7 Best Farmers Markets in Dallas | Eater

"Coppell’s year-round farmers market brings in vendors from across North Texas, selling dairy, eggs, and honey; fruits and vegetables; meats and seafood; and other non-edible, artisan products. Taylor Cooper’s humanely-raised Berkshire pork, sold under his Livestock First Ranch, is not to be missed, along with the cheese, butter, and yogurt from Jersey Girls Dairy. Toey Courtney and his family raise 120 (Jersey, natch) milking cows across 134 acres in Winnsboro. Add some veg to your market tote with goods from Delanco Farm, a six-acre chemical-free farm that offers heirloom produce grown sustainably. Need a snack for your drive home? Grab some rosemary-raisin crisps from Sandra Daniels’ Hippos & Hashbrowns stand. Made with organic whole wheat flour and local buttermilk, Daniels’ signature item is a must-have alongside some local cheese and a glass of wine." - Vox Creative

I had a fabulous time at the Coppell farmers market. It was my first time here this morning and it was such a beautiful day to be out and support local farmers and vendors. The market is decently sized with vendors being indoors and outdoors. They have a variety of products that are being sold, such as fruits and vegetables, meats, dairy, honey, skin and hair care, cookies, salsa, and more. I bought the pickled kimchi from what they say is the pickle lady. Her stand was right in front of the entrance of the indoor structure. She has a variety of pickled items such as daikon, radish, dill, pickles, cucumbers, red, cabbage, and more. I also bought the habanero salsa from Majerly Tasty Selections . Andrea is the owner and she is very friendly along with her staff. I tried a sample of the habanero salsa, which is their most popular and wow does it pack a punch. It was delicious so I had to buy one. It was $12 for a jar of salsa and they have a loyalty points card where if you buy 12, you get a free jar. Overall, my experience at the Coppell farmers market was amazing and I’m so glad I went there today.

You will be disappointed if you go there for fresh produce because of the collection. I mean they don't have enough variety and top it off they overcharge all the items. You will be happy to see the kids playground and the splash pad. Bring your change of clothes and towels before coming here so you don't return home with remorse. Good for a quick stop, that's all.

Google
Love this market! Really friendly staff and vendors here and I was thankful to be able to have my own table here to have my book signing/sell my children's book They allow for local authors , esp. who give to charity with their sales as I do- to be able to come once a quarter! I will be back to both shop and have my own stand again this fall!

Google
My wife and I come to this farmers market almost every Saturday. All the vendors are super friendly, and offer a wide range of goods. There are always lots of super fresh vegetables, plants, herbs etc to choose from, along with other refined goods. Locally roasted coffee, root beer, essential oils, bread and more are all available. There is a playground for the kids, and a large grassy area that is dog friendly.

Google

Yelp
You'll find me at Coppell Farmers Market most Saturday mornings, it's my go-to weekend stop. Come early, though, because the good stuff goes fast! I always pick up yogurt, eggs, yogurt drinkables, and milk. There's also a great variety of meats, veggies, and more from several local vendors. It's a great spot to support small producers and start your weekend right. Most payments are through cash or cash app.

Yelp
This charming market is only open every other week in the winter, so I'm already looking forward to summer when (I believe) it's open every Saturday. I came with one goal: sourdough. There were two bread vendors, and I managed to snag the second-to-last loaf from the indoor vendor--success! It was delicious. I also picked up a jar of peanut butter mixed with Oreos for a slightly steep $12, but hey, I love supporting small businesses. Totally worth it for a fun, unique treat. By the time we arrived at 10:45, staples like milk, eggs, and yogurt were already sold out, so note to self--get here earlier next time! I imagine there are way more vendors in the summer, and I can't wait to come back and see what's in store.

Yelp
Such a fun place to check out on Saturday mornings! Family friendly, easy to park and move thru the rows of booths. Tried Vegilish hummus and Lucido's pasta this round. Can't wait to come back again soon!

Yelp
Was stoked when I came across Kyu's Food at this farmer's market. I love Asian food and I love easy; this had both. Picked up a few flavors to try. I popped it in the air fryer for 12 minutes and the chicken came out pretty crunchy. I used a bowl of hot water to heat up the sauce packet; I mixed it all together and had it with vegetables and rice. It was super easy to make and for frozen, it tasted amazing. It's hard to find interesting Asian food products in the freezer section so this was great. My go to back up item in the freezer when craving Asian fried chicken!

Yelp
Great local farmers market! Get there early for access to fresh local produce and meats. There are a lot of other stands (coffee, soaps, flowers, etc). Parking is easy. The market is spread out and easily walkable. Bring your kids and your pets! Don't forget to checkin and get a stamp on your card when you visit to get $5 off on your fifth visit. I wasn't a huge fan of the cold pizza sold here.

Yelp
Great place to get outside and see some small businesses and local farmers. Based on my 4 visits there appears to be different people everytime I visit. That's the reason why I keep coming to this location: small, friendly people that are informative about what they are selling and so far, everytime I have purchased has been very good in quality and freshness. I will continue to visit even though I have moved farther north.

Yelp
So many great vendors! They are were extremely kind and informative about the product they sell as well.

Yelp
Came here for kids day. Pretty cute and a great playground / splash pad for the kids! We will be back but probably only on a fun interesting theme day.

Yelp
Coppell's farmers market is a popular spot every Saturday 8 to 12. Not only does it host local fresh produce sellers, it is great place for kids to play and run around the fountains while their folks shop. Always hoping to buy something unique and obviously, fresh! Most of them allow you to sample their products. So you end up getting a taste of new things even if you may not buy. I have bought something useful from each and every seller by now. The raw honey is marvellous, the hand made soaps are great gift items, and the pasta is unique and fresh! Also the hummus and baba ganoush with pita are one of the best I have had. The peaches are ripe and sweet, and veggies (raddishes, turnips, salad greens, you name it!)give you a sense of farm to table immediately. Yet to buy fish from them, the last time, their truck didn't show up but I'm hoping it will this weekend. There are few sellers of fruiting and flowering plants, herbs, greens. Ended up buying a blackberry bush! This has become a regular Saturday haunt for me and a couple of friends. Some of the sellers sell at a discounted price of you buy more than 3 or 4, so it always helps if we buy items from the same seller together!

Yelp
Has to be the best in a large radius area. In the middle of winter i found the place full and busy with wide range of vendors from soap to produce to meat. Every one of them gave. Taste and were quite conversational. The parking was easy and the layout was helpful. I suggest to get there early for the best selection. Bring a large bag for your shopping. You'll soon be going home with some goodies. Each vendor has a unique story and tend to be hand making their own creations.

Yelp
Coppell Farmers Market is Coppell's newly relocated farmer's market located in Coppell's downtown district. It's a suburban farmer's market, but you can expect to find typical farmer's market items in a new, clean, & family friendly pavilion. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Vendors, Return) Atmosphere - Coppell Farmers Market is located in a brand new area off Main St. There is a large, primary pavilion that is covered which houses many of the vendors. There's also several that line up on the street. Plenty of parking is available, and there's also a great children's playground attached. It's fenced in to allow kids to play while you explore the market. It's also close to several Coppell mainstays, like Coppell Deli, Local Diner, & Hard 8 down the road. 1 Star. Service - All the vendors are great. They kind of have to be since you're buying their goods. Bring cash for fast transactions. Honestly I didn't check if any vendors accept credit cards. 1 Star. Vendors - There are some worthy vendors here, including Village Baking Company from Dallas, Round Rock Honey, and then you have several artisan vendors. My apologies for not getting company names, but you can buy cakes, cookies, grass fed meats, plants, and pastas. But one strange thing I noticed was there were very few produce vendors. Now, I went on the 3rd Saturday of the month, and my understanding is the 1st Saturday has the most vendors. It would have been nice to have more "farmers" at this market. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes - As I've stated before, I support local/small businesses. Coppell Farmers Market is a great alternative to other farmers' markets, especially if you live in the area. I could even see myself coming back to the playground after a visit to Coppell Deli. Bottom line is Coppell Farmers Market is a must visit if you are within the area. 1 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Vendor - I'll award up to two stars for the vendors, since this is the main reason we visit. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the vendors. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score.

Yelp
Made a outing of the day to take a look at this market and was greatly surprised. There were alot of booths selling various items from crafts and foods. Lots of people had the kids, dogs out in the open area just having a good time. This place is specially great when the sun is out with a cool breeze flowing. This is one of the better markets I have visited in a long while.

Yelp
Nice farmers market, the city did a good job choosing this location, it has a nice shaded structure, a playground, and even a splash pad. We bought a few different things at this farmers Market. We bought ginger drinks, popsicles, Greek food, and a couple different types of pickles. There is a decent amount of venders and a good variety, I liked the live music as it gave us time to go grab a popsicle and sit down for a few moments after shopping and before playing on the playground

Yelp
Love the big barn and the open grass tent area for vendors. Everyone is super friendly and the produce brought in is amazing.

Yelp
I really like the location of this farmers market. It's not super huge, but you get a good selection of veggies and meats. So far I've tried the following: frozen empanadas, bacon, whole chicken, ground beef, pork chops, eggs, hydroponic basil, rosemary, queen amons, eggplant, and tomatoes. Everything was delicious. If you buy tokens at the market, you get a loyalty card and after a certain number of times, you get a $5 token free. This market is clean, convenient and at an easy driving distance from my house. I intend to keep returning!

Yelp
I am really loving the new location of this market! Now we can have so many more vendors come to Coppell and grace us with their presence. I picked me up some fresh cayenne peppers ( I can smell the spice level from the bag), eggplants, peaches, blueberries, zucchinis, red snapper, sliced bread with garlic, and vegan tamales. My tummy is going to be soooo happy this week. They also have various other goodies, which I always end up buying but did not this time. Lotions, scrubs, flavored honey spreads, coffee, and loose leaf tea! It started sprinkling while I drove towards the market but i was happy to see they were still open and per one of the vendors - rain or shine, they will be there!

Yelp
I like the vendors and I like the products. The prices on some things are a little high. Talk to the vendors and they'll help you select products that suit your budget. Try Rehoboth, Livestock First, Joe The Baker, Wackym's, and others. Nate's has good deals and good healthy snacks and nuts, ask about them. Nina and I have been coming here regularly for a few years now. If you're a regular you've probably seen one of us. New facilities are definitely an improvement. Seems like they've got room to grow.

Yelp
What a wonderful little farmers market. They keep it small so it's not overwhelming. Convenient when you know what you want and going in and out quickly without less traffic. I wanted to get local honey to help with my allergies. I've been told that I needed to put the pollen in my body so that it's use to it and not react when theres high pollen count in the air. I came in to get honey and the little vendor from the old couple was so cute. I got a large sized honey in a bear container for $15. It's so good!!! good on toast and good with tea.

Yelp
Coppell Farmers Market is one of the best in Farmers Markets in the Metroplex. Lots of different vendors, from fruits and veggies to tamales and meat purveyors. There are also lots of restaurants in the immediate area to choose from should you get hungry. Very laid back atmosphere and a wonderful sellers that can answer any questions you may have about their products. Great place to start your Saturday morning off.

Yelp
I seriously love what Coppell has done with their farmers market. I've loved it when it. Used to be a few tents in a dirt lot but I really love what it's turned into as well. The new facilities are located in the center of a small walkable area surrounded by cupcake shops, restaurants and other businesses. There is a fountain that the kiddies can run through and splash around in along with a farmers market themed playground that I would have loved running around in 25 years ago. Vendors vary week to week depending on their stock, season, etc. I've bought peaches from Larkin farms a number of times and they've always been excellent. They are so unbelievable juicy and sweet. I also like shopping at dead end farms for various produce and another booth ran by a single guy (sorry I can never remember his farm poor guy) my last few trips have netted me 8 ball squash, tomatoes, ans Armenian cucumbers. My mom is partial to the single serve oatmeal packets sold at the grapevine grains booth. They're perfect for on the go without any sugar added. Aside from those booths you can also purchase other goodies at the market such as olive oil, bread, meat, seafood, pies, pasta, tamales, pecans, herbs, potted plants, but flowers, eggs, dairy products and more. Occasionally they have special vendor demos o live music playing. The market is kiddie and doggie friendly so feel free to bring them. If you forget cash you can purchase tokens to spend at the market thatia redeemable and any booth. If you're hands are getting full and you're still shopping you can drop off your purchases at the veggie valet station where staff will hold onto your purchases so you can drive around to pick them up when you're done. If you want to keep tabs on what's in season and other market happenings you can subscribe to their mailing list to keep in the know. Overall it's a great relaxing Saturday morning outing for the whole family where you can interact and support local businesses.

Yelp
Me: Mmm peaches Peach Lady: Would you like a sample? Me: Sure Peach Lady: You have a white shirt on, be careful - you may want to lean forward. Me: Really... OMG - sooo sorry, (to the lady next to me with a white shirt on) Me: Ok, Ill take a bag. All kinds of treats at this market... it can be a little overwhelming, however, just wait your turn, ask lots of questions and come out with awesome recipes! I picked up crazy juicy peaches, texas basil olive oil, more fresh basil, treats for my dog and some weird zucchinis. Very excited for dinner tonite! They also have home made soaps, lotions, cheese. Pastured meats (much better than the stuff you find at the store - these animals live happy lives). A few tips - go early, they are only open 8-12. Bring your own reusable bags. Bring cash, not everyone takes credit - but some do :)

Yelp
Long time regular shoppers at the Coppell Farmers Market. Terrific selection of fresh food from farmers, ranchers and craft food makers. We have been going regularly since the COVID-19 restrictions have been in place. The dealers are spread out around the grassy field outside the shed and along the side on the pavement as they were before this mess started. It is a nice way to shop outside (rain or shine), worth the tiny bit more you sometimes have to spend, but worth it for the freshness and the fact our money is supporting family businesses.

Yelp
I have to tell you I was so excited to come check out this farmer's market. It's close to home, and I love me some fresh and local produce! They are open from 8 am til noon every Saturday from now til Thanksgiving. It's a super tiny market and you may be able to find a couple of good buys. However a lot of the items I found to be a little too pricey for my taste (and since Sprouts is right around the corner - I'm a little spoiled by their fresh fruits and veggies for low low prices). It's a good little weekend outing to bring the family and have the kids run around the sprinklers/water fountain area. Plus it's in the adorable historic downtown Coppell area. But if you want a big, decent, FM where you're gonna score tons of stuff I would head to the farmer's market in Dallas. This one is just underwhelming to say the least.

Yelp
What a wonderful surprise. Good selection. Love the fact that the have cheese, vegatables, meat, fresh made pasta, bread and baked goods.. And also a bunch of personal chefs selling yummy treats.

Yelp
My roommate and I kind of lucked into stumbling across the farmers market in Coppell last weekend. I'm so glad to see one in the area! Chilly, wet, overcast weather aside, the venue was great. It's quaint but sizable for its target customers, with lots of room for the kids to run around and play in with even an "interactive" (?) fountain to play in! They appeared to be animal friendly as I saw a few leashed dogs (and their respective poop-stations) enjoying the crowd as well. I was happy to see that they even sold soaps at one booth (I'm a sucker for all things lavender)! My only disappointment was the produce selection was somewhat limited and definitely repetitive. I can't be too judgmental in this area I suppose, seeing that a farmers market boasts mostly small, local farms and businesses. It stands to reason that tomatoes, onions, squash, and peaches are very much in season right now! These items and a few others seemed to be the theme for the produce sections. I also have to remind myself that the only other farmers market I've been to was in Pacific Grove CA, and the environment there is so much more temperate and hospitable to diversity.., I doubt that market is considered the norm. Anyways, two of the four peaches we picked out were awesome, the other (white peaches) were not so great. That's the only product we've tested so far, but overall, it's definitely an even worth marking in ones calendar!

Yelp
Rehoboth ranch has the best eggs, pasteured on grass so it is actually high in good cholesterol & has twice the nutrients. Local honey is good for allergies. Local fruits & vegetables grown free of pesticides. Support your local farmer. They don't have to burn a ton of petroleum to ship food to you from across the world. It is grown by local farmers, not exploited 3rd world people.

Yelp
Great fun - lots of interesting booths with good stuff. Place is well organized and easy to visit. There's a a play area for the kids and soon there will be several restaurants in the immediate area. Definitely worth the visit!

Yelp
Such a quaint little setting surrounded by a few yummy shops and restaurants. Nice selection of local produce, breads, pastas, farm fresh eggs, fresh roasted coffee beans, grass fed meats, and plenty of yummies to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Lori S.

Yelp
I enjoyed attending the Coppell Farmers Market. Lots of fish and meat and desserts, along with the fresh produce I expected to see. There were even a few samples. It was fun.

Lynette F.

Yelp
This is a year round authentic Farmers Market. Weekly until Thanksgiving; twice a month Dec-Mar. Local produce and pastured meats year round. Check their website for the market schedule and current events at the market. Yesterday was a great Food Day for Kids. Debit machine available. Some vendors take credit cards.
