Had such a bad experience at Chez Moi tonight. I went with my husband and we ordered a few apps to share (escargot and tuna tartare) and then he got the lamb and I got the burger. The escargot was good, the tuna mediocre (just unseasoned tuna over guacamole basically). The big issue was with my entree.
I ordered my burger medium rare. I prefer it medium rare but I understand restaurants tend to overcook a bit, so if it came out medium I wouldn't have cared all that much. It came out very well done. Our waitress came over and asked how everything was. I told her my burger was overcooked, but since I was pretty hungry I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for them to remake it, so I'd just eat this one. She said it wasn't a problem and they could make me another in five minutes. In the meantime she let me hold on to my plate. I didn't want more of the burger so I had some of the salad which was drowning in dressing. I used two napkins to try to sop it up and it was still 4x more dressing than any reasonable person would want. I ended up just waiting.
When my second burger came out it didn't have any of the toppings (onion, lettuce, tomato). I asked for these and they apologized and took it back. There weren't fries either but our waitress packed up the first burger and there were fries in that, so I didn't want to make it into a thing. Not a big deal anyway. So then I cut into the second burger just to check since the first one was so over, and this one is COMPLETELY raw. Not like a little under medium rare but straight up a raw meat patty browned on the outside. When our waitress came over I let her know, and she brought it back to the kitchen. I said at that point that I could just eat my first burger (didn't say this part) bc clearly they don't know how to cook a burger and I was very hungry by this point.
They don't bring out a plate or anything so my husband is like - yeah they're making you a new burger. She didn't say that but I figured he was probably right since they didn't say anything more. While I'm sitting there and my husband is finishing his meal, the manager comes over and asks how everything is going. I just look at her blankly. My husband is like - 'yeah...well you know her burger was raw.' And she's like yeah I know our server told me. Not really sure why she didn't just come say that in the first place and apologize? Bc obviously I'm not having the best time. So then she offers us a free dessert which we decline bc we don't like to eat dessert.
Our waitress comes over and clears my husband's plate. She asks if we want to see the dessert menu or have an espresso or etc. my husband says we're still waiting on my burger, and she's like oh I'm sorry I thought you mentioned you'd eat this one (points at box on the table next to me). So now it's clear they didn't plan to bring anything new out, but then why wouldn't you at least replate the food so I was t sitting there watching my husband eat his meal? I guess I could have eaten it out of the paper box?! Not sure if that was what they were expecting. Just weird though.
So then the check comes and the burger is on it. We also got three drinks. Nothing is comped. I'm not trying to pay for this burger that I didn't eat / wasn't what I wanted, so I say that I'd like it taken off bc I didn't get what I asked for - well done and then raw burger, and I just sat there for the whole meal without food in front of me. She goes to get her manager. I say the same thing to the manager (who I'm sure already knows the situation bc the server told her) and she's already got the adjusted check. Then she takes away the box they've already packed for me to presumably throw it away in the kitchen. Which like, I know I didn't end up paying for it but then it's such a bad experience bc now I'm literally just being sent home hungry after sitting in your restaurant for an hour and a half. In addition to that, our server is now being cold, despite the fact that I've been really chill about everything this whole thing, and then stated very politely that I didn't want to pay for something that wasn't what I ordered / wanted.
It was just a really weird / not great experience. Definitely won't be back and will advise friends against it as well.
TLDR; doesn't know how to cook a burger. Bad customer service.
