Google
This was some great Chinese food! A bit pricey, but large portions and worth it! Photo was my leftovers. Young gentleman who served me was exceptional!

Google
I got the crispy calamari appetizer and the spicy salmon roll, presentation was super nice and the dip for the calamari was delicious. Roll was very good, sauce on top was a good spice level. Service was great, my waiter was attentive, food came out quick, and everyone was very friendly

Google
This place is very good. The rattlesnake roll was very good. The kung pao chicken was good and not very spicy. Our server was attentive and nice.

Google
Food was good. We order take out and everything held up pretty well, granted we live 10 min away. The place looked very clean and well kept by all staff. Liked the floor to ceiling windows, to make the whole dinning area feel very open. I only gave 4/5 stars because their website did not work for ordering, and their prices were very wrong online. However, their posted menu online was correct, the user interface for ordering online was not correct. So I made sure to point this out in person when I picked up, they were kind and apologized for the misunderstanding. I paid, but others might not be so kind. Happy we tried it and made the list of take out spots for us.

Google
The food and service was great. For the price the atmosphere was cheap plastic plates felt like eating in a cafeteria. The one thing that bugged me the most was the waiter pre selected a 20% tip at check out and I do not feel that they should do that as they tower over you waiting to sign it on the tablet. Honestly I would have only tipped 50 cents less I was uncomfortable and won't be going back probably. I don't even remember any music playing either. Very stale environment.

My wife and I have been talking about this place for quite sometime and tonight we finally visited. We dined in and arrived around 6:30. The restaurant was about halfway full and we were seated right away. The restaurant had an open floor plan and average decorations. Nothing too fancy but a nice feel. We ordered the crunchy sushi roll, hot garlic chicken, and Mongolian beef. The waitress let us know that there would be be about a 10-15 minute wait on the sushi roll. We said that was okay. About 3 minutes after we ordered, the waitress came back and apologized for how long it was taking and she brought us some soup on the house. It was delicious. About five minutes after she delivered the soup, she came back, apologized and gave us free soda. A few minutes later, our entrees came out. My wife and I looked at each other thinking our meal didn’t take long to come out at all. The meal itself was delicious. The sushi roll was very good and our entrees were large, hot, and tasty. The service was very, very good as our waitress was friendly and prompt. We will be visiting again soon. We also noticed that throughout our meal, the front of the restaurant stayed busy with take out orders. I highly recommend trying this restaurant. Five stars for sure.

Google
We do.delivery about once a month and we love it! The delivery service is not as good as the restaurant itself so don't let it fool you. Delicious food and good portions. 8/10 almost always.

Google
Their food is delicious. Portions are good size. Definitely can expect to have left overs. I feel it is totally worth the price. Thank you for the authentic delicious food. We will definitely order again.

Yelp
PLEASE UPDATE YELP AND SAY YOURE NOT OPEN ON MONDAYS! The food and service is good. I'm from out of town and saw on yelp that you guys were open. So, I drove there in traffic just to be let down. So, my only complaint is updating your yelp page to reflect your hours of operation.

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner at Chef Lu's! The service is friendly and kind. The restaurant is spacious and beautiful paintings. The food was delicious! We had chicken fried rice and kung pao chicken! I highly recommend Chef Lu's for a flavorful meal!

Yelp
Service was wonderful! The lady helped us was extremely pleasant! We later figured out that she must be the owner too. The dishes came out as we expected, which was a good thing. Overall we had a good experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious and authentic! I had a sushi roll called the Cowboy Roll. Over never had anything like it and it was so good! It had seared Ribeye on the top. Brilliant! The owner who was also our server was the sweetest lady. I'm assuming she's Lu. We'll be back again when we visit from Missoula!

Yelp
We recently visited Chef Lu's. We've been there before, perhaps they were having an off night. Our rice was cold and hard! "Seafood" in our dish was a soggy mix of surumi (crab substitute) and tasted odd. Service was ok. It wasn't too busy and our server was hard to track down.

Cool J.

Yelp
After reading the reviews I decided to order from here to experience good Chinese food. I was disappointed. I ordered the combo fried rice (shrimp was way overcooked, lacking the traditional flavor), Mongolian beef (one of the better dishes) and moo goo gai pan (too many filler veges that belong in this dish like green peppers and celery). I'm still in search for an authentic Chinese restaurant in Spokane.

Yelp
I did like this restaurant before but tried to get takeout and was put through an annoying computer system that thinks it should be tipped for its inefficient yet convoluted service.Had some questions it couldn't field but was met with a shrill beep when calling. This prices up but service down philosophy is precisely why we get food from restaurants far less often.

Yelp
We've been hearing good things about this spot and finally stopped by for takeout. We got the crispy fish with prickly ash oil and orange sauce + pork chow mein combination dinner w/ general tso's chicken. I loved that the fish came with perfectly cooked broccoli and that the orange sauce wasn't too sweet. My husband really enjoyed the combination dinner. I stole more than a few bites of noodles! Service was fast and friendly. :)
google avatar

DJ V.

Yelp
I wish I could do a 3.5 stars because the service was good and 2 out of 4 items were nice. The general tso's chicken was tasty and so was sashimi(salmon, tuna and octopus). I did not enjoy the rainbow roll or the royal roll. My wife said the ginger beer was awesome. Overall I do want to go back to try other items besides sushi.

Yelp
3 stars for the really sweet older waitress we had! She was kind and attentive. We were greeted by a younger man that rolled his eyes at us and huffed and puffed when we walked in. He seemed to be on his break and was annoyed that he had to get the hostess. Food- was just okay, big portions but very pricey! Not much flavor in any of the dishes we ordered (garlic sauce with chicken & Mongolian beef w/ sweet sour pork combo) They got 3 stars for excellent service but I honestly wouldn't go back for the food.

Cindy D.

Yelp
One of our favorite restaurants! Always delicious! We get both Chinese food and sushi here and both are great!

Patty H.

Yelp
We received 2 orders & were charged for both. This is a misleading website. It's not easy to use.

David G.

Yelp
Y'all killed it tonight, got some takeout spicy garlic beef and lo mein. *5*. Ive always put additional notes on my orders and everything comes out fantastic.

Yelp
Yum!! I had to drive 6 hours from Seattle to Spokane today and my mom and I arrived HUNGRY! We quickly placed our order for 7:30 (approx when arrival would be) and showed up around 7:20, food ready to go! We got the crunchy roll (my fave), edamame, garlic beef (wow the mushrooms in this are amazing), chow mein with chicken and shrimp - all super delicious and ready to take back to our hotel to devour. If I ever come back to Spokane, I'll be hitting this place up again!!

Erica S.

Yelp
The food was surprisingly good. Very fresh sushi in addition to great cooked dishes. My husband says it is the best garlic chicken he has ever had. Service is kind. They give you space which is nice. Atmosphere is clean and basic. Feels a bit like a cafeteria but the quality of the food makes up for it.

T H.

Yelp
Most excellent food and love the service! Wish I could get a lunch special on the weekends! Mongolian beef one of my favorites. Spring rolls and fried rice and egg flower soup excellent also. Highly recommend!

Mine B.

Yelp
Excellent service, equivalent portions, and good prices. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to taste true Chinese dishes. I want to go back to try all the options they offer.

Yelp
Delicious! If you are looking for some traditional Chinese food with a twist, come to Chef Lu's! FOOD - 4/5 we started with the dumpling soup. It was good, but nothing special. We got a few sushi rolls for appetizers - fried California roll and the Philly roll, both were good (the Philly was a smidge heavy on cream cheese for my liking). For lunch we all got lunch specials which come with egg rolls and either white or friend rice. We ordered orange chicken with Lo mein noodles ($3 upcharge) the chicken was delicious! Very traditional approach to orange chicken, did not disappoint. We also ordered the pad Thai and general tsos chicken. The pad Thai was okay, you can find better elsewhere. The general tsos was good! Not too spicy, nice crunch. PRICES - 5/5 fair prices for the amount of food you get! We all had leftovers. AMBIANCE - 4/5 clean place with friendly staff! 4/5 stars! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Nice place to grab lunch or dinner when in the areas. Centrally located Chinese restaurant that is surprisingly quick almost every time I visit. High quality food and friendly service. Okay he large windowsill on the corner location are very nice especially on a cold winter day (those times when spicy Chinese food are the most pleasing).
google avatar

Deacon B.

Yelp
Don't try to order using Uber or door dash. They will throw your order on the bottom of the list. Especially if it's $200 worth. Totally screwed up our Valentine's Day dinner for the family. We are done. Best part was the dasher calling with a warning about how disorganized they were. Thank you Steven. Door dasher king. It's McDonalds for us now.
google avatar

Jeff B.

Yelp
Do you notice how all the negative reviews for this great place all come without any photos? Or, are a whiny rant about a delivery experience--again, without photos? Some people just need a double-shot of shut the heck up. These nice people don't deserve your delusional opinions. And judging by a packed house for a late lunch on a Friday (and, a mass majority of stellar reviews since they opened), your pissant comments aren't affecting them at all. Viva, Chef Lu's... Oh, and here are my pics by the way... ;)

Yelp
Was THE BEST Asian food I've had in AGES!!!! anniversary dinner was perfect and this is officially my new favorite place
google avatar

Yelp
1st time eating here, ordered to go through the Yelp app. I chose white rice because in the photos their fried rice looks to be filled with vegetables & I'm just not a veggie eater. Ordered sweet and sour pork, the sweet & sour was on the side, it was the thinner red sweet and sour sauce, which doesn't seem to have as much flavor. Food was ready before the time I was given which was nice & they were quick to bring my order out. Also came with a small egg roll.
google avatar

Gayl B.

Yelp
This review is for the lunch only. You'll find lunch time here during the week to be extremely busy. If you come at the wrong time during the lunch crowd, you might be waiting even though there are a lot of tables in a very open interior. We were lucky and were seated immediately, but we arrived just a little ahead of the noon hour. I had the chow mein lunch special, which came with fried rice and a small egg roll. I'd preferred to have either more chow mein with this lunch special or something else and skip the fried rice. It just seemed a bit odd to have chow mein and rice. The chow mein was very good, though, and I'm looking forward to visiting again and trying other menu items.

Yelp
They do not disappoint. Broccoli beef with extra garlic. The staff are super nice. Love this place

Yelp
I have been having bad luck with Chinese food in Spokane. I'm used to the Chinese restaurants that you find in a strip mall with all the pictures of the dishes posted above the register, which usually has the best Chinese food. Spokane doesn't have any of those unfortunately, but Chef Lu's is the next best thing! We have been here twice and have not been disappointed. The portion sizes are humongous for dinner. And their lunch prices are very good. I recommend the orange chicken, which has an amazing breading to it that does not feel heavy. They also have sushi there which I have yet to try, but I heard it is also good. Anyone that loves Chinese food has to try this place out. It is a great addition to Spokane's already growing food scene that continues to get better and better.

Doug J.

Yelp
Ordered take out. Big disappointment. I would swear it was from a different restaurant. Nothing like the same food ordered in the restaurant. Can't recommend takeout
google avatar

Yelp
Here is the deal...food is 5 star worthy...service needs improvement. The people where friendly, they just seemed overwhelmed. But that and my rating could improve with more experience! Ok now to the food...delicious! This could become a regular place for my family for the food alone. We tried the poke, pad Thai, Mongolian beef/sweet and sour combo and finally won ton soup. Needless to say we all tried a little from each plate. None of them disappointed! Portions are generous for the price as well! Hopefully our next visit with have a better service so I can give it the rating more deserved or the food!!!

Yelp
I love sushi, so freaking much. I am such a fan of all the authentic places we have here in Spokane that are working really hard to provide fresh ingredients and experience to us sushi lovers. I think that the more genuine the business owners are, the more that resonates with me as a customer. The fact that they have so many menu items is great for those who want a variety of things, like...me. I love nigiri, I always always order seared salmon nigiri and they did a great job with this. My husband had the red snapper, the yellowtail and another one and enjoyed those too. He also had the beef pad thai and ate every single bit. I am a very simple sushi person. I don't need rolls with tons of ingredients or heavy amounts of sauce. I am a typical tekka maki, tuna roll gal. Simple, fresh, that is all I need. They did a great job. I had the asparagus roll as well as the philly roll and both were super tasty. I also had the honey walnut shrimp and I LOVED it. I am always looking for honey walnut shrimp and there are only a couple restaurants that carry it, I think it is a chinese appetizer. Cannot go wrong with a hot cup of miso soup either. I will be eating here again. I love you Spokane and all your sushi shenanigans.

Allan H.

Yelp
This is the best Chinese food I have eaten in Spokane. If you love hot and sour soup, Chef Lu's is to die for. Service is great, atmosphere is great.

Yelp
General Tso Chicken was delicious and a huge serving! Not too spicy, just right. I also got a sushi roll, but can't remember the name of it. It was okay, not bad at all, I have nothing bad to say about it. It just isn't my favorite sushi spot.
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
The food here is good. I got chicken pad Thai and Philadelphia roll. The music is soothing. The server was kind.

Yelp
We love Chef Lu's!! Sichuan is an absolute delicacy for me personally, I'm addicted to the smokey, spicy, tangy flavors that make it so delicious. Chef Lu's has the nicest staff and a very clean restaurant. The menu is great for those just wanting something mild like pad thai, but they also cater to more unique tastes as well. Love the Chengdu chicken, dry fried green beans, delicious tofu, and eggplant. Thank you so much Chef Lu's, Spokane is very lucky to have you in our community. Hope you enjoy your well deserved summer holiday, can't wait to visit again soon!
google avatar

Kent B.

Yelp
Chef Lu's is a staple of our family's takeout and sit down food. The food is always hot and delicious and it's reasonably priced. One of our favorites!
google avatar

Nellie B.

Yelp
Oh, how we miss Chef J.J. and the lovely Monica in Cheney, but are thrilled they are doing so well with the new restaurant. And we've been here a dozen times since they relocated. We absolutely love their food. Whenever we make a run to Trader Joe's, it's always the one on the South Hill, so we can get our Chef Lu fix. It's my fave Chinese food in all of Eastern WA.

Jordan K.

Yelp
For takeout we got general Tso chicken, broccoli beef, chicken chow mein. All were disappointing. Gross flavor. Woman who took my order was super nice. Wouldn't have left a negative review but yelp asked for it so here ya go.

Daryl K.

Yelp
The Chinese food here is the best I could find in Spokane. I like how they do take out. I recommend the Han chow he fen.
google avatar

Joseph D.

Yelp
Great service and fresh food. Sushi was delicious. All the vegetables were cooked perfectly. No soggy vegetables.

Yelp
Cannot recommend Chef Lu's enough. Ten from me! CUISINE: So far, we have ordered the won ton soup (which is heavenly!), orange chicken, cashew chicken, chicken pad thai, and beef and broccoli. EVERY DISH WAS AMAZING! The won ton soup is pretty much the platonic form of soup. I've had others try it, and they agree - it's not just me! Seriously, their food is off the chain. PORTIONS: Can easily be enjoyed by 2-3 people. Best to order family style! SERVICE: The staff is smiling, friendly, and knowledgeable about their cuisine. One of the servers told us that she has eaten everything on the menu at different times, and she spoke informatively about many dishes on the menu. our second time there was just as wonderful. Our water glasses remain filled and they check on us without hovering. DECOR:. Asian fusion / casual. Pretty and laid back! NOISE LEVEL: Soft Asian music in the background. Nose level it's average, largely just the chatter of the guests.

Yelp
My go-to for Chinese or Sushi in Spokane. I have eaten here about 20 times, good service and outstanding food always. A few of this dishes they offer are ones I've not seen outside my travels in China, such as Fish with Prickly Ash Oil which gives your mouth a pleasant tingly sensation. I particularly like sitting at the sushi bar and watching the precision and thoughtfulness with which each sushi item is prepared. For an unexpected but delicious combination of flavors, try the Cowboy Roll sometime!
google avatar

Calvin L.

Yelp
Sushi was really good, service was fast and nice. We really enjoy, all the food. It really is a great little Chinese restaurant and sushi spot.

Shaina N.

Yelp
Food was excellent! Service was wonderful! The atmosphere itself was inviting, warm, and the music/playlist was awesome!
google avatar

Kirk H.

Yelp
Ordered it through Uber, it showed up almost inedible. The chicken was just plain mush, the sushi rolls tasted like they had sat out all day. I was pretty mortified based on the reviews and high prices. Skip this place. I'd rather eat at Panda Express.

Derek G.

Yelp
Wow, such a bad experience! Instead of leaving a long review about all the terrible things that happened... I'm just going to do a star review that I saw someone else do. DO NOT give these rude people your money. I will never be back. STAFF - FOOD - PRICE - DRINK - SANITIZATION - (Flys Everywhere) Waitress was a runaway waitress, I can understand if they were busy but we were the only people in the restaurant... overall terrible service and mediocre sushi.

Lisa H.

Yelp
Great food! Love Chef Lu's, I usually get the garlic pepper beef, but everything I've had there was excellent!
google avatar

Renee L.

Yelp
Amazing food. We eat there often. I really like the spicy fish stew. The fried rice is also excellent

Mimi M.

Yelp
I love this place. Its has such a variety of different asian food to try. You can get the standard Chinese dishes that are actually cared about. Yes the sweet and sour is pink and sometimes that's exactly what you want. Them also have Szechuan style meals, so if you like some kick, head to that area of the menu. I have really enjoyed their more modern dishes. Different and completely delicious. And they have sushi. The sushi tastes fresh but isnt overly complicated for most of the menu. They've also been completely willing to make a substitution and being allergic to avocado this is so nice. The other part is the people. They care about their food and customers. They actually remember you even if its been months. The restaurant is spotless and spaced out. Tonight I had the Hot Iron Plate with Seafood. It was very good and the mixture of veggies was awesome. Plus, its fun trying something new and makes a lot of noise when it comes out. Everything was cooked perfectly, especially the shrimp. Only thing missing was a bit of heat, but I'm often a 5 star spice girl, so I'm no longer allowed to decide rather something is spicy or not anymore. And I wont mark them down for that. The sauce was complex and not salty.

John S.

Yelp
Used to be my favorite spot on the hill. Prices a Have gone up and sushi portions have gone down. Just received a spicy tuna roll almost no tuna. I however am impressed how they were able to slice the fish so small for the rainbow roll. I won't be back
