Yelp
This place continues to elevate a day out in Red Rock Canyon for me and any guests I have in tow....
Over time, Cottonwood Station has become a really unexpected gem that I continue to go to myself and also bring out of town visitors to. For visitors who know the neon sea of all that bustles, hustles and glows in our cool Las Vegas valley, Cottonwood Station is the unexpected mic-drop moment of "this is so close, this is so rural, so vast and this is so cool."
On a nice day to be able to sit outside under their shaded awning with the fresh air or at nighttime looking at their fire pit with my butt being warmed by the heated cement bench lining the entire wall of tabled seating (a real nice unexpected feature people are often unaware of), this eatery is spot on for perfect ambiance to blend into Blue Diamond and the surrounding Red Rock Canyon area.
An easy drive from the West side, regardless if coming from Mountains Edge or Summerlin, this place is worth the drive. After a day of hiking, cycling, motorcycling or doing chores around your house and needing to escape, this is a great spot. Absolutely always busier from AM to mid afternoon on the weekends, I try to go mid week and/or afternoon/evening to avoid crowds (it is the only restaurant in Blue Diamond, so crowds are going to happen at those peak times).
The establishment is not large, but can fit a large amount of patrons, with their indoor and outdoor options (if it were raining, you would not want to be sitting outside, it does not have that kind of coverage). Great easy menu with sandwiches, pizzas, etc, that includes baked items from a case and beers on tap that only come from Nevada breweries.
A fun retail wall selling an ever evolving amount of cool stuff, like beanies with burros on them, trucker hats with burros on them and t-shirts with burros on them (are you seeking the theme). But out in this area of the world, there is a solid chance you might see a burro walking up the road, so it makes sense. On this visit, I walked out with a kelly green beanie with a red burro on it.
It is a place you could just kick back, maybe be a little dirty from your day of activities in Red Rock, maybe bring your dog and take a breather and enjoy a beer. This is a place that you would smile and talk with the stranger at the next table about their day and your day and enjoy the like mindedness of knowing about this cool spot. Because even if you did not hike a trail that day, you feel one with the area and the beauty of the drive to get to Cottonwood Station.
A nice off the beaten path spot that should make it on everyones Yelp list.
