"Chef Jodrick Ujaque’s Caribbean American gastropub is worth the trip to historic Homestead. The menu features over a dozen different burgers made with certified Angus beef and unique toppings such as the El Yunque burger with mofongo, applewood smoked bacon, provolone cheese, grilled onions, criolla sauce, and chimichurri aioli, and the What Diet Bro? with a one pound patty, applewood smoked bacon, American, white cheddar, and Muenster cheeses, grilled onions, criolla sauce, and a fried egg — add fries to any burger for a mere $2. A vegetarian burger is also available. Best for: Adventurous toppings on thick and juicy or smashed burgers" - Stacy Moya
"This small Puerto Rican restaurant is one of our favorite places to eat mofongo. It comes with arroz con gandules, pickled red onions, and a rich bone broth you should be dunking that garlicky plantain mash into. Chefs On The Run also has an entire page of the menu dedicated to burgers so thick, you’ll have to squeeze tight to fit the whole thing in your mouth (stop giggling). There are 12 different options, like a grilled cheeseburger and a ño burger that comes with something called “rugged sauce," which we’d like to throw in our purse and bring to every meal for the rest of our lives. It’s a very small restaurant, with just a handful of tables and patio seating in the back." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer

It comes with arroz con gandules, pickled red onions, and a rich bone broth you should be dunking that garlicky plantain mash into. We like ours with crispy fried pork, but you can get it with chicken, steak, or shrimp. "Puerto rican chef Jodrick Ujaque wanted to bring his native cuisine and flair for signature burgers to Homestead after working for several restaurants in Miami. At Chef’s On The Run, patrons can savor dishes reminiscent of La Isla Del Encanto such as surullitos, alcapurrias, and a selection of mofongos curated for carnivores, pescatarians, vegetarians, and vegans alike. For the burger lovers, there’s a variety of eighteen impressively loaded options also suited for all diets. Local beers, wine, and sangrias are also available to wash down the meal." - Stacy Moya
"Chef and owner Jodrick I. Ujaque lets his Puerto Rican roots shine through at Chefs on the Run. The menu features a full page of mofongos with toppings like churrasco, chicken, and even a vegetarian option. Burger lovers are encouraged to make the trip to check out any of the 17 burgers found on the expansive menu. Burger options start out basic with LTO and transition into more adventurous being topped with smoky chipotle mac n’ cheese or the mongolian burger with beef, pickled carrots, daikon radish, soy lime aioli, and Sriracha." - Amber Love Bond
