Hip brewery & Mexican-influenced pub with a visible production area & a taco menu.
"West Loop brewpub Cruz Blanca offers hearty Mexican brunch fare including breakfast tacos stuffed with scrambled eggs, chihuahua cheese, avocado salsa, and either chorizo or rajas, along with chilaquiles that can be served with grilled ribeye or chicken. Wake up with French press Intelligentsia coffee or have a bit of the brewery’s Chelada tropical lager served alongside a bloody mary garnished with pickled vegetables. Book a table through Resy." - Sam Nelson
"A brewpub and sister restaurant to Leña Brava, located in the West Loop, known for its beers and Mexican dishes." - Ashok Selvam
"Come to Cruz Blanca for a plateful of tacos and a couple of beers when your group wants Mexican food. Downstairs is a casual spot good for grabbing a quick dinner and getting out—but what you want to do is head upstairs, where there’s more of a beer hall and party atmosphere." - sam faye, adrian kane, veda kilaru, nick allen
"This brewery has had different chefs and owners over the past few years, and the current iteration is probably the weakest. Mainly because they changed some of the recipes, like their previously great black beans. That said, it still beats 80% of the places on Randolph, and is a great place to go with a group. They have taco platters with options like lamb neck and duck mole, and they all come with handmade tortillas that are nice and chewy. The patio is crowded, but not in an unmanageable way where you’ll worry queso will get spilled on your head." - adrian kane
"This West Loop brewery and taqueria, perched next door to Baja-influenced sister restaurant Lena Brava, offers a tight selection of margaritas. These include a house option (Cabo Wabo, orange liqueur, agave, lime) and a mezcal-based counterpart with grapefruit, plus a spicy mango margarita with a tajin rim. They’re all available by the glass or pitcher." - Samantha Nelson, Eater Staff
