Great Places in Spokane to Eat and Drink

"Chef Travis Dickinson reveals his fine dining CV — which includes several years as the executive chef of Spokane’s Clover and a guest chef stint at Chez Panisse — with the carne asada at this downtown taquería, which is made by sous vide cooking tri-tip for 20 hours. Dickinson and business partner Justin Curtis recently launched a second location, bringing modern spins on classic taco fillings, like chili-and-honey-marinated Oregon rockfish and north African Lamb sausage with hazelnut salsa macha, to Hayden, Idaho" - Kris Kilduff

Cochinito is a great spot for fast, flavorful eats. I had the birria tacos and the lamb—both tender, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. You order at the counter, and service was fast and efficient. Water is self-serve, and the space has a modern, laid-back vibe with cool decor. Great for a quick but satisfying meal. Construction in the area made it a bit of an adventure to find, but the signage is clear which helps.

Google
I had high hopes for this place, but was left meh. The tacos are pricey and lacking a lot of flavor. The Cochinita was a big disappointment, not done right at all, but I can't fault them since we live in the Yucatán and are spoiled. The tacos were OK, just not great or that full for the price. The chips and salsa wasn't bad, just a bit too chunky. Overall the value for quality isn't up to par.

We loved this place! We came for restaurant week and although it was busy, the food was great and the service was good. I loved the steak and birria tacos and I am already dreaming about having them again. 😍 The hibiscus panna cotta is heavenly. Seriously it was so good, I'm glad I shared with my husband because I'm trying to lose weight and I would devoured the entire thing. Their guac was chips were great as well. I personally didn't care for their rice and beans or churros. The rice and beans were a little bland and the churros were a little too crispy. The elote bowl was fine, I mainly tried it to try something new.

Google
I asked ChatGPT for the best Mexican restaurant in Spokane and it directed me to this place. My daughter and I shared the queso fundido, pork cheek carnitas, rice and pinto beans, and shrimp tacos. Everything was unbelievably delicious. The shrimp tacos had a strawberry vinegar compote of some sort and slivered almonds. The pork carnitas was succulent - perfect blend of salt, fat, acid, and sweet. The rice and beans were authentic and even the chips and queso (with rough cut tomato salsa) was best I’ve ever had. I don’t know where the chef was trained but BRAVO! I told everyone at the front desk at the hotel where we are staying how fabulous this place is! Wish we were staying another night just so we can go back and try the birria torte and tacos!

Google
Millennial taco place. They have sharables, chalkboard signs, metal trays, and a cool hipster behind the bar. The employees here were awesome and fun to talk to. The food was decent for mexican themed food but the furthest thing from authentic. It was also extremely overpriced. The salsas (and 5 dollar guacamole) were served in very tiny containers (id say about 1.5-2 ounces of sauce at best) that were difficult to scoop from. They do have free water here which i really enjoyed. I highly recommend if your a hip mellenial

Had such a great experience at Cochinito! Highly recommend. Was greeted with a warm welcome upon entry. It was our first time, so they offered some help with the menu. Everything was delicious. Great food, great service, and great music!

Google
I’m willing going to out myself here. I’m from San Diego. I grew up in a family where my abuela made everything from scratch. This here is one fantastic dish done right. I ate the first taco so fast I didn’t take a pic, so enjoy a pic of my half eaten dish. I will 100% be coming back. As someone who was raised with authentic Mexican food, I’ll vouch for Conchinito ♥️ Not to mention the owner went through the menu with me, gave great recommendations, and was super nice! Very comforting feel good spot!

Google
We found the tacos to over deliver in every way. My carne asada tacos were delicious and easily worth twice as much. The guac was fresh and the fish tacos others ordered at the table were yummy. The staff members were friendly and efficient.

Yelp
We are in Spokane for my wife's Immersion - which tasks us with finding something delicious for dinner each night. Tonight, we had Cochinito Taqueria and the food was everything we were desiring. To start the customer service was amazing. Shayne took our order and not only was he immensely knowledgeable but his helpful commentary on the menu and warm presence immediately made us excited. We happened to stop in during Happy Hour making all of our tacos a dollar off and we also happened to catch the Pork Belly right before their menu switched over to the Fall menu. You order before you seat and they have the cutest cards to signify which table you are at - a touch that adds the eloquently integrated cultural developments. We ordered a total of 8 tacos (3 of them being the Pork Belly - no shame there), 2 Agua Frescas, and an order of Churros. Heritage Duroc Pork Cheek Carnitas 9/10 This taco was light and still packed flavor. I would've liked a bit more of the cheese, but the flavor in each component held its own. The carnitas were seasoned very well Lamb Merguez 10/10 The flavor profile of this taco was so unique the mint chutney adds the perfect hit to compliment the hazelnut salsa mach and it finished with the quest fresco made for both a fresh and flavorful bite. 20 HR Carne Asada 10/10 Tender, fall to pieces in your mouth, fully flavorful meat all sat in this taco. The corn even adhered to the flavor of the meat and overall had a beautiful presentation and flavor in each bite. The juices of the meat also surrounded the shell of the taco and held all of the flavors in one. Pescado 6/10 I can tell that this taco is the perfect taco for someone if you like a hint of sweet to your flavor. The rockfish alone did not carry a lot of flavors, but the Chile mango gel was a bit much for me. Pork Belly 10/10 We legitimately cannot believe we will not have access to this taco starting tomorrow due to the menu turning over. The succotash and the pepitas topped with the most delicious and flavorful chimichurri made this a treat that we had to have multiple. Beef Short Rib Birria 10/10 Matched with a consommé that had its own flavor, this taco was a warm burst of flavor and perfection. The short rib definitely deserves the notoriety it earned from both Shayne and everyone else who came in after us singing its praises along with the Pork Belly. While there weren't a ton of ingredients, the flavors flowed together with perfect execution. Churros w/ Cajeta 10/10 Those churros were magical. As a churro they held their own and had the perfect blend of cinnamon and their flavor. The Cajeta was the perfect addition, its sweetness served as a compliment to the cinnamon and the fact that they were fresh and warm sealed the deal. We have a few more days in Spokane and we will definitely have to stop in again before we go. So happy to have found a spot with amazing customer service and delicious flavorful food.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place forever! This place is definitely pricey for Tacos so keep that in mind. Don't be that guy that after ordering and paying you go, "oh why was that so expensive?" It's a ritzy taco bar. That's what they're selling. Tacos are amazing. Can't go wrong with the $20 taco plate. The Ceviche is delicious, but is so rinky dink in portion size. Jazz it up a bit gents. Hot sauce/house table sauce is lacking. Get some heat going peoples! They charge wayyyyy to much for chips & salsa. Weak sauce indeed. Overall I'd recommend for a try. It's not the best taco you'll ever have. It's def fancy. But it was fun.

Yelp
We always eat at Cochinito Taqueria when we visit Spokane. The menu is outstanding! The service is quite good. The only thing that bothers me is the location - and that is NOT their fault!! The homeless situation downtown Spokane is worrisome, and for that I'm sorry to say. We go to Cochinito anyway, but for how long? Anyway, go during the daytime.

Yelp
It's pretty expensive $15+ for two carne asada tacos with rice and beans. You order first then seat yourself. In the main downtown area. The tortillas are homemade so they taste authentic and less Americanized. The presentation looked great and the meat slices were fairy large. No refried beans though which was tragic. Overall was good but for the price I don't think it's worth going back. Staff were very friendly and patient.

Yelp
I hand picked this place while scrolling from 2,000 miles away. I was excited to try it. All chef driven and locally sourced ingredients, everything made in house. Sounded like a dream. I wanted to give it a better grade but honestly couldn't. Salsa was more like pico but great. Grade A Guacamole was a blend of tomatillo and good but heavy on the latter. Grade B. Chips - house made in strips. Nice touch. Very good. Grade A. Now for the tacos. The homemade tortillas were a little undercooked to be honest. Fresh for sure. Grade B- Came with side of black beans and Spanish rice- I would not get these. Both Dry & flavorless. Grade C- Tacos themselves: I was not overly impressed. The pork cheek was dry and bland. I added both sauces and lime. Grade C 20 hr brisket- good. Grade B Pescado- crunchy and delicious with some sweet sauce accents. Best of the bunch, Grade A-

Yelp
One of the wildest business models I have ever seen. They have it listed as they are open until 9 and have shut down at 7:50 numerous times even with us calling before. Would recommend making it easier on everyone and changing the closing time to 8.

Yelp
We were very surprised at how good this Mexican food was (coming from California, Mexican food expectations out of state are always lowered). This is more your 'elevated' Mexican cuisine opposed to your gritty hole in the wall place. The service was excellent and there's a variety of food to choose from. The birria tacos were flavorful and the chips and salsa/guacamole was a good snack. We enjoyed the cool air conditioning and ice cold water refills. It's a little pricey for a large party but you get a decent amount of food and don't leave hungry. We'd come back.

Yelp
We came here on taco Tuesday during Restaurant Week and it was amazing! Three of us came so that we could order every item on their special menu. The mushroom m, carnitas, and pork cheek tacos were my favorite out of the entrees. Appetizers- the corn dip and guacamole were the best. For dessert we got the hot chocolate (not a fan myself - needs more chocolate), churros with two different dipping sauces (my favorite), and a flan type dessert (forgot the name) with mango and horchata whipped cream which was also delicious. Highly recommend.

Yelp
When I got of my flight I was starving, asked my driver for recommendations and they replied with Cochinito. Wow, really good. Very friendly and knowledgeable servers, quality food, fast ticket times, good vibes and the old fashion grab and go fridge is a nice touch. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
Thus restaurant is so welcoming, its staff so hospitable. The tacos so delicious. If you even might want Mexican food and are in downtown, go here! I had the carnitas: very flavorful and juicy. The lamb was Soo good and tasted like lamb. And the birria was something special. Note, the server strongly recommended the mushroom, and so even vegheads can find delicious food. My wife got the posole. Delicious, but probably not enough for a meal. Ok, this place has the ambiance of an upscale taqueria and prices of a good sit-down, but the food and service make it worth it.

Yelp
I really enjoy this place, from the food to the drinks you can't go wrong. The party started with 3 tacos 20 hr steak, feed Mushrooms, pork cheek and this ginger cocktail, when I say party in my mouth/ Joygasm. Oh and I added the chips and salsa too for my delight. So at this point I'm full but still reading the menu, I'm thinking these wings sound amazing and I can make more them along with two more cocktails and a steak taco. The folks who worked there were really nice too and the music hit the spot. It's a vibe worth splurging for. Pics to follow

Yelp
Excellent tacos with very nice and accommodating staff. It wasn't a ton of food, but the flavors were amazing. Pretty laid back setting where I was able to take my kids without it being a big deal.

Yelp
Still fantastic. Some time has passed since I was last at Cochinito Taqueria. The first time we were able to walk up to the counter and immediately order. This time there was a line to the door - that's a great problem to have and definitely worth the wait - the line went quickly. Our order: Tuna Ceviche, Charred Spanish Octopus, and several tacos: Pork Cheek Carnitas, Pork Belly Pibil, 20 Hour Carne Asada, Beef Short Rib Birria, Lamb Merguez, and Pescado. I said this in my previous review or Cochinito, and I still feel this way, it's the best tacos in Washington (that I've tried). There's one place near the Pike Place Market, Maiz, which offers delicious tacos - however, this is just an elevated experience which excel in all preparations. I was recently in Paso Robles, which touts Michelin-star and Michelin-watch restaurants and the food I had I had in Spokane, between Cochinito and Zona, were decidedly better by myself and my group. The Tuna Ceviche was refreshing and vibrant - lots of textures and flavors that complemented each other so well. The Charred Spanish Octoupus is one of the best preparations of Octopus that I've had in quite some time. Great flavor and texture with a nice supporting cast of olives, chorizo, potatoes, and peppers. Completely unexpected, but very much welcomed. The tacos, fantastic. The tortillas, best I've had in Washington. Only once place has come close. The preparation of the proteins and the accompaniments leave no need for a salsa; however, the verde and rojo offerings (on the side) are good. The 20 Hour Carne Asada was unexpectedly tender and such a different Carne Asada experience than I'm used to. While I didn't get as much of the grill/char that I've had with other preparations, it was incredibly tender and juicy. Really good. I think my two favorites were the pork preparations: Pork Cheek Carnitas and Pork Belly Pibil. The pork in both was incredibly tender, nearly melting, nice sweetness (Pibil) and acidity (Carnitas), that complemented the fattiness of the pork. Really good. The Birria was fantastic and I could drink the consume. I remember the first time having Birria and this took me back to that experience, but that taco was better. The Pescado and Lamb were very good. The lamb was like a "Mexican Gyro." It was fun. While the Pescado was fresh and light. Next time I come back, I would try all of them again + the tacos I didn't try. Fantastic. Must try.

Yelp
Great little taqueria restaurant in downtown area. Perfect for a quick bite of drinks with friends. Order as you check in before picking up drinks and your table. I sampled the carne asada, chicken anc pescado tacos (pescado was the fav).

Yelp
I'm so glad we found this place.. and it was Happy Hour! Select tacos were $1 off during Happy Hour and I wanted to order them all, but I restrained myself to just three. We ordered at the counter and the food was delivered to the table, they forgot an item but when we asked about it they resolved it quickly. The girl at the counter and the food runner were both friendly and helpful. Heritage Duroc Pork Cheek Carnitas: with salsa verde, cojita, pickled onion, cilantro and lime (by far my favorite) Pork Belly Pibil: citrus and achiote marinade, roasted in banana leaves, pickled onion, sesame, peach/citrus salsa and tostones. 20 hour Carne Asada: Sous Vide tri tip, chili rubbed and slow braised to medium rare, grilled corn, onions and peppers, chili garlic oil, asadero cheese. All the tacos were fantastic flavor and texture combinations but the temperature of the food was Luke warm at best (It would be 5 star review if the food was served hot). I would definitely eat here again.

Yelp
I must have walked passed Cochinito a hundred times but finally stopped in - WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG?!?! Some of the best gourmet street tacos I've ever had. The Heritage Duroc Pork Cheek Carnita taco was so delicious that I may just order that next time. One of the best carnitas I've had. But I also had the Lamb Merguez, 20 Hr Carne Asada, and the Beef Short Rib Birria - all of which were fantastic and would be hard to pass up, especially that Carne Asada; so tender! Add in a simple yet perfectly executed house marg and bam, I can't wait to be back! PRO TIP: They are a hair pricy for the size of taco (still worth it though), so come during Happy Hour which is daily from 3-5:30pm. It's $1 off draft beer, that house marg, and any menu items with a "H" by them on the menu.

Yelp
Delicious tacos and tasty margaritas! Had the birria and carnitas tacos with beans and rice. It was all delicious and devoured quickly.

Yelp
My partner and I came downtown for a friends art event . We walked around and explored first night Spokane downtown. When we first stopped by early in the night, the place was very busy. We left and got to see some cool art venues around town. I'm glad we came back later in the night. The restaurant was still busy, a line to the door. But it was worth the wait. I have been wanting to try this place for a very long time. We placed our order up front, and there were cool fridges with beverages that you grab yourself. It just happened to be restaurant week. We ordered the queso fundido , two tacos ( shrimp and carne asada) with the cumin rice and pinto beans and the churros with caramel sauce off the restaurant week menu. We also ordered three extra tacos, the fish, pork cheek carnitas, and the birria. The fresh made chips with the flaky salt alone are to die for. The queso fundido is creamy and cheesy with a bit of a spicy kick from the jalapeños. I only wish there was more queso , I could eat a big bowl! All of the tacos we ordered were amazing. From best to least. Pork cheek carnitas, carne asada, shrimp, fish and birria. All the tacos had their own salsas that paired perfect with each protein. The pork cheek was topped with pickled onions, that cut the richness of the pork cheek. The carne asada was tender, slow cooked for 20 hours. The shrimp taco was filled with plump plentiful shrimp. The fish had this delicious chili mango dressing that was spicy but sweet. That sauce alone is scrumptious. And would go well on wings too! The birria is good. Kind of plain compared to the other tacos but was still good. The pinto beans were flavorful and the cumin rice was the perfect side to the tacos. Evrything was well seasoned . We finished with fresh made churros and a caramel sauce. The perfect ending to a nice date night out. We can't wait to try the rest of the tacos they have!

BJ C.

Yelp
We've been a 1/2 dozen times now to Hayden and once to Spokane. I don't normally like lamb, but the lamb tacos are our new favorite! The corn is also very good. To be honest overall we are impressed. Some great flavor combos.
google avatar

Brienna O.

Yelp
Really yummy place! You pay at the counter before sitting. They will help you find a spot too. Margaritas are voted some of the best in town- I had a spicy jalapeño margarita with tajin rim. I ordered the pork belly shredded carnitas taco + chips / salsa + churros. Everything was delicious. Churros with the caramel sauce were insane. I ordered the churros to go so I don't have a pic. The interior is super cute! It's worth a wait.

Yelp
This place in the heart of downtown Spokane is really remarkable. finding a great Tacos and cocktails bar. fun and lively inside with beautiful art on the walls. the Mexican street food is amazing.

Yelp
My family came up from California for a wedding and wanted to try some Mexican food and saw this had raving reviews. The service was good. Friendly management and staff. The food came out in a timely manner. The order system is kind of a "fast casual" style, you order and the register and you get served at your table. Modern decor inside and clean. Californians are spoiled with amazing authentic food so I didn't expect a traditional taqueria experience but the food was just... different and a bit underwhelming. I was looking for more flavor? - Horchata was watery :( - The carnitas were OK, more stew-like instead of crispy. Fish was crispy and fresh but not super into the mango-honey salsa, it was very overpowering, although I liked the idea of it. - The wings were probably my favorite part I really liked the flavor and it had a bit of a kick! I think this is a great place for the ambiance and drinks. I like upscale Mexican food but they missed the mark on some stuff. Reminds me of chipotle?A bit bland for me that the salsa couldn't save some of the dishes. This a pretty popular spot since I saw how busy it is so this place will be fine with local patrons.

Yelp
What a cozy, little gem in the middle of the city. Located on a corner in downtown Spokane. Its colorful walls and interior are a bright sunshine moment to their food. Offering various taco styles and seasonal highlights. It has a great pub feeling and a genuine community gathering spot. It took a moment or two for us out of towners to grasp the process to order. And unfortunately, i noticed we may not have been the only ones. But once you get to the bar to order food and drinks... the experience and wait was definitely worth it. We ordered their special summer salad that was so fresh and light and enjoyable. Even for someone who isn't a huge fan of cantaloupe, I want to try to remake this salad at home. We also ordered a variety of tacos including octopus, calamari, lamb, pork cheek, pork belly, and steak. ALL of which were cooked beautifully. I was very pleased to find the calamari not over cooked. The light crispy coating and wonderful flavor was spot on. The octopus was just as ideally prepared. It's a bit of a tight quarters fit when it is full, though the outside seating is very nice. Prompt service and staff is very eager to discuss recommendations and check in on you. I can fully see how this is a local favorite.

Debbi K.

Yelp
Wow..margarita as soon as I stepped to the counter freshly shaken & very good but the pescado tacos....yum! Cali gal so we know Mexican, but this place is GREAT fresh, honest & really good food...it's an order at the counter & sit yourself but so worth it!

Yelp
Located in Downtown Spokane, Cochinito Taqueria is a super hip restaurant. I came by for a late lunch and was surprised it wasn't too crowded. I ordered tortilla chips with house made salas and sikil pak. I had never tried sikil pak before so I was pleasantly surprised. There are booths and some bar seating along the window. I opted for a window seat so I could people watch. When ordering it was suggested I get three tacos. I did; but I think two would be have been enough with the chips. I tried the beef short rib barria, which I was told is a popular choice, along with the chicken, and the pork cheek carnitas tacos. All three were great. Staff was friendly and attentive.
google avatar

Deborah H.

Yelp
The ahi ceviche was mouth watering good. The Fresh Tortilla Chips with Guacamole and pico were very tasty. The carne asada tacos were good. Highly recommend the mushroom, as well as , the birria tacos. Wash it down with the blackberry mint beverage it's perfect. Adding a little vodka and lime perks it up too.
google avatar

Andrew T.

Yelp
There's not much special about this place in my personal opinion, but there's nothing wrong with it. I enjoyed the tacos I had, but for me they were trying to be a little too fancy and added flair over flavors I wanted. Good overall but I'd find somewhere else if I went again.

Douglas S.

Yelp
Rice and pinto beans are delicious, and black beans are also very good. Chips are crispy and salty, just like I prefer, but not everyone feels the same. Three taco meals were plenty of food. Carna Asada, pork cheek carnita and beef short ribs, all three good.

Amy M.

Yelp
Great food, overall a bit cold in the room and had some jackass talking on speaker phone the entire time. So the fact that the food was transporting me off to happy land was amazing! Got a sampler of tacos, all really good, plan to get birria and pork cheek again next time, birria consomé was drank after dipping. Chips are homemade and so very good, the chunky flakes of salt are a great touch. I recommend the queso with chips and a side of salsa to start.

Cole C.

Yelp
Food and drinks are excellent! Awesome margaritas. Some of the best food in Spokane. Yum!!

Rhonda H.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The vibe, the people and the FOOD is FANTASTIC! Go often, eat lots!

Yelp
So happy to have found a GREAT AWESOME taco place in the PNW! And their selection of tequila looks really impressive. I'm thinking this Saturday for UFC fights to get myself another bag of delicious tacos. Because I have now found the place for such a thing.

Yelp
It always good to come back and eat at Cochinito Taqueria! And it's always better when you go there with family and/or friends. What can I say, I ordered the Charred Spanish Octopus appetizer, it a meal all by itself! The octopus was soft and succulent and charred just right. If you like Pickled Vegetables, my order was delightful and I believe goes well with any of the food served there. Cochinito's is basically self service, you order at the counter, get you utensils and water, go sit down at your table and the wait staff bring out your food. The staff is always efficient and friendly. Don't forget to bus your own table!
google avatar

Rolando N.

Yelp
Very good tacos. Definitely satisfies that south of the border craving. It's an eclectic mix of ingredients so not your traditional tacos. But the flavors compliment each other really well and the custom sauces they use on the tacos are out of this world. The chips and queso were outstanding. Full of quacamole, pico, and chorizo gooey goodness. The corn chips are homemade, thin and crunchy. Perfect! As for the tacos, try a variety. It's hard to go wrong. Here is our order of preference 1: Pork Belly - 5 stars for this taco alone 2: chorizo Picadillo - super tasty 3: Pork Cheek - similar to Barbacoa 4: Carne Asada - the Kernel corn is a nice touch 5: Shredded Chicken - not a big fan. It was okay but it didn't quite pack the flavor punch as the other tacos. Not sure why though The tortillas are homemade and delicious. Service was friendly and prompt

Yelp
We found this place near our hotel and because we were craving Mexican food. The tacos were so good and everything was made fresh. The ambience was great for sitting and talking and the staff were very efficient. Good find!

Yelp
Love this place, great food and great service. Sauces are flavorful and stuff is very friendly. Clean place and food presentation is also good. Order seafood tacos and they were good

Yelp
Positives: my mom liked her margarita! Cute decor, very comfortable. I enjoyed the pinto beans & pork combo in the bowl I tried. Negatives: y'all this place is just so overhyped. My mom got three different kinds of taco, none of them were good. The salsa and guacamole are underseasoned, and the salsa tasted like the tomatos were canned. The rice bowl had a really small serving of meat, and overall it was just really expensive for what we got.
google avatar

Yelp
We are in town for a couple days. I did my research and thanks to Yelp we found this place! We both had the chicken tacos. They were good! We both had the peach iced tea, they didn't have regular iced tea. We sat outside. The tacos were tasty, moist with a little zip. Tortillas appear to be homemade. Nice! I would have liked an option of an enchilada or relleno...but that's just me. Service was super friendly.

Yelp
This place is one I've visited on more than one trip to Spokane. I am impressed with how they have kept it together for years. Also the way they run the line keeps the table available! Pacing is everything with order-at-the-counter places! I love how easy it is to get a lot of different flavors in this place. I will never not order the beans and rice. They are top notch and full of flavor! And with two tacos they are a great meal! We got house-made chips and guac and pretty much every kind of taco they have. We all loved our plates and I know we'll be back. Also the staff are attentive, professional and efficient. Even to the rude customers we observed mistreating one of the employees. Sheesh. White ladies. Check yo'selfs!

Yelp
How good is this place? My daughter and I were in Spokane for weekend volleyball tournament and went Thu night right after we landed, tried to go on Sunday (closed!) and went again on Mon for lunch before we took off. We live in SF Bay Area and there's plenty of tacos, etc., here -- no comparison, these are above and beyond all the ones we've been to locally. Why? The tacos are ALL excellent. We've had all 10 tacos and every one had their own fresh, popping, unique flavors and textures. Our faves: birria, pork belly, octopus. It may take you a few trips to discover your favorites but if you're like us, you'll enjoy the flavor journey throughout. We also loved the octopus appetizer. Daughter gets it each time and it takes some arm twisting for me to even get a little of it before she devours it.

Yelp
The food is amazing. Creative and delicious! The drinks are on point, too. Our group had a variety of things from the tacos to a bowl and everyone was pleased. I had the squid tacos, pork belly, and shrimp tacos. All delicious with just the right kick.

Yelp
The food was tasty, but portions are small and you have to place your order before you can sit at a table. When you walk in you stand in line and have to order and pay at the bar, including tip for the upcoming service. You then pickup your order number and proceed to get your own utensils and water and find an open table to sit. Eventually the food comes, that is if you realize that you have to place your order number on the metal holder on the table, otherwise your server takes the food on a tour around the bar not sure what to do with it. Also that moment is the last time you see your server. I got the octopus taco which from my experience was too chewy, not what I expected. On the other hand, the lamb taco was good. The taco bawl was good too as well as the horchata barracha, though it was small of a portion.

Yelp
Oddly enough, there were not very many dog-friendly patios in downtown Spokane when we stopped by the area during our road trip. However, Cochinito Taqueria saved the day, as they had some outdoor tables and chair set up outside the front of the restaurant. We visited on a Saturday around lunch time and the place was pretty busy. The space inside was large enough, with a bar area that you order at. Once your food is ready, an employee will bring out your food. It's a casual spot in downtown Spokane. My partner and I ordered some tacos, which were good. I liked how thin and soft the corn tortillas were, which is what I remember most from my meal. I ordered three tacos: the lamb, carne asada and fish. Of all the tacos, I liked the lamb one the best, which was ground lamb and had Moroccan spices to it. The carne asada was also good. But the fish one was A-OK. That's a taco I wouldn't get again, as the batter was heavy and it had a fruity sauce with it that I wasn't a fan of. Overall, Cochinito Taqueria was a solid spot for lunch and most of all, glad to have found a place where we could sit with our dog outside. The menu features a list of their specialty tacos, but there were also appetizers and other dishes, as well as a full bar. If this had been around when I was going to school here, this would've been dangerous.

Yelp
Pretty damn good I gotta say. Ordered a prawn dish and chicken wings as appetizers. The prawns went super well with the pears. Kinda surprised. The wings tasted pretty spicy in a good way. The spicy is pretty unique. Not so spicy such that you can't tolerate. Too bad I forgot to take photos of them The tacos were pretty bomb. But again, not as amazing as the prawns and wings

Yelp
The food was room temperature after waiting 30 minutes for two tacos. They unintentionally sent our order out with a Uber driver. But didn't tell us that it would be a longer wait. They didn't seem to care much but the restaurant itself was very nice and clean. I probably would not get tacos here again.

Yelp
This is it! A great trendy atmosphere and great food that backs it up! I've come a couple times and the tacos have been amazing! It's quick and easy to order at the counter and I love how they assign tables, it makes it easy to get it and out in a timely manner. The carne asada tacos are my go to, the meat is juicy and full of flavor. I get two and then experiment with the third taco. I have tried the chicken and the mushroom tacos and both were amazing! If you need a little extra zing, you have a couple great sauce options on the table. I also recommend the house margaritas. They are smooth and crisp all at the same time! Pure joy!

Yelp
Incredible craft tacos. Unexpected flavor pairings. I know that sounds pretentious but just trust that these tacos are legit. Super helpful and friendly staff, nice selection of beers and overall great vibe.

Yelp
The best part of the meal was the lamb taco. So good! Service was also great and the restaurant was conveniently close to our hotel.
