great service. Our server was able to recommend some vegetarian options as well. My favorite item on the menu was the pane (ordered twice). Some of the best bread I have had with rich whipped butter on the side. Bone marrow risotto was a little too dry for my liking. The risotto was rich in bone marrow flavor. I had the smaller portion, which was more than enough for me but beware if you have a larger appetite. Not sure if I would visit again.

You know how you go to a restaurant you've never been to before and you feel so lucky bc the meal you ordered, as it turned out was life changing? Then you get a chance to go back a couple of years later and ofc the menu has changed (why wouldn't it? It's cool.). And you look at the menu and they don't have the life changing menu item anymore, but you find yourself walking by the place and you are hungry and you take the chance and you pick a different meal and it TURNS OUT TO BE LIFE CHANGING. Again. Ceres' Table is that place. A lot of things excite me. And I love food. But, it's been difficult to find flavors that excite me this year. I feel like I have experienced a sort of flavor anhedonia in 2021. Let's face it; it hasn't been the best year. And Ceres' Table took me gently by the hand and led me out of my mediocre sensorial funk. Thank you! I have to add that the service was beyond helpful. I wanted recommendations and they gave great ones! And were supremely nice. And- carded me! I'm 51. Made my evening.

Do yourself a favor. Go to Ceres' Table! Atmosphere-A+. Service- A+. The pane app is to die for. We ended up ordering it twice. The pasta verde was the best basil pesto I've ever had! What a gem in the Lakeview neighborhood! Don't delay. Visit. You won't be disappointed!

I absolutely loved Ceres' Table. I came at an odd time on an odd day, so I didn't wait for a table at all. From the start the service was amazing. Personal, friendly, not pushy. Each person who came to our table had a smile on their face and was genuinely interested in how our meal was going. I'd come back again just for the service. Food wise we ordered a Margherita pizza, charred broccolini, and the polenta. For 2 people this was plenty, maybe even a touch too much. The broccolini was tasty and a sizable portion for a side. It was chopped into small bite-size pieces which I appreciated. It was just slightly over-peppered. There were a few bites where black pepper was the main flavor. The polenta was creamy and flavorful. I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms but I appreciated the texture they added to the dish. Now onto the Margherita pizza. This was fantastic. The perfect size for 2 people. It was gorgeous when it came to our table. We also sat right across from the pizza oven so we were teased the whole time from the scents coming from it. You can taste how impeccable the quality of the EVOO they use is. It has a strong presence and I loved it. The cheese and basil were both incredibly fresh and the crust was perfect. Overall a great meal. Excited to come back!

First time here last night. Best espresso martini I've ever had The focaccia starter was good but nothing extraordinary. The PASTA though! I had the lobster agnolotti with saffron sauce. The crispy sunchoke was so perfect on top. My partner had the spaghetti all'amatriciana - the garlic and chili were just right. So yummy. I want about three bowls of it right now. Finally, the dessert - we had the chocolate mousse. I loved the chocolate shell and graham cracker crust. Would have wanted more toffee because toffee is gold. Will be back, soon!

DO NOT ORDER HERE. Servings are INSANELY priced for a kids meal portion. $13 for not even a bowl of pasta. Order took roughly 40 minutes to be delivered 1.5 miles away, and was missing items.

The place looks really unassuming and small from the street but inside it's much larger with a wide open space that's nicely lit. We loved how it wasn't cramped and dark like a lot of restaurants. Our favorite dish of the night was the Prime "Flannery" Beef Hangar Steak - delicious! Overall, the food was good, but did not wow us. Like very enjoyable but just not quite hitting the mark totally. For examples, The pork shoulder pasta was really good but just a tiny bit too salty. The Cookie desert was delicious but more chocolate chips would have made it SO much better! That was the theme of the night...just about there for a 4 star review but in the end while we really enjoyed our meal here I'm going to have to give 3.5 out of 5 yelp stars

Very good Italian food; the thin crust pizzas are standouts. The Flannery bistecca is a delicious piece of meats.Wine list is all Italian, extremely well chosen, and fairly priced.

Dropped in last weekend to grab dinner with another couple. If reviews are a bottom-line business, the bottom line at Ceres' Table is that this is pretty average Italian food, given the great choices of Italian food in an Italian-eatery-heavy environment. We tried pizza, pasta, and an order of meatballs...in looking around our table, there wasn't a single moment where any of us looking at anyone else and said "Damn! This is amazing." In fact, there were mostly looks at me, like "Hey man, why are we here again?" (We were there, in part, because I need to complete my run of Bib Gourmand restaurants from last year, but also because Ceres is about a block from The Laugh Factory, where we had tickets later that evening.) The space is great, the staff was great, prices were very fair. No issues with any of those...this came down purely to quality. The polpette (meatballs) were a bit overcooked, and the sauce was nothing special. The Stella--a pizza with prosciutto cooked into the crust--was strangely plain, without the kinds of flavors any of us were expecting (hoping) for. The orecchiette was tasty and the hint of mint flavors in this dish were above-average. The cauliflower gratin wasn't nearly as...well, gratin as I was expecting either; the dish was very light, despite my having a vision of this being a bit creamier/heavier as a side dish. Maybe that was for the better since I didn't put on too much weight after this meal. But still! And my negroni bianco was interesting--and at $11, a fair price for a cocktail in the city these days--but ultimately not interesting enough to order a second. Probably the only Bib Gourmand I thought of as a miss this year, you can do a ton better with Italian food in Chicago!

Exceptional authentic Italian cuisine. Impeccable dishes, all presented beautifully in a quiet warm elegant atmosphere. One of our favorite neighborhood spots. Service is always warm and inviting, professional and attentive. Every dish is made with care. We love the squid ink pasta, octopus and tenderloin. Wood fire pizza is the best in area.

I've been meaning to check this place out for years and finally had an excuse to last night. It's much bigger than it looks from the outside and not quite as intimate as I was expecting though I enjoyed the ambiance and decor. Good for groups and dates, and probably even for kids given the pizza options. I had the "creste de gallo al nero" which was a really unusual pasta dish but delicious. Very flavorful and not too rich/heavy. My companion enjoyed the chicken alla cacciatore - his one small complaint was that it would have been nice to have a small side like potatoes, etc. rather than a dish that was solely chicken, especially at this price. The service wasn't quite as fancy as I would expect for a restaurant with these prices, but I assume they are understaffed. Our waitress was plenty accessible though if we had needed any additional attention and I appreciated how long they let us linger, there was no rush to push us out as some restaurants are doing these days.

Worst dining experience of my life. Arrived at our 545 reservation and had 1 of 4 courses by 830. Severely understaffed which led to horrible service. Management kept trying to get us to stay saying food is on the way etc but never came. Eventually had to say we need to go, bill us for what we had. The manager (who is awful) attempts to bill us for the whole meal. Obviously we push back and he goes 20% off. We didn't even get 20% of the meal. He comes back with 50% off, I'm not paying 50% of my course meal for two meat balls. Do not go to this establishment until they have new management, I feel awful for the wait staff to have to deal with this as they are great people who truly cared. Get rid of the manager, or good luck ever seeing bib gourmand again.

We had a delightful evening at Ceres' Table. We utilized 'Open Table' to make reservations and that was slick and smooth. When we walked in, we had our place reserved and ready to go. The decor and vibe of the restaurant is clean, chic, and laid back. Getting to sit in a recliner while eating was a ton of fun! Our server from start to finish was excellent. He was attentive, friendly, and helpful. He alone deserved a 5 Star! The food prices were the weakest part of the experience. Everything just seemed a few dollars more than necessary. But it is an expensive area of Chicago. The food itself was good. My partner and I only got pizza, so we can only speak to that small portion of the menu. There is a wide variety of delicious food outside of the pizza, but the pizza seemed like the best bank for your buck! I had the pizza was cappicola ham, artichoke hearts, olives, and red sauce. It was yummy, deliciously flavored, and very filling! I'd definitely come back and get it again! My partner got the white sauce pizza with shrimp and parsley. He really enjoyed! He thought the taste created a buttery and scrumptious result! They also had an extensive alcoholic beverage menu: wine, cocktails, and beer. Perhaps next time we will try that out! Overall a great experience!

Delicious food - appetizers, dinner, and desserts are all a good portion size. They have a full bar including sambuca, which is a win for me. Definitely worth the Michelin star!

Went here for dinner last night with my boyfriend and overall had a great experience. Server was nice, food overall was good and we loved our drinks. I had their take on a daiquiri (I forget the cocktail name but it was pink and had a lime in it) and my boyfriend had their white negroni. We were both very happy with the cocktails. For apps we had the olives and the focaccia. The olives were delicious. I absolutely loved them. To me the focaccia was tasty but nothing special. I told my boyfriend it reminded me of matzah and it was a bit harder and dryer than I expected for a focaccia bread. I let my boyfriend eat most of it. For entrees o had the half order of spaghetti carbonara and he had the margherita Pizza and we split the charred broccoli. I love my carbonara. T was rich, decadent and beautifully presented. It was so rich though that I could never imagine getting a full order. The half is the perfect size. My boyfriend said his pizza was really good, but not what he expected from photos he'd seen on their site and social media so he was a little disappointed. The charred broccoli was the true disappointing part of the meal though. This should not be called charred broccoli - more like steamed, mushy broccoli. We saw one piece in our whole dish that had a slight char on it. While the flavor was there the texture is not what we wanted nor what is promised by the title of "charred broccoli". The dessert we had were the salted caramel budino and the trio of sorbettos. They were good but nothing spectacular. I prefer the sorbetto at the Mariano's vero coffee and gelato bar if I'm being honest. Overall we were happy with our meal, but if we went back we would definitely try something other than the broccoli.
